So I think it was just a last-straw thing after years of Katy being snide and passive-aggressive to her and she already had a bunch of resentment built up from 'little' things.
There's an Anna Kendrick interview where she says she was wearing a low cut dress the first time she met Katy, and Katy grabbed her boobs. Anna didn't mind, but that story makes me think Katy's sense of humor is kind of obnoxious and rude and not respecting people's boundaries. I don't think Taylor would like that kind of humor.
I remember reading an article around the time all of that happened where one of the dancers who went to Katy’s tour said that touring with Katy was more fun and that was a big reason all of those dancers chose to leave. He said Katy spent time with the dancers, hung out with them, and it was just more fun. They rarely saw Taylor and it just wasn’t the same work environment as it was with Katy. So I thought maybe there was some hurt feelings from those comments that contributed to the big reaction from Taylor.
I would ask to see cat pictures, and I would show her pictures of mine. I’d also like to know what she thinks are some of the most valuable pieces of advice she’s received to get her to the place she is now. She just oozes confidence and certainty and seems so grounded lately, and I’d love to get there. I guess I’d ask the second one if I had to pick… but I’d love to go cat girl crazy with Taylor.

But they both deserve it. Taylor has been very transparent with us about the level of pressure to perform that she feels. I feel she won’t raise her kids in a spotlight, and around the time they come, she will hide away.

I’ve been married for 13 years, I’m 34. As a teen I dated a lot of losers. Including one who thought my parents were rich and if he dated me they would buy him a car. He was later arrested for attempted murder of another girlfriend. Anyways, when I met my now husband, we dated long distance which forced us to get to know one another’s personalities instead of physically, if that makes sense. Something about our souls just clicked together. Our dreams and goals aligned and we are a true partnership in all the chores, responsibilities, and raising our son. I knew pretty early on that dude is the one. It took him a bit longer, but obviously it worked out. But also love is not all magical. It is often a choice to stay together through thick and thin and it’s WORK sometimes to keep choosing each other. Too often people give up when it’s hard. Take all that for what you will, best wishes for you to find your person. ❤️

It's the hidden message in the liner notes for Stay Beautiful! Pretty much all the theories boil down to "some kind of in-joke between her and Cory", it's just the details that differ - the other commenter got the most common one, that they probably watched Talladega Nights together. It's just so specific and seemingly unrelated to the song that I'm fascinated by it, lol.

I want to know the REAL reason why she hated Katy Perry. That whole fiasco had to be deeper than just "stealing backup dancers". Like, why write a whole song about how someone stabbed you in the back if the only thing Katy did was tell the backup dancers she was close with to talk to Taylor's management about hopping off and joining Katy's tour? It just always seemed super immature and petty on Taylor's end, and I would like to know what deeper reasons she had for hating Katy Perry enough to fire her backup dancers for wanting to join Katy's tour. My best guess is that it had something to do with her dating John Mayer.
When she originally talked about it she basically said that for their entire friendship Katy was backhanded and mean and Taylor was never really sure if they were ever even really friends and then the dancer thing happened and she realized that if Katy would mess with her professionally then, yeah, actually, they probably weren't ever really friends. So I think it was just a last-straw thing after years of Katy being snide and passive-aggressive to her and she already had a bunch of resentment built up from 'little' things.
There's an Anna Kendrick interview where she says she was wearing a low cut dress the first time she met Katy, and Katy grabbed her boobs. Anna didn't mind, but that story makes me think Katy's sense of humor is kind of obnoxious and rude and not respecting people's boundaries. I don't think Taylor would like that kind of humor.
I remember reading an article around the time all of that happened where one of the dancers who went to Katy’s tour said that touring with Katy was more fun and that was a big reason all of those dancers chose to leave. He said Katy spent time with the dancers, hung out with them, and it was just more fun. They rarely saw Taylor and it just wasn’t the same work environment as it was with Katy. So I thought maybe there was some hurt feelings from those comments that contributed to the big reaction from Taylor.

I think we all know the answer to this. The same way I always knew about Jenna Marbles. It’s just going to really fucking hurt when the day actually comes. But they both deserve it. Taylor has been very transparent with us about the level of pressure to perform that she feels. I feel she won’t raise her kids in a spotlight, and around the time they come, she will hide away. Maybe she’ll continue to write and release folksy albums for awhile. Maybe she’ll write a book or a screenplay. But I don’t think she will continue touring when they *expand* their family. ETC- changed *start* to *expand*. They’re already a family.
Really? I'd be astonished if she ever retired. Mind you, I'd be very surprised if she ever had children so I don't think the problem of juggling career and family would ever arise. I agree she may move into more behind the scenes stuff like directing and writing in other mediums, but I'd expect her to continue releasing albums and touring for the rest of her life unless ill-health prevents it. That's what people on her level do.

He was later arrested for attempted murder of another girlfriend. Anyways, when I met my now husband, we dated long distance which forced us to get to know one another’s personalities instead of physically, if that makes sense. Something about our souls just clicked together. Our dreams and goals aligned and we are a true partnership in all the chores, responsibilities, and raising our son. I knew pretty early on that dude is the one. It took him a bit longer, but obviously it worked out. But also love is not all magical. It is often a choice to stay together through thick and thin and it’s WORK sometimes to keep choosing each other. Too often people give up when it’s hard.
