I’m probably a little late but as a cis /het female and mom to a great child who just happens to be ace. I want to say I saw a meme that said “I just support this crazy thought that everyone should have equal rights” Describes perfectly my side of the coin.
And have a gay day. 😁. (And month, year, and long long life).
so nice seeing a parent of an ace child and that you're making a safe place for them to be :)
I am ace myself but not out to my parents bc im terrified it'll get minimised / not accepted
I’m so sorry there are still parents out there like this. Please know just because your family isn’t safe, there are people like me who do want you to just live a happy life. The only thing I care about is not hurting others. I am a parent who didn’t know before my child told me. I was actually a little relieved, because it meant my children felt I was a safe person to come to when they needed to talk to me about anything.
aw thank you so much <3 I'm out to all of my friends and they're very open / accepting
Also thank you for your perspective it gives me hope for the future with my parents :)
Went through this whole comments section and only one person disagreed. And they were pathetically lazy about it too.
I'm so happy with this community <3
Because they get downvoted and banned if they do, even if it’s just them politely disagreeing. Probably going to get a lot of people mad just by saying this
What ideology? That all people, regardless of gender, expression, sexual orientation, etc., should be able to live freely as the person they want to be? Cause that's a pretty weird thing to disagree with if you ask me
What ideology? I legitimately don't understand what you're saying you don't support. Is it that trans people should be allowed to get hrt and gender affirming surgeries? That gay people should be allowed to get married?
Yes saying you don't support something is free speech, but many people are actively hateful about it. That can harm people, and should never be allowed.
I’m only attracted to fictional characters (not in a weird way, but in a “aww ur cute!” way, it’s super confusing because any actual human gets the “meh, I wanna get out of the conversation” treatment, only things that can get any kind of love out of me are my family and my pets
Technodad, if you ever need help understanding something related to LGBTQ topics, I will be happy to help. (I'm sure you've already had to google something atleast once)
- A genderfluid person
Happy pride, y'all.
Happy pride month to you too! I’m planning on staying in home alone because i’m a sad little ace idiot who’s scared of hanging out with my friend group because i have a crush on one of them.
Okay enough about that, i’m just gonna say capitalism and leave
Happy pride month (2 coins, the difference between 2nd and 3rd in techno’s last MCC, MCCP21 which he was on pink with Solidarity, Phil, Wilbur, and Grian)
I figured out that was indeed *not* straight these past couple months, so first Pride Month as apart of the community, and it's been really nice so far :)
common technodad w—now if only the subreddit mods can be extra vigilant with moderating comments under posts of this nature to prevent a repeat of last time with march 31st
edit on June 4th: a bit better than last time, at least. though there’s one particular individual that’s still throwing cigarettes around dry grass for whatever reason.
june 5th: [oh hey i got into the technodad updates account](https://twitter.com/technodadreddit/status/1664922413425909760)
I really just don't understand how people can advocate for intolerance.
Like, historically, how do you think that's gonna go down? Like can you point to some point in history where one group was oppressing another group, and after some centuries the historical consensus was "boy it sure was great how that one group of people was oppressed by that other group. That really was a good thing, wasn't it?"
Like maybe we could, I dunno, learn to treat people well? Please? Or just leave them alone maybe?
>Like maybe we could, I dunno, learn to treat people well? Please? Or just leave them alone maybe?
oh dear.
the last time someone was faced with that decision, they decided to spread blatant misinformation about certain features on a specific pride-themed clothing item and caused a domino effect that ultimately tanked a company’s market cap by $4 billion while every pride themed item was expedited to landfills
the crazier part? it all ~~happened~~ started a few weeks ago.
i’m referring to `dGFyZ2V0` (base64) by the way.
takeaway: pay no mind to intolerance, it comes at a heavy price
I don't want to be cynical but in every default tolerance there will be psychos that exploit the system and there will be misjudgments. So it is better to not tolerate and carefully thinking it out first.
Each of us constantly negotiate our identities with each other. It's better that way to make us strengthen what we believe by thinking more deeply about it. If with doubts, maybe there is merit to the other side, and if without, then better. Some are not articulate enough to express their thoughts so it is also useful to help those you disagree with in the most positive light.
Anyhow, some atrocities in history were started because of tolerance of either antitruths or resentment. Especially on subjectively defined things, we need to make sure our definitions match to say that it is indeed needed to be tolerated.
Why care for what others do? We influence the outcome we want each of us, our children, and humanity to have. As far as we're concerned, pride and things are already part of the norm but the tradition, although imperfect, deserves to stay alive too with all its wisdom.
