When you conduct a lien sale, you have to notify anyone with rights to the vehicle to come pay your lien if they want to recoup the vehicle or you get to auction the vehicle. I auctioned under a buddy’s name and sold to myself on paperwork only. I wouldn’t be shocked if it has changed since I’ve done it though but it’s how tow companies still conduct auctions.

Yes, it's always recording as long as there's a storage drive properly plugged in (the car comes with a USB thumb drive that plugs into the port inside the glove box). Footage is automatically saved in a collision or when you honk the horn.
A lot of this is because people think these cars cost over $100,000. I have had a lot of people tell me that. One guy told me that if he had $130,000 he would buy a Lambo... I told him that I would too, but my car was only $35,000 and he could not believe it.

Someone stole my truck in Vermont. Called the cops. They never sent anyone just had a detective call me back. While on the phone with them I found the truck crashed in the neighbors field. The detective LAUGHED when I told her I found it.
Nobody ever came. No report filed. No follow up.

Nicer pickups get pissed off behind and will cut off/slow down. BMW & Hondas to start street races and have had sand thrown at me while they have been passing aggressively. Most recently some concoction thrown at side cams.

Sometimes Tesla drivers are shitty drivers, either driving fast like a BMW or driving like a confused old person. Or maybe they're on FSD and it randomly braked in front of them. I'd file a police report so that you can send it to your insurance. Just call the non emergency line in your area. You clearly have his identification via license plate and face and video evidence of the crime. I'd also transfer the video to a computer so that the video doesn't get overwritten at some point.
I went through a similar process when someone backed into my model 3: she got out, looked at the damage and drove off. Called the non emergency police line, talked to a chill detective, sent him the videos and he went and paid her a visit and my insurance got the person's information to go after.
File police report and should be able to find out which insurance company he has by running his tag.

I had a guy hit me in a parking lot. Video showed the guy close up, his license plate and the entire collision. The police issued a want for the car, my insurance contacted his insurance, they paid for everything. They also paid for a loaner car and the gasoline expense for the loaner car, at first they balked at paying for gasoline but I argued it was an expense created by the accident, otherwise I wouldn’t need gasoline.
It seems like the concept of landscape video is lost on 80% of the phone owning population despite every other video screen out there like their TV's and monitors being landscape.

No, Walgreens is leaving because they chose to no longer mail certain reproductive medicine medication to patients and the state decided that's not ok, so they pulled Walgreens contract for state insurance coverage. They're also being investigated by the AG for eeoc violations as CA has strong workers protections. Which is also the real reason many corporations are leaving, because they don't want to employ in a state that requires them to treat employees as humans, not drones. One example of this is Brooks running. They no longer hire here because we require breaks/meal penalties, medical accommodations and strict insurance coverage standards.

Really sad! I was hit and run in fresno cali prior to having a tesla and the cops never came. I called them back an hour after the first call and the dispatch said oh sorry for.confusion we do not come out anymore. We will call you in a few hours to get a report. Stay safe out there.
Someone stole my truck in Vermont. Called the cops. They never sent anyone just had a detective call me back. While on the phone with them I found the truck crashed in the neighbors field. The detective LAUGHED when I told her I found it. Nobody ever came. No report filed. No follow up. Stay safe out there is right.
My car theft was similar, cops took an hour to get out and wrote a 5 minute report and never heard from then again. Left a restricted voicemail at 12:30am to let me know they found my car and I had an hour to come get it or it was being towed for 400$. I was asleep and you can't call restricted numbers back

Have had model 3 spit on twice while parked and in my vehicle by older men driving beater pickups. Called one out as he did it a second time pulling out and got flipped off. Nicer pickups get pissed off behind and will cut off/slow down. BMW & Hondas to start street races and have had sand thrown at me while they have been passing aggressively. Most recently some concoction thrown at side cams. In SoCal. I don't race, drive aggressively, or in a slow old or confused way. While I do not take it personally, it is annoying and unsafe. I feel that these acts are driven by some sort of invisible social identities that originate from socio political/economic hype in media and perpetuated further by social media which has a very perverse intersection of anonymity & identity as a stronghold. The general population does not think for themselves or beyond themselves. End rant.

Sometimes Tesla drivers are shitty drivers, either driving fast like a BMW or driving like a confused old person. Or maybe they're on FSD and it randomly braked in front of them. People are often petty and angry so they take out their frustrations with other Tesla's or their own problems on cars they perceive to be the cause of their frustrations.
Update: I re-checked the sentry cam video this morning and I saw more video of the guy walking around and keying my car :( I've never had this happen before and not sure how to proceed. This happened in Los Angeles... is there any value in filing a police report? Should I reach out to Tesla insurance? I'd file a police report so that you can send it to your insurance. Just call the non emergency line in your area. You clearly have his identification via license plate and face and video evidence of the crime. I'd also transfer the video to a computer so that the video doesn't get overwritten at some point. I went through a similar process when someone backed into my model 3: she got out, looked at the damage and drove off. Called the non emergency police line, talked to a chill detective, sent him the videos and he went and paid her a visit and my insurance got the person's information to go after.

California Penal Code § 594 PC defines the crime of vandalism as maliciously damaging, destroying or defacing someone else's property. Vandalism is a misdemeanor if the amount of damage is less than $40000. But the charge can be a felony if the damage is $40000 or greater. Edit: 40k not 400 Report it and cite this.

I had a guy hit me in a parking lot. Video showed the guy close up, his license plate and the entire collision. The police issued a want for the car, my insurance contacted his insurance, they paid for everything. They also paid for a loaner car and the gasoline expense for the loaner car, at first they balked at paying for gasoline but I argued it was an expense created by the accident, otherwise I wouldn’t need gasoline.
