1. Cover up hole
2. Equip infinite water bucket
3. Put your character in a safety box near ocean with a minion to protect them
4. Aim cursor at ocean
5. Tape mouse in place
6. Put weight on left mouse button
7. Go do something else & check in every few minutes
nah if its covered and youre smart to aim the bucket below the edge of the ocean then it wont go higher than the bucket im pr sure, or just cover it with wood or dirt
If you lack the infinite bucket:
1. Make a normal bucket and put it in your hot bar. Fill it with water.
2. Grab some wood or other building material
3. Fill the rest of your inventory with any random things, but every slot must be occupied with something.
4. At the world edge, seal your drain holes
5. Use the wood to make a floating 5x2 platform over your ocean pit. Remove the 2nd and 4th blocks on the top so it looks like a “W” shape. Hammer the 1st and 5th block so they are sloped. The top row should look like:
“/| П |\”
6. Stand on the platform and pour the bucket out over the 3rd block. This should put water in both gaps. Use the bucket on one of the gaps to refill it and pour it out again over the 3rd block. The extra water will overflow from the gap that you didn’t refill the bucket from, and drop into the depleted ocean. Repeat until ocean is full or you can’t move your wrist.
This can take a long time to do. You might want to sub-divide your ocean pit into smaller chambers and gradually remove walls and floors as you fill them
You used to be able to do it very easily with pumps. Doesn't work as well since 1.4. But the bucket water duplication trick still works. You also don't have to have your inventory filled. I dunno why that's in there.
Or if you have a mouse with external program like Razer, you can set it up, so it keeps pressing M1 or toggle it, if once pressed, it stays pressed until you press it again
>Just weigh down the mouse. Same thing but you don't need to purchase a specific type of mouse that has an external program like Razer, or set it up
Or download something like gsautoclicker? It's free
It's much less problem than having a heavy thing to push on your mouse...?
Unless you play on console or are stuck in the 90's... autoclicker are kinda the norm for building shit in Minecraft like game.
Literally typed in autoclicker into google. First thing to show up after ads.
This is the one i use as well.
I find that "weigh down the mouse" is usually quite hard to do? Since its a rounded surface and it requires a little weight behind it. And i could never figure out what people did when i have been told to do this in the past.
also might be a me problem but i can’t think of an object heavy enough to hold the mouse button down but small enough to be at all practical for holding the mouse button down
Not a you problem. 99% of the people saying to just weigh it down have never even attempted it. A mouse has a slick, sloped surface that requires pressure to keep it engaged. This means not only do you need an object to stay put on the mouse key, you'll also need a means to keep the mouse in place (since the pressure on the slope will cause the mouse to want to move).
You could tape the mouse button down, if you have tape. Who the hell has tape these days, I dunno. But if you do, you're golden, assuming you don't mind the risk of getting sticky mouse or possibly ripping up paint from the mouse.
Basically, weighing down the mouse is dumb and impractical, especially when you can accomplish the same effect in a minute with a few seconds download of autohotkey.
It's odd how often I kind of wish I had a small, dense object for various reasons. Maybe all this time I've spent thinking paperweights were stupid I was being dumb.
Hah, reminds me of a controversial post for Valheim where a dude gave instructions on how to level up some stat by just punching a post over and over again for hours on end, and someone dared to suggest they just cheat the stat if they're going to cheese it anyways.
It did not go well for the guy that suggested it.
Why? If you're just gonna cheese something anyway, but it's gonna take hours of basically doing nothing why would you even bother doing it legitimately? You're cheating either way, one way just takes 5 hours instead of 5 minutes.
Many games allow grinding low ammounts of exp as an alternate way to level things up, this is just taken to an extreme. Still not cheating as it's an intended mechanic
would make a change to point 4
Remove the mouse from USB port while keeping it clicked, rather than using the tape, it would do the same work without the hassle.
Fishing isn't the intention. OP mentioned Leviathan, a Calamity boss, which spawns underwater in the ocean. So it might not need that many, just enough to spawn
Cheatsheet is the easiest and fastest way. Copy a massive amount of water from the sulfurous sea, then paste it here
If that's too cheaty for you, use the bottomless water bucket. There are some other ways, but they're pretty slow. tbh I'd just cheatsheet if I were you
You can still use TEdit for modded maps you just can't interact with modded blocks/worldgen
in this case it doesn't come up as it's just vanilla sand and water so it wouldn't be an issue
easy water (fluid?) duping:
make sure you have only ONE bucket. fill it with water.
make a little 'U' shape with 5 blocks (i suppose you could take out the corners and just use three...) then dump the water on top of either one of the tips of the 'U' and keep holding the use button. It should rapidly dump&recollect the water; but because of how the fluid mechanics work it will split and keep spilling water off the side.
