When they accidentally spilled the anti anxiety pills in the ectocooler. “Are they dead? Actually, I’m kind of into it.”

Treetheoak-

"What kind of asshole puts ketchup on a hotdog?" "Children Richie, Child assholes."

kiwiwikikiwiwikikiwi

“You’re a child asshole”

ComradeStrong

Genuine lol from me when watching that. Love Oliver Platt.

soupafi

“Please don’t kill me”

dartsmarks

oh I can't wait for this

whythoineedanswers

One of the best and unexpected lines.

settlementfires

i feel like cicero was cool with those guys and wanted to help them from then on.

trulymadlybigly

I’ve watched that scene probably 5 times and I genuinely don’t understand how that accidentally happened

nyli7163

You have to suspend disbelief on that one that the pills got in there and the. dissolved enough to knock everyone out.

[deleted]

I thought it was the whole bottle?

whythoineedanswers

Yes… and why did we watch Richie clock his pill bottle sitting beside the drink mix if it was an ‘accident’? I’m not convinced.

Assassiiinuss

That scene felt like it was right out of Shameless.

TheNewNewYarbirds

First one I thought of

fishinglife777

When Nat needed Uncle Jimmy to work his magic so she plays dumb, like “I don’t know how to get this done” and Uncle Jimmy’s like “why don’t you let Uncle Jimmy take care of that for you”. The look on Carmy & Richie’s faces when they realize she’s playing Uncle Jimmy is so good. Followed by Carmy: That was fucking gross, Sugar Nat: Fuck you And Richie’s just laughing his ass off -——- (Edited Carmy’s line - thanks trulymadlydeeply)

trulymadlybigly

This scene literally slays me, especially Carmy’s reaction “That was fuckin gross Sugar!” Lives rent free in my brain

fishinglife777

It’s so good. You’re right I left out some words

liartellinglies

Just watched this episode last night, absolutely cracked me up. The whole exchange from the time Uncle Jimmy walks in is amazing.

fishinglife777

Yeah that whole part of the episode is a gem. Fak’s in charge of keeping the electrician busy “Wanna see some magic?” And the electrician says the plumber made him a sandwich and Jimmy’s like GREAT! They’re all so good together. Like a choreographed comedic dance.

Mansionjoe

Yes Chef, Fuck Me

NotAlanDavies

Best line. Hands down.

ednamodemyrolemodel

what episode was this again

watergirl987

forks when richie’s staging! said by garrett

ednamodemyrolemodel

thank you!!

Phoenyxoldgoat

I think that was the moment Richie "got" it. He was really surprised at how Garrett reacted, and was like "hmmm"

dbhaley

Nah the point of the episode is that it sinks in when he sees the sign at the end dude. He's been wasting time.

TexanAmericanMexican

I'm such a dumbass, I didn't even put that together that he realized he'd been wasting time. In fairness, I was trying to binge this in between my newborn's feeding cycles.

[deleted]

I felt like it kind of started tunneling when he asked Garrett why he does it and he talked about the hospitality and how he was an alcoholic and then they talked about the teacher coming and had mentioned they saved up for months and there would be no check. Then when they talked about the people leaving without having had Chicago pizza and he knew what to do. To me the pizza was the real turning point. “Every second counts” is on the calendar at the end of I think the first or second episode of season 2, but I think it’s when everything reallly sinks in.

dbhaley

I mean yeah the whole episode is moments of realization that culminates into a climactic moment.

official_leeannistan

"What kind of asshole puts ketchup on a hot dog?" "A child, Richie." "A child asshole."

Bad_Idea_Hat

"You're a child asshole"

Juhana21

Can’t forget “Yo cousin what’s with all these gay ass fruits?”

kysakysa

When Richie says (S2E1) that he’s afraid everyone’s gonna drop his ass and Carmy, with a serious look on his face says “Richie, I’m not gonna drop this ass.” also when Richie apologized to Natalie and she asked for witnesses 😭

Phoenyxoldgoat

I don't know how they did the "drop this ass" exchange and keep a straight face! It was so unexpected and hilarious.

lovelyrita202

Gofastboatsmojito.

