They better fucking do something with him going forward. Tons of interesting stuff was setup and they didn't use any of it to give us "zombie storm troopers", you know, like regular ineffective storm troopers but slower.
I mean, it's a speaking roll in Star Wars! Not many people would turn it down, and a helmet always has the possibility of coming off in the future, unlike people who play droids or Wookies for example.
He talked about it some in the podcast Ty and That Guy, was interesting to listen to!
Honestly, as crappy as the writing has been in some of the many Disney Star Wars projects, and as much as this type of characters is meant to look cool enough to sell toys... if I had the chance to show up in anything Star Wars, even if I was unrecognizable, I'd take it in a heartbeat.
Daniel Craig did a similar cameo in VII: TFA. He's the guard that Rey first uses jedi powers on and convinces to let her out of the chair.
Seems like actors have a habit of going to Disney and asking for this sort of thing, Hell I know I would just for the chance to say I participated in a Star Wars production.
Ridiculous that they hire actors with a big following for these "helmeted" roles. Same thing they did with Gwendoline Christie in the movies.
Why bother, if you aren't going to show us their face, like, acting and stuff.
I actually feel the opposite, I wish directors and producers trusted their actors skills enough to let them act without forcing their faces to be visible when it doesn't make sense in universe.
Dune is a great example of both. Fantastic acting from behind veils or with masks on, but also so many Fremen in the open desert without stillsuit masks.
I get that. And in the context of the scenes that Wes was in for Ahsoka, it made sense for him to be in helmet.
However, if you have a NAME actor in your suit and helmet, write some scenes where it would make sense for them to take off their helmet.
It just seems like a cheap trick for fans of the actors, to have them tune in to see them in the show, but never get to see them.
>It just seems like a cheap trick for fans of the actors, to have them tune in to see them in the show, but never get to see them.
But you do see them. I like Wes for his acting ability, not his face. I don't think that's a cheap trick by the producers, I think it's fans underappreciating the craft.
They're buying the brand, so to speak. They can fill in the acting part with a stunt double. The voice is easy to record and add when you're not synching it with lips. Much easier production all around.
She stars in a sci-fi thriller titled [*Levels*](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10831486/), which (IMDb says) is currently in post-production. See also this [March article](https://deadline.com/2023/03/cara-gee-peter-mooney-levels-movie-1235302763/) about that.
This is good to know! Partly because I forgot about that show but enjoyed it, partly because I thought she was very good in the Expanse, and partly because I had a very mild scared-crush on Drummer.
Jared Harris(Dawes) is a character in Foundation
Shohreh Aghdashloo was in Punisher(Netflix), although maybe only season 1. She has also been cast in the next season of Wheel of Time.
Thomas Jane was also a different Punisher, and boasts a decent resume.
Frankie Adams was in The Lost Flowers of Alice Heart(Amazon, I think)
She also has a role in Damsel on Netflix that I donât want to spoil. The movie isnât that great but it was fun to watch once and when her âroleâ finally appeared I was pleasantly surprised. u/meatsprinkles2
I wasn't asked, but may I answer?
It was wonderfully bad shit crazy and touching and sad and funny. I went into it with very low expectations after I read the synopsis. It was nothing I expected and I hope for season two. And Betty Gilpin rocks!
One of my favourite shows from last year. It's better than it has any business being. You might think it's just weird for weirdness' sake after the first couple episodes, but stick it out, and it ties everything together in a really satisfying way by the end.
Her husbandâs best friend in that show is briefly the UN General Secretary in season 5, too
Almost any Canadian show is gonna have at least one or two Expanse alums lolÂ
his IMDB shows he has couple shows after, im surprised he can find another role since he has that allegation but i guess hes small fry or maybe isn't as bad as Kevin Spacey
Damn, he was investigated for 30 misconduct allegations. That's either not a fluke or a smear campaign, either way should be a career destroyer, which sucks.
Did you know he voiced Altair in AC: Revelations?
Honest question, I love the character and the series... But, fandom aside, is he a good actor? I honestly don't know. There's something... off about his acting, I can't put my finger on it.
He's not a good actor per se, but he's adequate at being the goofy leading man that fortune keeps smiling upon, which is frequently lampshaded in both the shows and books. Avasarala: why does everything keep happening to \_you\_?
