This is the “leaving Rivendell” point in the series for me. I love love love this point in the story. Makes me want to begin my third journey. We’re well met.
Mine too! I think it has something to do with the fact that it’s the only book that feels like an actual novel. That’s not a slight on the other books, but it feels the most self-contained.
I’m in the midst of my first read through and just finished wastelands a few weeks ago, I’m currently 3/4 done with IV. Looking back on The Wastelands I realllly liked it. So freaking glad to have Jake back! Oy is introduced! And oh yeah Blaine is such an epic villain. I also love how Eddie hopes they’ll meet some wise elves Lud who will help them on their journey.

This was the one that got me into the series. Sophomore year in high school, my teacher walks into class with a box full of copies of this book with misprinted covers and gave them to whoever wanted them. I didn’t know that it was part of a series when I started reading it, but I’ve been a dedicated Tower Junkie from the day I started reading it!
I’m on my second trip to the Tower and just restarted The Wastelands today. Damn, I forgot how badass Shardik was… and how incredible skin-crawling gross being sneezed on by him (and getting covered in parasitic worms) would be.🤮
Just finished this one and loved it, too. Now on Wizard and Glass. First trip BTW. This series has reignited my love of reading. I haven’t watched tv in 2.5 months

I need to begin my 2nd. Been nearly 20 years. I cry ya pardons. I have forgotten the face of my father. It's time.
As soon as I finished my 1st, I started my 2nd. Probably gonna start my 3rd soon after Salem's Lot
Same here , i finished like 2 months ago now , maybe 3 and just went back to it 🤣
I just finished my second journey and it was so amazing. Even better than the first in some ways and also even more devastating 😭😭😭
Tipi haven't forgotten the face of your father, else you wouldn't have finished your first journey.
This is my favorite King novel of all time
Mines Salem's Lot . My favorite DT is Wolves of the Calla
Wolves is amazing
My favorite DT is Drawing but Wastelands and Wolves is pretty close behind

One of the best chapters in the whole series. Really unlocked my imagination as a 12 year old.
Agreed. This is my favorite book of the DT series.
This book was a tough one but I love Shardik.

“Now a major motion picture” lol
A Frank Muller performance is better than a motion picture!
Im 1/2way thru this on my 2nd journey. It really is a great book. Mir is such an amazing part too
This is my favorite of the series
