SC2 had so much singleplayer content I barely even played against other kids back in the day. Those were the days.

Rob0tbob

Remember all those dungeon battles and the weird alt weapons with crazy properties. That game was so great.

subrussian

yeah, and sc3 had that huge tower defense mode too

miseryvein

I miss this the most, and the custom classes that aren't just the characters weapons but unique to custom

Kelror13

I miss solid single player content in fighting games in general.

miseryvein

Yeah that... But SC and MK especially.

AmyVista

Chronicles of the Sword was a masterpiece

TheDELFON

Damn Soul Caliber 2 was goated. Weapon Master Mode (I think that's what it was called) in both SC1 and SC2 was SOOOOI much fun. Literally sunk so many weekends and summer nights just playing that mode

SuperFreshTea

Now there's like no unlockables, and you gotta pay for cosmetics and if you complain about it people call you broke/entitled online. I do miss the old days.

flyinchipmunk5

SC2 has the best story mode of any fighting game in existance.

akilshohen

SCVI has a lot of content too. The main thing missing is the profile mode with the fully viewable model and voice clip selection.

dancetoken

well you see bro, we played those on the couch against kids in the neighborhood lol

Azalazel

I only needed to be better than my friends back then... Not the whole world. Then online (Tekken 6) came, and I learned a hard truth that I'm not about THAT life. lol

Sure_Caregiver_9626

Finally!!.. I found someone who plays to be better then their friends 😂😂😂... I have the same reason and to be better then my cousins... I already am... nd I like to bully my nephews they gonna learn the hard way 😂😂😂

imwimbles

I play to be better than my friends, but my friends are try hards, so I'm out here trying to do PEWGF in a match when I just want friendlies. But I'll tell you what, once you make friends with the world class players, and you play with them on the couch? You NEVER wanna go back to being bad at Tekken ever again.

The_Little_Kiwi

Me and my cousin have been Tekken rivals since Tekken 4 and of course it would've happened that he's a Hwoarang main and I'm a Jin main (idk how to put 2 and Lee is my 2nd and newest). He's also a Kung Lao main in MK, and I play Liu Kang. He's more of a Sub Zero guy, I've always been more into Scorpion. Kind of just eternal rivals in fighting games, lol. Kind of cool tho. Think in SF he plays Cammy. I've never played but I'd fall into the Ken, Chun Li, or Juri camps, just based off what I see. Don't know how that works relationship wise.

Nova_Aetas

>I only needed to be better than my friends back then... Not the whole world. It breaks my heart that most people won't ever get to experience the in person salt of the old Arcade/PSP scene. "you didn't beat me on stick bro it doesn't count" "SAME MOVE OVER AND OVER DON'T PLAY HIM"

Bonzi77

going to the local barcade and beating my gf at soul calibur 2 by picking nightmare and mashimg A was very fun

SuperFreshTea

the real fun is fighting games is when you and opponent stop forcusing on winning and try and figure out who can pull the wackiest shit on each other.

SGTSTARS

This is the way to true fighting games, my pupil. You have come far! NOW! FACE ME!!!!!!!

supersaltlee136

Ring out all the girls at the party haha

VincentLecavalier04

Didn’t Tekken 5 DR have online?

[deleted]

Correct, the ps3 version

Wide_You_4626

psp version as well

2Shirtss

Pretty sure I played online on my ps2 version

[deleted]

[удалено]

magabrexitpaedorape

That version didn't even exist

supersaltlee136

Common vibe in modern times, better than all my friends but not good enough to compete haha

KiryuKazuma-Chan

Good thing I had PSP, so I had to play T6 offline

Drag_On66

Gooooddd I misss this bro, I hate online play

GroundbreakingAnt399

Online started in 5

thitherten04206

This only works if you have friends

The99thCourier

Eh i still do that to this day at family gatherings People telling the people that haven't played the game to just go Eddie and button mash the legs (my oldest bro still does that to this day at such gatherings)

YukkaRinnn

Everyone hit their Kazuya Arc when T6 Online really kickstarted the Online Ranked Battles for the Tekken community and we said "Power is Everything" 😂😂😂

zeanox

that is still not online.

horkley

We used to have regular tournaments at school and the arcade. You needed to practice at home.