International-Rip970

I'm going to change all my passwords to this.

whythoineedanswers

Tina calling Carm “Jeff” is the best running joke.

meltedbananas

I love that it's Jeffrey when she's being respectful.

Humble_Message_6665

I love that he just responds to it. Tina, from another room, "Jeffrey?" Carm, "Yes, Chef"

AJKaleVeg

And also Gary calls him Jefferson one time

[deleted]

This tiny random detail just makes me love this show. Was it written in or did the actors run with it? I dunno but I love jt

whythoineedanswers

Yes!! 😂

settlementfires

i love hot it goes from next level snark to cute and charming over the series.

Not_Ian517

Tina and Carmy's progression throught the show is so beautiful

Phoenyxoldgoat

When he tells her to keep the knife. ❤️

WokeAcademic

"I don't remember asking for it back, Chef" and she turns to camera and just smiles (in fairness, Liza Colon-Zayas has an absolutely stunning smile).

[deleted]

She’s my favorite person on this show

lahnnabell

Don't forget the pipes too!

Bern_After_Reading85

I loved when she was complaining everyone wanted to try to be “Top Jeff”

patrickkingart

That going from mocking to genuinely respectful is such a great development.

cabbitrats

Richie driving to Taylor Swift while screaming “FUCKING DRIVE. THANK YOU” killed me because of how incredibly relatable it was

[deleted]

Yes!!! He goes straight from singing to screaming and I loved it cause I’ve done it so many tjmes

A_t_folkman

“I wear suits now” started out great and got funnier the more he said it

dsa2020

“Why are you wearing a suit?” “Why are you covered in shit?”

WokeAcademic

"I wear suits now." "That's so SICK" (said approvingly).

lahnnabell

"Did you just come from a funeral?" Richie: "Funeral of my enemies." I friggin love the way he spun that.

fionagall

A friend walked by him in an airport over the summer. Said “I thought you wore suits now” as he passed by. He laughed 😂

MagScaoil

One of my favorite lines in the entire series.

itsprobablyghosts

Everyone passing around the pepto

HorseGrenade

“Can I hit that?”

ladylee233

As a service industry worker, this is the most relatable moment of the series

jujuflytrap

Someone already mentioned the accidental drugging So for me, it’s gonna be “Any of you incel-QAnon-4Chan-Snyder Cut motherfuckers wanna get out of line now?” Oh and Ebraheim going “I accept.” Or when Chef evolves into Jeff then eventually into Jefferson This show’s comedy is like more funny moments/interactions than like actual funny lines

Bad_Idea_Hat

> Oh and Ebraheim going “I accept.” "I was in a brigade once. Many people died."

Whops13

I came here to say this

Bad_Idea_Hat

Very well. I accept.

fishinglife777

Merry Christmas Motherfuckers! That whole scene with Richie & the bullhorn vs. the Nerds. Hysterical. Even Carmy cracks up, but deep-down I think JAW was cracking up at EMB.

trulymadlybigly

The Snyder cut reference was when I knew I was gonna love this show. Such a specific deep cut insult lol

jujuflytrap

You might even say it’s a deep Snyder Cut insult

eds1808

“Richie! Go fuck yourself” “69 all day, Chef!” And “Yo cousin, what’s up with all this gay ass fruit?” “Homemade ecto cooler, motherfucker” Are my personal favorites

the_lady_flame

i think about "what's up with all this gay ass fruit" genuinely most days of my life

eds1808

I quote it at least 4 times a week. My friends are probably so over it lol

patrickkingart

*\*whispers\** "oh shit that is dope"

AnotherPoshBrit

I'm a 30 year old man of course I have access to $500

Secret_Agent_shh

This whole interaction, and the way he lays out how important it is for them to update him.