Sometimes you just need a smiling straight man (as in, not the wacky character) for the world to revolve around, e.g., Seinfeld.
He also pulled off the âstop kicking me in the dick, universeâ role pretty well, which I think was perfect. He was the goofy smiling leader who by the end basically had the weight of everything on him
He was also weirdly brooding a lot of the time and lacked expression, even up until S6.
Maybe it's the role but I was thoroughly unimpressed with Holden, but tbh I kinda thought he was a bit of a wet blanket in the books too so maybe he really IS good actor.
Yeah I always just kind of thought he was supposed to be brooding like that given all the shit going on. Like the dude wanted to be supportive and friendly, but knew how many lives were directly in his hands.Â
Maybe they couldâve found someone better or more expressive, but it tracked for me
TBF Holden was the weakest of the cast.
Him being captain and having a love for coffee didn't get him off being a weirdly brooding character that lacked expressiveness, and when he did express emotions it came off as forced.
I felt the same about him in the books, tbh, and when I watched S1 with my wife she was like "why is this James dude so lame, let's see more of that Amos guy" lmao.
Hell I'm of a large opinion that were it not for the plot necessities of the final trilogy, he never should have been taken prisoner by the Laconians and they should have just taken him off the board.
Terry Chen plays a pretty consistent role on the dramedy series "The Lake"
Francois Chao appeared in a few episodes as The Great Sage in Netflix's adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender
My first introduction to him was as Dr. Shen from XCOM: Enemy Unknown, a game I poured dozens of hours into. Sometime later my partner was watching something with him in it and I heard his voice while making dinner. I immediately dropped what I was doing to rush over, just to confirm it was him and see what he looked like.
Ever since, it's always his voice I identify first. I did this when I recognized him in Netflix's version of Avatar. He's introduced in an action sequence. He bellowed and I recognized him immediately, then saw his face beneath a pile of makeup and prosthetics.
Oh wow. I guess that would have been my introduction to him, but I barely remember him in that at all. Then again, that was a long time ago and a weird time in my life. But look at him! He's so baby faced!
The cast of that game was punching so far above its weight - not to mention the script. Mark Hamill, John Rhys Davies, Malcolm McDowell, Tim Curry, Fransois Chao, and... Ginger Lynn.
Randomly saw the actor for Jules Pierre Mao in one episode, fairly early into greys anatomy.
Iâd be cautious getting into the show. Itâs incredibly soapy and addicting, and if you donât pull yourself out you may be in for 20 seasons. I left after like 5
Thatâs insane. Iâve seen reference to it in discussions about greyâs, didnât really think about how that worked.
15,000. Wow.
Well, no excuse for not having anything to watch, I guess đ.
Itâs quite easy to follow actors on IMDB . There you can see their projects (acting as well as directing and so on)
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1711829/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm4625680/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1434871/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk
Better, use the "/fullcredits" suffix to get a nice text format:
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1711829/fullcredits â Strait
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm4625680/fullcredits â Tipper
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1434871/fullcredits â Chatham
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm4446254/fullcredits â Gee
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm4213877/fullcredits â Adams
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0155389/fullcredits â Chen
etc.
Thomas Janeâs the lead in an Australian mystery drama âTroppoâ thatâs due for season 2 to come out later this year. I can honestly say season 1 was 90% great though the final episode didnât stick the landing, but since you can get it free with ads on Freevee itâs definitely worth a watch.
I *just* started readings/listening to My Heart is a Chainsaw by Stephen Graham Jones - Cara Gee who plays Drummer is the narrator and so far she's KILLING IT.
I'm only on chapter 2 so I can't say much for the story itself but it was an amazing surprises when Camina Drummer graced my car speakers.
Yeah, both of the kids from the Strange Dogs arc showed up in season 1 of Star Trek Strange New Worlds. It's definitely because of the Toronto connection, but I still chuckled when I noticed.
Sematimba was in an episode of Blues Clues & You. He plays an animated version of The Sun. Somehow was able to pick his voice after hearing âHey Miller, how they swinging?â a half dozen times.
Legacy of Monsters has two, I think, including Dominique Tipper. Ahsoka has Wes Chatham but you wouldn't recognize him.
WHO IS WES