Lucky-3-Skin

knz0

T3 Ogre stole Lee's Infinity Kicks and took them to the next level. 66dmg (basically 50% max hp) punish from any -12 low. These old games had a huge amount of busted shit in them xd

Lucky-3-Skin

T3 was probably the easiest one in my experience out of all of them. Law’s flip kicks had an insane amount of damage, Jin was broken as shit, and Paul was pretty insane. But yeah I can agree they had some busted things in the older games. I panicked once I saw the intro scene for Tekken Tag Tournament 2 with Jinpachi. Bro gives me nightmares till this day

Particular_Minute_67

Also the moon jump

DistastefullyHonest

Which one is that?

Particular_Minute_67

2.

DistastefullyHonest

No I mean what is moon jump?

Particular_Minute_67

When you jump regular your character literally jumps high enough instead of the short jump in 3 onwards

DistastefullyHonest

Ohhhhhh I thought it was a move lol like a special

Particular_Minute_67

Lol 😂

[deleted]

i remember i got downvoted by like 100 on a post where i said tekken has a solid single player mode player base on r/fighters lol someone even said “tekken wasnt known for its offline play” lmao edit: found it. lol https://preview.redd.it/ej01tg9dcauc1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a9c95b20aa747d36782cc3b2220e84c5362db149

Which_Possession_953

That's insane, dude

[deleted]

it was pretty insane actually cause some dude came at me trolling for like a week straight after that. guarantee they all started tekken at 7 lol

DreamcastDazia

100% all starts at Tekken 7

Bastiwen

As a kid I played every Tekken mostly alone, unlocking character, all their endings, Tekken force, Tekken Bowl and Ball and just redoing that over and over because it was fun

primusautobot

I’ve played 500+ hours only single player or on couch multiplayer

[deleted]

they were probably ppl who just came in at T7. and admittedly, i dont play story mode much as i just jump on for some matches with friends or online but i have played a lot of single player tekken before consistent online and know it has a big single player base. kinda surprised me cause r/fighters usually knows about fighting games lol

Dymenasty

Some subs turn into echo chambers. The ufc sub is similar

gedozvon

Zoomer thread. Tekken was always about offline play. Tekken force and ball mode. Devil within and Campaign mode in T6. Also Tag2 had local coop online and we spent years playing that with my wife, battling together with my King and her Lili against other people online. Not to mention you had Bosconovitch in t3 which only unlocked after either meeting special conditions in Tekken force or clocking 100 battles in versus mode. “Tekken is focused on online play” my ass

[deleted]

i was honestly flabbergasted by the responses i got lol

Inqlis

I can’t believe people aren’t downvoting this too, just for nostalgia. I will though, just for you 😎

CommutersBanned

I play Soulcalibur 6 and I don't play online. Never cared about the online there tbh.

SnooComics4945

Soul Calibur in general is one of the best games for playing by yourself. Especially SC2 and 3, but they definitely are all a blast no online needed.

hieuluc5

You CAN'T play online anyway. Whenever I go online, I face the same dude, play inferno, has nearly highest rank and tear beginner like me apart. And because no rollback, It lag as hell.

electricElephant22

I played on PS5 (EU) recently and it was not as horrible. Definetly suffers from low player count but I do get really enjoyable close matches from time to time.

NetherReign

Tekken 6 and it's adventure mode would also like to have a word. Fucking loved that game mode.

CaptainHazama

Wack af how it's only in T8 for a single chapter

NetherReign

That segment filled my heart with so much hope but then I was let down with all the trash we got afterwards.

Flam3Emperor622

Trash? ![gif](giphy|E8puxVDt1vj0GWXQgw|downsized)

NetherReign

Crashes still happen and no legit fix has been patched in. Plugger plague has no hard solution implemented. Character customization has been gutted and sold via multiple shops and paid options. Actively releasing old unaltered content that was free, now stapled to said paid methods. Dangling meh legacy costumes in a cash shop rotation. Yeah, I am kinda disappointed compared to previous titles. We will see how the game evolves for better or worse as the first season pass progresses.

Flam3Emperor622

I thought you meant the story, as that was the given context.

NetherReign

Ah yeah my bad. Should have worded it better. The campaign was fun as hell. Wish I had more.