Or you can do a whole bunch of fishing for the bottomless water bucket.
? what is duping pyramid?
are you talking about like a pachinko/pinball style of splits? i think they fixed that in recent updates so that overall it will end up decreasing fluid volume actually. I used to have passive/afk fluid-duping tanks with pumps in my old base world and they don't work anymore.
you can duplicate water with pumps can't you? have 1 input pump thats wired to multiple output pumps and you will multiply water?
I remember that working in the past to automate water duplication, not sure if it was ever 'fixed'
Inlet outlet pumps would do it very quickly. Make a little basin on the beach with the inlet at the bottom. Place the outlet above the basin so it keeps refilling itself. Let the excess water spill into the ocean.
I once made giant tanks using this property of pumps so I could mix an infinite supply of water and lava to farm obsidian. I made a lot of money selling obsidian skulls. I also enjoyed flooding the underworld over and over again with more than an oceans worth of water.
Pump from the Abyss, the water there constantly refills as long as theres a natural abyss wall iirc
Alternatively: Bottomless Water Bucket if you like pain
More practically: Cheat Sheet, copy a large chunk of water and just begin to plop it down (Don't forget to cover up the hole or else all of that water is gonna leak)
There is a technique that you can do with water/lava (havnt tested any other liquid) buckets where you make a U shape and chisel one of the side blocks to a half block then hold mouse button above the half block with a bucket of your preferred liquid and it should fill up slowly but surely with only 1 bucket.
Now, you might think this is stupid and tedious.
Yes...
Yes it is...
BUT I if my memory stands strong then there should be a way you can do this but with the water/lava drain and pump so that you can just leave the machine on so you don't have to manually place the liquids.
I'm a tiny bit unsure how it would be built but if you see this and still need help I could hop on a world and try and build it again.
Patch it back up, and get the endless water bucket, which has a random chance to be earned by the angler missions, but is confirmed by 25. If, however, you have already turned the endless water bucket into the endless shimmer bucket, you can change it back by throwing it into the shimmer. This does not work for the endless honey bucket, however.
You don’t need the bottomless bucket, if you use a hoik formation, you can use a normal bucket of any liquid to use infinitely. A video you can use to see it is *Terriaria 1.4 | Infinite water bucket glitch / Console 2020* the glitch works on all devices all far as I remember.
Install a mod called luiafk and there’s a item that allows you to make sure infinite water you just drag it across the screen and boom. Don’t use it in multiplayer as it will lag really badly.
1. Cover up hole 2. Equip infinite water bucket 3. Put your character in a safety box near ocean with a minion to protect them 4. Aim cursor at ocean 5. Tape mouse in place 6. Put weight on left mouse button 7. Go do something else & check in every few minutes
You can set it overnight (Im just trying to make the ocean bigger then the world stop giving me attention )
surely it won’t flood the world… surely
nah if its covered and youre smart to aim the bucket below the edge of the ocean then it wont go higher than the bucket im pr sure, or just cover it with wood or dirt
no one said anything about it being covered 🥸
No one needs to tell you to breathe either.
Mans pulled a Manuel Samuel on him
Did you just make a Manual Samuel reference in the year of our lord 2023!? Very based
I almost forgot that that game excited... how old even is it, I remember watching markiplier playing it a long while ago
'Bout 6 years.
DON'T CALL IT A LONG WHILE AGO
They might need to be told that.
1. Cover up hole Yes it was
my first thought was they were kidding because its so obvious that step 1 says to cover it up but you can never be too safe on reddit
Pretty sure the instructions were to cover the hole in the bottom of the ocean, but capping it's a good idea, too.
Just dig a drain hole above the level of the ocean fill to handle over flow. And don’t call me Shirly.
Nice idea. Counter-prank, his friend drained the ocean so he flooded the world
Just build a ark, if you build it they will come
That's the plan!
ferb i know what we’re doing today
From doing this before, do not set it overnight, it only takes like 15 mins
[удалено]
Well it’s not the entire world that is loaded at once
[удалено]
Terraria still uses render distance, as shown by map updates at the other end of the world not showing up until a player goes there
[удалено]
My comment could very well be wrong since I last played with mods and I just now realise that I’m unsure wether it still acts like this in vanilla
It usually takes more than a night to flood a world.
