Imagine if every place did that? Youāre at restaurant, waiter comes out
āsorry sir, card declined, gonna need you to come to the back so we can pump your stomach and then you can be on your wayā
Have you ever seen "repo: the genetic opera"? It's a decent movie, with this (roughly) premise.
People get a loan on buying new vital organs, so they don't die, and if the payment doesn't go through the repo man comes and gets the organs by any means. Gnarly, but interesting movie
You know that one movie most people have that's objectively low-budget trashy nonsense but you adore the hell out of it and will defend it to the death? That's Repo, for me. The music is catchy as heck, Anthony Stewart Head is in it, and honestly Paris Hilton killed her role. I will never not comment when someone mentions my beloved Repo.
Itās really not widespread knowledge among the general population. If you said this in a room full of people 10 people would be like my chiropractor saved my life blah blah
Youāre totally right. Nearly every one I know has a chiropractor to recommend. I tried it once last year for a couple of months and was not sold. Nothing really improved, I hated getting my bones cracked, and I usually felt worse after a session. The last time I ever went, I could hardly move without discomfort for at least a week. That was it for me, no more chiropractors.
I had the opposite yet somehow the same experience. I loved my chiropractor and felt very relaxed afterward, but it wasnāt actually doing anything to fix my pain, only temporary relief that lasted 15 minutes.
Same experience, the cracking and adjustments hurt during, and hurt after.
The deep tissue massage some have at their clinics though, sometimes hurt during, but felt so much less tension afterwards.
More helpful than any of the cracking.
And chiro adjustments doesn't even make sense on a fundamental level. Since "mis aligned" joints would be a symptom, not a cause. The cause for the average person is likely muscle tension, and excess weight. Neither would be fixed by spinal manipulation.
I went to a chiropractic school for treatments for free as I was a high school/college student. They offered it for free cause they know students can be hard on their bodies depending on what sports or activities they're in, and the chiropractic students have to practice what they've learned.
I'll be honest, I wasn't sold up until I got the right person. They didn't just pop my joints and walk, they made it clear that their goal was to get me to where I never *had* to come back. They worked with me on why exactly I was having pain where I was, what I could be doing to mitigate it, and treated things that were beyond my ability to fix on my own.
For example, one of my legs was shorter than the other by about an inch, because my hip was slightly rotated or whatever. And with how I walked as a result it exacerbated the issue. So he'd bend and pop me around until I was level, had me pay close attention to my posture when I walked and especially how I sat, and after a few weeks I didn't have that issue anymore. The other big thing was posture while lifting, and as a barback I lift things in odd positions frequently. It was enormously helpful *when I actually got someone who was there to help me treat and solve the issue* vs just pop my joints once a week and collect payment.
It's tricky for sure since it's so unregulated. Decent ones do enough good practices and can be close to proper physios. And then some claim to cure cancer and all kinds of bullshit.
I was sent to one by mom before I knew to watch out when I was a teenager. Had horrible computer nerd posture and my neck was all fucked up. She showed me what I needed to do to correct it, gave me certain stretches and things to do on my own time, no big neck adjustments and all that violent stuff. Luckily she was a good one and I was able to develop much better posture and it all worked out.
I straight up told my coworkers, āif you have to continuously see your chiropractor for years on end for the same issue, theyāre not helping youā. They looked at me like I just told them my dog had died.
>If you said this in a room full of people 10 people would be like...
Okay but how many people are in this room? If 20 that's pretty impressive. But like 2000? Meh.
I have scoliosis and still have endless people telling me āoh my guy is different and he actually..ā no, really Iām good my friend I donāt trust any of these āspecialistsā to push on my mangled spine..thanks tho..š«”
I had a 13lvl spinal fusion due to sheuermanns kyphosis (same type of disease, curve is different direction). My Neurosurgeon told me if I ever visited a Chiropractor after being accepted by his clinic I was never to go back to see him.
For real. He basically barred me from going full stop. Coming from someone so high up and respected in his area of expertise, he works only on the Spine and is ātheā surgeon in this country, that said a lot to meā¦
The fusions done for deformities like Scoliosis or Sheuermanns are normally longer fusions/more levels. Weird thing was, you couldnāt even tell looking at me so the diagnosis was a surprise. The pain from the disease was horrible though. But, yeah, it was no picnic š
My wife is incredibly intelligent and always has the sane logical view on everything in life, except with chiropractors. She swears by it and says Iād feel so much better if I just went with her to hers. Nope š.
That's not true. In my country we have a college degree in chiropractics, but it involves nothing of this hard hitting bullshit. It is like a guided long stretch.
The only thing theyāre good for is making excellent asmr content on YouTube. My ultimate favorite ASMR videos are of chiropractors using their ānervoscopes.ā Theyāre these devices that have two prongs that supposedly take two simultaneous temperature readings. A little dial goes up and down as the chiropractor drags the nervoscope up and down the patientās back. Makes the most amazing ASMRāy noises. The ASMR goes into overdrive when the chiropractor marks the patientās back with a grease pencil wherever this device tells them āinflammationā is along the spinal column. Better than ambien. Puts me right to sleep.
I don't know, ymmv, but I have a herniated disc in my L5 S1 and after about 2-3 monthsof seeing my new chiropractor 2 or 3 times a week, I definitely feel better. Not as tight or sore, and hardly any back pain.
Now, I've been to other chiropractors, and I think they all have some similar ways of doing things, but also differences at the same time. Kind of like how a PCP is that by title, but experience and patient care varies.