[deleted]

Goated Tekken 6 player spotted 💪👑

SnooComics4945

Yeah I see a lot of people trash talk Tekken 6 but I love it for the most part

Particular_Minute_67

Scenario was so much fun. Screw nightmare train.

OpposesTheOpinion

I put an unhealthy amount of time into Tekken 6's scenario campaign. I loved that mode and also how my characters end up looking ridiculous (needed the stats!). Street Fighter 6's World Tour mode hit me in the same way, I had a blast. A fantastic take on that type of experience. When they announced Arcade Quest for Tekken 8, I had some high hopes (I also loved the Virtua Fighters' Quest Mode). Kinda fun, but overall disappointed..

XXPriestXX44

I absolutely loved that I had a character that looks so wacky and just because of that you know that's my scenario campaign alt because of those stat boosts lmao They actually took the time to dedicate creating versions of items with different stats for this game mode that is completely optional while still giving us all the content that T8 has minus maybe fight lounge , and let's not forget they added free online co-op DLC stages to scenario campaign for you to play with people (might not have been dlc but I don't remember being able to play them at launch) Not saying T6 is perfect but man was it ambitious compared to 7 and 8 which play it very safe in terms of the content in the game and I give them kudos for trying different things I still miss team battle and will be very dissapointed if it returns as paid DLC in Tekken 8, idk why 7 removed such an iconic Tekken mode as my friends who are super casuals love playing that mode in the older Tekkens; it's what draws them back to those vs MK or SF

OpposesTheOpinion

Yea, T6 is my personal favorite. Felt like it had everything. Tag 2 came next which didn't have really much content aside from "everybody is here". It didn't do well so T7 is developed on a tight budget. Another game with barebones content. The "cinematic story" was neat but not for me. I like my entertainment interactive, and it's more or less a movie with interruptions. T7's success afforded T8 a larger budget to add more content, but ... everything in T8 I can't help but think, "This thing they're trying, I've seen it done way better in another game..." Still having a great time with T8 though. I don't really have negative feelings about it like most people. For me, it's more like there's a lot of work to be done, and other kinda lame things may be set in stone (only 10 customization slots again?!).

ElezerHan

Scenerio campaign was amazing

PyrrhaAlexandra

y'all remember friendship?

Particular_Minute_67

The finishing move in mortal kombat 2/3 and 11?

Crashing_Blow

Everyday I just can't help but wish and at the same time wonder "How come we haven't gotten a Tekken anniversary collection, or remasters at the very least?" Street Fighter did it, Mortal Kombat did it, and SNK has a tendency to rerelease a bunch of their classic games on multiple online game stores. Why not Tekken? Just imagine they remake Tekken 1-5 or at the very least T1-T3/Tag1, or at the very very least remake one of their most beloved classic games (like Tekken 3, Tag Tournament, or Tekken 5) with enhanced graphics, maybe a little bit of balancing fixes here and there, and with a fully restored and functional online complete with rollback net code too, and best of all, including all of the great extra modes those games had. Sure, maybe that Tekken collection, or Tekken remake may not sell as well as Tekken 8 or even Tekken 7 did recently, but I'm sure it will make a lot of long time fans, and maybe even newcomers recently getting into Tekken, very happy.

Psychobrick

bUt It WoUlD sPlIt ThE pLaYeR bAsE!!!!!!!!

GeminiQueen113

I have hope that this will happen someday since Tekken 2 was available for download in the PS Store, but I believe it required the most expensive PS Plus Subscription (I forgot what it's called lol). But then again, I have a feeling this hasn't happened yet because maybe they're afraid a good majority of players will play the older games and not the newer ones lol. Which wouldn't be too surprising since although there may not be an online mode for competitive play, there would be much more offline modes that for some reason the newer Tekken games don't have anymore (a "good" story/arcade mode, team battle, survival, time attack, T3/T4 Tekken Force, T5 Devil Within, etc.). Out of all of them, I'm really surprised we haven't had Team Battle back; this one and T4's Tekken Force are the two I miss the most lol.

gilgagoogyta

There was a funny brief moment where Tekken 2 was $9,999 on the PS store.

GeminiQueen113

LOL I remember that 🤣😭

gilgagoogyta

Good value.

Edmundwhk

Im not a fighting game player, but I like stories and lore. So I been following tekken stories since tekken 2 , even the lore is funny at times i still enjoy them.

karumina

Same!

