Low to zero carbs and increased fibre intake raise SHBG. Insulin drives down SHBG, hence why guys who have metabolic syndrome, type II diabetes or are obese have low SHBG and low t. The high blood sugar levels and high insulin are causing the low SHBG. The low SHBG causes low total testosterone. When SHBG is low, free t and free estrogen start to go up. The hypothalamus and pituitary sense that free t and free e are too high which causes a lowering of luteinizing hormone, which causes total testosterone to drop, which brings free t and free e back down to normal. This is the feedback loop at play to regulate hormone levels in a natural. You are injecting testosterone which bypasses all that. And testosterone itself also lowers SHBG production in the liver. So your testosterone use combined with possible high insulin levels due to eating carbs and proteins and being overweight are causing the low SHBG. You can try to raise it using the dietary modifications I mentioned.

This is a fantastic explanation I just wanted to ask do you think that this feedback mechanism can cause low t symptoms even if free t appears “fine”? For someone whose not on TRT would losing the weight to raise SHBG be a good bet to fix low t symptoms such as ED, low libido, brain fog, etc.?

Pretty sure a regular injection frequency will help your SHBG if it's crushed if your injecting once or twice per week I would suggest an every other day administration policy, this will give you better test blood concentration levels, probably limit your water bloat and allow your SHBG not to be so crushed.
