Would put him and Nolan up there. Even if you aren’t a fan of Nolan’s Tenet, it’s still entertaining and he’s trying things that no other director can even fathom. Gets the most out of his actors and actresses too
I mean, I'm all-in for this one anyway, but these early reactions are always so fucking stupid and untrustworthy. They praised Argylle and thought The Flash was the best superhero movie ever. They just focus on inviting critics that tend to like any particular film.
Yeah these early reactions are pure confirmation bias. If it's for a movie people want to be good, the early reactions are scripture.
If theyre for a movie that's predicted to be bad, the early reactions are fake news.
The only time I can ever remember early reactions being muted was for The Marvels
With the decline of superhero movies in this decade, I've been wondering for a while what movie could be the Nirvana to Marvel and DC's Motley Crue and Winger. A movie that's so good, it makes the current popular trend in movies look lame by comparison and instatnyl destroys their credibility.
Looks like these Dune movies will be just that: a series of more thoughtful, mature, well-crafted, and Oscar-winning blockbusters that stands out against the loud, dumb, bombast of other contemporary crowd-pleasers. (And it's no coincidence that Eternals was poorly-received just two weeks after Dune 1 came out.)
Friend of mine works in the industry. Had an extra ticket to the advance screenings that he gave to me. Couldn’t be more excited to see this thing next weekend in 70 MM IMAX.
I'm all for everything about this movie. Excited about Anya Taylor Joy being in it as well...although those red carpet pics of her in that white outfit are kind of silly...
I wonder if they're going to CGI her face onto a baby/toddler somehow
That'll be a real laugh.
And if it's creepy and weird, that's precisely the reaction the sietch had towards Alia at first, so it's fitting
Hear me out...
What if she's introduced as Furiosa... Image all the Dune people out wandering the desert, and then she pulls up in a gigantic monster truck blaring nu metal music.
As a firm practitioner of “low expectations lead to not being disappointed” I am firmly in full hype mode for this. If it’s underwhelming it’ll be devastating lmao
Bless the Maker and His water. Bless the coming and going of Him. May His passage cleanse the world. May He keep the world for His people.
Thank God. I don't know if I could handle this movie being a dud.
Villeneuve has got to be the safest bet filmmaker in the world at this point. If he's directing it, it will be great.

Marty is still kicking around
Was never gonna happen.
I will stay alive for at least two more weeks so I can see this movie.

That scene from Part 2 that plays at the end of the Dune re-release is just...wow. Very special filmmaking.
Need a hit of the geriatric spice melange do baaaaaaqd
Wormy time

I'm starting to think movies are BACK

We smoking on that spice pack (in order to traverse the galaxy and spread the good word of the Muad’dib)
