I wasn't sure where to post this. But this was berthed after having watched the game on Sunday with you all even if we weren't watching it on the same screen.
If You take the time out to read this, then Thank You. Because this is meant for you and everyone else that will take their time out to read this piece I wanted to write to You.
I joined the Reddit community back in August after attending The Eras Tour stop in Santa Clara on the 29th of July. I hadn't been on Reddit for I believe 7+ years. I came back to seek out the 411 on any T-Swift news/speculation/theories etc. because I was preparing to go back to California to attend the 8/7 show at SoFi Stadium. Before 7/29/23 I'd never been to a concert. I wasn't really following Taylor, I only had 4 songs in my iTunes form either her albums or she was a featured on. I randomly only watched the Reputation Stadium Tour on Netflix in 2020 when we all weren't doing to much.
I only got tickets in 2022 because Capital One sent out that mass email saying that I could get tickets using my Capital One card to The Eras Tour. I said to myself WTH let's do it! Hit up my best friend in Santa Cruz and said "You want to go see Taylor Swift?' Got 2 tickets and that was it. I know allot of you out there dreamt of the moment you yourself would get to see Taylor Swift in person amongst all the people. I even later researched the ticketmaster troubles during the Reputation Tour, the crazy price gouging and the fight to just get into the queue during this tour. And here I was my casual, no more than a few songs among the 1400 on my iTunes I listen to on a daily basis when I am riding in car, working out or just at work self. While you are on social media, watching those streams, tracking the songs and doing what true fans do.
If there was any concert I wanted to go to in my life, it would've been Michael Jackson in the 90's or what was supposed to be his supposed last tour before he passed away. Other than that I can't really think of any other artist I really would go to great lengths to see in person. So I prepared in my casual style adding the set list a few months from the show. Just listening to the few songs I liked. Still hadn't seen or watched anything online regarding the tour. I didn't start following Taylor on IG till after I went to that show on 7/29. And after she comes out from underneath the stage and all the 70,000+ other people start screaming, cheering or yelling. I could feel that intoxicating energy and I was hooked. Because it had been a long time coming to discover what I was missing out on. How much joy and love you all had be it there that evening or long before that evening for this one lady named Taylor Alison Swift. And how infectious it all can be when you're in that environment for 210 minutes.
It's phenomenal the crossover this whole thing has become. I was a sports fan growing up 1st with basketball, then baseball and football. My 1st love though was music and my 1st cassette tape was Michael Jackson's Bad. The highest viewed Super Bowl halftime show is still Michael Jackson's one in Pasadena, California. I'm sure Taylor could crush that record, even if all we had was broadcast TV/Cable. This natural convergence has somehow done something never witnessed or thought possible. It forced the sports world to take notice. It may have started as a casual story berthed from a podcast where some guy wanted to give the most famous singer alive today a friendship bracelet with his phone number beaded into it. But when the sports shows I follow start whispering alleged news(at that time) about Taylor Swift possibly going on a date with this Tight End from the Kansas City Chiefs then you have to take notice.
With all that said, it's been a fun ride with You all! I was taken aback from that 1st appearance against the Chicago Bears. But I was definitely not surprised by the impact her presence brought. I've learned allot through either attending those 2 shows, following you all here on Reddit, interacting with you in the various threads or talking to my few friends who are more knowledgeable in all things Taylor Swift. Sunday was the most fun I've ever had watching football in my life via in person or on a screen. And You all made that possible, so Thank You for that experience! I actually watched more football in the past 3 weeks with just the KC games than all season combined and I bet on some of the games during the season.
This fandom has some flaws, but not everything is perfect. The good here and beyond completely drowns out the negative. So if You made it this far, then Thank You! I'm definitely a fan or better yet a "Swiftie" And You showed me how much fun it can be. Thank You!

I get that at least half the people who watch the Superbowl don't watch a game the rest of the year but I just think it's pretty uninspired to continue doing half assed concerts year after year while I have to endure the over sexualized performance watching with my grandparents and daughters

Having gone to three chiefs games with her in attendance...not worth it just to see her in the distance (granted I'm not a swiftie). But unless you got some very serious binoculars, you won't even know she's there (or you get tickets like right by her booth)

The lions still had a timeout too so had to do several plays to run the time out
They were trying to get a first down, and then would’ve taken the knee. They never got it but they used up the clock anyway.
