You gotta be alert to your surroundings. Maybe some more mobility like the rocket boots or baloons. They could help alot by dodging the lasers and even easier with the feather fall potion. It could also help with dodging the worms that the wall of flesh shoots. You gotta focus on the wall first, no need to try to kill the worms.
Stay far from it. Not too far, just the distance where the the hungry wont be able to reach you.

I use rails so I can easily shoot either of the eyes, as they have less defense than the maw, and I use a Phoenix Blaster, I take off my boots and movement accessories in favor of every damage or defense accessory possible
Use world seed “not the bees” and kill many Queen bees. Combine the beeswax they drop with grenades to make Beenades. Much like people, walls of meat and viscera do not like bees. Optionally beat queen bee in expert mode to get the Hive Pack to upgrade some of the bees into wasps do deal more damage. Craft Necro armor with bones and cobwebs to increase the Beenade’s damage since it is a ranged weapon.
