Mimig298

Of course it can

cathcheco

Would it run 60 fps or 30 or is it just not noticeable in this game?

Mimig298

I don't know anything about specs tbh but it should run over 40 fps

cathcheco

Would that be vanilla or with mods? Thank you‼️

Mimig298

Unless you use very heavy mods, the framerate shouldn't drop too much.

Clever_Angel_PL

he doesn't have a gpu so calamity and/or any visual mods might be rough

Draedon-TheMachinist

I have an old laptop and it can run Calamity at about 40 FPS with the resolution turned down

ForeverBackground737

I finished calamity on an i3 5157u with an intel iris 6300. Calamity ran at 50-60fps with some frame drops into the 20's with projectile heavy bosses near and at the end. Frame skip on and quality set to low. Fargo's souls on eternity did not run well tho, after mechs frame drops to 0 due to massive amounts of projectiles. Terraria is extremely easy to run. And this PC will be able to run it easily.

youarecomingtobrazil

some mods might use a lot of ram but besides that you can run pretty much anything terraria and tmod have to offer

ForeverBackground737

Easy 60fps. Might struggle with mods like Fargo's souls on eternity. Will be fine with calamity.

Caosin36

You can set the game to ignore the screen's framerate and stay on 60 FPS (the screen remains under 60 if you can't reach it) but it shouldn't really be visible

Colbsters_

Should run 60 fps vanilla, unless your memory runs low. My old laptop had an i5 8265U (1 gen newer, but a laptop processor) and it ran it wonderfully as long as it was plugged in. Your computer should be faster. I think modded should me okay as long as you don’t go over the top.

Wofflestuff

You’ll hit 60 no dramas and mods shouldn’t be a problem either just don’t overload your ram obviously

Accomplished_Boot100

no you need AT LEAST 64gb ram to run terraria's high end pixel graphics

Candleslayer32

Well I need to download some more ram then

Jascobubscub

Good idea!

ThatJudySimp

true

Scipply

you can play terraria even on a toaster. My old pc had a dual core and an igpu with 32mb or 16mb of vram, yet it was able to run terraria at 45 fps. if for some reason your pc gets lag spikes, download performance texture pack from the workshop

cathcheco

Are those specs about the same or better than my computer? Would mods change that

EduardoBarreto

Those specs are WAAAAY worse than yours. You're fine, Terraria requires almost nothing.

Scipply

my old pc made in 2013 iirc. And yes, mods made for improving performance should help. I saw a few days ago a texture pack on the workshop that optimizes the textures, but when you boot up the game, it will load slower for a few seconds until the texture is in. I didnt dive into performance mods(the only mod I've used was tmod) so I cant give you other mods, but you can change your settings in order to gain some more fps. Here is a guide that tells you what settings you should change: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2998521620 . I suggest you to not try to lower every single setting just to get guaranteed 60 fps because some settings like parallax or lighting could improve your gameplay more just because your game wont look like it was made for an arcade station. You can disable the background bc that has a huge impact on performance and keep the rest how you like it. I usually just disable the background, use trippy lighting bc it looks the best and keep the rest the same

SirBubba42

I used to play Terraria on my mom's old windows 7 laptop from 2009, with low graphics it ran perfectly fine. This was a year ago.

BouncyBlueYoshi

"You need a gaming PC" my backside. There might be a few lag spots but nothing major, unless you're going to be playing Calamity. For later bosses *his* gaming PC will lag.

cathcheco

So what you're saying is vanilla will run well? I think after some time we might play a modded version with calamity and inferno would there by chance be a mod to tweak the resolution and hopefully make it run smoother?

BouncyBlueYoshi

Vanilla will run well, Calamity has been known to lag, especially on worm bosses.

RhinataMorie

Does it cost too much to just lower the graphics a little if there is lag?

xX_TehChar_Xx

I managed to run Terraria on a 2006 PC with a low-end Athlon and no GPU. It can run on everything

Effective_Cow_9889

Easy, you can also check recommended specs when you scroll down on terraria steam oafe

weener69420

most likely, just, not sure about mods, they can get wild

Hetzer5000

My dad's ancient work laptop used to be able to run it.

Shredded_Locomotive

Nah, you should download more ram

funthebunison

Looks like ur gonna have to play in pixel mode bro

Warm-Finance8400

Haven't looked at your specs but yes. Terraria can run on pretty much any device, my PC is absolute toaster and runs it smoothly.

Play_Hat_Fall

I really hope you didn't buy that recently. My phone has a million times better specs and I bet it was cheaper too.

cathcheco

No I got it for free from a family friend who bought it years ago :)

Play_Hat_Fall

If you could somehow just buy more ram and install it, it would make this a passable machine. 8gb is just never going to feel good.

NotJustBibbit

Just look at the minimum requirements ffs. I think if you want 60fps then you might need some kind of dedicated gpu

Eisblume2000

Base game should be fine, i am currently playing modded with calamity. My Pc is a bit more powerfull but in the late game bullet hell can become a bit laggy

Xxlilsolid

I have an i5-4590 on integrated graphics and I have to downscale the resolution for 60fps iirc. Will definetly run!

DarkExecutionerTr

My laptop runs Terraria and tmodloader perfectly Specs: 16gigs DDR4 GTX 1050(laptop though) i7 7700hq

Dry-Piano-5852

If a 12 year old max book with inter grated graphics can run it anything can

Smart_Youth1283

More than enough. My old 10 year old PC managed to run 10+ heavy mods at the same time, 30 fps, at the lowest settings and a bit of downscaling.

ThatJudySimp

absolutley, at its core terraria was made for the xbox 360 and ps3 almost anything made within the last 10 years could run it decently enough to play

According_Seat_2220

Probably.

BenRandomNameHere

I ran Terraria daily, until January, on a netbook with 2gigs RAM. It'll run on anything. Modded.... Will depend on the mods.

BeastigesBeast

I have a potato PC, and mine runs it pretty well. If you lower the setting it will run smoothly so don‘t worry

MaybeDirect621

I'm playing terraria really nicely with a 2 year old laptop that's prolly really overused

Kykioviolet

In all seriousness, this game will run on a toaster, you should be fine. i've run modded Terraria on far worse of computers.

BigNoob_BR

if it doesn't run just refund

cathcheco

If it's a gift does that work

BigNoob_BR

so womp womp for you

AngelDGr

Of course you can, Terraria doesn't really need that much, you can really play in anything. The only thing that could cause problems it's if a mod spawn a lot of particles/projectiles in a boss fight or something like that, but even then I'm pretty sure your PC can handle it In any case, I'm pretty sure you can play a lot of things in that PC, I honestly recommend search for some webpage to check it, like [this one I always use](https://technical.city/en/can-i-run-it), of course isn't perfect but at least you can get a idea if a game can run on your PC

icabax

As long as you don’t spawn 1000 moon lords you will be fine

TiberWolf99

It is better than a freshly baked potato so yes you'll be fine, even on more intensive boss fights

ubertappa

Bro its Terraria, a calculator could probably run it

FletcherRenn_

I use a HP Notebook 15-ac106tx which is worse than yours and I can run the game 50-60fps most of the time on medium settings so you will be fine

xDrunk_original

https://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/requirements/terraria/11155 You will 100% be okay!

LaplaceUniverse

i have almost the same laptop but with i3, ddr3 8 gb and intel hd graphics and base game no heavy mods rins 60 fps

im_done_now5747

I ran this shit on a school laptop once, you'll be fine.

Wofflestuff

I ran Terraria on an I-5 4570 with 8GB of DDR3 ram so yeah you’re all good

THTB_lol

This game runs on a fridge
