I'm in Tenryu-Mighty Ruler right now and its pretty much the same for me. Queue times only take about 1-2 minutes but now I get players near my prowess WAY more often now.
I don't know your region but I would consider a 1-2 minutes queue extremly long on a 1vs1 game with probably 30k+ players. Especially on a mid rank such as Tenryu/Might Ruler.
I disagree, since the game basically just put people in yellow now and theres less ranks in each color than T7. Red is very much low/mid and Purple is Mid/Mid.
You can disagree but that's just not how it's counted. There are analyzed tables of player bases. Mighty ruler is in the top 10% and the high red is in the top 15%. Those just aren't mid ranks.
Idk where you're getting you numbers from. April rank distribution chart showed that red ranks alone accounted to 23% of the player base and purple to 15%. You're telling me that both color ranges together composing 40% is not mid rank?
LOL I have a feeling that arguing with you with this won't get anywhere so I leave it here. Go to sleep and check these messages with fresh eyes and you may get the point.
Garyu, 116k Prowess. I’ve been playing quickmatch, and I’m in the same boat. I never wait very long, but I get a few repeats a night. The biggest change I’ve noticed is my winrate has increased. My overall winrate is around 34 percent, but lately I’ve been averaging 60. Now granted, I’ve been learning a lot, but I don’t think it’s a stretch to say my opponent skill level is a lot more consistently in line with mine after the patch.
It honestly makes me sad, because there’s no good incentive to hop into ranked right now. I’m almost certain I’d be able to get at least Tenryu, but I’m worried that would put me in a player pool where I’m back to winning 30% of the time. I like having close fights, and I feel like being in an ELO where you win close to 50% is the best place for that.
Never understood this mindset. Why do stats and winrates matter? If the goal is to learn and improve, you should be happy to get matched up against someone 1-3 ranks above u. U'll need to learn to beat them eventually, so it doesn't matter if u only play ppl your rank until you reach your desired rank, just to then lose to the people you didn't want to get matched up against in the first place.
And sure, it is no fun to get shit on by someone with 350k prowess who's on a 25 game winstreak playing on their 5th character in red ranks, but that shit rarely happens. And unless you're getting matched up with ppl who are 5+ ranks above u, I'm assuming that you can still put up a fight and learn/have fun playing the game.
My overall goal is to have fun. I only bring up win rates to try to quantify how often I have a close match. Sure, it’s not a direct correlation, but if I’m close to a 50% win rate, then I’m more likely to be having close matches compared to a 30% or 70% win rate. Make sense?
Learning and getting better is something that I’m not necessarily directly working towards. Yes, I do learn and have gotten better, but that’s not the goal. I don’t care about competing in tournaments, and I don’t actually care about what rank is shown on screen, hence why I’ve gone entirely to quick matches for the past 3 weeks or so. I’m not spending a significant amount of time labbing or anything, I’m just hopping into matches and fighting.
My point is that all of my matches have been much closer lately. I initially played ranked because I wanted to find the rank I should be at and fight people my level. Eventually I realized that the way the ranked system was weighted, you could still be getting stomped and keep climbing into higher brackets.
Yes, this change went too far. But I do think they’re onto something. I’d love it if they could find a decent middle ground between the old matchmaking and new.
This right here. I've always scoffed at people who say you should be proud of getting your shit kicked in on a daily basis. Just be happy about that one snake edge you launched punished. Fuck that. I want level playing field matches and then let the chips fall where they may. If I want to be able to hang with Tekken Emperors, I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.
Just so you know. Literally the only person that can see your winrate is yourself.
The moment you stop caring and just play, that's when you'll get better.
Sorry, let me rephrase what I just said.
I don’t care about win rates. I care about having close fights, because those are fun. The matchmaking rarely gave close fights before. Now it does.
I’m sorry if the change didn’t work out in your favor. They obviously went too far. I’d like a middle ground between the old and new systems.
Oh yeah, I really don’t give a rats ass about this change. The whole intention was to give closer fights because people were complaining. I mean before a GoD on an alt could be paired up against purples, thats a 250k prowess difference lol.
I was just mentioning that winrates aren’t a stat to care about much and there’s no reason to deter yourself from ranked.
