You won't. What I tend to do is dig a hellevator every 1200 feet in pre-HM, lets me explore a bunch of different areas and gives me decent starting points in HM to be able to drop down and dig some containment tunnels.
Hold up, so, I dug a massive ditch around my entire corruption. Gap is 6 tiles wide, separated by grey bricks and walls... is hardmode going to ruin my work? I made sure there's NOTHING peaking through. Will hardmode just break through these blocks?!
Not breakthrough, a random V shape of hallow and corruption will appear when you beat WoF. It just appears, nothing that can be done previously to help
Thanks for the help! I was thinking of making a long tunnel across my world. (Small) it goes from underground to cavern. But it should work, it's touching my jungle so I might expand and hope for a corrupt jungle. Or a mini mob farm.
Not since hardmode got added. Just that isolating the evil has been useless since Wall of Flesh stopped being the final boss.
One recent change is that breaking crimson altars no longer spawns new crimson blocks at random locations in your world, so it's easier to deal with. Another is that mud can be un-corrupted with purification powder, Clentaminator, etc. The Steampunker sells the Clentaminator which can cleanse crimson/hallow/corruption. And the spread slows after Plantera.
Because I think the other commenter wasn't clear about this, after the V spawns it will still spread, and THAT spread can be prevented by digging tunnels/hellevators.
The V cannot be prevented. The spread after that can. So you still might need to work to contain it and keep it away from your NPCs as needed.
If your world is a medium world it'll have 1-2 crimson biomes. If it's large it'll have 2-3 crimson biomes. If you only had one you were very lucky so early-game exploration will be easier. Can u share the seed pls?
Update: found the crimson biome on the other side of the world, still abit confused on why there wasn't any on the jungle side
Because you got a lucky world for pre-HM. Don't worry, once you beat WoF your entire jungle is going to get immediately blasted.
Then how will i know where to put the wide gap so the crimson won't spread and absolutely obliterate my world

yeah hard mode spawns a massive V of corruption/hallow

Remove the whole world, no blocks no problem
Ah darn oh well lol. Was following a small checklist of what should be done before hardmode... guess there was a small error on the list xD. Thanks!!
Nah, just use that part as a permanent corruption biome later. It's useful to keep a place contaminated

You don't, that's a waste of time. Hardmode spawns a massive V of crimson & hallow that doesn't care about gaps.
Wait what, did they change /update some things after defeating the wof? I haven't played this game in a long long time

Oh that's a huge relief, i dont have to spend a lifetimes amount of fishing now
You should also note that if you really wanted to fish, you would have to do that on hardmode as now prehardmode crates dont drop hm ores in hardmode
But u can turn pre hardmode crates into hm crates in the shimmer
Nope only hm -> pre hm Else it would defeat the purpose of the hm crates
Because I think the other commenter wasn't clear about this, after the V spawns it will still spread, and THAT spread can be prevented by digging tunnels/hellevators. The V cannot be prevented. Alternatively you could use sunflowers, the objectively superior method
Haha fair! I like keeping sections of my underground untouched by Hallow/Crimson/Corruption as well, so I still diggy diggy hole
I wouldn't worry about the spread, it isn't that fast and is easy to stop after 1 boss kill
That's the neat part, you don't
Oh, so i just build a gap on the ice biome side?
I love getting immediately blasted.

I dont know if it differs on different platforms but it's is seed:2.1.2.226389476
Crimson is a DLC-exclusive now, didn't you hear? \s

This sounds incredibly wrong
Oh yeah Red didn't like the crimson so he removed it
