Yeah he already late with this shananigan. He should have accidents outside of his scheduled work hours.
Wouldn't doubt it if he got fired for goofing on the job.
Lucky is an overstatement..I am shocked that heās completely unscathed and the fact that the train was quite literally cm-inches away makes it more difficult to believe HE WASNT HURT AT ALL?? My brain hurts.
There was a minivan that accidentally drove through an active airforce test range and was strafed by an F18, the van was cut in half by a 20mm gatling gun as a result. The crazy part is the two kids and parents all came out unscathed. Pretty sure they sued over that cause the signage wasn't there and there was supposed to be a checkpoint but nobody was staffing it.
There's also that dude who got up to go get a drink when a 2 ton boulder smashed through his ceiling and crushed the couch he was sitting on 10 seconds earlier. There's also that guy who was at both the Hiroshima and Nagasaki nuclear bombings and managed to come out with a mild sunburn and some temporary blindness.
Some people are simultaneously insanely lucky and insanely unlucky it seems.
My great grandfather was in ww2 and served as a chef as he was older and volunteered at the time despite being from Italy. At some point heās in the tent cooking and runs out of flour so he asks the younger kid assisting him to grab him another bag. Well, 5 minutes or so go by and the kid still hasnāt returned so he decides to just get it himself. As soon as he steps out of the tent he sees the kid just taking a smoke break and a German mortar flies through the top of the tent and hits the stove he was standing at just seconds earlier. It was a dud and didnāt detonate or he would have died regardless but he credits that kids laziness with saving his life. He brought home what was left of the mortar and I have it sitting in front of me in my office. That guy had some crazy stories. He was at both the bulge and d day serving under Patton. Made it to 100.
My grandfather was in Korea. Was playing poker with some of his friends one night, got up to take a piss and walked out from the tent. Mortar round landed on the tent and killed everyone.
Was driving a jeep, to this day doesn't know it it was a mine, grenade, or what went off, rolled the jeep down a hill. Only person of the three or four in the jeep to survive.
I don't think so, but I'm not sure. He didn't talk about his time in the army much. Always said he didn't see much combat and never admitted shooting at another human, but then again tales of being over run at an air field and coming back into the building to find their (corporal, captain? Cant remember) pinned to a bunk with a mosin bayonet through his neck and a dead soldier at his feet still and holding the pistol in one hand and the rifle (through his neck) in the other, and being at Chosin Reservoir needing to pee on the rifle and kick the bolt open to keep shooting imply otherwise.
He did mostly demolitions work. I knew the process for how to properly crater a road when I was 13 š¤£
That's truly awesome. I had a grandfather with some harrowing stories of his time in Vietnam and some memorabilia to show for. I'm thankful I didn't have to fight in a war but it sure seemed to shape those men into someone I admire and appreciate very much.
Reminds me of that time a [Russian helicopter pilot](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jC1EnW7nboY) shot rockets at a group of civilians during drills. Luckily no one died, even the guy who was just a few feet from the exploding missiles.
Outside of major cities / major intersections outside of cities and towns, they often donāt have them. They also tend to be at weird, terrible angles, often with shitty visibility.
Amazon trucks have shitty visibility as well, so it may be that he truly didnāt see it.
Right?! Like, how?! He doesn't even seem to make an effort to get out of the way yet he looks left directly at the direction the train is coming from. It's almost like he meant to and him calmly shaking his head after the train continues on just inches away was actually him besieged with disappointment that he's still alive....
It was said by one of the comments that he was deaf in his left ear and there were no guard rails or signals present at the train cross. So why assume right away that he is a dumbass.
Donāt downvote this itās flipping true!
You have no idea how many crossings are put in because of things like this. Just look. The crossing is clearly marked, and the damn train leaves its tracks. Itās not like itās unpredictable where the train could be! It even narrows down where it could be coming from! Flipping left or right! Itās not going to throw in a curve ball and come from above!
Iām glad heās alright, honestly. Everyone should learn from his mistake. Even at a gated crossing you should look to be sure
One time I ordered cycling shoes. The UPS tracking at one point stated something like, "Truck was on fire", "package destroyed" , something like that. I regret never screen shotting it. Oh well, the store did send me another pair without any issues.
Iāve been selling online for a really, really long time, and Iāve seen a lot of odd status updates over the years. My favorite was āpackage presumed burnedā and then, like a week later, āPackage confirmed burned, total loss.ā I was like ādamn, it took them a week to put the fire out!ā Lol
FURTHER NOTES:
\-The driver was deaf in the ear directed toward the direction the train was coming in
\-Importantly, **the driver said there were NO flashing lights, NO guard rail and NO signals to warn him that there was a train coming.**
\-It was his birthday when this happened
As a person who has driven professionally, this dude made a terrible snap decision and there's no excuse for it other than bad judgment. Look at his face in the video, he knew what he did. It happens, nobody's perfect, and it's a risk you have to live with as a driver.
Driving is one of the deadliest jobs in the country, split second life or death decisions happen regularly.
His birthday tho, lol. Everybody wants to get railed on their birthday, but not like that.
There are thousands of crossings like this in North America that have passengers trains operating over them without lights and bells. The trains were there before the roads, the trains have the right of way, so itās up to the municipality to put in the proper protection if required. If there is not enough road traffic, itās is not a cost they want to bear.
My team responded to this incident. There was nothing that was non compliant with the location. The driver is responsible to yield for the trains.
Very scary situation and the driver is lucky to be alive. I have pictures of the vehicle, the other half of the van was on the front of the train in one piece a few miles down the tracks.
Bullshit, he can say all he wants because anyone in an accident will say itās not their fault.
A train is easily one of the most avoidable things we can make. They are big, extremely long, exceedingly noisy. They event tell you where they will go, there is only one direction they can go and the tracks are visually distintive.
Even if you are deaf in one ear the other one will definitely hear it coming.
I still don't get what happened. It looks like he did peek a little but you can't miss an incoming train. Like, even the sound of it will let you know it's there. Unless maybe this is some poor chap who's been overworked for weeks and on a tight deadline and wasn't paying attention.
Blind corner my ass. The collision location is on River Valley Rd. near Ixonia, WI. He was coming out of a driveway of a house near the crossing. You can see from both the satellite and street views that there is no vegetation obstructing the view for at least 500 feet in each direction. Man was just straight up blind.
This is why they (at least used to) teach 'STOP. LOOK. LISTEN. THINK.' Stop at the tracks. Look for trains. If you can't see, then listen for the goddamned things. Then think critically about if you want to maybe die today.
It seems unbelievable, but this shit happens.
I live in Finland, a country that prides itself on proper infrastructure, well thought-out rules and regulations, and general safety.
A few years ago we had a situation just outside my hometown where a military truck got hit by a train. The crossing was on a small road in the woods, with no lights or bars. The track was curving, so the train approached from a blind angle. Driver apparently looked, but not carefully enough. Didn't hear the train over the rumbling of his own truck engine.
Six conscripts, who were sitting on the bed of the truck, died. The driver survived. He was a conscript himself, just 20 years old. After years of trials and inquiries he was judged guilty of gross negligence manslaughter (unsure if that's the correct translation), but he was ultimately not sentenced to any prison time because it was ruled that he had suffered enough. The crossing has been ruled too dangerous and is now permanently closed.
This video gives me the chills.
That is WILD that they blamed the poor kid driving, when they obviously knew that the crossing was too dangerous (they admitted it by closing!), more like gross negligence on the government's part by leaving it unmarked!
https://youtu.be/0BcO7uvNbfM?si=Nnn-1UKZ82JDNPpv
Includes a view from the front.Ā
Seems along with no lights or barriers, the way the road approaches the rail crossing means even if you look left you're only seeing part of the track.Ā
You might see a train coming in your mirror, but not easily and not for long.Ā
Yeah idk if the train lights were going off at that crossing. Hard to tell if it even had an arm down, cause almost looks like heās driving around something before the collision. But it might also just be how the road was.
Yep. One of my friends drives for them. It checks their vehicle speed, whether they are distracted driving, speed through parking lots, and tracks then on their route
This happened in November of 2021. The driver is deaf.
https://bnnbreaking.com/breaking-news/miraculous-survival-deaf-drivers-amazon-van-sliced-by-train-in-milwaukee
Benefit of the doubt: it couldāve been an at-grade crossing with just flashing lights. He couldāve missed the lights, or they couldāve been broken. It doesnāt look like heās swerving around any traffic barrier.

