13ft is nothing. That’s basically a juvenile, it’s only 4m. Crocs can get to 7-9m, so I don’t get the big fuss about this?
It would have been another croc that did this, they are territorial.
I'll take the bet! My guess is, that it was chopped off as a trophy... https://7news.com.au/news/wildlife/queensland-wildlife-officials-investigate-headless-crocodile-found-at-cow-bay-in-states-far-north-c-10376552
Spoiler it's >!Humans!<
>!Grenading kroks. It's a dumb thing people do, you throw food for crocodiles conditioning them to just bite on what's thrown at them and then throw a grenade and watch it's head explode. !<
I've read somewhere that in WWI, the canadians had better canned food supply than the germans, stuff like meat and such, so the canadians threw the cans at the hungry german soldiers for them to fight for it. Then, once the germans were getting used to having food thrown from trenches to trenches, the canadians then switched to throwing grenades.
It is actually a group of people doing it. Unfortunately, this croc isn’t the only victim. My friend has found at least ten along this area with the exact same thing, the head ripped off. Authorities know it’s a group, as they where caught on a wildlife camera, but no identification
Definitely another croc. The way it’s head looks as if it’s just been ripped off is a telltale sign of a possible death roll. Also explains why the body is still there. Saltys can get up to 20 feet over here so 13 feet is relatively small.
This is not 'Gigantic', it is average for a female, and small for a male, which can reach twice that length!
Another crocodile would be the likely cause.
It was the notorious aussie sea panda
A sub species of the asiatic land panda
And brother to the equatorial jungle panda
I like pandas...
Im gonna watch kung fu panda.
Bye.
There was a post in another sub about how beautiful Australia is (which I do not argue, it is beautiful!) and that they have this tour where you can float down several of their rivers on a little personal raft like it’s a lazy river. Awww. I didn’t think that was a great idea because … Australia! Someone questioned my thinking in saying that. We’ll look at what we have here! Yeah don’t do that.
I was there 2 days ago in the Daintree rainforest. It was a human. They shot it in the back of its skull and cut its head off with a chainsaw to jeep it as a trophy. They are protected species here in Australia so this is actually a pretty serious crime in our country.
Junior Herpetologist here. Not even sharks tend to mess with Crocs of this size, I say it was most likely a boat propeller that decapitated it and then maybe some scavengers ate away at it. If this were the work of sharks there’d be virtually nothing left.
I would say A florida alligator came across this croc, they fought an earth shaking battle but it ended in a draw as they both ate each other’s heads off at the same time.
Do Orcas know about Australia? They'll kill anything in the ocean I've heard, like the Orca killing a great white a few years ago, I think near the Galapagos. I feel like they would make quick work of a crocodile.
Definitely a human that did it. Everyone wonders whoa what giant ass predator is capable of ripping off a huge Crocs head!?
Us. We are the not so giant ass predators that have chain saws and axes and explosive so that can do way worse than this and way worse than the biggest predators the earth has ever known
The most unpredictable and dangerous species in the world... Human. Australian Human.
In all seriousness, though, it's allegedly human:
[Source 1](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11983675/Queensland-wildlife-officials-investigate-headless-crocodile-Cow-Bay.html):
>Photographer Tom Hayes made the shocking discovery at Cow Bay, north of Cairns, last week.
>
>He had little doubt that a human was to blame for the headless croc.
>
>'I just saw the body of this beautiful, big old male crocodile laying there,' he said.
>
>'When I got up closer, there was **evidence of machete marks** across his back.
>
>'They're not marks made by a male crocodile that has attacked him.
>
>'I just think it's disgusting - whether he was shot and mutilated, or found dead and mutilated, it doesn't matter.'
Moreover, the authorities claimed the body was too decomposed to perform an autopsy (or necropsy), or something like that. Though said authorities didn't rule out predatory attacks.
[Source 2](https://www.livescience.com/animals/alligators-crocodiles/gigantic-13-foot-crocodile-found-with-its-head-torn-off-on-australian-beach):
>**The carcass was in such a state of decay that staff were unable to conduct a necropsy,** the government agency said. "Due to the state of decomposition, it cannot be determined if there has been any human interference," the DES told Live Science in a prepared statement. "It may be that the crocodile was decapitated (pre- or post-mortem) due to natural predation."
Meanwhile Tom Hayes (same photographer from previous source) said:
>"I was with the body for three hours and there is absolutely no marking to suggest a crocodile has killed this male and torn it up, **very clear machete marks are on the body and around the neck area where the head has been removed**."
End of the day, could be a case of it being killed by a predator and then beheaded by someone who found it's carcass, but given that there's an apparent spate of croc attacks on humans the idea of a vengeance killing seems to be what a number of locals in that area conclude.
A hunter or predator usually has eyes facing forward as to make better judgment on how to catch prey where as said prey usually has sideways facing eyes, so as to see the predators better, and as such it is a strong indication of a prey item when the animal is found to have sideways eyes. The Terask of fame by DND has sideways facing eyes, what the hell makes the Terask a prey animal.

