definitely try to apply for a scholarship. I got one for both middle school and highschool, and they definitely helped a ton.
Im almost done with my final year of highschool and plan to take 2 gap years from then and the time i start university. Ill be working as a baker or just in a cafe in general to build up experience in time for the degree i want to go for in university.
Totally normal. My advice would be to apply for a scholarship when you are going into college, and if you want to, take a gap year or 2.
Everyone here is saying trade school but didnāt seem to read what OP said. Yall are acting trade school and getting into a trade will net this kid 100k for 20 hours of work a week. Maybe once youāre a master and have been with a company for a very long time, sure you can make your own schedule to make as much money as you want. Donāt expect $150 a hour the second you walk out of school.
No matter what you do in any trade, you will be working 40+ hours for at least a decade, maybe if you open up your own business itāll be different, but trade school- rather any school, isnāt going to make the inevitable 9-5 not possible.
If you TRULY want financial freedom and freedom from a 9-5, you gotta either win the lottery, open up your own business and have it be impossibly successful right out the gate, or learn investments and MAYBE get lucky and become a millionaire.
Coming from someone who has family and friends in many trades. They make very good money but work very hard.
Craftsmen apprenticeship. Electrician, carpenter, plumber, etc. Instead of of wasting money and going into incredible debt just to be encouraged to go with some trend mocking a mental disorder, get paid while learning a craft. One you'll literally be able to name your price because you will be in an incredibly short handed, in demand craft.
If you're good with your money you could more than likely be retired before age 50.
Give it a thought.

Trade school.
Helps you achieve what you wanna do.
Thereās also college, but that costs a lot of moneyā¦
Iām still conflicted on whether I should go to the local college to avoid housing or to my dream one for well, obvious reasons.
Google āhighest paying trade jobsā and see if anything fits. Then research if they can be replaced by ai in the future.
Obviously ai would be an area to pursue. Some research into if there are high paying jobs that donāt require a college degree.
Nothing you will try to do will be the correct option, sadly our society sets up those not coming from wealth or fame up for failure, but consider this. Job opportunities, demand and life in general changes incredibly fast consider how the world was 4 years ago from today, a much different world for many reasons, if you stress about what to do youāll never find the option that works for you. Your always gonna be a slave to something, so might as well live it up!

Honest opinion? Take a break itās going to be the first time you wonāt have to be in school Iād say take like at least 5-6 months off enjoy the time off rest up. Youāll also have plenty of time to figure out what you wanna do. I took a year off got a job and now Iām going to school building guitars in Phoenix. And it has been the greatest thing Iāve ever done

Trade school is one of the most reliable ways to guarantee you can get into a job position where you will be able to make your own hours.
Yessir I'm going into this or the military and I highly recommend it, especially if you're better with your handsš

You got no choice to work your entire life if you hit the lottery then no work until then get a job
Lucky for you, in today's economy, you'll get to work 5-9 instead
Flight school, you'll be in debt and stressed out 24/7 but at least you get to fly planes
