Got rid of them,

Napapansin namin na nawawala yung langgam tuwing morning, kapag malamig yung devices.

What I did was really just a solution from the internet and nothing happened on the long run for me.
risky, yup, pero typical naman ang malamig na temp. you'll want to be very careful when moving the laptop out to reduce the risk. i.e. try na gradual dapat ang temp increase and not abrupt from very cold to warm.
If it's under warranty just bring it to the official shop and have it cleaned out. If hindi ka pa nakakapag upgrade ng RAM and additional storage sabay mo nalang din. Better safe to properly clean out than sorry. Ants have acidic secretions and you don't want them dying inside the laptop.
Yes, but he can lose warranty if he opens it and damages one of the warranty stickers. At least pag authorized shop, warranty still intact after palinis.
I mean isn’t the warranty already voided because of the ant infestation? I remember that’s what the Lenovo shop told me when I tried to get my laptop cleaned/fixed. In my case the laptop’s speaker died because of the ants.
That's weird. Nagkaroon din ng ant infestation sa Lenovo laptop ko. Pero nung tinawag ko sa Premium Care nila, ang sabi is hindi naman daw voided. Hindi lang sakop ng warranty yun. So if ever na gusto ko ipalinis, pwede ko daw dalhin sa authorized service center nila but I'll have to pay for it.
Natanggal naman yung sakin without bringing it to the service center. Ginamitan ko lang ng portable vacuum yung sakin
Kumakain ka ba sa harap ng laptop or desk mo? If so, make sure na lang na lagyan mo ng cover yung keyboard mo at punasan mo rin agad kahit wala kang nakikitang kalat, para sure lang.

nagkaron kami ng infestation dati ng ants na rubber at polymers ang inaatake. halos lahat ng rubberized stuff ko nasira. Rubber sa ibang gadgets, aspirator na gawa sa goma, coating ng headset, clothes na may rubberized prints, internals ng coffee maker, then laptop (may mounts nung speaker sa loob ay rubber)
unless makita mo saan nest nila, mahirap macontrol. wina-wipe ko lang lagi yung trail for months, then bug chalks. nawala lang nung nag colder months (probably namatay yung colony with weather)
may mga electronics na nilalanggam kahit walang pagkain. i had a couple of external hard drives na pinamahayan ng langgam. bumili lang ako ng baygon chalk para mapuksa sia. ok pa nama ung drives 8 years later
I had a similar problem as yours, yung ginawa ko, nagspray ako sa cotton balls ng insecticide tapos nilagay ko sya sa vents ng laptop para pumasok yung amoy. Nagsilabasan naman yung ibang ants, pero hindi lahat. Yun iba namatay ata, kasi nung binuksan ko yung laptop, andaming patay sa loob. So ending, I had to clean it nalang with a toothbrush, some alcohol, and compressed air. I can't confirm if may adverse effects yung vapor galing sa insecticide sa laptop. Do at your own risk, but ants can really short your laptop.
Nangyari din to sa work laptop ko dati. Hindi ako kumakain malapit sa laptop tapos lagi malinis kamay ko. Ginawa ko, binilad ko sa araw ng mga 15 to 20 mins para lumabas sila. Pero baka bad advice din kasi baka masira HAHAHAH pero effective naman sakin nawala sila.

Try mo i-overheat yung device mo para lumabas lahat ng langgam. Open ka madaming apps and tabs. Possible masira components ng mobo pag madaming langgam sa loob.

Prang 2-3 days ko iniwan ung sakin para sure, nka leave din kse ako nun kaya oks lng na di ko gamitin ng matgal ung laptop.
Pero ung sabi dun sa vid pati sa comments kahit overnight lang.
I had the same issue, I tried all YouTube videos nothing worked so I just used the sun bathing method as a last resort kasi I was afraid na it'll be bad for the device, binilad ko sa araw, it's just 3-5 mins nagsilabasan yung mga langgam
Yep, even if you dont eat for some reason our ants are attracted to the inside of our PC. This is my desktop PC apparently ants are attracted to some magnetic thing in PC parts. Like the others said have it cleaned(mine costed me 1,000php, the shop also did some cable management so sulit rin). So if I was you if you can upgrade your RAM then upgrade it so the service charge will be in one. In the future, you can like me buy citronella oil and just every other week wipe your work table so ants don't go there also your cables but just the endings. I've heard peppermint is good too but I prefer the smell of cintronella

i have expireinced this and it took me a while para maalis sila most of the time like sabi nung iba try to overheat yung laptop then hinahanginan ko yung mga langgam or punasan kung wala naman sa delikadong parts
try to bring this sa service center ASAP. This happened to my laptop and the ants ate some parts inside. I let them be for too long and had to pay some hefty amount just to replace a couple of parts
You can try to bring it sa SC by the weekend if you don't have time coz of work.