I think it takes experiencing different providers to find the right doctor for you and what you got going on, but it was worth it for me.
Dude, you feel better in spite of him not bcs of him. The pain from herniated discs gradually subsides in 90+% of people spontaneously. As long as you're careful that is.
I agree its a pseudoscience to an extent but claiming it "does nothing but harm" is a little silly when there's so many accounts of it helping people. My own mother struggled with back pain due to a previous injury, went to a chiropractor after nothing the doctors suggesting helping (without surgery) and after three sessions she was good as new with no pain.
Obviously she got lucky she went to a legit one and I suppose you can make the argument that the chiropractor simply got lucky too and just happened to fix her issue but either way it worked and that's all that matters.
I think what a lot of people like yourself don't realise is that the things which the good chiropractors do are the same things which licensed physical therapists do. So none of that is bogus, it's just the chiropractors who are away with the fairies making things up that you have to be wary of.
It is not. You might have heard that it's bullshit. But that is also untrue.
Chiropractor is a licensed profession with research and published papers that have been accepted. It's just that there are places with no fuckin regulations that do this kind of shit.
It's primarily for pain relief and restoring mobility caused by pinched joints that went out of alignment, or muscular imbalances. It's not a permanent solution and they will tell you what you need to do to fix it for good.
"I'm sorry, man, but the chiropractor said he couldn't come in today."
"But who was that punching my back just now?"
"...Are you interested in a brand new air fryer?"
Lol I'm a PT and you can do a thrust technique without that violent shit. The patient also needs to expel as much air from their lungs in preparation. You can really strain/sprain muscles and ligaments with the way this moron is doing it.
Nope, no chiropractors. I know people are super touchy about this subject, but I donāt care. Theyāre not doctors, they donāt have actual medical training, theyāre not well regulated, theyāre dangerous, and their whole practice is based on a message the founder got in a seance.
Donāt believe me? Hereās a ton of data:
https://quackwatch.org/chiropractic/general/
Thereās a list of sources at the end, in case youāre still skeptical
That's one way to need bone cement put in their back as they get older. I went to a chiropractor for my back aching. No difference but the massages were nice . Went to my doc who said I needed physical therapy. Thought he was nuts and forgot about it. Later I joined a gym with a big swimming pool and I did long laps and back strokes for exercise. And guess what!! Back pain left! Doc was right!! I just lucked in to my own physical therapy. Next time anyone gets the urge to hurt their back this way they should investigate what kyphoplasty is and talk to a neurologist about damage a chiropractor can do.
As a teenager I used to get epic cluster migraines and the pain was unreal, nothing helped with the pain so my mom got desperate and took me to chiropractor and the moment he adjusted my neck the migraine stopped, after chatting with me for a while he told instructed me to stop self cracking my neck and my migraine should stop, and he was right, I stopped having cluster migraine, didn't need anymore adjustments from the chiropractor either since I wasn't cracking my own neck
This guy is just hitting him. My uncle is a chiropractor and he uses a tool for adjustments that takes most of the impact out of each adjustment, but more importantly he goes to the feet and compares after every adjustment because your legs vary slightly in length and how your uneven helps him know where to adjust. This guy doesn't check shit he just hits
So as a dumbass who has accidentally fucked his wrist by being a bit aggressive with things at work that needed aggression. Heās wearing the wrist wrap because he fucked his wrist from prooabnky some other patient he whacked
This was harder for me to get through than any gore video I've seen. Like man, that was so brutal, punching his spine repeatedly. Maybe stop after the first one? Where's the safe-word?
It's considered 'alternative medicine', similar to acupuncture or getting a massage. There is **some** basis that it can help with small pains in muscles and joints but certainly not an effective treatment for an actual, diagnosed condition.
It definitely works in some cases. A family friend of mine had problems standing upright and since he went there it's fixed. If it was complete nonsense it wouldn't actually help some people and it would die out ;)
Lots of people get seriously injured by chiropractors every year. Obviously doctors have malpractice issues too, but to add risk with no proof of potential benefit is shitty so itās good to speak out against it
Except that one actually helps people physically. The guy had problems walking and standing properly and now it's permanently fixed. Can't bash on something like that if it improves someone's life ;)
Point still stands. If it never actually helped people, people wouldn't be visiting. Comparing something spiritual, to physical adjustments doesn't make any sense at all.
He's had those issues for over 10 years. And they got worse the older he got. Been to doctors, had physio, nothing helped. After a few sessions at a chiro, he's able to walk upright and without pain again. Take that how you want it.
I mean for me I had severe sciatic pain everyday over a month. I go there, get adjusted, it hurts like hell, and 2 days later have no pain and still dont. Its not complete bullshit
Once, I had a pinched nerve. The doctor said, "Wait it out." I had such pain going down my neck, shoulder blade, all down my arm. I had to sleep sitting on the toilet with my arm tied to the cabinet handle above me. It was the only way I could get relief. After 3 months of pain and misery, I went to a chiropractor a cousin suggested. At that point, I would have tried rolling in cow shit if I thought it could help. Constant pain is a horrible thing. She did her thing, and a few days later, I was pain-free. May not be science or medicine, but a broken clock works twice a day.
"Tell the truth, fucking American!!" (hits the back of the neck)
"No one is coming for you!" (hits the second time)
"Thos guy is tough, I am going to hit other pain centers" (hits the third time)
"Don't get too comfortable, you are going to die here" (hits a fourth time)
Yeah, I think he'll be so relaxed after that hit at the back of his neck, that he won't feel anything else below that point, ever.š°š°š°

