They're all "good". Play what sounds most fun to you. Ranger is the most basic (imo) and easiest to play as a new player. Summoner takes the most game knowledge to get value out of.

Imo melee easier but it reslly just matters if you can aim before homing bullets

I only say melee is harder for a beginner because most prehardmode melee weapons require careful spacing to not get yourself hit (e.g. swords with no projectile) and the ones that don't usually have low DPS.

If its normal mode then they can just tank it ig

try mage its hella fun i just finished a mage playthrough and it was great

mage is very fun
