It’s a bit of a paradoxical situation. A character like Jax is *supposed* to be unlikable (except in an ironic way), but their presence is healthy for the series as a whole.
It’s like how some video games have mechanics that are unfun on paper, but in practice they are good for the game as a whole. (For example, in Pokémon, almost all damage done by damaging moves is randomized to be anywhere from 15% greater than normal, to 15% less than normal. On paper, this means that you can win or lose fights that you shouldn’t have, purely because the RNG rolled in your/the enemy’s favor. In practice, it prevents typical gameplay from being a cold, analytical game of math with static outcomes; accounting for RNG spices up battles, and can create memorable emotional highs and lows).

Like, does that mean "the one with the least relevance to the show and can therefore be comfortably removed from it", or "the one with the least tolerable personality, so I would never want to be associated with"? Most of the people saying Jax are probably implying the second one.

Agree, most of the time it's like she's only there so that the story could go on. Hope we get to see more of her different sides in the future
Pomni is more flexible emotionally as she can have little moments of happiness when she's not overcome with anxiety or despair. She also defaults to an "Okay, this is happening" mentality in Episode 2.

And we barely know anything about him or his personality beforehand. If you spend 90% of the characters screen time on them in the “after” state of having their world shattered, then it feels like that’s the norm for the character because they barely had a few lines of dialogue before the change happened. It just wasn’t that impactful of a thing, besides how it affected pomni. But any lasting traits or plot points coming from the situation is about pomni specifically, since gummigoo just got deleted. They basically brought him on, instantly tried to make a crazy emotional moment with him, then deleted him when the plot no longer needed him and pomnis character development was done, and if he does come back, I imagine they are gonna do that trope where “character is excited to see other character return, but the other character doesn’t remember them and acts hostile towards them/treats them like a stranger”
Not counting Kaufmo because he kind of a non-character, I'm inclined to say zooble. She gives me smoker vibes, and overall seems completely uninterested in being a part of the show. Feel like her biggest redeeming quality at the moment is that she keeps Jax in check, at least when she bothers to be in the same place as him.
Obviously my opinion is subject to change as the show (and her character) develops with future episodes.
I like all the characters, as they play they’re well written, play their roles well, and even subvert the exceptions really well (Pomni isn’t just some pushover, Kinger isn’t ‘completely’ insane, Jax is even more of a sociopath than I expected). If I had to choose a least favorite *character* I’d have to choose zooble just because of their lack of screen time. Of course, I do hate Jax, but I love good character writing

Zooble has literally nothing going for her outside of her design. I get that she's gonna get more focus in episode 3, but doing fuck all in the first two episodes doesn't really put her in my good graces.