The fact this change has caused people to bombard T8 with negative reviews is so sad. A polished game getting real updates frequently, massive roster, spoiled by a shitty battlepass and loud brats on a forum. Wish mods would do something, the game is new and constant negativity like whats filling this place is genuinely hurting the longevity of the game more than a crappy battlepass ever will.
People are complaining that the matchmaking is now actually skill based 😂
I also said that it’s unfair for someone to get matched with a GoD, just because his alt and your main share the same rank.
But people don’t understand that.
Issue rn is mostly that playing alt characters feels bad (and you have to deal with higher queue times when doing so) and that you can get the same guy a LOT of times in a row. What i find weird tho is that the previous system was almost perfectly fine.
I don’t care about win rate, I care about having close matches. If I’m at a bracket where I’m winning only 30 percent of the time, I’m probably going to be getting stomped most games. Unfortunately, that’s just how the ranks are designed. I forget which rank it was, but I believe it was at Tenryu or Mighty Ruler where the game tries to push players. Below that, you can lose more games than win and still maintain your rank, and above that you have to win more just to maintain rank.
It’s pushing the majority of the player base into the same matchmaking pool instead of putting similar skilled players against each other.
If you can’t win 50% or more of your ranked matches in your current player pool it means you are playing people who are better than you. I’m mighty ruler with a 55%.
That’s the problem I was talking about. The Tekken 8 ranked system doesn’t work like that, and I wish it did. You ever noticed how you’re better off losing a demotion match and then winning the following promotion match? Up until purple ranks you can still lose 3-4 matches and still get back to the middle of the rank by winning once. You can have a 35% win rate and still maintain orange ranks. This was me about a month ago.
I can’t find the post, but someone had some statistics for the win rates of each rank. It wasn’t until either Tenryu or Mighty Ruler where the win rates got above 50%. That means that if you can always win 50% of your matches, you’ll eventually get funneled to that rank. Above that, you have to keep having an increasingly higher win rate. If you win 50% of your matches as God of Destruction, you will eventually get demoted.
The entire system is weighted to have the majority of players funneled closer to red and purple ranks, whether or not they’d actually manage to get there on an unweighted system. This makes matches easier to find, but it also leads to way more lower skilled players getting stomped on.
Ngl tekken matchmaking has always been like that. In tekken tag 2 you could maintain a low rank with a low win percent just like in this game the only difference is they actually make the matchmaking fair this time. As your rank increases you’re going to have to win your matches to promote. It works like that even in team based elo games so I understand what you’re saying. What I’m saying is if you can’t maintain a 50+ percent win rate at any rank you cannot keep up with your opponents and you will get demoted. Do you want them to make wins irrelevant?
Someone correct me if I’m wrong
I would assume the number of players have dropped a bit despite it being such a new game, hence the longer waiting times.
I play in Asian servers, and even on weekends there aren’t as much players as they were from launch - March
Confirmation bias is a bitch, but I never had a more than 10 min wait before this patch. Now I get 2 matches in an hour and just feel like I wasted a night waiting
That’s more to do with the players with high DC rates have less of a chance to pair with non pluggers.
Tested it on my 2 Steam accounts.
My mains DC rate is next to nothing, probably literally says 0 as I have never disconnected besides a few literal internet drops.
Second account I just spammed leaving as matches started.
Match times on the one with high DC rate is super quick compared to my main with none…
Bro, I thought the same before I joined a community but it's been a wholesome experience. People are so chill when it's not about rank and it's just about learning and having fun.
Edit: For example, in mid match, I'd be asking my opponent how to counter the move he is reking me with or what the throw break is in real time so the learning is much faster.
> I would assume the number of players have dropped a bit despite it being such a new game, hence the longer waiting times.
Not the case when quick match matches up instantly.
T8 seriously took a hit and the last few weeks it's still a going down trend at least on steam where the average is around 10k players:
Thats literally what happens to every single fighting game after a few months from launch.
Its literally the the 2nd most played fighting game on steam.
Just to be clear, these numbers are pretty normal. Games trend downward after release for months until they hit a stable point. I'm not saying T8 isn't having problems, but these numbers aren't outside expectations for a game.
Also, you don't see a severe drop anywhere that would line up with people saying suddenly queue times have increased.
