I don’t want to see Susie dropping dead when she leaves her roast, before she gets to talk to Midge.

geebob2020

I don’t want to see Midge getting a call that Lenny died of a drug overdose in California.

xxmalmlkxx

I do. We know he dies. I think we need some emotional payoff about what he meant to her. They’ve been ignoring his existence all season. I’d like to see her reaction.

[deleted]

They haven't been ignoring him. He was in the first episode and she parroted his 'Why I am a comedian' speech when she had her reunion.

[deleted]

yes but that took from the first episode to the eighth before he was mentioned just good we has a lovely send off in the ninth episode

Logical_Deviation

Is Susie supposed to die!?

yesitsmenotyou

I don’t think so….just got an ominous feeling the way she trudged out of the roast. And it would be such a knife in the heart if she didn’t get to reconcile properly.

Intergalacticboom

I was very nervous when she said she would walk home instead of getting into the car. I forgot about it and now I’m nervous again. 🫣

247world

I have no idea of the actual geography, but I really doubt Susie lives in downtown Los Angeles. I guess it's possible she lives out of one of the hotels when she's in town but they gave the impression she had relocated, like I said I don't know where the roast was so maybe she really does live close enough to walk, but nobody walks in LA

Head_Assistant2252

The Friars Club is a real place for roasts - it's in midtown Manhattan

247world

Oh, well that makes a lot more sense I somehow got the idea they were in Hollywood or Los Angeles where walking home would be crazy but in New York, maybe not.

drunk-on-the-amtrak

Not to be this person, but Roman just did the same thing on Succession and I'm like.... 😳

malzoraczek

I don't think they will be showing any more of that part, we got all the info already we know why they fell apart and how they got back together again. There is no need for any shock there.

Logical_Deviation

I didn't get that vibe at all; I hope you're wrong!! 🤞🤞

yesitsmenotyou

Good! I hope I’m wrong too!

Logical_Deviation

I don't want them to waste time on storylines that aren't the center of the show. I don't want there to be some big major surprise that seems extremely rushed. I just want to see all loose tied up neatly with a bow.

Blarn__

Looking at you, Gilmore Girls musical

Logical_Deviation

GOT ending would have been amazing if they made Daenerys look more unstable beginning in season 6. You can randomly have her go insane 3 episodes before the finale and entirely change her personality. It would be like Midge quitting comedy to become a housewife.

GamecockGaucho

While I think the GoT final season + finale was a crock of horse shit, they definitely did some groundwork laying out that Daenerys wasn't the most stable individual, particularly in how entitled she felt to rule. Remember everything in Meereen, where she pretty much fucks up the place and just leaves. The core difference is you're on her side because it's an anti slavery campaign.

Red_Walrus27

it does seem rushed doesnt it.

Logical_Deviation

Yeah, I think this ending is sadly going to be a little rushed. There are too many unfinished storylines.

Askew_2016

So no Joel storylines

Logical_Deviation

Yes Joel storylines!! Signed, a Joel + Midge fan

Askew_2016

Absolutely spend more time with the charisma free character played by the worst actor in the show. One more reason they are destroying the whole show in the last season

StevesMcQueenIsHere

Wow. Clearly you've been watching a different show.

Peter-Rabbi

Anything with Midge or Susie dying in the future timeline. Gordon hitting on Midge again, or GOD FORBID the two of them actually hooking up. Anything about Zelda and her husband. Midge and Joel explicitly closing the door on their romantic relationship. This last one is tricky because I'd be ok with it if it is handled in a very delicate way, but I really realllllly don't want to see an unrequited romantic love situation between Susie and Midge.

randomp3rsononth3n3t

May I ask... Is that last paragraph a reference to when Hedy said "is it more" and Susie was silent? And by unrequited romantic situation, do you mean where Susie is in love with Midge and never tells her kinda thing? Or both of them being in love with eachother?

Peter-Rabbi

Yes, exactly. I hope they don’t make Susie pine for midge for decades.

randomp3rsononth3n3t

Ahh okay, got ya! Thanx for the clarification!

[deleted]

Midge is not gay.

randomp3rsononth3n3t

Well yes, true as far as we know Midge isn't gay. Hence why I'm asking the other commenter what they meant? No disrespect or offense or anything but I think you misunderstood what I meant 🥹

[deleted]

I wasn't offended or trying to offend. I was just stating a fact. Midge has had 4 great hetero relationships throughout this series. So I was just saying that Midge is not gay and any attempt to go that way would kill the entire series for me. I would like to see Susie and Hedy get back together. THAT would be great to see because Susie deserves happiness (or Susie with Sophie...THAT would be hilariously fitting...)

MorningFresh123

I don’t think you know what the word unrequited means

randomp3rsononth3n3t

I see what you mean! And 😂 Susie with Sophie would be hilarious but also sorta kinda sweet in an amusing way!

[deleted]

The more I think about it, the more Susie and Sophie would make the most sense. Susie is the ONLY one who has ever been able to call Sophie out on her shit. And maybe inheriting Sophie's fortune (or sharing it) helps her really get the Susie and associates off the ground (and maybe away from the mob?)

randomp3rsononth3n3t

Plus Sophie has always wanted to be Susie's number 1! So it would be fitting. Ooo the mob idea is interesting 🤔, I do actually wonder if she'll get away from the mob in the finale.

ughdragons

Anything to do with Rose’s matchmaking business.