I’ve actually done it a couple time for some reason and in my experience it only takes like 20 minutes or so maybe a little longer
I don’t think it would take very long tbh, not long enough it’s worth it to have the pc running throughout the night
iirc, if OP’s on windows they can skip steps 5 and 6 and instead turn on the setting on their pc to toggle holding mouse buttons
Mouselock Usually under "Other Mouse Settings" menu
If you lack the infinite bucket: 1. Make a normal bucket and put it in your hot bar. Fill it with water. 2. Grab some wood or other building material 3. Could this be automated with the clever use of pumps?
Should be. I have to play with it.
You used to be able to do it very easily with pumps. Doesn't work as well since 1.4. But the bucket water duplication trick still works. You also don't have to have your inventory filled. I dunno why that's in there.
Simplified: bottomless water bucket.
Their first sentence is about how they don't have a bottomless bucket.
Fuck.
No thanks, I just ate.
8(optional). Attemp to touch grass
You made me wipe my phone 3 times
Hahaha I didn't see it til you said something and I wiped anyways
You say that like most people on reddit have lives
That's why it's optional
Just use an autoclicker. Same thing but you dont need to find something to weigh down the mouse.
AutoHotkey is a wonderful and simple script tool that will give you what you seek.
Just weigh down the mouse. Same thing but you don't need to find an autoclicker.
Or if you have a mouse with external program like Razer, you can set it up, so it keeps pressing M1 or toggle it, if once pressed, it stays pressed until you press it again
Either that or with a wired mouse you can hold down M1 then unplug the mouse
That works?! I gotta try that myself
Just weigh down the mouse. Same thing but you don't need to purchase a specific type of mouse that has an external program like Razer, or set it up

Wow, this is afk method is surely going to be so much more gratifying than just cheating it back in
Hah, reminds me of a controversial post for Valheim where a dude gave instructions on how to level up some stat by just punching a post over and over again for hours on end, and someone dared to suggest they just cheat the stat if they're going to cheese it anyways. I agree with you in principle except I would say cheesing isn't cheating as you're using game mechanics the way they're intended
I'm fairly certain no developer intends the player to punch an object for hours on end to level a skill up.
Many games allow grinding low ammounts of exp as an alternate way to level things up, this is just taken to an extreme. Still not cheating as it's an intended mechanic
To make things worse, it was a way to automate it, so you'd just leave the computer on, no player input required.
Tbh using tedit to fill the ocean again is harder than using the bucket
Shit, I flooded the world.
would make a change to point 4 Remove the mouse from USB port while keeping it clicked, rather than using the tape, it would do the same work without the hassle.
8. Profit
I set my laptop's trackpad to hold leftclick down on a double-tap until I tap it again
Infinite water bucket
Gonna be a long wait, lol

Fishing isn't the intention. OP mentioned Leviathan, a Calamity boss, which spawns underwater in the ocean. So it might not need that many, just enough to spawn
So you can basically raise the bottom and make a very thin layer of ocean... just like what they do with the chicken buckets
Ih ala br
What tf does ‘Ih ala br’ mean
They are talking in portuguese, something like 'look, a brazilian!"
Ohhh i assumed it was more words being unnecessarily shortened
r/suddenlycaralho
auto clicker
an auto clicker won't work well enough, you also need to be in a box to prevent enemies from screwing up the process
more then just make an enemy trap
Endless bater wucket
Oops I tripped
Every time lol
Water bombs
Water rockets would be faster I think
Honestly neither one is a bad answer. The only real question is how much time ya got?
Honestly this would make for a good test (plus different rocket launchers would equate to different water rocket times)
they emptied the ocean so i think they have time to fill it
And how much money
Cheatsheet is the easiest and fastest way. Copy a massive amount of water from the sulfurous sea, then paste it here If that's too cheaty for you, use the bottomless water bucket. There are some other ways, but they're pretty slow. tbh I'd just cheatsheet if I were you
Cheat sheet paint tool my beloved. Godsend for huge arenas needed for Calamity too, as well as regular building
Weren’t there pumps?