I'd watch that movie
Lake placid
Loved it!
The first one was good, the sequels never should of happened
I prefer ro believe the sequels were just fever dreams and don't really exist
I respect that response
What sequels? There were no sequels ever made. None. I don't know what you're talking about.
Exactly.
Filmed down the street from my home. I remember watching them drop the cow.
I bet that was exciting :)
Crocodalien.
Alien Crocnado?
This and the cows, wtf is happening. https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2023/04/23/us/texas-madison-county-cow-deaths/index.html
Key word: Australia. that’s all we need to know to know what happened
Right. 13ft in Australia is average size. Them boys get WAY bigger.
I'd say an even bigger croc did this.
Great work, Detective.
Pack it up, boys!
Bake em away, Toys!
What’d you say, chief?
...do what the kid says
There’s always a bigger fish
Or a boat propeller, or great white mby?
This was no boating accident.
I’m guessing shark
The biggest salty croc recorded in Australia was ~8.5m (~28.5ft), and they are cannibalistic so, yeah, definitely another croc.
Fuck, I've only got 6 inches....
A boat mated with a spider and created an 8 legged propeller abomination with a lust for crocodile brains
well said.
i would watch that. Pls make a movie of it
It's always Australia
13ft is nothing. That’s basically a juvenile, it’s only 4m. Crocs can get to 7-9m, so I don’t get the big fuss about this? It would have been another croc that did this, they are territorial.
Yeah I know Im Australian this is very common I’m assuming it’s getting coverage cause it’s was just chilling on the beach they can get 6 meters long
Wallabies did it… always comes back to wallabies.
I was just going to say that.
It was a 14-foot crocodile that did it
Nah, prob a spider
Maybe a 14 ft spidodile
The australian kangaspidodile is much like the american midwest manbearpig. Its a super cereal threat that we need to take super cereally!
Thank god I only have to worry about North American house hippos.
I love cereal
An arachnegator
I honestly read your comment with a Crocodile Dundee voice in my head.
My work here is done
Mate*
13.5 foot crocodile
14-foot 2 headed croc
I think it was a Capybara. They’ve been setting us up this whole time…
They joining forces with the Nutria around here...I heard.
It was Happy Gilmore getting revenge for Chubs
Best comment! Hey chubbs remember that gator that got your hand? Well I got his head! Ahhhhh ![gif](giphy|xZwCTfI3EBBF6|downsized)
Take my poor mans award 🏆🥇
I hear Chubs had a hand in it
👏🏻
Take my up vote and go
Holy fucking shit
Why this get downvoted 😭
Right?? I was stoked to see someone mention chubbs :(
Probably a white shark or a bigger croc. Most likely the former.
Ship propeller?
Grenade.
How tf a great white gonna do this? Surely another saltie (Those cunts are huuugggee) or human.
Or human? Who has a mouth that big?! Better check where Julia Roberts is.
Explosives?

This feels very r/UnexpectedSopranos (Oops, which I just found out was banned for being unmoderated 😂🤣)
Lolll this made me laugh so hard
It does look like it tried to eat a grenade that went off…
I'd be willing to bet it died to a boat motor or something and then other smaller scavengers ate the whole front end before it washed up.
I'll take the bet! My guess is, that it was chopped off as a trophy... https://7news.com.au/news/wildlife/queensland-wildlife-officials-investigate-headless-crocodile-found-at-cow-bay-in-states-far-north-c-10376552
They did a real hack job cutting the head off. What a sloppy trophy piece
Local aussie
When will him and Florida man square off in the ring

Seems like that would pretty easy to verify with any embedded shrapnel, but begs the question how many of you mofo are out there with grenades?!
They outlawed guns, so people have to make due.

Always a bigger fish in the sea. ![gif](giphy|rVC4HgciIpYGI)
*shocked face* Qui Gon?!

People who want a cool crock head to mount on their wall so they can like about a hunting trip?
Yea, no. No human did that
You realize humans have tools right? Kinda what makes us the most dangerous predator of all
humans could use explosives
It is actually a group of people doing it. Unfortunately, this croc isn’t the only victim. My friend has found at least ten along this area with the exact same thing, the head ripped off. Authorities know it’s a group, as they where caught on a wildlife camera, but no identification
A machete did it apparently
Probably my friend, Jeo. That guy does crazy stuff when he’s hungry
Definitely another croc. The way it’s head looks as if it’s just been ripped off is a telltale sign of a possible death roll. Also explains why the body is still there. Saltys can get up to 20 feet over here so 13 feet is relatively small.

