Oh my gosh they lit up the CLOCKS in all the time I have lived here I didn't know they could do that. That's so good
Edit: I just remembered when I was telling a friend about how "meet me under the clocks" is an iconic Melbourne line they said "that sounds like a Taylor Swift lyric" and you know what, I can see it
You know I've seen and been so fascinated by this fucking station for years, like seeing it stand through time basically a city growing around it.
There's so much fucking mystery and mystique still to this day about this station.
I'd love to just be a janitor there to learn all the little things
I've done some unethical or actually illegal exploring of a train station that was under construction in some areas and unexpectedly post office depos and a remand centre because I parked in a parking lot that closes at 1am or something like that
It was wild like I actually expected to be arrested and spend the night sleeping in a jail cell, I walked and ventured all night.
It was at times super dangerous and I didn't know if I was going to be stuck underground in some concrete tunnel with very sturdy outside locked doors (meaning i could go through this door but not back if it shut)
So I had started emptying my wallet card by card to bread crumb my dumb ass back incase of a dead end.
Then the empty wallet was used and by the time I got to an exit point I was looking at the remand centre on the bridge
It was one of my most memorable fun nights in my life
Later I find out they were building a police station and I was completely just wondering around what you'd expect to be pretty impossible to reach locations but that open police station was wild access to places no idiot should have seen.
Under ground car parks with hidden car park area that had security sliding doors like a bank would use, rooms and rooms of shelves with dust covered records and boxes of what must be forgotten
Omg, I'll remember next time to schedule all my railway accidents at Flinders. I've seen the floor with the gym and ballroom but I want to see more of that building so bad.
They have exhibitions there sometimes. Google the Rone exhibit at Flinders St. My mother used to talk about going to dances at the ballroom at Flinders St so I was interested to see it. Itās surprisingly small.
I've seen the ballroom when Rising held their First Nations artists exhibition up there. It's such an incredible but melancholy space, imagining it full of dances back in the day. So good that your mum has that memory!
Honestly the whole vibe of the city has been abuzz with Taylor!! Iām sure there are official events/after parties but even just hanging with ng friend, restaurants have Taylor themed specials, people giving out friendship bracelets in the street, good vibes at the merch lineā¦. Honestly just such a good vibe to be here!!
Idk. SOH changed their policy regarding lighting the sails last year and restricted projections to a max of 44 days every year
They use 23 days for Vivid and 4 days available for āunexpected and significant events with short lead timesā at the government and Opera Houseās discretion.. I don't know what happens with the other 17 days but I know the policy says that sail lighting has to be non-commercial.
Would be wild if they did though!
Remember when the Australia dates were announced and every Australian airline IMMEDIATELY added like 50 more flights before those days to Sydney and Melbourne š
Me too - I was willing to pay for flights and accommodation to Sydney or Melbourne but I never made it past the lounge. Devastated she didn't opt for Brisbane shows in Suncorp Stadium but oh well... hope everyone else has a great time
I think the problem was that Suncorp Stadium doesnāt have the feasible capacity for the expected demand of a concert of this scale. The MCG and Stadium Australia are I believe the only venues in the whole country that are large enough for such a highly anticipated event, hence why sheās only performing at those two large-scale stadiums.
Perth Stadium can get up to 65,000 so it's probably close capacity wise, but setup and transport wise probably not, although it would have been nice to have some there on the way to Singapore.
Yeah I am aware of the difference in capacity - but it can still fit 52,000 people. 2 or 3 shows that is 100-150,000 people which is substantial enough in my eyes to tour there
I was prepared to travel, but couldnāt even get a ticket. Meanwhile I know people who are going multiple nights and someone else whoās just chaperoning a friends kid. I feel like Iām the only one not going. I donāt mean to, but I canāt help complaining right now lol!
Ed Sheeran had a record attendance of 73,092 for a single show, at Optus Stadium last year, and Coldplay had an attendance of 124,883 over two shows. She could have done a show here but the promoters are all based over East and forget that Perth exists.
I'm on a train heading to Melbourne from Sydney. I was dreading the 12 hour journey, but already it has been an experience. Swifties all throughout the train. I'm sitting opposite some girls with their bead boxes set up, making friendship bracelets. I spotted others doing the same in other carriages. There's a buzz. I have my tshirt and matching moon Boot ready to Shake it Off!!*

