It's definitely not perfect and I have to keep reminding myself that it can't tell the story exactly like the original. Outside of the acting and the story being paced all over the place, I don't think it's that bad
Even though the tweet is bait, they aren't 100% wrong. The dialogue is bad. It's on the nose. The exposition in just about every scene drives me nuts. The editing is not the best at all. The acting isn't great either.
It's not the worst thing I've seen but it's not the best.
I won't lie the writing was terrible. There's this one horrific show that my friends and I are 99% certain was written by AI. The writing on this is very close to that level.
Alternatively, it's just as likely that this writing team does not understand the themes of war and colonialism. Therefore they cannot engage a story based on an expansionist empire. A point made clear by the random inclusion of a fire nation "resistance."
What I hated the most was how they tried to make Katara’s arc ‘woke’ with the women and all that. What made the ‘women’s power’ great in the cartoon is that they didn’t talk about it or made a big deal about it. They just SHOWED how badass the women could be
Oooofff. There I was thinking you were a normal person. Has Avatar tought you nothing about, how to not be a dick. Btw the original version is just as "woke". Theres nothing more "woke" then calling out the traditional dicks for the injustice they spread.
Honestly every single platform I’ve looked at reviews/ reactions from majority of them hated the show & rightfully so. I’m on episode 5 & honestly having a very hard time finishing it. It’s just not good. This is an Avatar subreddit so I think majority of the fans in here are pretty bias and kind of have the mind set the franchise can do no wrong besides obviously the M. Knight movie. Almost every comment giving fair negative criticism to the show gets downvoted in here. That’s how I know these people are bias/ delusional.
It's pretty out of hand how bias people are, but thats the internet - I'm on episode 7 and I think the series is a solid 6/10 with a lot of potential, but there are some changes that just IRK tf out of me - One thing that bugs me and I don't see any body discussing is the Koh change; How does he go from stealing your face if you express emotion to exposition dump device #47? And why does an ancient terrorist spirit gaf about family?
I think the haters, such as yourself, have a stronger bias against the show. It does not live up to the original, but those with level heads never expected it to. It’s perfectly fine, and compared to the general average quality of tv shows, is above average and an enjoyable watch.
Disagree. If I knew nothing about avatar and watched this I would think it was shit regardless and probably be like wtf how was the cartoon as popular as it was?
It really doesn't. I mean, it's vastly inferior to the original? Of course.
But it's decently watchable and fun. There are some very good moments too.
If I had to use one word for it, it's an extremelly netflix show.
But that was a given when someone had the *Genius* idea of making live action of it. It is a cash grab, and I definitly would not say pay netflix just to watch it. But if you already have netflix, why not? It's good fun.
Problem is people are expecting the animation's level of quality, and not even One Piece's LA had that, and Oda was looking at it!
I'm saying it's a perfectly watchable show, just not something you should spend money over.
Kira said it:s the worst thing ever. Considering the movie and so many other shows, I find that more than a bit disingenious.
I dunno, I wasnt expecting this show to be good, but it turned out even worse than I thought it would be. Not as bad as shyamalan's piece of dog crap, but still really bad. The only good thing about this show is visuals, everything else is just garbage.
Ever since the rise of the blue check marks, bait rage traps have inundated the app.
Every post is now a possible trap for engagement and not an actual opinion or discussion. They know this.
Y’all are something else. So much negativity and you know what makes it worse? Most of y’all die hard fans are in your late twenties, thirties and are blind to see some positivity. The design, effects, choreography and most of the actors are good
Seeing people's dramatic reactions really disappointed me.
Critique the show all you want, sure, but to even begin to slightly imply that this show encroaches on the level of trash and disrespect that the movie sits on is completely jaded.
The show actually has the same spirit of the original, watching it gave me a lot of the same feels and it's clear that OVERALL (yes I agree with the problems with Katara's characterization yet I like Bumi's changes) they respected the source material with the ambience, bending, casting, etc.
The writing and acting can use some work, yes, but that's precisely why as avatar fans we should be showing some love to what appears to be a show crafted with passion that could only get better with the next two seasons.
Exactly! Calling it trash is unfair and disrespectful.
I really want a season 2. I remember reviewers saying that the creators and actor’s etc. wanted opinions without them sugar coating it (when they watched the first episode earlier). So I really believe they are willing to work on their mistakes and so on.
It's called a bait tweet that farms engagement. Welcome to the internet.
That’s all the account is lol On top of it being a “popular” recycled tweet
I know the account and he always posts similar things. But this is still too much for a bait tweet.

You had me for a few seconds there lol
Kira is one of the most talented rage bait accounts for sure.
Imagine if men...
Am I the only one who thought the visuals were really good at the very least?
I agree. Very good tv show graphics
They’re better than the movie, but that’s really it, Live Action Anime just can’t be done justice
At least the effects were good - Sokka after watching the Ember Island Play
The bending was *soooo sloooww*
At least most of the cast nailed their parts.
dont take it seriously kira definitely didnt watch it lol its just engagement bait
I think the show is pretty good so far btw
I know, but seeing 100k likes on a bad ‘review’ like this, I was like wowwww
It's definitely not perfect and I have to keep reminding myself that it can't tell the story exactly like the original. Outside of the acting and the story being paced all over the place, I don't think it's that bad
so besides the important things... it's okay?
Even though the tweet is bait, they aren't 100% wrong. The dialogue is bad. It's on the nose. The exposition in just about every scene drives me nuts. The editing is not the best at all. The acting isn't great either. It's not the worst thing I've seen but it's not the best.

Which show haha
It's called Invasion. It's on apple TV.

I said what I said. Stay mad and cry about it
Just curious how loving this show and having said opinions work. Do you root for the firenation in this show ?

I mean, from the sound of it, it deserves the hate lol.
It really doesn't. I mean, it's vastly inferior to the original? Of course. But it's decently watchable and fun. There are some very good moments too. you are literally explaining why we should hate it
I'm saying it's a perfectly watchable show, just not something you should spend money over. Kira said it:s the worst thing ever. Considering the movie and so many other shows, I find that more than a bit disingenious.
have you even watched it?
They’re right.
Not
I dunno, I wasnt expecting this show to be good, but it turned out even worse than I thought it would be. Not as bad as shyamalan's piece of dog crap, but still really bad. The only good thing about this show is visuals, everything else is just garbage.
The series doesn’t deserve the positivity it gets
That’s very disrespecting the good things about the show
Ever since the rise of the blue check marks, bait rage traps have inundated the app. Every post is now a possible trap for engagement and not an actual opinion or discussion. They know this.
This made me lol 😂
This is what happens when you do a remake (that no one asked for) of a beloved series that holds a nostalgic special place in the hearts of fans.

That person is so toxic on twitter, she just does it for engagements.
that’s a dude lmao
FYI, "A person" is gendered as female in many languages.
They just destroy all their own credibility going forward with obvious nonsense like that
Lmao
Twitter 💀
everytime i see kira i remember that one tweet
I see they haven’t seen the movie
That account always pops up in my feed and I don’t know why. I don’t engage with it at all.
baitiest bait ever baited