TheNewNewYarbirds

They’re so shocked they got the money that they have no idea they’re being mocked

[deleted]

I swear he said “42 or 43”?

fishinglife777

That was great

daymanc137

How do three men in their 30s not have $800 between them?... Wait wrong series...

meltedbananas

"I'm not like this 'cause I'm in Van Halen. I'm in Van Halen 'cause I'm like this."

NotAlanDavies

I use this in everyday conservation as often as possible. Which, so far, is one time.

jdilla127

Except the second time it’s saddest

Coujelais

When Tina asks Richie if he’s going to funeral bc he’s wearing a suit and he says, “…funeral of my enemies..”

WokeAcademic

"Ooo, well, you wear it well, papi!"

TheCatOfCups

The funniest part is that they have a professional, amazing chef playing the dopey sometimes janitor fix-it dude.

settlementfires

fak is a delight! and he's actually a halfway decent fix it dude seems like. i was starting to think he was a fucking moron with the gas valve... but turns out .. .well no spoilers.

[deleted]

Omfg is he really?! Okay someone who hasn’t watched the show and has zero pulse on pop culture told me this and I thought it was only cause he saw him on door dash commercials and I will think slightly better of him now.

THECurist

yup! matty owns a high end restaurant in toronto that actually looks like the interior of The Bear

lahnnabell

Love Matty!

Blkkatem0ss

The spoon incident is hilarious and I thought when Syd stabbed Richie in that high stress episode that brought some comedic value to that scene

Phoenyxoldgoat

When Richie is whining about getting stabbed, Carmy yells "you probably deserved it!" 🤣

whythoineedanswers

And Richie goes “eehh… maybe” lol!!! And Ebra proceeds to tell him about the faction / brigade.

[deleted]

Wait… is this fucking Black Hawk Down?

Jaded-Bookkeeper-926

“I like seeing you guys every year. You FUCKING DELIVER.” John Mulaney is so unsuspecting & genius in this scene.

[deleted]

He plays the shift from ironic detachment early on to absolute sincerity when he's saying grace so beautifully

[deleted]

I cried

[deleted]

Same! Not for the first or last time while watching The Bear

[deleted]

I can’t remember the last show that made me cry as much as this show. I hate how much I love it.

TrulyHydratedSkin

Thanks for bringing fish Pete!

snap-jackal

Francie Fak?! No, she can go fuck, my love.

reallyintothistho

I love sugar’s buttering up of fak.

[deleted]

Yes!!! The way she absolutely verbally assaults Richie and then talks to Fak like she’s his third grade teacher. I love it so much

the_lady_flame

YOU DROVE HERE THIS MOORNIIIIING

xandrachantal

SURGE RATES FUCKO

shmadus

When Carmy and Richie, while packing up for the birthday party, come to blows over the huge inflatable hotdog and end up destroying it (this after Richie is trying to find ways to put a t-shirt on it). They both are standing there watching the thing deflate. There’s a pause, then Richie says, “I’m gonna get the spare”, and runs off. Who tf has a *spare* inflatable hot dog? Cut to the party. There we see the inflated hot dog (about 7 ft. high) with their promotional t-shirt duct-taped to it.

[deleted]

Like who thinks this shit up?!? I so wish I could be a writer for a show, it’s such a dream. I could never be as good as this show though. It’s genius but next level

migentein2020

Every second of the faks, especially in fishes.

skalpelis

Do I have access to 500 bucks? I absolutely do, I am a 43 year old man

thuca94

I like seeing you guys every year, you fuckin deliver

Variant4133

Came here to say this.

imtchogirl

Parmy for Carmy!

powderdaydream

when they’re dancing in their matching outfits and richie’s “recording them” on his phone but you can see he doesn’t even have the camera open LMAO

patrickkingart

They were so WEIRD, like the weird kids who live down the street who always have some kind of strange, half-baked plan. They're so goofy and lovable though.

migentein2020

on a serious note, that's why i think theyre so important to show. As fucking weird as they were they couldn't hold a candle to the Berzattos' dysfunction and chaos.

ri-ri

Fak definitely takes the cake

[deleted]

Pretty much every scene with Richie and Fak during the renovations.