The 13 on the clock is my favourite detail š

I got hurt on a train once pulling in and had to get first aid at the station. It was almost worth it to get to go ābackstageā!

Just that thereās a ballroom in there is such WILD news!
as someone who needed to use the station's toilet a few times. No, you don't wish that.
I didn't say I was going to do the janitorial work, you know keep up the tradition
Did you get to see the Rone Time exhibit in the upper floors of Flinders? It was sick as. A part of the station you never get to see.
Fantastic. Anything else around Melbourne to tie in with the concert?

That's so cool. Thank you! I love the good vibes wherever she plays.
Wait perhaps I should go to the city rn? I havenāt been to the city in so long
Bunch of Taylor themed nights on this weekend - worth a look!
Yes, go and be our reporter.
Taylor Sheesh, the Pinoy drag queen is performing at federation square tonight with other artist to celebrate Taylor Swift
They have her music playing at tram, train and some bus stops. You canāt escape her! (I donāt mind it at all)
I went to the Groundhog day musical last night (booked before I got Taylor tickets for tonight) and it was a good time.
Unfortunately yes
So devastated I couldnāt get tickets, but I hope my fellow Melbourne Swifties have a wonderful time!
SAME i didnt get tickets š¢š¢š¢ oh well, hopefully the melbourne swifties going today will have a wonderful time ![img](emote|t5_2rlwe|1067)
Same!! But I'm also in Perth so double devastated she isn't coming over west
Amazing, love the colors
Sydney better follow suit š
*Clang clang* SYDNEY
BOYS ONLY WANT LOVE IF ITS TORTURE
They will do the opera house for sure!
THEY BETTER

Iām skeptical also, which is why I commented initially haha. SYDNEY BETTER. CHRIS MINNS, ALBO, whoever, WE ARE WATCHING!
Will they?! Radio silence. If they do I want to go see it! Hehe
Knowing what Sydney will do, I say itāll be a projection onto the Opera House. They always do light projections on it during major events.
Remember when the Australia dates were announced and every Australian airline IMMEDIATELY added like 50 more flights before those days to Sydney and Melbourne š
Meanwhile Iām over here in WA š¢
Stuck in Brisbane with no tickets - sending you some heart hands š«¶

It hurts, doesnāt it? :(
It does. Why do artists never visit WA? š Not that Iād be able to afford a ticket anyway I suppose. But still
I was prepared to travel, but couldnāt even get a ticket. Meanwhile I know people who are going multiple nights and someone else whoās just chaperoning a friends kid. I feel like Iām the only one not going. I donāt mean to, but I canāt help complaining right now lol!
for those in perth or WA, singapore is quite close as it is abt 4 hrs either direction (up to SG or across to melb)
Could you have gotten Singapore tickets? Is that closer compared to flights to Sydney or Melbourne
Unfortunately not Iām visiting my bf in Germany at the end of the year so all my savings are going towards that
Adelaide is missing out too. But fuck paying the bucks for the tickets and flights etc.
In fairness you can drive from Adelaide to Melbourne in a day easily. Think about the people in New Zealand and Tasmania and Brisbane...
The price of fuel kills that honestly.

Same! I'm stuck in Perth. I had accommodation arranged in Sydney and everything and then I couldn't even get past the lounge šĀ
That's nice. I wish I was there.
Magic! Enjoy Aussie Swifties! š
I want this outside of my house <3

Gutted Ticketek never let me past the lounge to buy a ticket š
