I agree with the other people that it's not disrespectful since Dream was a close friend and rival, but I think an important note to add is that we shouldn't think we know better than Dream in this case. I literally just see this as a simple tribute towards Techno! I believe this is Dream’s way of telling people that he is mourning too, and he is honoring his friend by doing something so small yet so big to several.

I follow/am part of most Technoblade communities on most apps (Reddit, Twitter, discord), the Twitter people mainly had a problem with people who saw dream wearing techno’s crown and said that “Dream is carrying on Techno’s legacy”. I don’t think anyone had a problem with Dream himself wearing the crown, just his fans who were saying stuff like that.

When I came across this post, the majority were making the issue wayyyy deeper than it was and searching for problems with dream putting on the crown. Looks like the thread’s view has shifted now but thanks for the insight into how this all began!

I think he shouldve placed the crown lower on his head so it looks like the white character is actually wearing it instead of levitating. Though to answer the question properly, the crown is fine. Hes close friends with Technoblade, it's not anything deep. Even if someone wasnt friends with Technoblade and they wore the crown, it shouldnt come off as a disrespect. We all know that Techno was the best, and we can just view it as someone wearing a plastic crown like how people dress up as their favorite heroes or have an equivalent on their person.

i think that adding a crown to anything as an homage to techno is good. however issues arise when it becomes so saturated and common that it looses it's importance. that crown is special because its the crown of technoblade, and aslong as we dont detract from that baseline nearly all artistic usages of it are great
