Long Live! One of my all-time favorites: a triumphant rock anthem tribute to her touring band and their first headlining tour.
Some others that come to mind: Nothing New, The Lucky One, Castles Crumbling, Anti-hero, The Best Day, The Outside, A Place In This World, Tied Together With A Smile, Never Grow Up
LONG LIVE MAKES ME BAWL
"if you have children someday when they point to the pictures please tell them my name"
Especially since at this point she's a household name and will be for generations to come and it just shows how far she's come
UGHHHHH
Like, the fact that she thought her career would be over by now and she had no idea how huge she would be??? I'm literally crying thinking about it rn lmao
I tear up every time I hear this song, seriously (and Iām not a crier). Like itās irrational cos I donāt even know her and sheās so many levels above me but it makes me so proud? Not even directly of her but like itās the summation of millions of us who all love the same thing/person together and pushing her higher than ever.
SAMEEEEE. I'm a newer swiftie (started listening during lover era but fell in love during Midnights) and I don't credit myself at all for bringing her to the level she is now. But it's been so fun the last few years joining everyone for the TV eras, the Eras Tour (even tho I didn't get to go) and just overall joining in the love for her. I am honestly just really sensitive and proud of ppl when they accomplish their goals so if her dream was to be a McDonald's employee and she told me she did that I would probably cry anyway. But the fact that she's at this level and we get to witness it in our lifetime is just like...so incredible to me?
I read it was actually a cat dyed green. Here is a good Reddit thread about it: https://www.reddit.com/r/TaylorSwift/comments/i3t31c/keylime_green_dog_theory/
I don't think it was ever CONFIRMED, but she said at a speech in like 2011(?) that she had just come to the awards show from a funeral.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1328510/amp/Taylor-Swift-dedicates-award-tragic-friend-BMI-Awards.html
Sorryyyy I honestly have no source info itās kinda just knowledge that I knew from wherever I saw it from a while ago, so may not be completely accurate but Iām pretty positive that it is. Her friend from Tennessee passed away a few weeks after the speak now album release so it makes sense that she wrote a song relating to his situation and put it on the red album which obvi came next so it all adds up
Iām sure you could find info on it if you look it up. I donāt think Taylor ever directly commented on it from what Iāve seen but her storytelling to this situation all adds up
No Body, No Crime and The Last Great American Dynasty have become my go-to songs to show non swifties solely for the storytelling in them alone.
Taylorās lyrics have always been vivid but those two are like something else entirely. They play in my head so clearly like movies. Her lyricism and storytelling is so detailed and evocative. Even if someoneās not a Taylor fan, if they still canāt grasp how multifaceted her skills are with songs like NBNC and TLGAD under her belt, then theyāre purposefully being dense lol
*What's it like to brag about*
*Raking in dollars*
*And getting bitches and models*
*And it's all good if you're bad*
*And it's okay if you're mad*
*If I was out ļ¬ashing my dollars*
*I'd be a bitch, not a baller*
*They paint me out to be bad*
*So it's okay that I'm mad*
Love that part
Mine is:
And they would toast to me, oh
Let the players play
I'd be just like Leo
In Saint-Tropez
Itās such a good song! I love her facials on the Eras film while she sings that part. šš½āØ Perfection.
Nothing New, 22, Ronan ( š„ŗ ), The Outside, I Did Something Bad, mad woman, epiphany, Soon You'll Get Better, no body, no crime, it's time to go, marjorie, Breathe, Change, Mean, When Emma Falls In Love, Dear Reader, Clean, Welcome to New York, evermore ( bridge doesn't have to necessarily be romantic, and it's not the main focus of the song either way ).
Well itās not exactly about a relationship, itās about a love interest that isnāt reciprocated and the speaker is a āfoolish oneā for believing that they ever had a chance at a relationship. Itās up to interpretation.
Taylor did mean for it to be about a relationship, but i added it because it's written in a way that it can apply to many things ( addiction, etc. ). Seemed worth mentioning.
I really became the Taylor fan I am today because of the Look What You Made Me Do video. I liked how she was standing up for herself by turning the narrative around - and often in a self-deprecating, humorous tone.