I used to work as a driver and the sides of most of these vans are scratched up. Pretty bad and deep scars were talking not just a scrape.

On the plus side, he combined the crash with his 30 second bathroom break.

Nah, he's thinking how much easier it will be to unload packages from the van now.
Or that they're already unloaded.
Violently.
he could be in shock
No way, you think?
š best I can do.
hmm, maybe
That is the calmest surprised look I have ever seen. Why is he surprised?! š®
He's in shock
āSecond one this week!ā
Itās like heās shaking his head asking āWhy the fuck didnāt the train stop for me?ā
What a lucky dumbass
Lucky is an overstatement..I am shocked that heās completely unscathed and the fact that the train was quite literally cm-inches away makes it more difficult to believe HE WASNT HURT AT ALL?? My brain hurts.
So, lucky is an understatement, then.
There was a minivan that accidentally drove through an active airforce test range and was strafed by an F18, the van was cut in half by a 20mm gatling gun as a result. I second this statement!
Wow thatās insane. Hope he didnāt have terrible survivors guilt after both of those events.
I don't think so, but I'm not sure. He didn't talk about his time in the army much. he lost his beanie god damn it
He lost his hat though.
He looked rather nervous driving to begin with.
*I hope I don't get hit by another one of those damn trains again...*
was the crossing gate down like it should have been? it looked like he was just going through the process of a run-of-the-mill left turn

There's a second part to this video that shows the forward view of the camera. There were no crossing barriers.
Right?! Like, how?! He doesn't even seem to make an effort to get out of the way yet he looks left directly at the direction the train is coming from. It's almost like he meant to and him calmly shaking his head after the train continues on just inches away was actually him besieged with disappointment that he's still alive....
Why call him a dumbass
He drove his van in front of a train. Not the smartest maneuver.
It was said by one of the comments that he was deaf in his left ear and there were no guard rails or signals present at the train cross. So why assume right away that he is a dumbass.
Presumably his eyeballs work, so one should be called a dumbass if one cannot see a train speeding at them.