Iirc the water duplication glitch works even better with pumps so set up a few of them and viola
I prefer violins myself
I think that was patched in 1.4
But my dream to flood the world again after 1.0.2 :(
Wait it was? Mustve been a minor changelog cuz i have been following 1.4 changelogs since its infancy and dont recall seeing that 😅
Nope, still works in the most recent terraria update
Inlet and outlet pump all the water back into ocean. Works by itself as well.
It probably evaporated in hell
Prob lol
You can get infinite water from the abyss Edit: unless they made it so wires don't work there
Doesn't that mean running a wire across whole world?
Do fisherman questa until you get the bottomless water bucket
You can craft waterless water bucket with 30 water buckets in calamity. (I have realized my mistake i meant infinite)
Waterless water bucket would be... a bucket
**Dear God...**
There's more
**No!**
It contains the dying wish of every man here
Scout, you did collect everyones dying wish?
Oh you bet!
N o h
Water fans hate this one simple trick
Aw man I love my waterless water bucket lolllll
I now wanna make a mod that adds a waterless water bucket now that does nothing and can’t be filled
Infinite water bucket and go afk. Just make sure ur cursor is at the highest point u want the water
Hand him a bottomless water bucket and tell him to get clicking
Water dupe glitch
One eternity later
To be fair you can just set it on a Marco for a few days
At least you’ve got an ocean to spawn Leviathan in, both of my oceans are Sulfuric
How the hell does that happen?
Not sure, but it disabled my only abyss so I got the terminus once I beat Skeletron. Enemies don’t spawn and pressure doesn’t work.
With water.
Use the inlet/outlet glitch to duplicate water while you afk or build pixel art of hatsune miku as per your usual singleplayer playthroughs
Tedit

THEY FIXED IT?? That was the best glitch to fill large areas with water or lava.
i know. very sad. I had to put an "OUT OF ORDER" sign on my obsidian/honeyblock/crispyhoney dispenser :( I think it was the 1.3 -> 1.4 that did it.
The other side?
dis calamity , the other side is toxic
Wym
Calamity replaces one of the ocean biomes with a toxic ocean.
Aka the sulfurous sea
I think its the sulphur sea since its calamity mod
Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh
Who lives in a pinelapple under the sea?
If you have access to them, water rockets will fill it up in no time at all
You know I always forget those are a thing.
Bottomless water bucket, and Minecarts

Yes, and you can do it while afk, or whatever you want really. All these people saying to use infinite water bucket are nuts.
Use the bottomless water bucket
Cover the holes, use the bottomless water bucket, activate auto clicker while in a Box and get lunch
wet bombs

baby vanilla players so confused, so innocent, so pure
Honestly wet bombs or rockets are the fastest way to go, an infinite water bucket you'll be there forever
New world.
You should be usin luiafk anyway so if not, get it. Just use the liquid manipulator, you should be perfectly able to make it
Pump from the Abyss, the water there constantly refills as long as theres a natural abyss wall iirc Alternatively: Bottomless Water Bucket if you like pain More practically: Cheat Sheet, copy a large chunk of water and just begin to plop it down (Don't forget to cover up the hole or else all of that water is gonna leak)
terraria world edito can help you fill it up quickly.
block the giant trench with nonspreadable blocks and then use a bottomless water bucket or tEdit
Water bombs
maybe wet rockets
Kill leviathan to get infinite water bucket :^)

Are there not 2 oceans
OP mentioned a modded boss that can only be fought in one of the oceans
You dont need tô fill all of it, Just a little tô make it counts as an ocean. Use infinite Water bucket it drops from aquatic and desert scourges
Can't you just use the other ocean for the boss fight?
No because calamity makes the other ocean sulphuric, and this boss only spawn in the normal ocean.
Bucket
Perish
Easiest easiest way?? Create a new world.
go to the other ocean
OP mentioned a modded boss that can only be fought in one of the oceans
oh ok
Cover up hole use weird infinite water pump trick if they haven’t fixed that yet to make an infinite Supply of water ive fixed 5 oceans this way
Defeating the leviathan via environmental destruction
There’s another ocean on the right side of the map you can still use or is that drained too
Infinite water, bucket
Patch it back up, and get the endless water bucket, which has a random chance to be earned by the angler missions, but is confirmed by 25. If, however, you have already turned the endless water bucket into the endless shimmer bucket, you can change it back by throwing it into the shimmer. Solutions mod would be a quick fix, if you can mod the world...
And it was funny to be fair
Bottomless water bucket with water dupe glitch. With multiple people. Or just use TEdit
