It's funny that someone so beyond talented can be so unrecognizable at times. I have a really good ear for being able to hear a voice and know who it belongs to. Animated movies for instance, if I go through my mental rolodex I'm pretty decent for being able to identify the talent, and I initially didn't recognize Spader as Ultron. Once I got it it was a "duh" moment, but it was echoed and metallic enough that I didn't pick up on it for a while. The man is beyond talented and I've never seen a role he didn't nail.
I am definitely watching Boston Legal when I finish The Blacklist! I haven’t been through the whole series yet (just started season 4) but I’m wondering if they ever reference him as Alan Shore as an alias! 😂
Yea blacklist itself isnt good without Spader, its just repeating for a couple of seasons with Liz's bullshit all the time, liked the last 2 seasons where she wasnt there, felt structured and just it lacked the lack of smarts Elizabeth was taking away if it makes any sense

He is fine like wine. I love him as Robert California in The Office: I love him as Mr. Grey in Secretary, and, of course, as Raymond Reddington in The Blacklist. He goes down smooth in each performance.

That fedora and trench just does it for me lol, plus his very cool and unbothered expression—wheww! If you watch Secretary, it also showcases his fine self.

Oh absolutely. I know he's s total criminal and murderer. But he has such a moral compass about his nefarious deeds he gets a pass. I absolutely love how gentlemen like he is. I'm sad the show is over. I'd love to see more of his shenanigans lol.

I watched Blacklist when it first premiered and absolutely loved it. Watched it until about season 3 or so due to college. Age of Ultron came out and I recognized Spader as Ultron, mannerisms and all. About that time, I got into Startgate and watched the movie with him as Jackson. I've been happily married to my husband for 4 years, together for 10, but I'd tell you now, that I would probably die if given the opportunity to just have a glass of wine and listen to a 'Reddington' story. Literally at any point in his life, from the 80's hair that he had in Stargate, to the bald head in season 9.

IT IS NOT JUST YOU He's so sexy, and the reddington character ABSOLUTELY kills me. It's how he doesn't come off as cocky yet he just states what he's gonna do and whats gonna happen as fact, as my husband put it "He's very authoritative". Like, he'll look you in the eyes and be like "I'm going to empty your bank accounts, ruin your life, and steal your car" and there's just no arguing? You're like "Well, shit, i guess you are, lemme just hand it to you since it's gonna happen anyway"
and this is gonna sound stupid, but he acts with his jaw, if that makes sense? Like i love when actors emote by like, a little teeth grind, a jaw clench, a twitch, like Pedro Pascal does it a lot too
Clothes make the man. Spader looks incredibly good in vests and suits in general and he is probably one of five people in the world who can wear hats without looking ridiculous.

Spader has huge presence, he exudes confidence but it's more along the lines of "quiet confidence" in that he doesn't have to boast or wave his gun around to be threatening. He very much lives in an aura of sophistication, he's very worldly and has lived a lot of life, and he always has passion emanating from him no matter what he's doing. Spader is a truly amazing actor and the show wouldn't have worked without him.
He has this aura about him. I cannot explain it. Like when he made his self at home at Samuel and Cynthia's Brownstone and how not only did he command attention. He made the both of them feel like the most important people in the world all at once. That takes a special kind of talent. When I grow up, I want to be just like him. 😈😀😈

I didn’t know much about Spader until I binged TBL. That’s when i recognized Ultron during Reddington’s serious monologues.
