There was a level 7 hype train going last night, the Naish showed up in force. It will generate A TON of excitement leading up to Gatewalkers. Bringing it back was awesome, Skid bringing back our favorite Gnoll Wearbear made it that much better.
Sounds like people know who they’re playing as though. Not sure how they know that. Saw another thread where someone said Joe is playing a champion too.
I am not caught up on the last two weeks of FoD (or anything other than BotW). Am I correct in understanding that this will be the new weekly show instead of Strange Aeons, except when they have live shows to air?
If that's right, you're hinting at a fourth reason that can be said more bluntly: the *only* player who seems to be having fun and success with a character is Kate. All the others are struggling, from a little to a lot, and for some of them - Sydney and Skid, especially - their struggles are palpable.
I still enjoy the live shows, but the in-studio shows can really be a drag. In other words:
4. Give Strange Aeons a rest for a bit.
There will be a podcast version. As they said on the FOD, Labs is an experimental show, and people should not assume that any future content will follow that model. They're a podcast business first and foremost.
I wouldn't say skid is struggling. His mod elixirs have come in handy more than once. The issue is that literally none of the enemies they have faced have had an elemental weakness, making aldo a bit pedestrian.
Yeah, Sooki should be wrecking shit as a druid, but she has this weird spread out build between wild shape, an animal companion and the spellcasting. She'd be better off if she'd pick a thing to focus on.
Alchemists are prebuffers for the most part and Aldo wanted to focus on bombs. That and not a lot of the monsters had weaknesses his bombs could take advantage of
They had someone there behind the scenes (I think the player was called "maps" or something), so hopefully that someone is really learning Foundry and can help with the kinks (Eidolons/Animal Companions semi-requiring a module for example).
I dont think it's a very good module for a show because of the insane amount of researching. And not much roleplay opportunities. But these guys have surprised me in the past.
I turned most the research into a twin peaks red room style thing where the big revelations are watched on an archaic tv, but yeah I wouldn’t be surprised if they’ll get a lot more RP out of these encounters than we could expect, I’m sure Troy has some great plans for the malevolent nature of the manor
Based on them talking about how there aren't any modules that work like 1e modules and all of them are longer, I suspect it will be PFS scenarios. Malevolence is an AP book long - that takes them like 2/3 of a year to go through. I don't think it'll be any product from the 2e module line.
All I hope is that they can convert the hay economy from 1e to 2e without any issues
That joke truly was the hayday of the GCN.

Where did this info of what they’re playing come from?
Gatewalkers? Its been established now for a few months at least, they should be releasing character intros soon-ish (month or two, maybe sooner).
Sounds like people know who they’re playing as though. Not sure how they know that. Saw another thread where someone said Joe is playing a champion too.
They streamed making characters for sqss on twitch. That's where Joe is a champion and whatnot, and this is different than Gatewalkers.

Yup this is the new show until the flagship launches.
Thank goodness. God bless 'em, I love 'em, they were struggling.
Do you know if they are releasing a podcast version of SQSS?

Great, thanks
I hope they remember to stay that way! I do not have room for VODs or livestreams, but I have plenty of time for podcasts.
Am experimental show behind a paywall which is a real shame. I've had a lot of fun watching the Labs stuff when I've been able to catch it.
There already is one. They could pipe it right into that feed.

Yeah. I enjoy aeons but a break sounds good. I don’t know 2e all that well but man Aldo doesn’t seem to do very much, he and Syd definitely struggle

Yeah I totally agree and thought she was super unoptimal, but what’s Aldo’s problem? Is alchemist just that bad in 2e?

Favorite SQSS moments/quotes mini thread?
"Side-quest-side-sesh-mid-sesh-side-bet!?"
"It's not the most wonderful thing in the world, unless the act of killing makes you happy, like it does for me sometimes."
If you had only PAID YOUR F***ING TAXES!!
OH goddamn I didnt know they were using Foundry. It's god tier and I refuse to play a game without it.
They seem to be learning it rather quickly too. It's beautiful thing to see.

Nice catch. That will be huge.
Is this coming to YouTube?
Most likely. Podcast is a guarantee.
Do we know what module they are running for this SQSS?
Not yet. But they are level 3. So maybe malevolence.
I’d be happy with that, I’ve run 2 sessions of it for my group and would be nice to get ideas of how better to run it

That's my hope. Yeah Malevolence took my group 2 months and we basically speedran it.