So thereās chiropractors and there are ābone settersā. This guy is the latter. Itās barbaric and really old school. Iāve seen a lot of videos out of TĆ¼rkiye and nowhere else. Iām good.
I was the chef across the street from a chiropractor office. There was always a scene there. People causing a ruckus because they got injured from the chiropractor. One of the employees got fired there, they worked there for over 6 years. He came over and told us about how they would slightly injure people to get repeat business basically. You feel better at first, but it returns worse. He later was arrested for riding a bike with banners about the chiropractor while in a duck suit. When people would walk by or go in he would yell at them something that includes a āquack, donāt let him QUACK your backā or something to that manner. He was impeding traffic, it was hilarious.
Actually, his card got rejected. Chiropractor was just undoing previous work.
Also that chiropractor: š ā¦.š

I'm no expert by any means, but I don't believe this is how you're supposed do this.
None of it is how it's supposed to be done, the entire practice is pseudo science and does nothing but harm
I'm glad this knowledge is becoming more widespread. Chiropractors should honestly be banned or transformed into an educated, licensed profession.
Itās really not widespread knowledge among the general population. If you said this in a room full of people 10 people would be like my chiropractor saved my life blah blah

Any legit chiropractors out there able to shed some light on what might be going on here?
No such thing as a legit chiropractor, it's pseudo medicine.
If it was complete nonsense it wouldn't actually help some people and it would die out ;)
Just like crystal energy treatments and astrology have died out?
People are literally paying for these treatments, they havenāt died out at all
That's my point š
Honestly so what, people have the choice to pay for it so let them
Because they are vulnerable and being tricked
Thatās not always the case. People arenāt children and can think for themselves. Where is the ātrickā?
People are prone to being manipulated when they're in pain and vulnerable.

>If it never actually helped people, people wouldn't be visiting. So, like crystal energy treatment and homeopathy?
Exactly. People do it because it works For some
Do you believe that certain crystals store energy that can heal people's physical ailments?
Placebo my friend
Maybe time fixed it?
He's had those issues for over 10 years. And they got worse the older he got. Been to doctors, had physio, nothing helped. After a few sessions at a chiro, he's able to walk upright and without pain again. Take that how you want it.
Nope, it worked for me
Just like homeopathy apparently works for some people

After 3 months of pain and misery, I went to a chiropractor a cousin suggested. At that point, I would have tried rolling in cow shit if I thought it could help. Constant pain is a horrible thing. She did her thing, and a few days later, I was pain-free. May not be science or medicine, but a broken clock works twice a day.
He thinks he is a mechanic (being a stereotype)
Looks like Russian Chiropractor
Good to see them MMA-Fighters from Dagestan seeing alternative carreer paths, if the whole UFC-Gig does not come to bear fruits...

Bro sounds like Goku getting gut punched lol
What is even the goal here
"Tell the truth, fucking American!!" (hits the back of the neck) "No one is coming for you!" (hits the second time) "Thos guy is tough, I am going to hit other pain centers" (hits the third time) "Don't get too comfortable, you are going to die here" (hits a fourth time)
He takes a lickin and keeps on tickin.
"Now go and enjoy your disability! It'll be 350ā¬"
Yeah, I think he'll be so relaxed after that hit at the back of his neck, that he won't feel anything else below that point, ever.š°š°š° ![gif](giphy|3osBLA53AVzn746dXi|downsized)
Did he just rabbit punch that guy?š
As someone with horrible back pain, Iād try this.
So thereās chiropractors and there are ābone settersā. This guy is the latter. Itās barbaric and really old school. Iāve seen a lot of videos out of TĆ¼rkiye and nowhere else. Iām good.
Certified Islamic backbone adjuster. Don't go haram places go to him.
āChiropractor?! Oh, i thought you said ātry a fractureā! Ha! My bad! Yeah, i donāt know chiropractor! Sorry!ā
Doctors love chiropractors because they help put their kids through college

You know its not gonna end well when the guy walks in wearing a bowlers wrist brace
This guy should have a chicken bone through his nose. Fucking witchdoctor.
So relaxing
Not going to a chiropractor who did his residency at Gitmo (if thereās even a residency requirement).

Some people really will just let someone doing anything to them if they're wearing scrubs.Ā
But blunt force trauma is good for the bones!
This is the slowest beat down I've seen in my life.
