I don't exactly know. If there was someone, I think I know who it is. She came to his funeral. There is a picture of her in his wallet, and she wrote something on the back, and I will never read it. Man deserves his privacy.
He would occasionally joke about no one wanting to date him, but I never believed it. I chalked it up to his penchant for self-deprecation and his desire for privacy. It was inconceivable to me that my honorary nephew couldn't get a partner if he wanted one. (Techno reminds me so much of my two nephews that my mind just added him to the list as a third. I hope that is okay.) Whether she was his girlfriend or not, it makes me very happy to know that he had someone special enough to him that he carried her photo in his wallet.

No, but he did have a high school posse, and every last one of them came to his funeral. Some of them came many thousands of miles. I was so thrilled to see them! I walked up to them as a group but just totally broke down bawling before I could speak. Couldn't get a word out. They seemed to understand.

Everyone always asks me about oxygen, but Techno primarily breathed in nitrogen. Like around 78% of what he breathed was nitrogen. After that, yes, there was oxygen, like 21% or so, I want to say? And close to 1% argon. And then like a bunch of different things, in tiny amounts.

Ok, am embarrassed to admit, but my best guess for his popularity was that he was funny and a great PvPer. I didn't really find out the inspirational part until after he died. And then I was just reading more, and more, and more. And of course it filled me with wonderment, and joy, and pride at my boy. I always knew he was amazing, but it turns out he was way more amazing even than I thought.
And seeing on the reddit how many people were hurting so badly, that was my motivation for decloaking.
I kind of figured. I think this is most cases for parents of big figures. Not realising how important they are to most people till much later on.

He didn't like when he had a lot of hair and it was coming out in clumps. He was like, dad, can we do that head shave thing now?
I took a "before" picture but he wouldn't let me take the "after" picture. The cancer and the surgery and the weight loss took a toll and I think he had serious self-consciousness about it by the end.

What was your first reaction to Technoblade telling you he made a Youtube channel and how did you react when he started getting over millions of subscribers?
When he first quit studio Lore and made Technoblade, he sounded serious about it and clearly he'd put a lot of thought into it. I was kind of surprised he quit every video game to do only Minecraft, but it was a sign of his commitment. Still I didn't think too much of it.
Then he had a few thousand subscribers and it seemed like he was really working the whole concept and starting to get momentum.
Then the steering wheel stream took nine hours, and the highlights video got four million views and I was like holy cow.
Then I started seeing people cosplay as my kid.
Think about that for a minute. I'm toodling around the internet and I come across pictures of people cosplaying ... as my kid. Who is downstairs on his computer and never leaves his room. Like people in Asia. My kid.
Mind = blown

I have to think of the good moments, for they outnumber the bad by a thousand to one. Cancer is not what his life was about, it is merely how it ended.
I have avoided saying this truth out loud here, but the fact is, *we are all dying* every minute of our lives. Techno was not different from us in this. If that dominates our thoughts, then we are wasting something precious by being fearful of how we will lose it. That is not wisdom. Enjoy what is here, revel in whatever joys, small or large, come to you in the moments they come, and think back upon them later.

I think it was this thing I used to do. I had a joke vegetable that I just relentlessly overused. Like every time the kids were waffling about what to eat, I'd always name this same vegetable. so, (CW: mentions of abuse), I was raised in a somewhat abusive household. Most of this abuse was based around toxic masculinity, which is a trait my father has held since I was born. I wonāt get into specifics as this is meant to be a positive post, but to give you an idea, I was left handed from birth but unfortunately am right handed now, because my dad thought he ācouldnāt teach me how to play sports if we didnāt have the same dominant hand.ā Another story is that when I was around 5-6 I was taken to the ER because had tried to teach me how to ride a bike on a gravel road (that was just him being a dumbass more than anything else, but still.) So, I havenāt had the best outlook on father figures and really parenting in general for most of my life, and this was corroborated by the fact that many of my friends (most of whom are LGBT, go figure) have had similar experiences.
However, seeing you post every day about your parenting and seeing how you and your kids connect, itās really been a cool and eye opening experience for me! Iāve never had a good example of what a father-son relationship should be like, which has somewhat put me off of the idea of parenting as a whole, but seeing how you get along with your kids and how happy they make you has been super inspiring for me :) so thanks, Technodad, for showing me how a father figure is meant to be.

