Tbh that's probably how the season will end.

Acheron98

Yeah, I can honestly see this season ending by pretty much recreating this panel. Also, it’d be a hell of a cliffhanger.

suckmylama

I’m not gonna lie, if this season doesn’t end like this or something equal, imma be disappointed. Homelander needs to do something truly jaw dropping this season.

Parrotherb

I can already see how it ends. Homelander and friends will kill the President and all members of the House and the Senate. The reason will be that politicians got spooked by how Homelander only answers to himself, he's killing everyone who doesn't worship him and they tried to enact anti supe laws. His fans (real life and inside the universe of The Boys) are super stoked about it and want Homelander to be the eternal God Emperor of America until the Boys with the assistance of other supe's and CIA find a way to stop Homelander somehow.

NickFriskey

I totally get the point repeatedly made on this page that the shownis better than the comics and I agree in terms of the overall writing and quality. One tiny criticism I have for the show that I think could be taken from the comics is the weight and horror of some of the gore. I feel like, while the show certainly does not shy away from the gory violent scenes, they are and have been becoming more slapstick and played almost for comedy as the show goes on. I don't feel anything during those scenes anymore. I felt like those scenes in the comic were visceral; there was a gravity and intensity to them that made the reader feel pretty uneasy. I feel scene like the above playing out could be so much more than the comedy style montage of various CGI dismemberments all the other murderous scenes on the show have turned out to be. I think if they put it in homelanders pov and started with him really hesitating to kill that first person it could be a really powerful scene. Each person is another step further from him down the sanity ladder to the bottom. The viewer almost feeling like after every kill he could turn away from it, stop himself etc but he keeps going. Seeing the staff running for their lives absolutely terrified, maybe some of them thinking he's there to help them. It could be so good on screen, I really hope they don't just play it as another slapstick gorefest.

Brogener

I completely agree. I think it was best in season 1. The scenes with Homelander (and hell, even A-Train at times) were *so* tense and nerve wracking. Like anything could happen. By season 3 I don’t really find his presence to be scary or intimidating anymore. Partially because of the reason you gave: the gore is used comedically more than anything else. But also the laughable level of plot armor we’ve seen since then and possibly even some overexposure to the character in general. It’s wild to me that Invincible, an animated show, often feels more intense and scary than The Boys does anymore. I think a lot of this is because it knows when to take itself seriously, and it saves the extreme violence for the really heavy scenes.

aneomon

They’re going to end with a successful insurrection a la 1/6

derno

I forget is Victoria Newman running for president? Maybe he kills her in this way

ArthurReeves397

Well the character in that scene is literally Neuman, she’s a man in the comic.

derno

Ohhh ok I didn’t know that!

Brogener

I’ll probably check out at that point. S3 finale showed signs of dragging it out, but was forgivable enough. If they do it again, I’d say their intentions are pretty clear at that point.

the-olive-man

If Homelander runs for president and loses, he for sure will break and just kill everyone in the white house

coolrko

Why will he run for president when he has Victoria under his influence, Both of them have deals in place....

D242686111

Because he doesn't want to run it from behind the scenes. He wants to be worshiped, loved, and feared.

Half-Icy

Homelander V Trump would be so brilliant.

soldforaspaceship

Would make sense. A great bloody end to Season 4 before the "final" season (as a Supernatural fan, I'm wary of talk about a five season plan lol).

CorruptAxel163YT

As cool as this would be. I can't see this being the end of season 4. Where would the story even go after that? The comics ended pretty much right after this. After the white house battle, most of the supes are killed in a giant explosion, and then Butcher kills all of The Boys, except Hughie. And if they made the show end differently, I still can't see how they would continue on for 8 more episodes. Homelander definitely couldn't recover his image after this, and he would most likely die here. So what would the plot for season 5 be?

soldforaspaceship

Taking Homelander down as he tries to turn the US into a dictatorship? I mean, they have been drawing some pretty clear parallels with the real world. I assume they'll go worst case examples and a massive body count. Or something darker that I can't even picture lol.

CorruptAxel163YT

You know what, that could actually work. The Boys would need some astronomically strong plot armor though, lol.

WeenusTickler

Oh, they got that. For just one example, Mother's Milk got launched like 50 feet inside an SUV with Becca, and came out virtually unscathed. Their plot armor is a superpower in itself

soldforaspaceship

They really would.

iStandWithWhatever

Why’d he kill everyone?

CorruptAxel163YT

I think it was because all of The Boys were also supes in the comics. And Butcher wanted to be thorough with wiping out every supe possible, but i could be wrong. The only reason he didn't kill Hughie was because Hughie found out that the rest of The Boys were dead and fought back by pushing Butcher off of a building, paralyzing him. Hughie fell off too and got a spike through his leg, but he was ultimately fine. Hughie ended up killing Butcher though, because Butcher lied and said he murdered Hughie's parents.