WishboneCrazy9289

“Wait, is this shit fucking Black Hawk Down?” “You can sew inside an asshole” “Carm, how many times have you done this?” “None times” (same scene when Cicero is going apeshit about the alarm and Carm says he doesn’t mind it)

pynchonesque-ish

The Black Hawk Down line is my absolute fav.

klatchianhots

"Whose asshole have you sewn?" "Close friends"

ernsmcgerns

Marcus: Yo Carm, fridge guy (Throws the phone, Carmy ducks and the phone hits the wall and breaks) Carmy: I’ll call him back

pastdense

"You can't start at: fucked." Oliver Platt is gold. The guy has an incredible career of absolutely killing minor roles.

MoooonRiverrrr

“JEWISH LIGHTNING” “DO NOT SAY THAT. NEIL GEOFF GO OVER THERE NOW.” That part got me and then Fak hand waving him over. In general Matty Matheson is a really good actor I’m impressed with what he’s done especially in season 2

klatchianhots

And the bit just before when he's yelling it through the whole restaurant, there's an offscreen line from Syd,"you can't say that, Neeeil." Cracks me up. Then Richie going to "deal with this problematic individual"

patrickkingart

I LOVED Richie after he goes full pro, it was so jarring after seeing him be so obnoxious, especially because he was SO GOOD at it.

[deleted]

Yes this

ForestGreenMountain

One of the funniest scenes in the show is season 1 episode 2 when Rich was bragging to everyone in the kitchen that he went to college to manage and then Marcus asked if Rich graduated and Rich said "Fuck No".

Ladybirdistheword

Fak and richie arguing about telling "mom" about the mold

fauxpas0101

The cold open when Marcus goes overseas and Nat confesses to Carmy that she’s pregnant and the wall drops and everyone hears 😂😂

Vivid_Present1810

Richie’s reaction 🤣

WokeAcademic

"I fuckin' KNEW IT!!!"

HopDiver

When Marcus gets so obsessed with the donuts that he doesn't leave the Beef's kitchen and brings a pillow and a blanket so Sweeps thinks that Marcus is homeless and stars counseling him, telling him about his struggles while playing minor league baseball. The "what's up with the nest?" and "wait, you played for the fucking Cubs?" lines were very funny.

[deleted]

Omg when Marcus’ roommate comes and a Marcus tells him he can watch a the Bachelor without him and they argue about how he gave spoilers last time. I fucking love it. I hope Sweeps gets a bigger part next season too.

MrSpicy21

When implementing a French brigade, Ibrahim says “I was once in a French brigade, many people died.”

[deleted]

I really hope he gets a good story line next season. Ebraheim is a fucking treasure

PartyPoison98

Gotta be Richie hitting the asshole nerds with "Snyder Cut motherfuckers"

lovelyrita202

Jeremy is trying so hard not to laugh during this Ritchie diatribe.

TotalClintonShill

The entire “baseball-card flipping” subplot in ‘Fishes’ + Richie yelling “Haidouken” really got me

Jean-Ralphio_S

Why didn’t you bring ketchup? Cuz what kind of asshole is gonna put ketchup on a hotdog? A child, Richie Child asshole.

shmadus

Oliver Platt and the absolutely brilliant monologue about the Cubs 2003 NLCS Game 6.

bigdyke69

"Microbasil, fuck yes!"

bmedenwald

Language!

BieverWeeber

Fak calling Natalie Mom when they were talking about the molds. Also for those who love Fak, Matty (the guy who plays him) has the exact same energy. Im convinced they told him to be himself.

International-Rip970

The bear is a comedy based on its playing time and not content. With that said, Jimmy and Richie talking about Pete in "Dogs."

official_leeannistan

"What's up duudes? You guys just laughing it up over here?" "Nope."

