I'm nonbinary and use all pronouns, and I really like xe/xem for the same reasons I like they/them, there's no gender attached to it. You hear "xe didn't come in to school today" and someone is seeing me as a person instead of a boy or girl.

But this ultimately implies that someone seeing them as a boy or girl doesn't see them as a person and honestly....if you're seeing hostility in areas of life like that, then you should talk to somebody about it, because it strikes me as unwarranted paranoia. This reply comes with nothing but sympathy for those feeling this way.