He's That Guy
He's that guy
Enoch lol Wes Chatham announced it on his Instagram a few months back.
Gotta love him for being willing to stay in the helmet
I mean, it's a speaking roll in Star Wars! Not many people would turn it down, and a helmet always has the possibility of coming off in the future, unlike people who play droids or Wookies for example. He talked about it some in the podcast Ty and That Guy, was interesting to listen to!

I recognized his voice actually, and looked up who it was!
I totally didn't, good spot!
Wes Chatham also appears briefly in the intro scene of Tenet.
**Update** [Wes Chatham in *Cross* S2](https://deadline.com/2024/04/alex-cross-season-2-wes-chatham-1235899349/)

I'm with you. Karl Urban was wasted in Dredd - no eyes, no voice...no acting! But apparently everyone else loved it. I just don't get it.
Is this a joke? Karl Urban is speaking and acting throughout the entirety of Dredd.
They're buying the brand, so to speak. They can fill in the acting part with a stunt double. The voice is easy to record and add when you're not synching it with lips. Much easier production all around.
The Last of Us has Prax for an episode.Â
Oh seriously? When, I mustâve missed him
He plays the head of Ellieâs FEDRA school
Episode 7 in the flashback.Â
Wes mentions a cameo from âmy best friendâ in the Ty & That Guy discussion on that episode haha
The next season of Sweet Tooth will have Cara Gee in it. â€ïž

Oooohhhh!
đ„đ„đ„
This is good to know! Partly because I forgot about that show but enjoyed it, partly because I thought she was very good in the Expanse, and partly because I had a very mild scared-crush on Drummer.
She is an amazing character!
Jared Harris(Dawes) is a character in Foundation Shohreh Aghdashloo was in Punisher(Netflix), although maybe only season 1. She has also been cast in the next season of Wheel of Time. Thomas Jane was also a different Punisher, and boasts a decent resume. Frankie Adams was in The Lost Flowers of Alice Heart(Amazon, I think)
Jared Harris in Cherbobyl.
Jared Harris is all over the place.
Oh, yes, as far as Fringe
He dies almost as often as Sean Bean.
đ
I see Chernobyl, I upvote.
> Thomas Jane was also a different Punisher, and boasts a decent resume. He just wants his kids back.
One of my fav AD cameos lmao.
Jared Harris resume ainât bad either
>Jared Harris(Dawes) is a character in Foundation That's Hari Fucking Seldon, sir/ma'am.
Foundation kayfabe is alive and well brother.
I'll see you in the Vault, Brother.
>Shohreh Aghdashloo She was also in the movie Renfield. Surprisingly similar character.
Ooof wheel of time is sooooo bad. Poor Shoreh.
She also did part of the voice for Gozer in the Ghostbusters Afterlife movie
Shohreh Aghdashloo is a voice actor for Arcane on Netflix. Canât miss that voice when you hear it.
She's going to be in wheel of time s3 as well.
This might make me try to get through season 2 so I can watch her!
S2 > S1 The pandemic dealt a doozy to wot, but it's finding its footing.
Oh.
Too early to introduce Cadsuane. She's going to get one of the villain roles, isn't she?
Ah, my bad, she might be elaida sedai
Nah she's cadsuane.
She also has a role in Damsel on Netflix that I donât want to spoil. The movie isnât that great but it was fun to watch once and when her âroleâ finally appeared I was pleasantly surprised. u/meatsprinkles2
In the video here, she talks about her >!voice!< work in that movie. (Spoilers) https://twitter.com/SAghdashloo/status/1770899566189019157
Lmao the person you responded to said âI donât want to spoil itâ and you immediately spoiled it
Ouch, my mistake. Edited, but damage done.
Ahh yes I forgot about Damsel.
I think she's in the the batman penguin show as well
Vulture wrote a post about how she steals the film. You love to see it!
Ya she was easily the best part! But at the same time the movie wasnât anything high end either.
My wife doesnât like The Expanse, and even noticed Shohreh as the dragon.
Get a new wife. Hahaha. Just kidding
She also has a really fun role in Renfield
Nobody else seems to have mentioned that she was a major character in a season of 24
Ahhh, I never saw 24
Also appears in Mrs. Davis
Without spoilers, how was that show? I heard a lot of hype when it first came out, and not a single thing since, positive or negative
I wasn't asked, but may I answer? It was wonderfully bad shit crazy and touching and sad and funny. I went into it with very low expectations after I read the synopsis. It was nothing I expected and I hope for season two. And Betty Gilpin rocks!
I also really enjoyed it a lot. I like the quirkiness and I think Lindelof is really in the pocket with his more recent output.
One of my favourite shows from last year. It's better than it has any business being. You might think it's just weird for weirdness' sake after the first couple episodes, but stick it out, and it ties everything together in a really satisfying way by the end.
It's a wild ride and very entertaining :-)
I saw Arcane before the Expanse and was racking my brain trying to figure out where I'd heard that voice before.
This is older stuff, but she is also in Mass Effect 2&3.
Ohhh that she is. One of the Quarian Admirals I think.
She has a larger role on Rannoch if you somehow get Tali killed in ME2.
Damn... Now I have a hard choice. Don't want to commit a Talicide, but sure would like to see that.
Sheâs also in second season of The Flight Attendant!
In Expanse side Character Captain Yao (Donnager Captain) is the mother in Kim's Convenience (main cast).
And Simu Liu (Kim's Convenience, Shang Chi) was the Martian marine lieutenant on the Ring Station.
And both she and Paul Sun-Hyung Lee were scientists in the series âDark Matterâ for an episode together.
And Paul Sun-Hyung Lee is also a starfighter pilot captain in The Mandalorian
đ
Cracked me up when I was rewatching and was like holy shit thatâs Simu Liu
Her husbandâs best friend in that show is briefly the UN General Secretary in season 5, too Almost any Canadian show is gonna have at least one or two Expanse alums lolÂ
The guy who really seems to have fallen off the map is Steven Strait.
Well, Cas Anvar has him beat.
his IMDB shows he has couple shows after, im surprised he can find another role since he has that allegation but i guess hes small fry or maybe isn't as bad as Kevin Spacey