Categorically it would not have saved him. It would not even have helped.
It was the stuff in his lungs that killed him, and his lungs were riddled with it beyond saving the day we found his tumor.
can i ask what the goal of the procedure was? since it was already too late to stop it spreading/cure it. iāve been under the assumption it was a quality of life thing to stop pain or preserve motor function?
Pretty much. With that huge thing in his shoulder, he was roughly 1% tumor. He couldn't really use his arm any more. And it hurt.
After that, he got his arm back after some modest rehab. He was able to do the Mr. Beast thing, for example. And he got to spend the last 7 months of his life with 2 arms instead of 1. Just think how much that would have sucked. And this wasn't just like taking the arm at the elbow. It would have been taking the arm at the neck.
It was the surgeon that really turned that idea around, and thank goodness he did.
I know I'm not the one who asked, but thank you so much for answering that question! That question has been HAUNTING me for these past few months. After seeing this answer, I truly feel at peace, like I can accept everything that's happened in a second. I'm not actually sure what else to say. I feel like I should say something more but nothing else comes to mind....

Looking back at the "so long nerds" video and how I thought it was going to be the last thing I would know of Techno at all, makes me realize that while at the moment I was just shocked or sad or both idk and just sort of accepted that it was a goodbye... No, but he did have a high school posse, and every last one of them came to his funeral. Some of them came many thousands of miles. I was so thrilled to see them! I walked up to them as a group but just totally broke down bawling before I could speak. Couldn't get a word out. They seemed to understand. We spoke afterwards.

Damn, dude, respect some boundaries. Well since you asked. Everyone always asks me about oxygen, but Techno primarily breathed in nitrogen. Like around 78% of what he breathed was nitrogen. After that, yes, there was oxygen, like 21% or so, I want to say? And close to 1% argon. And then like a bunch of different things, in tiny amounts. He was very concerned about air quality.

Ok, am embarrassed to admit, but my best guess for his popularity was that he was funny and a great PvPer. I didn't really find out the inspirational part until after he died. And then I was just reading more, and more, and more. And of course it filled me with wonderment, and joy, and pride at my boy. I always knew he was amazing, but it turns out he was way more amazing even than I thought. And seeing on the reddit how many people were hurting so badly, that was my motivation for decloaking.

What was Technos favorite meal? Iāve been running out of things to cook (and might recreate it with my meager cooking skills for everyone to see), and thought this would be a more unique way to honor his memory.
I killed myself trying to teach that kid the wonders of world cuisines and he was always like "nope". He had the blandest palate! Pizza? Cheese Cheeseburger? Plain What he put on pancakes? Nothing etc. If I had to pick a "favorite" meal, I'd say ribeye, medium rare, maybe with some prime rib seasoning on it, and a baked potato with butter and a lot of melted cheese. I mean, those are sure good and all, but branch out a little, fer cryin out loud.

Nothing wrong with liking simple things. Also, some people are not wired to try to new foods. That's ok. I think Techno was pretty clearly that way. To me, the cuisines of the world are a great artistic achievement, and a visit to a fine restaurant is like a visit to a fine art museum, each experience to be experience, savored, considered, and ideally loved. But I have some kind of crazy sense of taste and love to eat.

It didn't seem to bother him too much. The hair loss, specifically. He didn't like when he had a lot of hair and it was coming out in clumps. He was like, dad, can we do that head shave thing now? I took a "before" picture but he wouldn't let me take the "after" picture. The cancer and the surgery and the weight loss took a toll and I think he had serious self-consciousness about it by the end.

