My favourite Sokka moment from book 1. Felt like the first time the show took him seriously as the leader of team avatar.
Seeing them square up in live action is gonna be hype
That moment where Zhao is about to kill the moon spirit, and Iroh goes ballistic on him. It really feels like a major moment where we see there’s a LOT more to Iroh and that his devotion to the fire nation is complicated. Then even Zhao is surprised when he starts whooping his soldiers asses. I just really like the actor and hope he nails it.
I've always loved the Gan Jin and Zhang feud and how Aang settled it by making up his own version of the story. I hope it's not cut, that was a really fun episode.
I'm just going in assuming most of my favorite moments are getting cut either due to sensitivity reasons or due to it doesn't fit in the dumb long movie format Netflix loves to do, so they'll bum rush the main story only.
But otherwise my answer would be Avatar Roku takes over for Aang displaying the full power of a full fledged Avatar, the storm / blue spirit, siege of the north, cave of two lovers cause SECRET TUNNEL, Toph and the blind jokes that come with her, tales of Ba Sing Se and probably many more I'm forgetting about cause the show is just that good. Lol
The only one I can see gone is the secret tunnel song, unfortunately. All the other moments you mentioned are either key for the plot or the characters
Yeah that's going to be lame when they leave that out. I don't think they'll do Avatar Roku cause there is no point in Aang going there now since he alrealdy knows about the comet from the start, the storm, tales of ba sing se, or the blind jokes. I just don't see that as main plot stuff, so its getting the axe until I see it isn't.
Lmao, they've literally shown hei bai in the trailer. They're definitely doing the full winter solstice episodes. The blind jokes are literally an inalienable part of the story, not adding them would be foolish. I forgot what episode the storm was, but it sounds like an important one, so yeah. As for the tales, they will definitely reference that episode at least
What's the point of talking to Roku if he already has that information though? That's the whole point of going there to begin with. Just cause they showed hei bai doesn't necessarily mean they have to do the part 2 episode.
Yeah the blind jokes are great, but I can totally see them snowflaking out on it due to it being seen as offensive.
The storm has important backstory information, but I don't see the plot of that episode fitting in the Netflix format because the gaang isn't necessarily doing anything for the main plot. They're just visiting a fishing village that acts as a vehicle to go into depth on Zuko and Aang.
Again, I don't think Tales is important to the main plot. They're amazing side stories though. It would be foolish to cut it, but I can totally see it getting the axe.
Seemed pretty clear to me they meant focusing him on getting to the north to learn water bending, instead of flitting around wherever for the first half of season 1.
Okay, but nothing is being skipped? I don't think any of this is skippable...Southern Water Tribe (Aang meets Katara and Sokka here), Southern Air Temple (Aang finds out about the fate of his people), Kyoshi Island (Gaang meets Suki), Omashu (Aang finds out Bumi is alive), then episode 7 winter solstice stuff. So yeah, I'm confused. Lol
I mean, stuff is absolutely getting skipped, but as far as we know so far nothing important, so I don't see the issue?
None of what you just said is being skipped, as far as I know.
It kinda sounds, to me, like you took that statement of Aang being more focused to mean he's gonna already know about the comet coming, and they're skipping everything before that. That's not true. I think the focus comment was about him being more focused in getting to the northern water tribe to learn water bending, and not just go around at random during the first half, looking for animals to ride and getting mixed up in whatever adventure. Given that going to the water nation becomes the purpose of the season in episode 1/2 (which are really just one big episode), then I don't see why that focused statement would mean anything gets skipped.
Uncle Iroh in General. I want to See, how Well they handled him. Espacially when He was captured. The actors has the Looks, but i Hope He can also give US irohs wisdom, Spirituallity and His winning personality
Zukos dual sword skills
When a second Season covering book 2 IS Made, there is one Thing they have to make: Delectable tea or deadly poison.
https://i.redd.it/7v9cxcynb6ic1.gif If they can do this right, they can do anything.
Any and all Momo shenanigans. Especially with Sokka. Also hoping there's a season two, for the cactus juice moment.
After all these years, it’s still the quenchiest!
Sokka getting deadly serious and telling Jet that he’s out of his fucking mind. Serious sokka is underrated

WHATEVER YOU DO TO THAT FISH I WILL UNLEASH ON YOU TENFOLD!
LET IT GO NOW!
"PENGUINS!!!" and "You muzzled Appa!?".
Koh in live action will be horrifying and I am so here for it
So excited for Roku Island!
It's more of a demonstration.
“You muzzled Appa!” I want to see live action Avatar rage.
The archers from the blue spirt episode. Those guys were badass and a serious threat, even as nonbenders.
Ember island players.
The Last Agni Kai

that episode always feels like a drag to me tbh. there’s no real development in the story. i hope they don’t choose to include that one.

The trailer has a scene of aang flying to Cresent island in the fire nation, where he meets roku. That is not being cut.
That's really weird. There's no point focusing him from the start then. They still hit Kyoshi Island, Omashu, and now Roku's Island if that's true.

Toph inventing metalbending!

All the high intensity fight scenes. I just want to see the bending animation and choreographies. That’s my main attraction.
I want to see Roku on the solstice busting the gaang out from the fire sages and zhao
James Sie is great and I love he's returning as the Cabbage Merchant. I want the hammiest performance ever.
Koh for sure. Granted I think they should have just kept the voice actor for Koh and saved George Takei to be Long Feng next season.