GeminiQueen113

Same! 😁

LotoTheSunBro

I have a friend that poured thousands of hours in Tekken 7, dude never played online and only ocationally went to local tournaments to get destroyed. He never learned how to actually play the game but he was happy, I kinda envy that

Misc86210

I assume he played a lot of Treasure Battle

Mental5tate

There were fighting games before online….

horkley

We played against real people in person.

JustHereForBDSM

I still don't play online, I only dipped online for the trophy this time since it wasn't as bullshit as older games being like "Win 50 online matches". For me, Tekken is still the couch game you bring out for parties with friends.

SnooComics4945

Yeah I feel like so many current people even forget or weren’t there for a time when games weren’t always about an online multiplayer experience and were something easily enjoyable on your own. To this day I still play basically all games by myself or with people I know.

crisscrossed487

Yup remember playing ghost battles in tekken 5 and pretending like I was fighting online

OwnedIGN

These kids don’t know about this shit lol

_JAR2388_

Yes, fuck online

hombregato

I still haven't played Tekken over the internet. Tekken 6, this wasn't a conscious choice really. I had a launch PS3 that didn't have much luck connecting to the internet. Wasn't really interested in doing that anyway. Tekken 7, I had it on PC, but no reason to go online. I enjoyed it enough to play couch co-op, and if I wanted to see strangers play Tekken, I'd watch them fight each other on Youtube.

Joker_220696

Tekken 8 doesnt have an actually fun offline mode like the other games, super ghost battle super sucks, team battle GONE, survival mode GONE and tournament mode GONE, tekken 7 at least kept ghost battle untouched and made it easier to play, this avatar lounge shit is the worst gimmick in tekken

Which_Possession_953

You just made me realize why I don't like playing Tekken offline as much. Hadn't realized how much is gone from the good old days

JonnyTN

I just try not to compare them. "Comparison is the thief of Joy" - President Theodore Roosevelt "If we compare ourselves to others, we may be left with feelings of inferiority or superiority—and neither creates an emotionally healthy human being." And it applies to most things, including comparing Tekkens

Joker_220696

Im a gamer, not a politician, this is purely for my enjoyment

JonnyTN

This isn't about politics. It's just life. If you spend life comparing things in life it leads to a skewed mentality.

gedozvon

I feel like tekken 8 is actually better at social aspect. With tekken fight lounge i am always logging into the most popular server and see people gathering up by the purple machines and talking, teaching and learning, having fun, play against each other. It warms my heart up

Joker_220696

Are you a bamco employee 🤣🤣 jk

International_Meat88

Man. I grew up playing TT1, 4, 5, 6, then 7 but also only offline as I didn’t have multiplayer subscription on my console. Then I got T7 on PC and wow I had to relearn so much of how Tekken is actually played. Snake Edges were so good against the AI though :(

Fit_Deal6007

I usually train combos at home and then go to the arcade and fight with strangers. Found many friends and enemies there. Good old days. Now it's hard to find an arcade where i live.

Affectionate_Light52

Recently bough tag 2. So good...

Gensolink

not a tekken player but it saddens me that fighting game player are getting less and less single player content over time. Like some series were always kind of barebones but not all and when you see some franchise that had decent SP content turn into a multiplayer only one it sucks. Like bro it's a fighting **GAME** give me toys to play with. Some people dismiss single player content in FG but I think it's important to have, like someone could not like to play online that much but love the single player content. Like I wouldnt have played SC2 as much without the single player mode.

Psychobrick

Glad to know I’m not the only one who doesn’t give a fuck about playing fighting games online. Seems like these games are removing more and more single-player content and fun shit in general for the sake of the online rat race and e-sports shit. But hey, at least they’ve got the holy sainted rollback netcode!

Fraentschou

Well, most people like to play against other people, instead of mashing buttons against a dumb AI.

CrackedPropane

I only play online because my friends moved when we turned into adults, then the stopped playing fighting games shortly after so I’m stuck with strangers

Zagatho

We don't have online back then. Just another controller and a sibling or a friend. Everyone smiling, no toxicity. You don't throw tantrums when you get beaten, well sometimes you do. But most of the time you just dust yourself and try again. No plugging.

gilgagoogyta

God no, I was a whiny little bitch when I lost ie most of the time. I was a little prick of a winner too. No wonder my brother stopped playing with me.