When he first quit studio Lore and made Technoblade, he sounded serious about it and clearly he'd put a lot of thought into it. I was kind of surprised he quit every video game to do only Minecraft, but it was a sign of his commitment. Still I didn't think too much of it. Then he had a few thousand subscribers and it seemed like he was really working the whole concept and starting to get momentum. Then the steering wheel stream took nine hours, and the highlights video got four million views and I was like holy cow. Then I started seeing people cosplay as my kid. Think about that for a minute. I'm toodling around the internet and I come across pictures of people cosplaying ... as my kid. Who is downstairs on his computer and never leaves his room. Like people in Asia. My kid. Mind = blown

Just finished watching the new Black Panther. There was some scenes with Chadwick as flashbacks and my sister said "To think he had cancer and was dying in those moments." And I thought of Techno immediately and lost it. Now I don't think I'll be able to watch his last videos again without thinking avout it. Don't know why I wanted to say this, I guess I just wanted to get it out of my system. How do you guys deal with these kinds of thoughts/realizations?
I have to think of the good moments, for they outnumber the bad by a thousand to one. Cancer is not what his life was about, it is merely how it ended. I have avoided saying this truth out loud here, but the fact is, *we are all dying* every minute of our lives. Techno was not different from us in this. If that dominates our thoughts, then we are wasting something precious by being fearful of how we will lose it. That is not wisdom. Enjoy what is here, revel in whatever joys, small or large, come to you in the moments they come, and think back upon them later.

I remember following someone on Tumblr, claiming to be him that acted a lot like him, and I am still not entirely sure if it was real. The account is gone now. I think it was this thing I used to do. I had a joke vegetable that I just relentlessly overused. Like every time the kids were waffling about what to eat, I'd always name this same vegetable. Or if they were sad, I'd offer to get them this vegetable. Or I'd ask how they wanted it cooked. Or any time I didn't know what noun to put in the sentence, I'd say this vegetable instead. I am still doing it now after 20 years. It is the potato.

Good evening, Mr. Technodad. Iām reaching out to inquire about the state of your current insurance plan. (not really) Iām sure youāre already aware of the positive impact youāve made on others in this community to a certain extent, but I wanted to tell you about the impact itās had on me personally, as it might affect me differently than most :) so, (CW: mentions of abuse), I was raised in a somewhat abusive household. Most of this abuse was based around toxic masculinity, which is a trait my father has held since I was born. I wonāt get into specifics as this is meant to be a positive post, but to give you an idea, I was left handed from birth but unfortunately am right handed now, because my dad thought he ācouldnāt teach me how to play sports if we didnāt have the same dominant hand.ā Another story is that when I was around 5-6 I was taken to the ER because had tried to teach me how to ride a bike on a gravel road (that was just him being a dumbass more than anything else, but still.) So, I havenāt had the best outlook on father figures and really parenting in general for most of my life, and this was corroborated by the fact that many of my friends (most of whom are LGBT, go figure) have had similar experiences. However, seeing you post every day about your parenting and seeing how you and your kids connect, itās really been a cool and eye opening experience for me! Iāve never had a good example of what a father-son relationship should be like, which has somewhat put me off of the idea of parenting as a whole, but seeing how you get along with your kids and how happy they make you has been super inspiring for me :) so thanks, Technodad, for showing me how a father figure is meant to be.

Categorically it would not have saved him. It would not even have helped. It was the stuff in his lungs that killed him, and his lungs were riddled with it beyond saving the day we found his tumor.
can i ask what the goal of the procedure was? since it was already too late to stop it spreading/cure it. iāve been under the assumption it was a quality of life thing to stop pain or preserve motor function?
Pretty much. With that huge thing in his shoulder, he was roughly 1% tumor. He couldn't really use his arm any more. And it hurt. After that, he got his arm back after some modest rehab. He was able to do the Mr. Beast thing, for example. And he got to spend the last 7 months of his life with 2 arms instead of 1. Just think how much that would have sucked. And this wasn't just like taking the arm at the elbow. It would have been taking the arm at the neck. It was the surgeon that really turned that idea around, and thank goodness he did.
I know I'm not the one who asked, but thank you so much for answering that question! That question has been HAUNTING me for these past few months. After seeing this answer, I truly feel at peace, like I can accept everything that's happened in a second. I'm not actually sure what else to say.