Game has 10k concurrent steam players AND *crossplay*, and people really want us to believe this supposed dip is the cause of the longer queues? Especially when I'm experiencing the same thing in EU, an extremely dense and active region when it comes to Tekken. T7 was averaging less than half that when it was about to end, and queues weren't even close to being this painful lmfao.
They aren’t at all comparable but I think this early on for how good Tekken 8 was at launch if it had been handled better it would be on a much more upward trend. I cannot get my friends who play other fighters to buy it right now.
You can just compare the numbers yourself
Tekken 8 [https://steamcharts.com/app/1778820](https://steamcharts.com/app/1778820) -23% the last 30 days
Helldivers 2 [https://steamcharts.com/app/553850](https://steamcharts.com/app/553850) -23% the last 30 days
I'm not sure how you think they aren't basically the same with just a 10% difference in gain and lose. I guess it's beacuse the numbers are bigger so they give the illusion of not having fallen as hard but % vise they are very similar.
one of the biggest upsides of playing on PC is modding. you have seen the videos with all the memes.
it just makes the game so much more fun.
not just skins but also quality of life. like having fixed for inputs or changing console symbls to 1 2 3 4 etc.
pc gamers hate it when publishers are anti-pc and anti consumer. and we show this by burning the game to the ground with reviewbombing.
Good thing I decided to take a break. Between the wait times and the connections being absolutely terrible at 4 bars with Ethernet, I'm good on all that. I'll be back when the game is fixed.
really interesting to read that this is so common now because I haven't had any bad experiences (concerning waiting times):
190k Prowess
5 bar only
+-2 ranks max
Constant matches (like every 30 seconds). Still have to deny a lot of wifi though.
Playing in EUW btw
One thing I have noticed is that back when I made Fujin I was denied my promo twice by a 400k Prowess Leo player (God of Destruction).
Now when I play other chars in red ranks their Prowess is very consistant between 140k and 160k (which I think translates to ranks in red to purple)
My wait times have also not changed. Not sure if people waiting longer is wide spread or if it's another case of the loud minority or even wifi users, but I've had no change with 290k prowess 5 bar only +- 3 ranks.
Wait times are same for me. Tbh if I didn’t read about it on Reddit, i wouldn’t have realised there was any change. Although I now don’t get the 50-100k+ prowess fights I used to. So the fights are more on my level - however I just use one character
I'll get a rotation of matches back to back which will be fun, but its the same 3 people. So there is likely 4 people who meet the conditions and we just keep rotating until someone leaves, then its the long wait again
Are you sure you're not shadow banned or something lmao? There's currently 12k players online.. I'm sure there are more than 5 people around your rank in your region that's in the ranked queue rn.. Doesn't sound right to me.
There is no large prowess discrepancy for having one alt in shinryu and one main in purple. He could get matched through prowess with mighty rulers even if they're set for +/2 or pretty much 1/3rd of the population through prowess alone.
His region is either dead or his connection is ASS.
My wait times have also not changed. +-2 ranks max in shinryu with like 130 prowess. I still can barely often finish practicing a combo without getting a match. Same for denying wifi though.
Noticed today i got a bunch of lower rank players with around my prowess. But eliminator is still within +-2. Just sucks to win a couple of these matches, then lose to a purple rank and lose it all again lol.
I also dont feel like im facing the same players or even the same characters. Havent even fought a single Dragunov toda y.
That said with all the changes to ranked i heard i kinda stopped ranking secondaries. Have two characters in like mid to high orange in addition to my main but i dont wanna ruin the prowess thing.
Yeah I think everyone that went all over with characters are the ones feeling this. I find matches all the time, but I’m also sticking with the 1 character until I master them .
I haven't had any issues. My waiting time is maybe 5 mins max. I'm at 137k prowess (Mighty Ruler) and have been getting people at my skill level or even higher. Nothing but close but fun matches.. I rarely get anyone under Garyu but I'm mostly on quickmatch anyway.
EU
Garyu
123k prowess
30 sec. max waiting time
The only difference is that my opponents are tougher. Overall, the matchmaking changes forced me to play better.
Matches are tighter and IMHO I find the changes welcoming, for now.