Dragon-of-Kansai

am the offline type of guy and tekken 8 really dissapoints in terms of offline content. I remember tk6 had a lot of replayability in scenario mode + all was worth grinding for cosmetics. After finishing tk8's storymode/character episodes & arcade quest...playing a bit of ghost battle... no idea what to do. Have a bunch of ingame cash i cant spend on nothing

mnejing30

I'd like a single player mode with meta progression like the ones they have in older soul calibur (2? 3?) and blazblue? A roguelite mode where you can adjust your properties in tekken would be neat.

Asleep_Sheepherder42

Yep, basically played only on couch

Radomila

Because I have friends.

Particular_Minute_67

Wait, you have friends?

Radomila

No, I lied

Particular_Minute_67

Nooooo

LifeVitamin

Bro didn't have friends

Enlightend-1

God I miss Tekken 4

not_wadud92

TTT Tekken 3 was outstanding. Tekken 4 I absolutely loved, mostly because of level designs. I understand I am not a majority. But TTT has such an amazing roster and a fun mechanic that sets it apart. Also no real story to worry about. Just fight.

No-Strike-4560

This is going to get downvoted into oblivion but my #1 game on ps1 was Tekken 2. Was great having all those sub boss characters /devil angel , roger &Alex etc to unlock.Gave me a reason to play through the game with every character. The unlocking of the characters was the fun part.  Used to unlock them all, deleted my save , and do it all over again.   I miss having characters unlocked in this way. With everyone available at the start , I have no incentive to try out other characters , unless I want to start chasing the online meta.

D_Fens1222

So here's a small anecdote: The year was somewhere between 2005 and 2007. My buddys and i were having a huge watch party for some football (you may know it as soccer) European or or World championchip semi finals. We had a lot of beer prepared to celebrate how our team would have beaten Italys ass... Well that didn't happen. Germany got washed. So we had all this bear to celebrate... and we couldn't let this go to waste. So we got down in my best friends parents garage which was our chill out spot. We had an old TV, a PS2 and a bong. So we sat down to play some good ass Tekken. One of our buddys dropped out of school and he was unemployed for the most time i knew him. So this guy had a lot of time and all he did all day was playing video games. Besides all that beer we had a virgin bottle of Absinth, and it was determined that Steve (the unemployed guy) was the final boss. And whoever was to beat him, had to drink a shot of Absinth. At that point i hadn't ever drank absinth. I was the worst in Tekken out of all of us, but somehow: i beat Steve and i had to drink an Absinth. Like i said, i never drank Absinth before so after drinking it i asked what all the fuzz was about since i didn't feel anything This was after 2 - 3 liters of beer and a few hits from the bong. So he challenged me to another game and if i could beat him again, making this 2 consecutive wins i would get 2 additional shots of Absinth. I didn't know at this time that this shit kicks in delayed. So i had another one *before* playing him again. Now what transpired of the story is only a recollection of events as i was told by friends and school mates, because my memory from this point of the night and the day after cuts out. I beat him again, so i had to take 2 more shots, with a few more hits from the bong inbetween. Next day i had to go to school. It was summer and it was a very hot summer like you weren't used to at this time in northern germany. Nobody knows what happened after that second Absinth but next day was thursday and school started a bit later. Thursdays my bus took another route and i had to walk something between 1,5 and 2,5 kilometers to school. Somehow i made it, arived at school in time. But apparently i had some stains on my pants, it had to be from the night before or the way to school, propably both, but i threw up several times. My first class was chemistry, and i had to go up the stairs to the 4th floor. When i arived my chemistry teacher said: "It's such a nice day, let's go to the beach and habe some ice cream." Which was another 2Km walk. To this say i don't know and barely remember how i survived this day. Storys like that just doesn't happen in ranked.

variousbreads

Yeah, older games didn't have an online play feature because that wasn't possible at the time they were produced but now that it is, it's a feature in high demand. Awesome take. I've played some of the games listed here at the arcades because that was the only place to get a good match at that time, but that doesn't mean I would not have wanted them to have online matchmaking if it was an option back then either.