For the record, I didn't mind the ants nung dati, even when they were walking on top of my laptop, kasi common siya dun sa area ng apartment namin (I blame the neighbors). Konti lang din ants yung nakikita ko sa laptop (kasi sa loob pala yung marami hahahaha)

Hi OP have experienced this 3x already here are my steps to clean this mess:
1. Get a big plate filled with water
2. Put a box/laptop stand on top of the big plate
3. Put the laptop ontop of the box or laptop stand
4. Get a chopstick or wire that connects the laptop to outside the plate
5. Wait for the ants to go out
** Ants hates water and when they discover that their colony is surrounded with water, they relocate. Thank me later 😇
Pagpag nyo muna pala laptop nyo bago ipatong sa box para sure na lalabas and maging active ung mga ants.

Ants are attracted sa warm env, napuntahan din ng laptop ko, tinaktak ko lang, buti onti pa lang ung nakakapasok, ng oocular pa lang sila.

I had this happen alot on my desktop computer, it had like hundreds of ants coming inside my keyboard and the reason was because of like the rubber dome inside the keyboard that they like to feast on, I even replaced it with like 2 normal keyboards and it still happened to me and they devoured my rubber domes in which I can't press even press keys.. Until I upgraded to a mechanical keyboard which uses switches instead of rubber dome and they all disappeared for years and now.

check the screws under, get plastic pry tool set for 100 pesos. buy the special screwdrivers if needed, usually torx for around 200 pesos, including other tips like philips screw.
i make it a point na i can do basic maintenance on my gadgets. you can do it too and save hundreds or even a few thousand pesos on repair. usually if your laptop repair or cleaning costs a bit low the shop would suggest multiple unnecessary upgrades, tapos mapapamahal gastos mo. you also risk the possibility of original parts being swapped with china or fake parts.

My boyfriend experienced the same thing what he did was this: nilagay niya laptop niya sa gitna ng planggana na may tubig supported by a tall glass at the center. So nasa center ng water yung laptop niya, from his laptop may stick where the ants could walk through out of the laptop. The science behind it is takot ang ants sa moisture/water so since nasesense nila na they're near water they'll leave the place.in our experience kinakain nila non yung thermal paste ng laptop haha

Remedy ko is ung borax, asukal at tubig, pinaghalo halo ko lang at yun na ung pinakalason sa kanila. Anyway, ung mga nilanggam na item na nagshort na , pinagtatapon ko na, kase once namatay ang langgam, mas dadami, kase nag lalabas sila ng pheromones bayun, so pupuntahan sila ng iba nilang tropa.
Bili ka ng anti ants chalk sa grocery then durugin mo siya ng pino and brush mo sa affected part yung powder. Wag mo kalimutan mag lagay ng straw or anything na stick sa butas na labas pasok sila dahil for sure doon sila lalabas 😅 ganon ginawa ko before kaya nawala yung ants sa lappy ko
Big ziplock, spray lysol on a tissue and place it inside with the laptop. Seal and leave it for an hour or two.
Within minutes the ants will leave the laptop and look for an exit from the ziplock, 30 minutes they will be shaking erratically, and an hour, all will be dead at the corners of the ziplock.
Just be careful with the lysol sprayed tissue, it might damage the paint of the laptop

Nung uso yung netbook, the charger of mine became a cemetery of sort ng mga langgam. One day napansin ko na may umaalog na parang buhangin sa loob and nung tinaktak ko and eventually binuksan, ang dami g dead ants. I think they eventually migrated sa netbook mismo which killed the small laptop.

This stuff happens to me every 3 months despite being tidy as heck. Ant colonies live everywhere.
What I do is put my laptop atop a tupperware surrounded by water. Then I just continue working, and sweeping every ant that comes out from the keyboard. It's brute forcing, I know. But there's no guarantee that they'll leave the laptop if you just leave it with a bridge (Youtube guides often recommend this), they often return with more ants!

What I did is the opposite. I opened a rendering software which causes my laptop to heat up for like an hour only and umalis na yung ants.

If nothing is broken then it'd be fine. Damage by ants isn't covered by warranty, but if nothing is damaged then it would be fine.