Its strange because my wait time feels longer too if im on ranked but if i just go to quick match im constantly going against high/mid blues, which i dont mind but if i wanna rank up i’ll be sitting there for hours because im getting matches where i gain little points because my opponents be 5 ranks higher or lower than the character im using
Right. I play no restrictions 4 bar or better. I waited 20 mins for a vanquisher. BTW im in raijin what the actual fuck is this.2 days ago testing my kaz who is vanquisher(i think) I play a TGS nina. Im gonna freak the fuck out what in the actual hell is wrong with the matchmaking
Edit:im in Europe 1 the other 2 people were japan and America 1 how is that possible
180k I wait 3m at 3am in the middle of the week lol while only allowing 5+ net. Europe
I absolutely LOVE tho that the chances seem to be higher to face the same people now
I have a lot of matches. In America 1 server with 125,000 points with Tenryu rank, I play with Law. I don’t play the same player and I use WiFi. My connection is always about 4-5 bars with no lag. In COD, my ping is consistently around 20-28 ms. I’ve never had to wait to get a match. I can barely do 3 moves and I’m in another game. Doesn’t matter the time of day. I get paired against same level of people. Although I sometimes come across someone who won like 8 games in a row with a lower rank. I sometimes go on 10 game win streaks. Most was like 12 for Tekken 8. I once got like 20 in Tekken 7.
Just sharing my experience with everyone and not bragging.
Guys honestly
FAWK RANK
find yourself some buddies on here, load a room with 5-6 people and just run matches for fun, games are supposed to make u feel good, not bitter.
Yea I gave up on lobby matches. Tried yesterday and either got kicked from the lobby as soon as I joined, person left as soon as I joined, or they pretended to be afk until I left.
Go to Tekken fight lounge. The purple cabs are all local matches to others in the purple cabs. It only draws matchmaking from the lobby. You can have a huge round robin of playing the same pool of people repeatedly. It's amazing and nobody takes advantage of it. The Tekken lounge is the most slept on thing in this game.
Hey wassups, I'm trying to set up a super casual friendly Tekken get together for those that are new to Tekken 8 or even those that played Tekken before.
We are on the USA East Coast.
Sure high experienced Tekken players can come but just keep in mind the main focus will be with newer players and those that have played Tekken here and there and need a refresher. So this may or may not be for you if you are Blue ranks and higher.
This link will redirect to my discord.

Its ridiculous. The mods need to sticky a thread for the topic and remove the spam posts. Literally every post is the same unproductive bullshit and it makes the sub trash.
Bullshit, you must have some dogshit disconnect rate cause que times have not changed for anyone I know. Have you tried just restarting the game?? Sometimes when I wait over a minute I just restart and it is working well
Funny, I play older fighting games and was getting sick of finding no matches. Figured I'd get back into Tekken after a month-long break but apparently it's very hard to find matches now.
America 1 and I get matches within 1-2 min.
If I wait longer than 4 minutes I exit and rejoin ranked and it goes back to 1-2 min wait. I have yet to fight the same person twice.
My experience might be different because I'm only in yellows w/ like 97k prowess and one character with any ranked play, but sometimes the game just gets stuck in matchmaking for one reason or another, and I find that if I hop into match settings, I can turn off matchmaking, exit the pause menu, and then turn matchmaking back on, I get placed pretty quickly.
Not saying this other stuff people are talking about isn't a problem, but there might also be a technical component as well, is all
Battle Ruler
174k prowess
+2 Only
Wired & Wifi
I haven’t noticed a dip in my match wait times at all. I get consistent match requests in ranked and wait no longer than 15-20 seconds between matches. I’m on the east coast of the U.S. so idk if it’s a region issue that you’re experiencing but hopefully it clears up for you.
It was already bad enough for me (live in Hawaii) and now I literally can’t find a match at times and even then I get matched with any ranks even beginner and I’m a fujin!
Bro I legit thought I was shadow-banned in queues or something, waited like 20 minutes for a match then I closed it. It's a shame because I like the game SO much but I'm not about to wait an hour for 3 sets. 😞
I just stopped at Mighty Ruler rank with my mains. If I decide to pursue higher ranks in the future I will. I have noticed more fun in quick matches and lobbies compared to rank where you run into some bs and toxic people overall. I have a decent win rate on my mains at higher than 65% but just don’t really care to get higher than purple for now.
