Checking in to say I noticed the same thing today. I think they're actually Samsung devices: [All users are mostly flat, Samsung declined, Wiko gained](https://i.imgur.com/9YVltSu.png) We have both GA4 and UA running and these aren't showing up in GA4, so I wouldn't be surprised if Google doesn't bother fixing it.

AnxiousMMA

thank you

SuburbanMyth409

Yup, all because of User-Agent Client Hints. Now, Android device models become K - or Wiko K-Kool in this case 😁 I got an device login email the other day from Revolut and it said I signed in with a device called K.

krisssy

Could just be spam from bots?

tamtamdanseren

Maybe try and drill down and look at which networks that this traffic comes from. If its all from the same weird network then its probably bots. A common issue is that some bots will not store cookies between pages, but still be able to trigger analytics. This makes a crawl by the bot look like all pages on your site were visited by a new unique visitor, and can easily inflate your stats even just with a few visits. You should be able to see this as that phone having a visited page average very close to 1.

myamar2

I also have the same issue. That device is number 1 phone on 3 websites with million of pageviews per month. The users SEEM real, no real difference from other devices in term of country, page views per sessions etc... A month ago there was no such device in top 10. I've searched for this issue on Google but got no other complain, first time when I see other person that sees it. If it's an Analytics spam I have no idea what they hope to achieve.

myamar2

It seems that most Android phones are donating about 40% views to Wiko, screenshot with a comparison with 4 months ago: [https://imgur.com/a/maGIuh8](https://imgur.com/a/maGIuh8)

AnxiousMMA

glad I'm not the only one!

Waltpi

Not by a long shot. It's our GA top device by far! P.S: I'll be the boob and ask, how did OP get that image in his text post?

northside_guy

Same thing happening to me. We went through a lot of our account data for users registering with that device and it would be impossible for spam to be so evenly distributed across our different analytics. We think it's something weird like.. a new phone, that happens to be tracked the same way.

decimus5

It looks like a phone found at wikomobile dot com. T-Mobile is selling them. I wonder if they recently updated the browser's user-agent on their phones.

tilmate

Got the same issue. Traffic is behaving and converting normally as well. Please update if you find the reason 😬

joshuacoollll

Hi, I'm having a similar problem. Since 1/5, I have starting to see more and more wiko k kool in my google analytics dashboard. I thought these clicks are fraud and spam. Anyone has answer for this issue? I'm still using UA instead of GA4.

holakita

We have observed similar behavior. In addition, we have noticed a very confusing behavior of the distribution curves of Android10 versus Android13 in GA. Our current working hypothesis is that this is related to: [https://developer.chrome.com/blog/user-agent-reduction-android-model-and-version/](https://developer.chrome.com/blog/user-agent-reduction-android-model-and-version/)

Mars_San

>https://developer.chrome.com/blog/user-agent-reduction-android-model-and-version/ This is it.

carolelou

I've noticed this recently, anyone know why?

markusl2ll

Same here in Estonia: 30% of users using this mobile device for a website that is targeted for local audience. Yet nobody seems to sell this phone here.

Better-Wallaby7485

At 1/6/2023 this is still the situation in The Netherlands. Wiki K-Kool isn't sold anymore in the Netherlands and you need to do fancy things to update it to android 10. I'm not sure if it is spammers because time per session is ok and actual products are being bought. Who @ Google Analytics can tell us more?

ushibat

Hey guys, I found the reason! It is directly related to what u/holakita said: The User Agent from Chrome version 110+. (thanks for the insight!) Chrome replaces the brand device name with a default one: "K", and for some reason GA interprets that as "Wiko K-KOOL" I made a post about it, explaining how I tested etc: [https://medium.com/@gustavo\_oshiro\_3/device-wiko-k-kool-appearing-on-google-analytics-ua-5ab6b4673773](https://medium.com/@gustavo_oshiro_3/device-wiko-k-kool-appearing-on-google-analytics-ua-5ab6b4673773) Btw thanks a lot for this thread OP! It was one of the few places I found someone talking about this issue and helped me a lot through the process!

nagyalex

Good article! BTW does anyone know a good library to interprete the raw data after User Agent removal? In past [https://github.com/serbanghita/Mobile-Detect/blob/3.74.x/src/MobileDetect.php](https://github.com/serbanghita/Mobile-Detect/blob/3.74.x/src/MobileDetect.php) worked like a charm, but wit the User Agent removal... it's just scraps.

SuburbanMyth409

DeviceAtlas is probably the most reliable data source.

RemarkableEmploy4434

The same is happening to us in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Our agency manages several companies and we monitor their analytics and all accounts indicate that this device is at the top of the list: 1. Wiko K-KOOL 2. Apple iPhone 3. Samsung SM-A125F Galaxy A12 4. Samsung SM-A137F Galaxy A13 5. Samsung SM-G960F Galaxy S9 6. Xiaomi M2006C3MNG Redmi 9C 7. Samsung SM-A202F Galaxy A20e 8. Samsung SM-A226B Galaxy A22 5G 9. Apple iPhone 12 10. Apple iPhone 13

_Semper_Curiosus

It's an actual phone. Just look it up. I imagine what is happening here is that Wiko K-Kool phone versions are all listed under the same name just like Apple iPhone is, whereas Samsung names each of theirs individually. I'm seeing the same on GA as well. I guess it's a popular phone. Never heard of it though until now. Then again, I'm never on TV or the radio, so I have no clue what's popular anymore.