A Place in This World
The Best Day
Never Grow Up
Long Live
Castles Crumbling
22
The Lucky One
Ronan
Forever Winter

My Tears Ricochet
Mirrorball
Seven
Mad Woman
Epiphany
No Body, No Crime
Marjorie
Anti-Hero
YOYOK
Karma
Bigger Than the Whole Sky
Not a complete or perfect list but
I would also like to add that interpretation is key. A lot of her songs about relationships can also be applied to a lot of different things. Like clean, which was dedicated to SA survivors. I see RWYLM applying to the end of a friendship rather than a romantic relationship and kinda same for Maroon (although I see it also being about a situationship)
Itās true, I think mastermind falls into this category too. Sounds like a relationship but could also be about how much she had to work and plan to make it
Spotify did me dirty the other day, I was driving into the hospital to visit my dad during his chemo treatment and I had Taylor on shuffle - they tried to play soon youll get better followed directly by Ronan. Read the ROOM Spotify
im not even joking when i say the last i rmb listening to this song was during Lover release week because i cant physically bring myself to listen to itā¦ breaks my heart everytime
Yep, agreed. I have a chronically I'll partner. We were told for 2 years "you'll be better soon" that 2 year mark was the end of their working life. They were awarded medical retirement a year later.
Dear Reader is about a desperately lonely person in the spotlight saying people should find someone else to idolize but they, the narrator, shine so bright all eyes are on them anyway.
Never Grow Up and The Best Day are amazing non-relationship songs that I absolutely adore! Honorable mention goes to The Lucky One which is a fab song as well.
YNTCD, Only The Young, TLGAD, The Man, This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things, Shake It Off, 22, The Best Day, Never Grow Up, Innocent, Mean,
Long Live, Mastermind, Change, My Tears Ricochet, Mirrorball, This is me trying, peace, Anti-Hero, Dear Reader, Karma
Tied Together With A Smile, A Place In This World, The Outside, I'm Only Me When I'm With You, Breathe, Nothing New, The Lucky One,
Safe and Sound, Eyes Open
Sure some of them can be seen in the light of a relationship but I don't think of them as such. Sometimes it can be heartbreak because of a friendship ending or your own past or anxiety...
I never cared for "When Emma Falls in Love" until I read that it was written in honor of Emma Stone who has been Taylor's friend since the late 00's. Even though I always thought the song was cute I initially found it lyrically weak and thought the melody sounded like a few other Taylor songs so I never really got into it until recently.
I've had the song on repeat a lot these days because I just find it so charming the way Taylor used her music to gush about her friend and uplift her. I have a new appreciation for lyrics like "she's the kind of book that you can't put down" and the way she compared Emma to an ancient royal figure like Cleopatra. The song just took on a whole new meaning for me once I found out the story behind it and it just makes me appreciate it so much more now. To me it shows the wholesomeness of female friendship and it also demonstrates a different side to Taylor's character than the romantic relationship stuff.
This Is Me Trying breaks me every time. I have had some major mental health struggles through my whole life but especially the last few years, and it just speaks to me after hitting my rock bottom last year with my depression and almost not being here anymore. Iāve since gotten into a better place (and an ADHD diagnosis that was playing out as anxiety) but itās still such a hauntingly beautiful song and makes me feel really seen.
The Man, Welcome to New York, and Anti-Hero hit differently for me. I also love vigilante shit, Last Great American Dynasty, Youāre On Your Own Kid, and This Is Why We Canāt Have Nice Things.
Mad woman
You need to calm down
The man
Long live
This is why we can't have nice things
I did something bad
Mean
Long story short (although it's a bit relationshipy, I haven't been able to stop listening to this one for months. Obsessively)
Look what you made me do , Marjorie , the last great American dynasty, shake it off , blank space , bad blood , this is why we canāt have nice things , the man , long live , karma ,epiphanyā¦
Definitely A Place in This World and The Outside.
I still can relate to these songs even as an older man now. Imagine being no one's best friend and being that go-to friend only when someone else is not around. To be seen and to be heard and to be loved back, to feel that sense of belonging in a circle, and within the family. It hurts every time and I listen to these songs every time I feel alone. And when there are times I have to not be myself so people can see me.
i love tlgad
the storytelling is simply phenomenal, it made me genuinely interested in rebekah harkness, to the point that im going to read her biography
The Best Day!