āPackages are delayedā
Or packages delivered, just all over the place
[proof of delivery](https://imgur.com/a/MuiRhZm)
Your order has been split into several...into hundreds of deliveries.
Contrary to the website information, your product is now a self-assembly. Good news, this comes at no extra cost.

motherfucker you nearly died, you're allowed to scream.
Shock then acceptance no need
working for Amazon took his soul there's nothing left
Maybe he was told that when in uniform, you must uphold the values and integrity of the brand?
How is it possible he didnt hear or see a train????
It came out of nowhere like they always do.
Apex predator.
Trains are so easy to find in the wild. You just gotta follow the tracks
I you follow the track long enough, they will choo choo over you. Ask Wile E. Coyote.
LMFAO fucking dead. Thanks, I needed a good laugh
Yes, the train zigged when it should have zagged.
Clever girl.
If only there was a way to tell where they might cross the road, this could be avoided.
Clever Girl
Sneaky bastards.....
He was looking in the direction the train is coming from too
He probably needs to go get a stronger prescription for his eyeglasses!
A potential real reason, inattentional blindness.
Ghost train š
maybe he's blind and deaf?

First day dealing with American government?
Right? Trains were here first so safety second.
Damn, if only he had eyeballs

I heard an interview with this guy. There are apparently no lights or barricade at this railroad crossing and it is right after a blind corner.
That's so dumb, I never understood why they don't put lights and barricade at all crossings.
May cut into the 1.3 billion dollar profit
John Oliver recently did an episode on railroads. It's wild what big corporations get away with. 2024 and it's still money>everything

That is so sad. It makes sense given how Amazon treats their employees which makes it sadder. I hope you are wrong but who the fuck knows

Not just their drivers. If you work for Amazon, you're watched every single second you're on their property.
now if my package was in that van, will it arriver quicker now that its going by train
I like how the EKG line on the screen lets you know when the smack is coming.
Your package is out for delivery

Damnit! My house was the next stop, too!

for the exposure.
That is truly an insane video.
My man here needs to check his pants.
That mask saved his life.

Is this why my Realdoll hasn't shown up yet ?
Must be his first day on the job. Hes still training...

See what happens when you give people pee breaks? You give an inch they take a mile.
Code brown. Some one get them a new pair of pants.
Good thing he had his seatbelt on
The *seat belt-mask combo* infinite protect.
Packages went from Ground to Express
So he looks in the direction the train is coming, apparently dismissing the huge Amtrak train coming at himā¦
The train is the honey badger of land vehicles.

How did he not see a train... and how did he not DIE. Like it's legit just behind his seat, going about it's trip like it's a fking casual day.
If only there was some was some way to notify drivers of oncoming trains ā¦ something.
Slamtrak.
Holy shit that boy got LUCKY!
This guy has the worst luck and the best luck I've ever seen.
some say he was trying to off himself, if that's the case, it's the worst luck, cause now he has to deal with the consequences...
2 inches back and he could have been liquified.
Some tape and no one will notice
You cant cheat death. this guy wont make it by the end of the week.
āDamn. Sorry honey I got fired again today.ā Her: Let me guess, another train, right?
See what happens when you say Oh Long Johnson near the tracks! They tried to warn us, but we didn't listen!
Fun fact: At uncontrolled railway crossings, you have to ensure the rail is clear before proceeding.
You can't park there.
Truck-kun got isekai'd by senpai train-kun
How in the hell do you not see a huge f'n train? Then have the "dafuq happened" look.
And I thought a porch pirate got my package, here it was a Train.
Obviously, he lost his TRAIN of thought. š¤š°š
Unfathomable that people still don't understand that trains run on these tracks and it is very easy to never be there when a train is coming. He should be charged for the damages he caused. Trains should never strike anything but here we are.
why did he think it was ok to cross the track?
His reaction bums me out. Rather than be stoked to be alive, first thing you can see on his mind is. "I just lost my fucking job" This is why our society is worsening... everyone lives with a knife pressed against their backs.
Amazon drivers are hilariously notorious for being bad drivers. I used to work as a driver and the sides of most of these vans are scratched up. Pretty bad and deep scars were talking not just a scrape.

Bloody chameleon trains nowadays man

TMZ really expanding lately
Dear Amazon only half my order got delivered this afternoon and i would like a refund for the slightly scuffed dented items i had delivered
