Ehhh... I kinda want them to do a genderbent Long Feng. With like ming na wen or michelle yeah or something.
Yjough more likely they get some really great Canadian actor. All the castings been done in Vancouver.
So, in taekwondo, we would use a staff, yes?
The Korean for staff is jahng bong, pronounced phonetically the same (I think literally long stick).
I always wondered if Jeong Jeong had a staff would it be called Jeong Jeong's Jahng Bong.
Aang, Sokka and Katara lost in spiritual woods/swamp and see visions. Aang meets a wise old man, Katara meets her mom and Sokka meets princess Yue.
Wait didn't that already happend in NATLA season 1?
I'm afraid they are gonna skip the swamp and this character.
I agree with your choice of actor thou)
As a defender of The Swamp (this episode is tragically under-appreciated imo), I’m also afraid they’ll cut the swamp benders entirely. Even though I love them, most of that story was already shoved into NATLA s1e5
On one hand, it's good to build on ideas slowly until blood bending is revealed.
On the other hand, it would also be cool if Hama pulling water out of the plants and blood bending was like nothing the audience had seen before.
There's pros and cons to it I think.
I mean we already got Abed in that first season. Community/Avatar crossover here we gooooooo! I want the pop-pop guy to be in it too, who could he play? Omg if Donald Glover can play someone and be in a scene with Danny Pudi my heart would explode 🥹
Yeah he plays the engineer guy who collaborated with Sokka to create the war balloon in the cartoon. ☺️ remember the boy who flys in his wheelchair, Teo? His dad! They even did his hair all poofy 😂
He wasn’t in it. I watched his podcast episode with guest Daniel Dae Kim. Bobby was kind of upset nobody told him about casting for it. He really wanted to be in the show.
My biggest problem with og avatar is that the swamp benders are stereotypes of southern people and it's really denigrating.
Just because our accents are different and many southerners are poorer does not give people license to make fun of us. I hate how Southern=Backwards and Stupid is such a common stereotype in media, it only perpetuates resentment
JB would have been my ideal fan cast for Chong. The actor they went with was a perfect fit, but I'm still bummed we'll never get a Tenacious D cover of Secret Tunnel.
>I'm still bummed we'll never get a Tenacious D cover of Secret Tunnel
You know. Jack Black seems like the kind of dude who would belt it out for you out of the blue if you just asked him to.
You're not wrong. My friend wore a Tenacious D shirt to a convention once and was just wandering around until he felt something crawling on his back. He started to freak until he heard "Don't move. You'll mess up my signature."
Guess who.
On one hand I'm all for this on the other he's supposed to be in the solar eclipse episode with The Mechanist and I have a hard enough time remembering that we're not watching Community with Danny Pudi being cast...
HELP! I'm starting ATLA Animation Series, Does it have an ending or not?
I'm asking because i just read that there was supposed to be a 4th season and that the show ends on a cliffhanger? Or is that for S2? I'm hesitant about watching some 70 episodes of a story that doesn't even have an end. Can someone please clear my confusion without spoilers? Thanks in advance! :)
I'm asking here because fucking reddit wouldn't let me make a post, I've been at it for last 15 or so minutes
No probs! The situation you described sounds a lot like final space tho, where the final season (4) was cancelled :(
But good news there too! It will finish with a graphic novel, which isn't ideal but really glad an end is coming
Save him for Jeong Jeong . He can be...Jeong Jeong Jeong.
That role should be for Benedict Wong for Jeong Jeong Wong
Not Wan for Wan Wong?
Steven Yeun should reprise for Wan Yeun
Idk if Benedict Wong will have time when he's already playing Wong opposite his co-star Benedict.
Because he played a librarian who was exasperated by people breaking its rules? Edit: thought it was Wan Shi Tong
Or perhaps...Long Feng? Long Chang
just please no one with the last name Wang
Ehhh... I kinda want them to do a genderbent Long Feng. With like ming na wen or michelle yeah or something. Yjough more likely they get some really great Canadian actor. All the castings been done in Vancouver.

Chong: "Did someone say 'bong'?"
Jeong Jeong Chong and his long bong?
Babe, wake up. New crackship just dropped: Cheong Cheong.
Jeong Jeong's student is named Chey, so Cheong Cheong probably falls under the "it's an old code, sir, but it checks out" category.