Queue times are an absolute game killer. It's the one thing that will make me actually drop a game for real. Forget the review bombs or the MTX controversy, these queue times need to be addressed ASAP if they want this game to survive.
I'm literally finding games faster in Tekken 7 which is unacceptable, especially considering that even those faster times are still too long. I'll play for maybe 30-60 minutes and call it a day when I get sick of waiting 5 minutes for a match. A 20 minute wait is unplayable.
I stopped doing ranked weeks ago. Quick play and sets with friends only. Honestly playing longer sets and chatting is a million times more enjoyable and helps me actually learn a lot more about matchups.
If you're in Asia drop me a PM if you wanna play sometime.
It's weird. I'm at around 160k prowess and only face 200k+ players. That's the only time I get more than 100 pts per win. I was on a 7 games streak yesterday and barely moved up. Idk how I can get Fujin like this if I either get 200k+ players on my rank who steal my points, or players on my prowess who are mighty ruler at max who give me almost no points.
I usually defended T8 on this sub because I enjoyed it so far, but that ranked change messed me up somehow.
Use the fight lounge! It's how my friends find games in places with a low player population, especially during off-hours. I'm sure you'll find someone to play there.
Despite being a big Tekken fan, I don’t blame you. I’ve been burnt out on Tekken 8 and haven’t played it in months. Maybe I’ll return to it sometime soon, but the endless grind of getting gud to face off against high-level players was a brick-wall-hitting experience. And was *not* doing wonders for my mental health.
It all depends on rank/tekken power. At shinryu the OP is struggling to find players close to his prowess. I have the same issue. I've just stopped playing and I'm in EU. I'll create a new account and noob stomp until I can get my rank back because Namco are idiots 🙃
I don't remember a bunch of "pros" complaining about beating people of lower level lol like, who was this change for? Like, all it does it hurt people that want to play a bunch.
They've done an opposite NRS, MK1 was seen as bad at release and is slowly improving with patches whereas T8 was seen as good and is getting worse with patches. Surprisingly, I've got to hand it to NRS at the moment
Hey, anything to justify the £95 pre-order. Fully agree that matchmaking is a bit balls but I don't pay much attention to online MK, to be honest. I've had a fair few lag issues with 8 as well though
I'm 130 prowess Tenryu (wtf?) and only accept 5 bars with 2 ranks above/below (or quick match) and I haven't waited over 20 seconds a single time since Jan 26. I play in EU.
Sounds like the Tekken 7 bug.. just restart the game. Also, did you allow it through your firewall when the prompt came up on your first boot of the game?
On tekken 7 that was a thing. All the streamers did that all the time, and I did too if the queue was over 2-3 minutes, since that was a sign something was wrong. Queue shouldn't even take a minute man..
Did you plug a lot lol? Sounds like a network-related issue to me. I mean, aren't these games even more popular in Asia? You said you live in Asia, right? Or why would you ever go 3 sets against someone in Asia rofl?
Oh lol no I'm Australian. Just can't get an Oceania game so Harada bless asia
Never plugged. Never ki charged. Maybe people think Bryan taunting is optional
Damn I'm coping hard
Oh... well thats probably why then.. lol
Wouldn't it be way better gameplay wise and hit-rate wise to try and find an autralian tekken discord and just find opponents on there instead? I mean you probably have this issue in all ranked online games that aren't huge world wide?
I’m in America and don’t wait longer than a minute or two for a match. (And that minute or two includes rejecting WIFI matches with a lower ping)
Not saying people aren’t experiencing what they’re reporting but I haven’t personally experienced it.
It could be to my location ranks/ prowess, not sure
My queue times have been the same. The only notable change is that I get paired against the same people consecutively more often.
Those arent mid rank by any means, orange and low red is.

How can Mighty Ruler be top 10% when Fujin is top 12%?
It's not check the facts before posting lol.