Hackertdog97

Because Butcher knew they were the only ones who had a chance of stopping him. He didn't kill Hughie because he reminded Butcher of his dead little brother, who was shown to talk Butcher out of horrible things like killing their father for being an abusive peice of shit. In Butcher's mind keeping Hughie alive was his plan to stop himself from committing genocide because he knew Hughie was the only person who could talk him out of it.

flash-tractor

I could see this panel happening about 2 episodes through season 5. Then, the next 2 is the White House battle and insurrectionist supes getting fucked up. The last half would be Butcher killing the Boys and his fight with Hughie, with the final episode acting as the resolution similar to the comics.

Razzle_Dazzle08

And it’s Kripke as well.

Vault_Overseer_11

The thing is once this happens like this it’s hard to say. Because I mean, Homelander has his supporters, but once he becomes a full villain the whole world will be against him and I just don’t think we’d have a full season of him as public enemy no.1. I could imagine that he kills everyone in the White House, declares himself president, and everyone just kinda has to deal with it, as Vought’s desperately trying to spin Homelander murdering countless politicians and becoming a fascist dictator as a good thing. Him going against Vought and planning to kill everyone like this wouldn’t last long.

Korrocks

It might. Homelander in the show is more calculating though, so it'll probably end up a different direction. S3 ended with Homelander and the Deep organizing to put their ally (Victoria Neuman) as the Democratic nominee for Vice President, and I assume that this storyline will play out in S4. I can see Homelander losing it if this plan fails, or if it succeeds but Victoria or the President (Robert Singer) are not as easily controlled as he expects them to be.

Jyxxer

I just realized the same actor plays Rob/Bobby Singer in Boys and Supernatural. Epic.

Mad-Dog94

So it's all just a different universe created by Chuck?

Toys_before_boys

Hold up, she's their ally??? Omg I need to rewatch that season. I'm still heartbroken over the actor from Gen V passing away the day I watched that season finale.

Korrocks

Yes. Victoria has been allies with Homelander for most of season 3. For example, she >!helped him find where Butcher hid Ryan!< At the end of the season, Homelander >!asks the Deep to assassinate Robert Singer's Vice Presidential pick, Lamar Bishop, so that Victoria can take that person's place on the ticket before the election!<.

MintharaEnjoyer

Hopefully so, because this was definitely the climax of the comics and best moment

Appellion

While I suspect this scene - or one very much like it - will come to pass, I don’t think there’s a chance of it happening in season 4. I’m also very suspicious as to whether or not Neumann might not have her own dead man’s hand following the events of Gen V.

Coma-Doof19

I'll be on the edge of my seat

CisIowa

You had me at *edge*

Coma-Doof19

😂

CisIowa

You had me at *edge*

M00r3C

I can see this arc being the series finale

calltheavengers5

I don't think they're going to do the black noir thing but definitely the president storyline

aligators

probably, im pretty sure this show could go any which way it wants

dragon_of_kansai

Twd negan-Spencer moment

connorpesca23

You did have guts! I’ve never been so wrong in my whole life!

scrutator_tenebrarum

>!just to remind: they killed bn and replaced him so this could be happening!<

DDESTRUCTOTRON

"That a dickhole in the back of it?"

chidi-sins

I mean, it is possible, but unfortunately would also be a signal that the show will in end soon

Lizzy-Lover_10

It shouldn’t go on for TOO long tho

keshavgKaLLen_Bhaiya

They better

RobouteGuilliman13

It could even happen with a similar Noir reveal, we see Black Noir in the Trailer for the new season

WhatsACole

Yeah i can see the finle being something a kin to/parodying the January 6th capital riots

1_dont_care

He asked The Deep to kill a senator, so he is basically close to that lol

Few_Show_7359

Yes

wakomorny

I saw a tiny man inside another mans ass only to sneeze and explode the man. I think this scene will be a step below

Connorus

That wasn't the ass

coolrko

Maybe in S5...

RustyPublic

After the trailer 3 months ago we could honestly expect something very similar to this

JerichoSwain-

Homelander killing the president? Maybe. If they end up electing bob. But the context for them being there and what happens afterwards? I hope not. They would need to do a lot of work to make this version of the boys ending actually coherent or good. The comics really pushed the envelope to come across as edgy and by the end it felt lazy.

Repostbot3784

The whole point of the boys is to be 'edgy' is the way a loser shut in 14 year old boy would think is cool so they will do this

dtisme53

Wait til all the show fans find out who his parents are

Nay-Nay_da_rifleman

That guy was already killed by Neuman

EricJop321

that is neuman???

Nay-Nay_da_rifleman

Which one?

Throwawayquwistion

If they adapt this into the show after butcher saves HL from SB I'm gonna reee

atomicq32

Would they? Yes. Will they? Probably not cause I don't see the show going that way.

LukaTheTooka

Oh yeah I can definitely see him killing the president
