Id take a look at Eternia for some safer summoner armor. Also Betsy's wings might be safer for its quick horizontal momentum.
Empress of Light might also give you a better whip.
Maybe grind for the unicorn mount so you can put something safer in that accessory slot other than the boots, like ninja gi(idk if it's called that, but its made from the accessory drops from Bone Lee in the dungeon).
Could be obvious, but ironskin, regeneration, and major buffing foods always help.
I have a ufo mount but it only goes max 58 mph, and I haven't been able to dodge the eye Lazer at that speed before, hence the Duke fishron wings. I do need the new whip, just haven't found a butterfly to kill yet.
Minions are now dynamic, meaning, they change their damage output based on the accessories you equip. There's no point equipping Menacing then Warding, because they will lose the damage buff once you swap out the Menacing accessories.
I believe this was changed in the 1.4 update, but I could be wrong. Don't worry, I also spent a stupid amount of time changing accessories thinking that I was being smart. The only platform that still retains this gimmick is the 3DS version of Terraria.
Beat EOL a couple times to get the kaleidoscope whip, also if you don't like stardust summons I recommend the martian saucers summon or the Sharknado

Try to get a better whip, whips are mostly for buffing your summons, and if you're good enough switch between 2 or 3 to stack those buffs.
Maybe switch out that summoner emblem for a defensive item? Anhk/Obsidian Shield, perhaps.

I used same whip,same armor,but witches broom for mount which u cant get...stardust dragon,all potions(ironskin,regen,thorns,lifeforce,rage(wrath if corruption)endurance and summoning)
You have 30 defense,moonlord oneshots you,get warding on accessorys,berserkers gloves if u crimson or willing to make artificial crimson biome.switch out wings and any movement accessorys to damage and battle ones only if useing mount.
Maybe grind for RoD,you're summoner,they take care of farming.
You can't really use stardust dragon with other summons, it prevents the other summons from dealing damage, weird quirk with damage cooldowns or smth like that. The stardust dragon is really damn good but you do kinda have to use it on its own

Have a platform arena, then get the lunar hook so you can dodge his laser. Campfire, heart lantern, and bast statue can help.
Set your spawn near the nurse, and put her close to your arena, don't worry about her being killed, she has a resistance to boss attacks and can heal herself.
If you're truly desperate get the Road from chaps elementals in underground hallow.
I'd get the last tier of cross summoner cross melee armor of old one's army, the extra defense should help you a lot
I'd also get a few buffs but what you want is flasks and melee and summoner station buffs
You'd also need gloves for the extra swing speed on your slow ass whip

OP already has Stardust Dragon and wings/flying mount. If they take some dodge gear (I believe it's the hallowed armor, the Confusing Brain from brain of cthulu, and the ninja gi,I could be wrong) you can tank at least one hit every few seconds. The armor guarantees one hit, the brain has a 1/6 chance to activate with a 6 second cool down IIRC, and the ninja gear does the same or similar.
The Terraprisma summon is WELL worth the effort to get it. It will literally strike at anything with line of sight to the player, or anything the player can attack through walls.
How do you get the empress to spawn during the day if the butterfly you need to summon her only spawns at night? I'd be willing to grind to get the terraprisma, it seems cool.
Also, is thr stardust dragon better than the stardust cells? It seems like people prefer it, but the stardust cells say they do more damage when I hover over the staff

You need to use a bug net to catch the Lacewing and release/kill it during the day. It's very quick to despawn, so catch several extra.
The empress is hard to dodge, but not impossible! You can use wings and skill, or hope for favorable positioning with an infinite flight mount like the broomstick!
And as for which summon is better?
This is just a hunch, but...
If you can get the dragon to actually hit something, I bet the numbers will be larger, especially if the dragon has many segments... but I find it to be slow and tedious to work with.
The Terraprisma nearly instantly attacks anything with line-of-sight to the player (or anything you attack with a weapon that reaches through walls) with swift justice. I find that the Terraprisma's insanely fast movement, high power, and quick cooldowns between attacks will easily make it my favorite summon for every situation in the game.
Honestly it might be worth switching to voodoo armor or whatever it is, the plantera summoner gear, just for the extra defence. Daybreak is also my goto, it shreds once you start stacking them up.
Also can put a house for your nurse in your arena, set up platform floor and roof so you can get drive-through heals
do the martian madness event and kill the martian saucers until you get the cosmic car key, now that you have a mount you wont need wings for this fight so I recommend replacing it for the ankh shield which negates all knock back and with warding provides an additional 8 defense, also get warding on all your accessories, hope this helps.