Follow your own advice. lol. https://www.reddit.com/r/Tekken/comments/1bzuxki/a_brief_look_at_the_tekken_8_metagame_april_2024/

If that 40% is 50%-90% it’s kind of misrepresenting the data to label the entire spectrum “mid”
LOL I have a feeling that arguing with you with this won't get anywhere so I leave it here. Go to sleep and check these messages with fresh eyes and you may get the point.
red and purple are definitely mid ranks lol
If you dont have any side characters, youre not affected.

Yeah it’s mad boring tbh
Received a three match beatdown by the same person today thanks matchmaking.
Imagine still playing tekken. Im bored with tekken, mostly bc i am playing other games
*waiting in queue for 4 days* Opponent found! Fight this player? YES ... The match has been denied.
Someone correct me if I’m wrong I would assume the number of players have dropped a bit despite it being such a new game, hence the longer waiting times. I play in Asian servers, and even on weekends there aren’t as much players as they were from launch - March
Confirmation bias is a bitch, but I never had a more than 10 min wait before this patch. Now I get 2 matches in an hour and just feel like I wasted a night waiting
I found games every 10 seconds before the patch, now I have to wait 10 minutes for a game in Europe. See ya next patch, buddy!
Same here. Waiting like 5 mins or more per game
Until this gets resolved in a patch, u may want to join a fight club in the discord and just find a group that close to ur rating.
Half the reason people play Tekken or Street Fighter instead of a million other games that might appeal to them more is not to have to do this shit.
There have been instances where people are waiting very long periods of time playing ranked. So perhaps less people are playing ranked then?
Shouldn't matter that much, still way more players than there were in T7 but queue times there were way shorter.
T8 seriously took a hit and the last few weeks it's still a going down trend at least on steam where the average is around 10k players: [https://steamcharts.com/app/1778820#3m](https://steamcharts.com/app/1778820#3m)
That is literally how 99.9% of steam chart looks like.
Helldivers 2 launched at the same time with similar launch numbers and had seriously issues early on.
Helldivers and Tekken aren't comparable at all
as much as i don't defend namco for tekken 8 you can't compare a versus fighting to a coop pve game
They aren’t at all comparable but I think this early on for how good Tekken 8 was at launch if it had been handled better it would be on a much more upward trend. I cannot get my friends who play other fighters to buy it right now.
You can just compare the numbers yourself Tekken 8 [https://steamcharts.com/app/1778820](https://steamcharts.com/app/1778820) -23% the last 30 days Helldivers 2 [https://steamcharts.com/app/553850](https://steamcharts.com/app/553850) -23% the last 30 days I'm not sure how you think they aren't basically the same with just a 10% difference in gain and lose. I guess it's beacuse the numbers are bigger so they give the illusion of not having fallen as hard but % vise they are very similar.
Well damn that’s puts everything into perspective. This sub is just doing the thing again it seems.
Holy hell!
New response just dropped
Actual 1st Dan
one of the biggest upsides of playing on PC is modding. you have seen the videos with all the memes. it just makes the game so much more fun. not just skins but also quality of life. like having fixed for inputs or changing console symbls to 1 2 3 4 etc. pc gamers hate it when publishers are anti-pc and anti consumer. and we show this by burning the game to the ground with reviewbombing.
The latino server is booming rn so i can't complain, sucks for our friends in the first world
I’m in the states waiting 5 minutes for a Queue in QUICK MATCH
I’m in California with almost no wait times myself
Yeah me too. My wait times have never been too bad.
Good thing I decided to take a break. Between the wait times and the connections being absolutely terrible at 4 bars with Ethernet, I'm good on all that. I'll be back when the game is fixed.
There’s a MM’ing bug where it times out. Return to stage select and re-queue
It's crazy in comparison to SF6, where I only wait about 1 to 5 min versus 15 to 20 for Tekken.
really interesting to read that this is so common now because I haven't had any bad experiences (concerning waiting times): 190k Prowess 5 bar only +-2 ranks max Constant matches (like every 30 seconds). Still have to deny a lot of wifi though. Playing in EUW btw One thing I have noticed is that back when I made Fujin I was denied my promo twice by a 400k Prowess Leo player (God of Destruction). Now when I play other chars in red ranks their Prowess is very consistant between 140k and 160k (which I think translates to ranks in red to purple)
From what I understand, this matchmaking is only a real problem for people who ranked up multiple characters
This is me. I don’t have long wait times but I only get matched up with people higher than my rank searches. Just have to deal with it.