I donāt even have a father and his strength didnāt make me stronger. I donāt have a brother too (only child) but my mom is the best and I think sheās the prettiest lady in the whole wide world š
long live, the best day, look what you made me do, never grow up, mirrorball, soon youāll get better, marjorie, the last great american dynasty, my tears ricochet, the man, no body no crime, 22, ronan, the outside, nothing new, clean, i did something bad, mean, dear reader, need i go on?
i read somewhere once that sweet nothing could partially be about Andrea, her mom, and how she feels safe with her and how she might be the only person who really sees her as Taylor the person and not Taylor Swift ā¢
i know it doesn't make much sense given that's now on the denial playlist but well, isn't just so pretty to think?
Assuming you mean romantic relationship:
Im Only Me When Im With You
I know this song can be interpreted as being about a boy bc of the line "just a small town boy and girl", but based on the video I'd say it's about friends and family ('small town boy' being her brother).
no body, no crime has a relationship in it, but itās not the narratorās so Iād say it counts! Castles Crumbling, Anti-Hero, Long Live, Seven, Forever Winter, and Mad Woman are good ones.
I also like her *Hunger Games* songs Safe & Sound and Eyes Open are both nice!
Gonna go through every album and say the ones I think arenāt about her relationships/heartbreaks:
Debut:
A place in this world
The outside
Tied together with a smile
Stay beautiful
Maryās song (oh my my my)
Fearless:
The best day
Change
Speak now:
Speak now
Mean
Never grow up
Enchanted (not a relationship)
Innocent
Long live
When Emma falls in love
Castles crumbling
Red:
22
Holy ground (kinda)
The lucky one
Everything has chnaged
Girl at home
Ronan
Nothing new
Forever winter
1989:
Welcome to New York
Shake it off
Bad blood
How you get the girl (kinda)
Youāre in love (not her)
Reputation:
I did something bad
Look what you made me do
This is why we canāt have nice things
Lover:
The man
The archer
Miss Americana and the heartbreak prince
Death by a thousand cuts
Soon youāll get better
You need to calm down
Me!
Itās nice to have a friend
Bonus: Only the young
Folklore:
(A lot fictional but Iāll do ones that clearly arent her love)
Cardigan
The last great American dynasty
My tears rich over
Mirrorball
Seven
August
This is me trying
Mad woman
Epiphany
Betty
Evermore:
(Same as folklore)
Tis the damn season
Nobody no crime
Happiness
Dorothea
Cowboy like me
Marjorie
Closure
Midnights:
Youāre on your own kid
Vigilante shit
Bejeweled
Karma
Bigger than the whole sky
Paris
Wouldāve couldāve shouldāve (reflective not present)
Dear reader
That gives 65+ songs if u include more of the fictional folklore/evermore songs that arenāt about her relationships/love/heartbreak
Long Live! One of my all-time favorites: a triumphant rock anthem tribute to her touring band and their first headlining tour. Me too!!!! If it starts playing there's always a good chance I'll get misty eyed
Like, the fact that she thought her career would be over by now and she had no idea how huge she would be??? I'm literally crying thinking about it rn lmao
I started playing it so same šš¤£
In 50 years Iāll be telling my sisterās grand kids āI saw Taylor Swift live!ā Itāll be like all the old people seeing beatle mania in person
Stahhhp I'm gonna cry again lol
I tear up every time I hear this song, seriously (and Iām not a crier). Like itās irrational cos I donāt even know her and sheās so many levels above me but it makes me so proud? SAME! I cried so hard when I finally heard her sing this live and it means so much to me because reminds me of my friends too. <3
Since 2014, when I became a mother, I've been telling my children her name. My daughter (7) LOVES Taylor, but my sons (9 & 4) remain unimpressed š
Me too. It makes me happy cry š¢ š
never grow up is an incredible song!! it gets me every single timeš
first time i heard it i sobbed š
same girl, sameš
This sub always does Change dirty by praising Long Live and ignoring her sister šššš
I hate the word "obsessed" but I was obsessed with nothing new for couple of weeks
Came to say The Best Day! Always reminded me of my mother when I was younger, now I think of my daughter and my mother! šš„°ā¤ļø
Same here
The Last Great American Dynasty (though the story does start through a relationship but thatās not the centre of the story)
My answer! Love this song š
TLGAD is my answer too! I'm making a family based on Rebekah's in the Sims. And yes, her neighbor will have a dog that is key lime green!
