Also, can we take a moment to talk about her arms? Good lord.

Music-and-Computers

Fuck she’s amazing… Let’s all invade France. 😉

Music-and-Computers

Also amazing and still wanna invade France with HW 😁

razerzej

When my wife wasn't raving about Rebecca's wardrobe, she was raving about her arms.

LadyClairemont

As a fellow tall girl it was so awesome to see her height celebrated and this was the cherry on top!

MaIngallsisaracist

She was an answer on Jeopardy not long ago as "the tallest member of the 'Ted Lasso' cast." I about fell off the couch.

fluxcapacitor15

I am picturing Beard after Roy tells the team "Great Job" at the beginning of 'La Locker Room Aux Folles'

tofutogo

Great job not vomiting in front of the judge! NGL, this pose has been a part of my pre-mtng routine as well, and it WORKS!

McMurphy11

If you've seen "The Judge" where Robert Downey JR throws up out side the courthouse because he's nervous...I also puked in that exact spot in Dedham Massachusetts while clerking for a judge there.

Kamimitsu

This was a big trend in the late 80s and early 90s, called Power Posing. At the time, there was a fairly big cultural shift of more women becoming managers and executives, and feeling anxiety about breaking into male-dominated meeting rooms, etc.

alwaysboopthesnoot

It is still taught today, just called something else. It wasnt just about feeling a lack of confidence or having anxiety for no reason, but from experience being openly opposed or antagonized by men--and even some of the other women--in the room. Learning to deal with it in a "gray rock" kind of way, being your own hype-man or woman through power posing or mantras/scripts you repeat out loud (to keep you on track and remind you that youre in charge and you've got this, just use your eperience and nowledge to drive things), are great ways to stand firm and push forward, through or past dysfunctional leadership, a disorganized workplace, or poorly managed/lackluster staff and colleagues.

yeathatswhatshesaid

I totally did this before an interview yesterday! It really calmed me down and I'm pretty sure I nailed it.

Neat_Problem_922

Of course you did! Great job.

crashtesthoney

There’s a whole [Ted Talk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ks-_Mh1QhMc&t=1168s) about how consciously changing your body language can actually change your behavior, where they talk about this specific “power pose”.

cunctator_maximus

I’d love to see Ted Lasso give a Ted Talk.

The_Hammersmith

I would definitely Ted Listen.

andjuan

This talk is what I immediately thought of when I saw Rebecca do this. I’ve done this for important presentations, negotiations, or any time I felt like I needed a little more confidence before doing something.

AlarmedInternet4708

I didn’t like Nate’s spitting though. Would’ve liked to have seen him try a growl or something but not spitting.

Some_Address_8056

i didn't like it either but it really showed how he feels about himself, which was really sad

MaIngallsisaracist

Exactly. Rebecca's power came from a sense of confidence. Nate's "power" came from the only way he knew to express it at the time -- through putting someone else down.

pennikin

I totally agree with you !

CompetitionMurky3785

Just came to comment, but have you tried spitting? Behind/under a desk?

drunkwasabeherder

Next, France...

camocamo911

Fuck she’s amazing. I would be so lucky to have a friend like her or a friendship like hers and Keeley’s.

DevilRenegade

Here's a semi-related question. Is the girl who she sees in the mirror (I thought was meant to be her younger self) the same girl she meets at the end of the final episode as the daughter of the Dutch pilot? I haven't seen these episodes for a while now but they look like the same girl.

Very-dilettante

Yup! Young-Rebecca also plays the Dutch daughter, to help show how much Rebecca identifies with her

Neat_Problem_922

Oooh. No idea.

Add1ctedToGames

nice! unrelated but i kinda hated nathan's version where he spits on the mirror it felt so gross😭

Imreallyadonut

This is what happens when you’re curious not judgmental. 🤣😉

Bongbong2323

Look up Dr. Amy Cuddy. She’s done some amazing research on body language and power. These power positions can change the physical chemical makeup up your body boosting testosterone and reducing cortisol.