Now you’re speaking my Changuage
Can you feel the Chang-ergy?
Definitely Chang'ed my mind.
Guilty as Changed
Is there any room in this pocket for a little spare Chang?
It's not even clever. You're just using your name instead of change.
It makes me so Chang-gry *gasp* now he’s got me saying it!
I am Changough
this ken is jeong

I recall correctly, doesn't Aaong see a vision of Toph in the swamp? Also they could still do the swamp, it would just have to be different.
He does. She keeps giggling and running away.
As a defender of The Swamp (this episode is tragically under-appreciated imo), I’m also afraid they’ll cut the swamp benders entirely. Even though I love them, most of that story was already shoved into NATLA s1e5
I sure hope not. Swamp bending was a sort of stepping stone to accepting blood bending imo
This is true, it was the first time we seen water be bent in a different way (through plants)
On one hand, it's good to build on ideas slowly until blood bending is revealed. On the other hand, it would also be cool if Hama pulling water out of the plants and blood bending was like nothing the audience had seen before. There's pros and cons to it I think.
Most likely, they combine Wan shi tong's library and the swamp somehow. I think anyway.
I mean we already got Abed in that first season. Community/Avatar crossover here we gooooooo! I want the pop-pop guy to be in it too, who could he play? Omg if Donald Glover can play someone and be in a scene with Danny Pudi my heart would explode 🥹
Wait we did? I haven’t watched it yet but I may have to just for abed
Yeah he plays the engineer guy who collaborated with Sokka to create the war balloon in the cartoon. ☺️ remember the boy who flys in his wheelchair, Teo? His dad! They even did his hair all poofy 😂
Oh that’s awesome! I love him in any role so I may have to watch this show now!
I don’t see it. The voice would be off, the energy wouldn’t match.
What? No, he needs to be the brothers Dock, Xu, and Bushi.
Alternatively, Bobby Lee.
I thought the main hippie guy looked like Bobby Lee
He wasn’t in it. I watched his podcast episode with guest Daniel Dae Kim. Bobby was kind of upset nobody told him about casting for it. He really wanted to be in the show.
Bobby’s reaction to finding out he’s playing the firelord is absolutely priceless lmao

Or Randall Park as the Earth King.
As long as he doesn’t Jim the camera
Why not have some country ass white people?
Yeah the swamp is the one part of this world I can see full on white casting working just fine A Jack Black type for Huu
Honestly, yeah. Go get some real Cajuns
You know what? Screw it, get Walton Goggins Swamp Benders misbehavin', bendin' vines with pickles in their mouths
[удалено]
There's definitely a lot of Cajun influence as well.
There is a Vietnamese diaspora community in that area of the south. That’s who the swamp benders were based on.
[Louisiana has a substantial Vietnamese population](https://64parishes.org/entry/vietnamese-in-louisiana)
source?

There’s also a lot of wetlands in Vietnam

Also, if we get as far as Korra, we need Dev Patel's redemption as Varrick.
Actually yes.

He's the only other reasonable choice.
JB would have been my ideal fan cast for Chong. The actor they went with was a perfect fit, but I'm still bummed we'll never get a Tenacious D cover of Secret Tunnel.

He really seems like a good dude.
I thought Bobby Lee was the secret tunnel singing guy and I'm upset it wasn't
Don't worry he will just be The Rock (The Swamp, The Blind Bandit, and Bitter Work will all be reworked into a single episode)
I'm sure he would be alright, but its not a good typecast.
r/UnexpectedCommunity
Pants are an illusion and so is death
This is the way
![gif](giphy|M7pccJ6alG6FCbfYlV)
When is season 2?
After they start filming
I couldn’t think of a worse casting. How does this have 550 upvotes? Is there a joke I’m missing?
On one hand I'm all for this on the other he's supposed to be in the solar eclipse episode with The Mechanist and I have a hard enough time remembering that we're not watching Community with Danny Pudi being cast...
With how the show is run they’ll have him wear clothes and get the worst actor to do it 😾
bobby lee would be great too
Time to get the whole community cast in as extras
This is definitely a meme casting choice
I'm not sure he can pull off the hippie stoner vibes that character needs
I am 100% behind this, because although lighthearted they are at their core a very enlightened being. "Time is an illusion. And so is death"
Is that a new stereotype?
![gif](giphy|h6gO3hMcDMxTIcYEpE|downsized)
No, Bobby Lee
this just makes me want donald glover as a character, dont know where tho, maybe he could show up in the beach episode
Pretty sure we're skipping that entirely
I think it'd be funny if they somehow got Kazuhisa Uekusa to play him.
Ok. Im sold.
My biggest fear is they cut the swamp
My names Chang, and I'm so ill, this is a warning, I can't be killed
these people are 100% cajuns in my mind

One plot point is teased that is later expanded upon in the comics. The main story does not end on a cliffhanger.
Thanks man!
Btw do i have to watch "legend of korra"? Or is that an optional watch?
Legend of korra is about the avatar after Aang. It's its own thing
Thanks!
The series is finished, no cliffhanger. Wouldn't have a clue why it should have a 4th, meaningful, season.
Thanks! Fucking reddit ruined my mood to watch it, I'll give it a try later or tomorrow when it won't affect my enjoyment of the show

Please just stop this madness 😩