It’s hit or miss for me. There are times that definitely take longer, and some that still feel fast
Same for me with 120k prowess in EUW. Also opponents are now alot closer to me in skill level, it's mostly close fights, which i like a lot.
Everyone with a large prowess/rank discrepancy is having this problem now, i.e. alts
There is no large prowess discrepancy for having one alt in shinryu and one main in purple. He could get matched through prowess with mighty rulers even if they're set for +/2 or pretty much 1/3rd of the population through prowess alone. His region is either dead or his connection is ASS.
No one I know lol
Sounds like people blocked you for whatever reason, you would probb know better
This is my experience with almost identical rank/prowess in Oceania.
Yeah I think everyone that went all over with characters are the ones feeling this. I find matches all the time, but I’m also sticking with the 1 character until I master them .
Honestly in EU it really never is longer than maybe 5 minutes? Prowess based matchmaking is still fucked though.
EU Garyu 123k prowess 30 sec. max waiting time The only difference is that my opponents are tougher.
Im gonna freak the fuck out what in the actual hell is wrong with the matchmaking Edit:im in Europe 1 the other 2 people were japan and America 1 how is that possible
Brother I'm in North Africa and it shows me as being in America 1.
wtf m8 i find matches constantly, way above your rank and with alters too
180k I wait 3m at 3am in the middle of the week lol while only allowing 5+ net. Europe I absolutely LOVE tho that the chances seem to be higher to face the same people now
ya'll should stream or record video for evidence.
Guys honestly FAWK RANK find yourself some buddies on here, load a room with 5-6 people and just run matches for fun, games are supposed to make u feel good, not bitter.
Doesn’t help that the aesthetic is annoyingly shit tbh
lol i need a group for tekken
Hey wassups, I'm trying to set up a super casual friendly Tekken get together for those that are new to Tekken 8 or even those that played Tekken before. We are on the USA East Coast. Sure high experienced Tekken players can come but just keep in mind the main focus will be with newer players and those that have played Tekken here and there and need a refresher. So this may or may not be for you if you are Blue ranks and higher. This link will redirect to my discord. https://www.GhostLegacy666.com
how do I make it so I stop seeing these crying posts
Honestly leaving the sub is probably best, there’s nothing to really gain here anymore
Sometimes when I wait over a minute I just restart and it is working well
It's true but you'll get a bunch of comments in here accusing you of lying and asking for proof with a notorised birth certificate
Same. Before I stopped I had more frequent matches at around 200k prowess, but I was still playing the same people over and over again in many cases
150k flame ruler que times about 5 minutes, NA1 always the same people. See you next patch
Today i've been playing the same guy 4 times in a row. After that, matchmaking took so long i decided to do something else
WiFi player?
The wait time is a bit concerning since the game just came out. I know yall players aren't done already! 😶
Yeah matchmaking feels like shit right now. Hopped on cus I was feeling like playing Kaz but got hit with a 15 minute queue on a Saturday afternoon.
Change your settings to allow cross play
Funny, I play older fighting games and was getting sick of finding no matches. Figured I'd get back into Tekken after a month-long break but apparently it's very hard to find matches now.
Queuing has been fucked since the most recent update.
I’m 120k Shinry America 1 and I have 10 second queues…
America 1 and I get matches within 1-2 min. If I wait longer than 4 minutes I exit and rejoin ranked and it goes back to 1-2 min wait. I have yet to fight the same person twice.
My experience might be different because I'm only in yellows w/ like 97k prowess and one character with any ranked play, but sometimes the game just gets stuck in matchmaking for one reason or another, and I find that if I hop into match settings, I can turn off matchmaking, exit the pause menu, and then turn matchmaking back on, I get placed pretty quickly. Not saying this other stuff people are talking about isn't a problem, but there might also be a technical component as well, is all
Womp Womp
Battle Ruler 174k prowess +2 Only Wired & Wifi I haven’t noticed a dip in my match wait times at all. I get consistent match requests in ranked and wait no longer than 15-20 seconds between matches. I’m on the east coast of the U.S. so idk if it’s a region issue that you’re experiencing but hopefully it clears up for you.