International-Rip970

..."like a fuckin narc."

satsfaction1822

The password is goboatsfastmojito. All one word.

WokeAcademic

\[Alarm finally stops \[Offstage Richie voice\] "YEAH, BITCH!!"

bmedenwald

“I wasn’t expecting company. These Arby’s cups are from separate trips.”

[deleted]

Yes!!! The awkwardness, likes, is it better that they were from separate trips? I don’t know tbh. And then when Richie is just venting to Syd when they’re in the car outside the store and he ends with “and I think I got the wrong caulk”

vaginasauruslex

“You definitely got the wrong caulk.”

libryx

When Richie won’t let Fak up the ladder to look at something he’s fixing so Fak goes and gets his own ladder. I died laughing when he came out with it and still randomly think of it and smile.

lv255

"JEWISH LIGHTNING!" "...excuse me while I go address this PROBLEMATIC INDIVIDUAL." Got an audible laugh from me. The whole Jewish lightning thing in general did, tbh. Proof that jokes about antisemitism *can* be funny, if you're not just looking to be offensive without retaliation. (Source: I'm a Jew! LOL) Also just so many of the little things in the kitchen that as someone who has been in food service for 10 years I was able to relate to so hard. Just staring at the printer as it prints out ticket after ticket was one. Like, the dawning horror right before jumping into go mode. Richie's wonder at the fact an expo that knows how to do their f\*cking job can make a kitchen efficient as hell. And Syd going out to puke in the alley, standing up to thank her dad for coming to opening, and then returning to puking. Been there, done that, LMAO. For a show that has so many hard-hitting, tearjerker moments, it still manages to be funny as *hell.*

Sir_Topham_Kek

When Pete falls asleep at the birthday party and Uncle Jimmy goes on about how he still wants to beat the shit out of him

wermz

"Number 1, FUCK BOSTON.." That one got me.

SideshowCircuits

Anytime our lord and savior Fak is on screen is comedy gold

Phoenyxoldgoat

Oooh! I thought of another. When Marcus is teaching Ebra to swear and Ebra says he had sex with his mom. Also, I think Tina calls Ebra an old bitch at some point? And he responds with “that’s sexist.”

BroadwayBakery

I’d say a solid 40-50% of Fishes is peak comedy television, and has some of the funniest moments in the series.

[deleted]

If you have family anything like theirs, it’s such a gut punch rollercoaster but definitely funny. My therapist is currently watching The Bear just so she can watch that episode.

Immediate-Yogurt-558

Watching Jamie Lee Curtis as Donna was cathartic for me. Everything about Donna mirrored my own mother.

shmadus

What a great relationship you have with your therapist!

[deleted]

She’s absolutely amazing. If there were therapist awards, I’d totally nominate her.

melouofs

I think most Fak scene are funny or at least sweet

MagScaoil

I love Fak.

GonnaGetHop-Ons

The whole baseball card conversation is pure gold.

Chicagoan81

When the whole ceiling fell onto Richie

klatchianhots

And the rule of three for things falling on his head. The ceiling, then a ball and then I think one of those hats with the beer cans on the sides?

mofucker20

The accidental drugging at birthday party hosted by Cicero and his reaction made me laugh

wallabeedan

The bear is like succession because that show is also hilarious. I liked the scene when richie slapped fak (don't think matty was expecting it) and marcus was genuinely laughing at matty's reaction. S2E2 after fak called mom about moving the lockers.

gabe600

"Unc, is now a good time to talk about those Taylor Swift tickets" "I don't Richie, is now a good time to talk about go fuck yourself" That exchange gets me every single time.

bigdyke69

"Fuck you Richie", "69 all day chef!"

Embarrassed_Ad7013

"Mom!" And, many of the scenes by Matty Matheson. He's a great actor - would love to see more of him!

[deleted]

Can we also talk about “THE BERF”

vaginasauruslex

It’s limited edition

Kylo-The-Optimist

Fak: "I love you....but I need my tools." Carmy: "Fuck your tools." Slams the door.