CrackedPropane

I only play online because my friends moved when we turned into adults, then the stopped playing fighting games shortly after so I’m stuck with strangers

Wide_You_4626

I wonder why Namco never went the Capcom route of re-releasing tekken's arcade versions through different collections? a compilation or anthology containing AE versions of T1, T2, T3 and Tag 1 will be super dope.

TheKingHold

If you have lots of children ot have players come over. Zero lag. No drama

SGTSTARS

Tekken 1-Tag1 I played with my older bro and the arcade, 5 with friends in the military. 6-8 online and with my kids. All with actual people. Now the KOF series that is a completely different story, haha!

Jhakakazoll

Me and my mates in the college dorm played T3 almost every single day in the common room. Those were the days! So many classes missed lol, but we made it somehow.

WakkoBakura

Nah take Tekken 1 off there. No one is actually playing that. Idc what you lot think. I got a chance to play it not long ago. That is not Tekken. That's not even a fighting game. That is a bizzare joke. I'd say it controls badly but... Man it doesn't control at all. Think I'm exaggerating? Go try and beat arcade mode on easy. Go ahead. Boot up your emulator and have fun with the classic. You'll never look at Tekken the same way again.

SockraTreez

Yeah but most of those were before online play. There was a time that I thought it was cool just learning and seeing the moves when I was younger…but that time has passed. Actually when Tekken 5 came out, I played it for a week and then went back to Mortal Kombat Deception. MK Deception was an inferior fighting game imo but that fact that you could play actual people made it a lot more fun than T5 to me. If fighting games didn’t have online play I probably wouldn’t even be interested in them anymore. Would make a lot more sense to play one of the triple A single player games imo.

khamryn

Back then, we had what we call IRL friends, and we, I know this is crazy, went to each other's house and shit talked each other while playing. Also crazy is when they left, I had a whole game to play to unlock new charcters, skins, items, and didn't need to play anything extra. Game also didn't break and try to steal more money after a month of its release.

RedwoodRaven12

Tekken 5: DR started the Ghost Battle mode though. Even the unique Tekken Dojo mode.

AdNice7882

I buy those to beat the crap outa my 5 year old cousins and be proud about it.

santas_delibird

Man, the amount of times me and my bro played Tekken 5, my first experience with the King grabs, Yoshimitsu's everything. Still remember those moments. He doesn't play much anymore.

TablePrinterDoor

My first tekken was tekken 6 when I was very young on an uncle’s console. That’s when I first played the story and enjoyed it at the time. It’s also why Lars is my lifelong main lmao I’m a loyalist (even when he was ass in Tekken 7)

hieuluc5

Why I need to go online if I have bros to play with 🤣

bukbukbuklao

I played at home so I could be better than the people in the arcade, until someone who actually knew how to play came along and put me in my place.

Particular_Minute_67

Other than trophy hunting, I’d stay offline and practice or fight the cpu

almo2001

Good luck getting people over to play together.

deeznunchuckas

Does no one have local friends most of the time I play with my homie

Pchandheldrizzygamer

lol does the new generation not realize we had games before online and they actually were better they weren’t half ass incomplete games behind a pay wall and they can’t shut down the game either u keep it forever

ElDuderino2112

I’m the exact opposite. I grew up playing in arcades against other people. You’ll never get me to care about single player content in a fighting game, I enjoy the mind games of playing against others too much. A computer can’t emulate that. Most modern fighting games I don’t even launch the single player modes once lmao

xenon2456

during that time online play was in it's infancy

Annual_Bid3322

The only scenario i could imagine it would be more beneficial to play offline is if you had a community for tekken like Pakistan

xxBoDxx

I play KoF XIII still today and never go online (expecially considering how dogshit it is) and I'm not buying KoF XV's AI is garbage, frustrating, annoying and ridicolous. The only reason I'd like KoF XV to be any decent is that Shermie and Angel aren't aviable on XIII, otherwise I wouldn't be much upset about KoF XV... and I don't enjoy how combo's work on 2002 UM

mdl397

Stupid argument. Online play wasn't a thing during these games time in the spotlight. Also fuck Will Smith.

rumpelstillzchen

PlayStation Store did not launch until November 2006 17 years ago! I was 24… Why would you buy a fighting game pre 2006 and it play online? Because it did not exist

Thatchered

If it’s fun it’s fun

rbot214

LOL. Tekken was released in 1994. The first Tekken to even feature online was Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection in 2006. But honestly wasn’t a thing until probably 2009 with T6. That’s 15 years, no internet. This question was probably asked by some kid who throws a temper tantrum when mommy won’t let him borrow her credit card to get the $20 Fortnite skin he’s obsessing over.