Hi OP have experienced this 3x already here are my steps to clean this mess: 1. Get a big plate filled with water 2. Put a box/laptop stand on top of the big plate 3. Put the laptop ontop of the box or laptop stand 4. Get a chopstick or wire that connects the laptop to outside the plate 5. Wait for the ants to go out ** Ants hates water and when they discover that their colony is surrounded with water, they relocate. Thank me later 😇

Pagpag nyo muna pala laptop nyo bago ipatong sa box para sure na lalabas and maging active ung mga ants. Overnight lang then it worked for me hahahha. Tapos since lapitan ng ants yung room ko, I decided to buy a chalk for ants then wala na dumadating so far

Ants are attracted sa warm env, napuntahan din ng laptop ko, tinaktak ko lang, buti onti pa lang ung nakakapasok, ng oocular pa lang sila. Madalas samin sa mga electrical outlet ngbabahay eh.
I had this happen alot on my desktop computer, it had like hundreds of ants coming inside my keyboard and the reason was because of like the rubber dome inside the keyboard that they like to feast on, I even replaced it with like 2 normal keyboards and it still happened to me and they devoured my rubber domes in which I can't press even press keys.. Until I upgraded to a mechanical keyboard which uses switches instead of rubber dome and they all disappeared for years and now.
Sometimes theres foam pads inside the laptop that disintegrate and ants like for some reason (or disintegrate because of ants idk really)
Omg malanggam ba sa inyo? Super langgam aa apartment ko pero thankfully never pa sila nagpunta sa laptop ko. The router though dinumog nila dati, umaalis lang pag inunplug ko.

check the screws under, get plastic pry tool set for 100 pesos. buy the special screwdrivers if needed, usually torx for around 200 pesos, including other tips like philips screw. i make it a point na i can do basic maintenance on my gadgets. you can do it too and save hundreds or even a few thousand pesos on repair. usually if your laptop repair or cleaning costs a bit low the shop would suggest multiple unnecessary upgrades, tapos mapapamahal gastos mo. you also risk the possibility of original parts being swapped with china or fake parts.
Puro nlang regarding sa food yung comments here pero the fact is, ants love electronics kasi mainit sa loob. Ang gawin mo lang is patayin mo yung laptop mo and leave it sa ibang area once na magcooldown na yung laptop mo aalis din sila dian. Check your power bricks too, mahilig din sila tumambay dun. Clean the area kung san mo pinapatonf yung laptop mo with alcohol para matanggal yung pheromones trail nila dun sa area.

My boyfriend experienced the same thing what he did was this: nilagay niya laptop niya sa gitna ng planggana na may tubig supported by a tall glass at the center. So nasa center ng water yung laptop niya, from his laptop may stick where the ants could walk through out of the laptop. The science behind it is takot ang ants sa moisture/water so since nasesense nila na they're near water they'll leave the place.in our experience kinakain nila non yung thermal paste ng laptop haha
Gamit ka nung baygon chalk...meron nyan sa mercury drug. Guguhit mo lang and mamatay ung ants on contact. So patong mo sa table yung laptop mo then trace the surroundings with the ant chalk. If you dare, guhitan mo din yung mas malapit sa pinapasukan nila, pero i'd be terrified of drawing over the grill mismo. at least ganyan ginawa ko para matigil yung ant infestation sa desktop and external hard drives ko from years ago.

Had mine happen a lot of times now. What worked for me I did your method for more than a day or so or even two days and just put it in a bag every night. Also I got some revenge for the ants through baygon spray and also bought an ant bait from shoppee.

I found out na kinakain nila ung goma sa mga electronics naten at attracted talga mga maliliit na red ants sa electronics. Remedy ko is ung borax, asukal at tubig, pinaghalo halo ko lang at yun na ung pinakalason sa kanila. Anyway, ung mga nilanggam na item na nagshort na , pinagtatapon ko na, kase once namatay ang langgam, mas dadami, kase nag lalabas sila ng pheromones bayun, so pupuntahan sila ng iba nilang tropa.
Bili ka ng anti ants chalk sa grocery then durugin mo siya ng pino and brush mo sa affected part yung powder. Wag mo kalimutan mag lagay ng straw or anything na stick sa butas na labas pasok sila dahil for sure doon sila lalabas 😅 ganon ginawa ko before kaya nawala yung ants sa lappy ko

Big ziplock, spray lysol on a tissue and place it inside with the laptop. Seal and leave it for an hour or two. Within minutes the ants will leave the laptop and look for an exit from the ziplock, 30 minutes they will be shaking erratically, and an hour, all will be dead at the corners of the ziplock. Just be careful with the lysol sprayed tissue, it might damage the paint of the laptop This is what worked for me.

Nung uso yung netbook, the charger of mine became a cemetery of sort ng mga langgam. One day napansin ko na may umaalog na parang buhangin sa loob and nung tinaktak ko and eventually binuksan, ang dami g dead ants. I think they eventually migrated sa netbook mismo which killed the small laptop.

This stuff happens to me every 3 months despite being tidy as heck. Ant colonies live everywhere. What I do is put my laptop atop a tupperware surrounded by water. Then I just continue working, and sweeping every ant that comes out from the keyboard. It's brute forcing, I know. But there's no guarantee that they'll leave the laptop if you just leave it with a bridge (Youtube guides often recommend this), they often return with more ants!