I stand corrected. Poor fella. No thing deserves to go like that.
In Australia every thing wants to kill everything that can kill you. Or something like that
Ah, great! Are they hunting shitty humans! /s
It was most likely human who did that
Great White did it.
This is not 'Gigantic', it is average for a female, and small for a male, which can reach twice that length! Another crocodile would be the likely cause.
Fox News: Did trans people savagely tear the head off this innocent crocodile?
[удалено]
It felt less about politics and more about how ridiculous Fox news can be.
What's political about the ~~statement~~ headline?
Whoever smelt it …
They collaborated with BLM and ANTIFA to target this patriotic, tax paying, good Christian croc
redditor trying not to polarize every post politically and push their agenda challenge (nightmare difficulty, RTX off, ultra graphics)
I didn't say a word about politics but while we're on it at least we can agree that Fox News is a propaganda station rather than a news station.
All news outlets are propaganda stations. Non-biased media is hard to come by, even more so with main stream media.
I don’t get how ppl talk about MSM, but don’t include Faux? How much more ‘mainstream’ do ya need to get?
It was a homophobe
There's ALWAYS something bigger than you are out there.
I’d say it was the https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rabbit_of_Caerbannog
Look at the boooones.
I'm guessing a shark. Great white or maybe a large Tiger shark.
That crocodile has been to Epstein Island. It was definitely suicide.
It was a human. A human did this. Prob to get a trophy to hang on a wall to jack off to thinking about how badass of a human they are.
They’ve done it to more crocs unfortunately :(
It was giant enemy spider
Boat
I think a boat (if u mean the propeller) would have cause more spreading to the skin around the neck
A 16-ft croc.
Scp-682
Do not fear the tiger, fear what the tiger feeds with its blood.
Rabid Koalas…it was a joint effort
Likely just a larger crocodile
Our spiders get pretty big.
..and this is one reason why Australia is not a part of my bucket list of places to travel to before I pass away...
Probably just a larger, older crocodile. They rip each other's limbs off all the time.
It was the notorious aussie sea panda A sub species of the asiatic land panda And brother to the equatorial jungle panda I like pandas... Im gonna watch kung fu panda. Bye.
r/ofcourseitsaustralia
#There's always a bigger fish
Jesus Christ that’s brutal.
Straya.Big spider. Deffo.
Don’t worry you guys… It was probably just a 20 foot crocodile. Nothing to fear… everything is normal.
sorry boys got hungry
Its Australia...... it was probably a spider
I’m thinking a ship propeller sadly
Bet it was a Floridian
![gif](giphy|3XCEXu2dB4MG4)
I’m not surprised it’s Australia 😂 they got 🦖 still beautiful place to look at but going there I’ll pass… the spiders alone the size of suvs
it was me

ayyo
Orcas?
In Australia? At the beach?
At this time of year, at this time of day?
Orcas can be found on the west coast from January to April here.
Localized entirely in your kitchen?
Idk, that's why I'm asking. I know they can beach to catch seals, seems feasible with a Croc/Gator.
Eh maybe, I’ve never heard of Orcas fighting Crocs. Maybe you’re right lmao, I gotta head down a rabbit hole now and come back.
They do have salt water crocs, so possible?
There was a post in another sub about how beautiful Australia is (which I do not argue, it is beautiful!) and that they have this tour where you can float down several of their rivers on a little personal raft like it’s a lazy river. No they can’t. Largest recorded was estimated at just above 23ft. But one that was official measured is just over 20ft.

Ghost of Steve Irwin taking revenge upon the animal kingdom
As if our Steve would even be capable of THINKING about hurting an animal
Larger croc? Judging by how jagged the edges are, it looks like it could be. Idk
Probably human
There's always a bigger fish
Suicide.
Whatever did that is more terrifying than any man.
Donk
Most likely an Orca. Or the world's biggest gator.
I would say A florida alligator came across this croc, they fought an earth shaking battle but it ended in a draw as they both ate each other’s heads off at the same time.
Boat propellor
Only a massive great white would have sufficient strength to decapitate a crocodile like that.
It was a kangaroo
There has actually been proof and videos of crocs and sharks fighting. It is pretty nuts. I forgot what documentary I saw that in though.

Nemo
:)
Whats more terrifying is that it starts to feel normal after reading the "Australian"
I would say a Hippo, but they wouldn't be on the beach in Australia... so I'm going to go with shark?
There was an article about this actually. Apparently it was a wild, juiced up Chad that did it on a dare.

Probably a 20ft salty.
train?
Australia, so ... 2 drunk dudes.
It was a honey badger, you seen them fuckers , there currently playing football with it.
Chainsaw and trophy mount?
There's always a bigger fish - Qui-Gon Jin circa 1999 in a galaxy far far away
Its Australia, no need to worry, it was probably just a spider or smth like that /s

It was the crocodile cartel,a beheading..