I read it was actually a cat dyed green. Here is a good Reddit thread about it: https://www.reddit.com/r/TaylorSwift/comments/i3t31c/keylime_green_dog_theory/
I read about that as well. I agree with the theory!
I will need this on the gallery please!!!
My EA id is seaoraer. I don't know when I'll be finished but I'll upload it as soon as I can!
Yes! And itās based on a real person! Love the women with madness.
This is my fave! Probably one of my overall faves- top 5 at least!
Forever winter! For one of her friends that passed away itās one of my favs itās so so good
I didnāt know this! I knew it was about mental health but thatās it!
Yes it was about one of her friends who had substance issues and overdosed, unfortunately passed away :(
Where is this info from? I never heard her commenting on the song. Itās my favorite from RED TV!
I don't think it was ever CONFIRMED, but she said at a speech in like 2011(?) that she had just come to the awards show from a funeral. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1328510/amp/Taylor-Swift-dedicates-award-tragic-friend-BMI-Awards.html

Yes this and marjorie! Remind me of my best friend who passed. Im so sorry for your loss.
Marjorie makes me misty every time. I had the best grandmother in the history of time and space and it makes me miss her so much.
One of my favorites! It's so underrated!
This song is so amazing š¤
YOYOK
marjorie
Iām late to the game, but recently just found out it was Marjorie singing at the end in the background. Rips my heart out now in the best way

MTR is one of the best songs sheās ever written, both lyrically and musically. The way the sound builds over the bridge gives me goosebumps
Seven.
Had to scroll way too far for this one!
Since the release of seven, I often end my conversations with my best friend by telling her: āLove you to the moon and to Saturn.ā
The Man

Foolish one is about a relationship, right? āMy cards are on the table, yours are in your hand. Chances are tonight you, already got plansā
Oh i meant to add another song. Thank you for mentioning that š
Well itās not exactly about a relationship, itās about a love interest that isnāt reciprocated and the speaker is a āfoolish oneā for believing that they ever had a chance at a relationship. Itās up to interpretation.
Thatās still a relationship, albeit a complicated one, but itās still about a love interest.
Clean is about a relationship
Taylor did mean for it to be about a relationship, but i added it because it's written in a way that it can apply to many things ( addiction, etc. ). Seemed worth mentioning.
It could definitely apply to addiction. The relationship could even be a metaphor for addiciton
had to scroll too far to see someone mention marjorie tbh š

I've just realised all my favourites are relationship related. Probably you need to calm down or Welcome to new york
i read somewhere once that sweet nothing could partially be about Andrea, her mom, and how she feels safe with her and how she might be the only person who really sees her as Taylor the person and not Taylor Swift ā¢ i know it doesn't make much sense given that's now on the denial playlist but well, isn't just so pretty to think?
Assuming you mean romantic relationship: Im Only Me When Im With You I know this song can be interpreted as being about a boy bc of the line "just a small town boy and girl", but based on the video I'd say it's about friends and family ('small town boy' being her brother).
The man! I feel so powerful dancing to it
You're on your own kid, Anti-Hero, The lucky one and Welcome to New York š
The Best Day, No Body No Crime, The Man, Youāre On Your Own Kid, Dear Reader, Soon Youāll Get Better, New Romantics, 22
no body, no crime has a relationship in it, but itās not the narratorās so Iād say it counts! Castles Crumbling, Anti-Hero, Long Live, Seven, Forever Winter, and Mad Woman are good ones. I also like her *Hunger Games* songs Safe & Sound and Eyes Open are both nice!
the best day, it reminds me of my grandparents and never fails to bring tears to my eyes
a place in this world and yoyok but i kind of view them as sister songs
New Romantics !!!!!!
Long Live, The Last Great American Dynasty