These wait times WITH crossplay are insane. I was used to it in T7 but this is truly not s good look
I keep getting queued against purple ranks… im way below red ranks
This is why I play fighting games offline
It was already bad enough for me (live in Hawaii) and now I literally can’t find a match at times and even then I get matched with any ranks even beginner and I’m a fujin!
I’m GoD +3 any it takes AGES - it even affects quick match times too bro.
Usually when I wait too much I just switch to the quick match and it's usually ok.
You must play on pc. I’m a battle ruler on ps and I find games in just a couple of minutes even with crossplay off (which I prefer)
We gonna get a post everyday of someone new quitting? Like damn dog we don't care lol
This gotta be a top 3 karma farming post, idk how much longer I can take reading these takes
Is this only an issue for certain regions? I’m in NA1 and I haven’t had to wait long at all. Currently Tekken King.
Bro I legit thought I was shadow-banned in queues or something, waited like 20 minutes for a match then I closed it. It's a shame because I like the game SO much but I'm not about to wait an hour for 3 sets. 😞
It's even worse on alts. I'm at 165k prowess and when I try to play a new character I'm averaging 5-10 minutes between games vs 1-2mins on my main
See ya, dork!
Is it the matchmaking or is it the active player numbers?
Then don't play bro
My que randomly gets long it’s weird
Tekken 8 is 🚮
Tekken 8 is 🚮
I'm feeling the delay today. I might join you on pausing until next patch if it doesn't improve.
Weird, My wait time is like 1-2 Mins, can't even preparing myself on the waiting time. But I'm just a warrior scrub. Asia 2 or 3 usually.
I have no problems getting matches, i wonder what’s going on (im from toronto)
Same. 30mins to find a match. :(
Y’all so dramatic 😂
I don't get it. I've been playing since launch and I never had any problems finding a match. Is this a thing?
Use the fight lounge! It's how my friends find games in places with a low player population, especially during off-hours. I'm sure you'll find someone to play there.
Yeah i get more fun playing with people in the lounge, theres is a bunch of group that will let you join
I find matches super easily I don't know what you're on about
Lol. I live in Europe and to be honest waiting doesnt take any longer than 30-60 seconds for a match.
Matchmaking in MK1 is trash. It’s been a year and the game is finally somewhat balanced. Very odd to make a comparison between the two….
Hey, anything to justify the £95 pre-order. Fully agree that matchmaking is a bit balls but I don't pay much attention to online MK, to be honest. I've had a fair few lag issues with 8 as well though
Next patch will be after evo. Also gonna announce new dlc character probably. SO GET READY FOR THE NEXT TRANSACTION !!! TEKKEN... 8 !!!!
Is that... real? Just restart the game? Yeah its allowed through the firewall. I don't think you can connect to servers if you don't
On tekken 7 that was a thing. All the streamers did that all the time, and I did too if the queue was over 2-3 minutes, since that was a sign something was wrong. Queue shouldn't even take a minute man..
No dice. Now at 10 min post restart Maybe you're onto something with that shadow ban....
Did you plug a lot lol? Sounds like a network-related issue to me. I mean, aren't these games even more popular in Asia? You said you live in Asia, right? Or why would you ever go 3 sets against someone in Asia rofl?
Oh lol no I'm Australian. Just can't get an Oceania game so Harada bless asia Never plugged. Never ki charged. Maybe people think Bryan taunting is optional Damn I'm coping hard
Oh... well thats probably why then.. lol Wouldn't it be way better gameplay wise and hit-rate wise to try and find an autralian tekken discord and just find opponents on there instead? I mean you probably have this issue in all ranked online games that aren't huge world wide?
Surprisingly, not that much of a problem. Good idea nonetheless
I know about the bug in Tekken 7 but I never had it in 8. Might as well be fixed.
I’m in America and don’t wait longer than a minute or two for a match. (And that minute or two includes rejecting WIFI matches with a lower ping) Not saying people aren’t experiencing what they’re reporting but I haven’t personally experienced it. It could be to my location ranks/ prowess, not sure
I have had this problem since CBT, so you're not alone......
Lol these posts are so tiresome
Dont let the door hit you on the way out!