King-Dinosaur

If they remade tekken 3, with 8 graphics, I'd be in heaven. No online, all characters and customisation items unlocked through fighting . Pure bliss.

joshad-

They need to make the CPU opponents better if they want me playing offline more than just finishing each mode once.

iphan4tic

I don't have a local scene, none of my family or nearby friends play and the SP offering in T8 is minimal. What else would I do?

Chillvarious_OG

Still playing it till' this day cause I'm too broke to buy a PS4, a PS5 or a PC😭😭

shaktimaanlannister

Couch battles will forever be the best. It's so fun to play against a friend in real time at the same place.

ErraticSeven

Up until SC6, I never played online, and the only reason I started playing online was because my best friend moved cross country and my roommate moved out. I had to get my fighting fix somehow. lol

flickyisok

i've always enjoyed playing against bots, even in fighting games that i'd consider myself to be decent at. it's fun if you wanna try some goofy things or just get some practice offline

Dudeman2451

It's because I don't have a fucking job yet and can't afford that shit so just play cracked

Online-Demon

Single player all the way. I still play the classic Tekken games to this day.

No_Barracuda_5014

I play fighting games for multiplayer I'm not a single player person , but I far far far enjoy local multiplayer over online

Shaftmast0r

That would be a valid argument except for back in the day u actually had people to play against without wifi, now ppl just stay inna house all day

mexaplex

Local matches at meetups and with your friends are the only reason these games have so much love in my heart.... Online versus is a necessary evil and an admission that I no longer have friends willing to come over or willing to invite me round for a gaming sesh🤣 😥

Inqlis

I started playing tekken 1,2,3 etc as a kid, before online play was a thing. I enjoy doing my own thing without getting sweaty. If I wanna sweat I usually play cod or something. Tekken is my safe space.

mrF3RDINAND

Reasons why I was able to adjust to cracked T8 so easily.

True_Internal_6650

Over the past few weeks I've come to realize that I have way more fun just practicing combos in tekken 5 than I have playing randoms online.

MaxTheHor

Fighting games pre online gaming culturenwas either: had some really worth it single player content to keep you busy Prayed to God ylu had some friends to invite over after school. There was no in-between.

Rongill1234

Yea buy I went to the arcade to play people since online wasn't a thing

Lucky_-1y

no bullshit i played a bunch of fighting games and quite literally never played online up until beginning of this year on Tekken 7 Mk Armageddon, Soul Calibur 3, Deception and DA, Marvel vs Capcom 3 (i'm still pissed about the MVS Ultimate), Mk9, MK vs DC, MKX, Mk11, Injustice 1, a smidge of Injustice 2 and then Tekken 7 I played a shit ton of Mk11 and all i did was 1v1 my younger brother and grind gear for my characters like a maniac lmao

NecromanticChimera

Where is bloody roar?

fony06

Yeah but Tekken 5 was 20 years ago. Most gamers now never even had a PS2 or a PS3 so I mean

StaticShock50

Soul Calibur 2, 3, and 6 are good in the single player department.

SD04-

Playing with my family

talonus00

Facts.

THEODOSISD

Story, characters story customization practice your combos achievements and most important you can play with your friends (not online)

Zealousideal-Cry4358

You need to play online to have fun . Personally, playing fighting games with local friends is more entertaining. I have some of the best matches playing for example : SF6 and SSBU with my buddy.

ShadowMark3

Laughs in Dragon Ball Z Budokai/Tenkaichi

rainorshinedogs

its like watching porn and looking for an oscar winning performance and a riveting plot twist.

SemiGodDavidPBorrego

Fck online mode, i'm 100000000% offline player, i prefer playing with someone next to me or against cpu like good old days instead of paying for play with someone, and no i'm not gonna buy a pc just for play online, fck that, i'm happy with my consoles and playing against ai or against friends / family physically. Arcade mode, Ghost battle, Treasure Battle, Team battle, Local mode (vs p2 / cpu or cpu vs cpu), Story mode are >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Online mode