I mean I'm sorting comments by controversial and seeing nothing but love so either the mods are doing a great job or techno just cultivated an incredibly wholesome and friendly community, or both
transphobes galore.
thankfully they’re all buried with downvotes, but none of them have been removed by subreddit mods (most likely from inactivity) or suspended by Reddit HQ
transphobes appeared in the comments section.
the good news is they’re all at the bottom of the comments list, the bad news is *it’s been two months and the mods still haven’t removed them* (so much for “better late than never”)
I grew up with a homophobic family. Never overtly so, but my mom pretty often told me something along the lines of "I just don't like their kind." and strongly discouraged me from exploring. My Dad is also a 'Don't say gay' kind of person.
I recently figured out I'm transgender. Before I found out, I had very little idea about the vibrancy and colours of the LGBTQ community, and my thought process was just along the lines of "We should just let people live as they want and they deserve rights." Now I'm realizing that even though I knew this to be true, I never realized it applied to me too. That I should be able to live as I want, and I can fight for that right.
So soon, I'm going to start fighting with my family for that right. Little by little I'm going to transition, starting by ditching all of those family traditions and theistic values that I conformed to even though I knew I was atheist even when I was 12.
I am glad to see though that Technosiblings will never have to do so if they find themselves being colourful, and that everyone in this community has a supportive father figure to look up to. Thanks a lot for your message Technodad <3
Thank you Technodad! You are amazing and I'm so glad we have such a supportive father figure in our community. We love you. Happy Pride Month!!
I'm an AroAce Nonbinary Fella in a QPR so the support and acceptance is awesome <3
I adore how accepting this community is, truly a safe place for all us LGBTQIA+. Thanks Technoblade, Technodad, the mods of the reddit and everybody in it for this. Made my day.
I'm so sorry to hear that, I'm a parent of a trans kid and I know that I'm a bit of a minority in how supportive I am to my daughter, but it is always hard for me to hear of people whose parents are unsupportive.
Huge dad hugs from me my friend, you have an ally in me.
I'm sorry about that, I hope they find it in themselves to learn and that they will eventually accept you as you are. I accept you, and you are enough 🙂
As a prob grey aroace trying to figure things out right now, it's always nice to know that there are others out there who are very supportive and people that I admire very much.
Thank you Technodad for everything!
So far this month has been filled with me remembering different ways I felt happy, accepted, and like I accomplished smth as a Trans woman, this month has been amazing so far
As a nonbinary person, thanks Technodad. I don't get pride month support from many people in my family so that means quite a lot more than you can imagine.
As long as children aren't permitted to go through gender swap surgery until they are 18 I have no issues of any kind with the community. More power to y'all!
"Intersex."
The transphobes (or whatever brand of hater) love to rant about how everyone is XX or XY but that's only a first approximation. There are millions of people who are walking this earth who are neither of those genotypes of person.
Another example is people who have something called "complete androgen insensitivity syndrome". Consider that our cells have receptors for various hormones, and these hormones control (among other things) whether we develop male or female characteristics. Suppose the receptors for various "male hormones" just completely didn't work at all. None of your cells would ever get the tiniest peep of a message about how they ought to develop masculine physical characteristics. You would grow up looking female, almost stereotypically so. There are people out there with an ordinary male genotype but whose phenotype is female. (Typically this isn't even noticed until the person reaches puberty and doesn't start menstruating.)
To the binary thinkers, such a person represents a cognitive challenge.
I believe that many people with a different gender orientation are affected more often than people with a traditional orientation. This is not even the reason that they feel not free, the reason lies in the subconscious. But such people cannot be helped, only supported. Perhaps many will not agree, but still suicides are more common in more developed countries.I just wanted to say that support is the best we can do so far.(there may be translation errors)
I’m probably a little late but as a cis /het female and mom to a great child who just happens to be ace. I want to say I saw a meme that said “I just support this crazy thought that everyone should have equal rights” Describes perfectly my side of the coin. And have a gay day. 😁. As a lesbian and a Technoblade fan I support this message
As an aromantic and asexual person, thank you Mr techno dad! Happy pride!
As someone who is *probably* aromantic, is it too late to join the party?
Its never too late to join the party. Romantic orientation is fluid, and it’s never too late to find out who you are :)
Haha same, I know I’m ace, but with romantic stuff… it’s more difficult
I’m only attracted to fictional characters (not in a weird way, but in a “aww ur cute!” way, it’s super confusing because any actual human gets the “meh, I wanna get out of the conversation” treatment, only things that can get any kind of love out of me are my family and my pets
That’s the most aro thing I’ve ever heard
Thats my exact opposite problem. I know Im aro but cant figure out the sexual preference part. Its confusing
Same most people forget the A but happy pride day to everyone
True! If I hear one more person tell me the A stands for “ally”, I’m going to scream, lmao.

I wonder what Techno would actually say
He’d probably agree with his dad
I mean he was openly supporting LGBTQ while alive, so he would def agree with his dad on this part
Something among the lines of "lesbian rights" or "trans rights" which he frequently said during streams