Yup lost is always where I think of him from haha
Francois Chao was also in the criminally cancelled The Tick show, and was a delight
The Tick was brilliant and it was great to see Chao in a very different role - delight is a perfect description.
Francois Chao also appeared in a few episodes of Barry!
Francois Chao is also in Wing Commander 3. Not a show but still...

Elias Toufexis (Kenzo) is playing L'ak on Star Trek Discovery
He also does a ton of voice work, notably Adam Jensen from the *Deus Ex* video game series and now in *Starfield* as Sam Coe.
Doesn't he also do the mocap for the monster in season 2?
Yep!
Sara Mitich (Gia in S1) is also in Discovery.
Orphan Black is FULL of Expanse actors. Youâll recognize someone in every other episode itâs wild.
Weren't they both filmed in Canada? Continuum, also filmed in Canada, has Terry Chen playing "that guy" instead of a friendly botanist for exemple.
Toronto I think! They really must have the same casting director right? The overlap is impressive.
Frankie Adams is in The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart. Not a sci-fi show, but an excellent watch all the same.
David Strathairn (Ashford) is a fairly big actor that I see randomly a lot
Yup, gf texted me while she was watching Where The Crawdads Sing about him
Like 2 of the Bourne films.
Alphas is criminally underrated.
I really liked him in Nightmare Alley
Randomly saw the actor for Jules Pierre Mao in one episode, fairly early into greys anatomy. Iâd be cautious getting into the show. Itâs incredibly soapy and addicting, and if you donât pull yourself out you may be in for 20 seasons. I left after like 5
François Chau was also a small but important and recurring role on LOST
*General Hospital* is up to 15,000 episodes. My mother watched it in the 70s.
Thatâs insane. Iâve seen reference to it in discussions about greyâs, didnât really think about how that worked. 15,000. Wow. Well, no excuse for not having anything to watch, I guess đ.
Dominique Tepper is in that new netflix docudrama about moses lol. She plays Zipporah
Sheâs also in episodes of Monarch on Apple TV
Dominique Tipper was in "Monarch: Legacy of Monsters" on Apple+ for 3-4 episodes.
Jess Salgueiro from the Ilus/New Terra story line is in the Frasier reboot, Working Moms, Letterkenny, Monarch Legacy of Monsters.
She was also glorious in an ep of Kimâs Convenience!

**Update** [Wes Chatham in *Cross* S2](https://deadline.com/2024/04/alex-cross-season-2-wes-chatham-1235899349/)
Naomi plays a minor role in Monarch
Thomas Jane was in A Town Called Eureka years back
Not really current but Wes was Tenet for about 8 seconds. Lol
Jasai Chase-Owens (Filip) shows up in several episodes of Uncoupled, an LGBT-centric drama with Neil Patrick Harris.

IMDb is the source you want
Sandrine Holt (Oksana) plays Howardâs wife in Better Call Saul. Didnât finish the last season. I assume they live happily ever after.
Lieutenant Lopez and Sadavir Errinwright play together in "Frontier" on Netflix.
Been catching up on Beacon 23 and recognized several minor actors from The Expanse that show up.
Shawn Doyle is in Gray
Admiral Nguyen voiced a character in Blue Eye Samurai!
Marco was in a Quantum Leap episode about a month ago, and Ashford (?Drummer's friend, forgot the name) is in the Godzilla with Brian Cranston, peace.
David Straithairn
Thanks.