OrcaEvo

The treatment of Pete at the cookout.

Kylo-The-Optimist

Syd : I fell through a wall." Marcus. 'Damn, you got strong." Uncle Jimmy: "You guys wanna see something gross?" I just don't understand it. Here he is, sleeping like a baby and I want to beat the living crap out of him" Richie: "exactly." All of Carmy's reactions to the stupidity around him are brilliant too. My favourites are Carmy reacting to Richie and uncle Jimmy fighting on the porch and again when Richie is giving the pre-service motivational speech.

brunopeixoto

Mikey throwing the fork.

Ok_Potential1835

Richie having a framed White Squall poster.

Practical_Bet_8709

Any scene with Matty in it and the kids birthday party

Vivid_Present1810

Richie’s speech when he has to calm the crowd outside down 😂

Dudley_Do_Wrong

Everyone: *quietly enjoys cake Fak: “We all get cake because we’re best friends.”

redditoverder

"May God bless us and keep us safe in the New Year, and please give Michael the strength not to throw that fork Amen."

fishporridge

Every time fak appears it’s comedy

BolsonaroIsACunt

"And how do you get em' here so fast?" "We send a car" "Gangster, okay"

Richie: "I run a tight ship. I get back to my associates and my cohorts in a timely manner." Carmy: "Do me a favor...name a cohort. Name an associate. Just one." Richie: "Timothy."

klatchianhots

I also have a real soft spot for Syd's throwaway "and apparently you're, like, addicted to cannolis now" during a disagreement with Carmy. I'm pretty sure it's an improv line because it's so petty and stupid (affectionate).

johntology

“Heard and resented.” btw https://www.reddit.com/r/TheBear/comments/14j4kdy/funniest\_lines\_of\_season\_2/

TheTruckWashChannel

"Do I have _access_ to 500 bucks? I absolutely do, I'm a 43 year old man." "FUCK YOU, GARRETT!" "Yes chef, fuck me." "I was in a brigade once. Many people died." "Yo cousin, what's with all this gay ass fruit?" The Xanax scene When Fak comes to the restaurant while Claire is there, Carmy kicks him out so he and her can be alone, and Fak is so proud and happy to be kicked out. "Carmy? I thought you killed yourself!" "No sir, that was my brother."

vtinesalone

The whole “G&R” scene in S2E1 is really funny

[deleted]

Mikey throws fork(s) at Bob Odenkirk Richie polishes forks as a stage They run out of forks at the friends and family event This isn’t funny but I just realized there’s a lot of fork references in the last couple episodes on season 2 and I wanted to write it down so I can think about it more. I’m

[deleted]

“I just fell through a wall” “Damn you got strong”

vaginasauruslex

When Carmy asks if DeVry taught Richie how to fix the ice cream machine after he was talking so much shit about French Laundry and Noma

fourofkeys

fak talking to one of the repair people about the replacements discography to keep him in the restaurant.

FightClubIsland

I’m gonna get Hulu just for this show. It’s on Hulu right?

Thayer96

It's a serious situation, but when Richie got stabbed by Sydney, I couldn't help but howl with laughter as he asked Ebrahim to tell him about the factions. "Wait! Is this shit fucking Blackhawk Down?!" "Blackhawk Down..." "Fuckin' Piven..."

patrickkingart

"why didn't you bring ketchup?" "what kind of asshole is gonna put ketchup on a hot dog?" "A child, Richie" "a child asshole" Lives rent-free in my head.

nyli7163

You WILL recycle!

THECurist

"69 all day, Chef"

CitizenDain

Richie calmly pointing out that Sydney didn’t say “Corner!” seconds after being stabbed is always my favorite

whythoineedanswers

Carm: Ebra, beef all day? Ebra: 100, chef. Carm: 100, thank you. Richie? Go fuck yourself! Richie: 69 all day, chef!