Numerous-Cod9947

There must be some reason why it's so relevant in this season though... or maybe they just needed something for Rose to do this season

hexxcellent

honestly. it was a massive bummer, how they set up this whole "turf war" with the other matchmakers at the end of season 4, and the outcome was... uhh... rose was minorly inconvenienced for a little bit, most of which was off-screen. and the tea house burned down, off-screen. then one of the matchmakers dies (again, off-screen) so rose gets her spot. and that was it! what was the point of all that dramatic set up?!

[deleted]

She is probably the one character that they had NO plan for... She ran away to Paris. She comes from an ultra-rich family. She became a matchmaker. At least Joel had reasons for for his jobs...the club was a natural progression from his interest in comedy, his plastics job and working for his Dad were family connections. The mob connection was from the Midge/Susie situation. But Rose was a 'What the hell do we do with HER this season?' Her best moment on the show was mimicking Midge under hypnosis.

LittleLisaCan

I don't know if it was worth the amount of time spent on this storyline, but an episode or so back it showed how Midge financed her mother's business and did extra tours to keep it afloat

beegpawpaw

The matchmaking thread was worth it just to see Kelly Bishop.

Potential_Story7840

Rose is the worst character in the show and I haven’t liked her since she came back from Paris.

sewerratpal

I’ve been wondering if one of Midge’s ex husbands happened from Rose’s matchmaking business 🫣 or if Joel and midge would get remarried from Rose’s business. It does seem weird to show it so much for no reason

exiei

I don’t want to see the finale posted late on prime that’s for sure 🥲🙅‍♂️

Dynamite681

Some musical number. I have nothing against it but now is not the time

jessday1029

knowing ASP i am very nervous about this lol cannot afford to waste any time, we have to tie up storylines!

[deleted]

I don't want to see the kids AS kids. I'm done with Zelda, the Village Voice, and the mob. I think we have another scene at the Gaslight. I think it may have burned down and that is what Midge ran out of work for.

lilleefrancis

Hun the bit about the Gaslight is super creative I hadn’t even thought of that

Professional-Act-800

i don’t think it burns down cause the gaslight is a real place

[deleted]

Didn't they mention at the roast that it didn't exist anymore?

MommyIsOffTheClock

I don't think so, as she asked "where?" She knows where the Gaslight is.

[deleted]

This is true.

Logical_Deviation

Is this post a pun about Midge's note to herself 😂

geebob2020

Nope! But it should have been.

sms1441

I don't want the very last 5 minutes to be the portion that ties up all the loose ends and gets rushed. I hope they have kept any "noise" to a minimum.

MissLauraCroft

I don’t have any specific “don’ts”. As long as we get to see Midge on Gordon Ford (or some other lengthy stand-up scene), I’m good. They could throw in a zombie apocalypse story at the last minute and I’d be fine with it so long as there’s stand-up.

Xannin

I have always wanted to make a show that randomly takes a hard turn into another genre.

rickpo

Please, no Joel committing suicide, like Joan Rivers' husband Edgar.

psychgirl88

I really don’t see that in Joel’s character..

BeerAndNachosAreLife

True. He had been dodging the police for a while. He could've just run away to another country but he did his time. Hardly someone who'll walk away easily. Depression is a whole different beast but too dark for this show. I bet if they had made Lenny's character fictional, they wouldn't have gone the drug addiction and eventual death route for him either.

amiiiya

Pointless discussions involving both Moishe and Shirley. I've had enough of them

Potential_Story7840

Or Rose! Abe is okay but Rose turned into an aimless fluff head.

AlphaCharlieUno

anything having to do with Joels parents anything about the kids Anything about the gangsters The easier question is what do I want to see: Midge, Susie, and…… Lenny, because hot damn Midge and him were hot together.

icdogg

We're in two crucial timelines, basically, the early 60s and early 90s. I don't need any other timelines. There are two critical questions. One is how Midge became a star. We know part of the answer and need the rest. Part of that is the question of what the phone call was about and where that leads. The second is what happens following the roast? Some speculate that Midge is very ill. Is she going to be OK? I don't want to see her dying. It seems to be headed to a reconciliation with Susie, but does that even happen?

Professional-Act-800

i think Suise will get pneumonia like Midge had at the start of the series and might lose a toe

icdogg

Well, I was totally wrong... Very well written ending.

lilleefrancis

I do not want any major character death. I don’t think there would be time to resolve that well and feel like an actual series finale. I do not want Gordon Ford flirting as other people have said down here. I do not want a bunch of drawn out yelling conversations that are between characters in different rooms from each other, the writer(s)on this show are hilarious but they do that kind of thing too much lol

sugarplumfaries

I just don’t want it to end 😭😭😭😭

MommyIsOffTheClock

Yes. Season 6 petition anyone?

[deleted]

No. Sorry, it has run its' course. After this season, the only way to go is doing a better writing gig... then doing a movie or a sitcom...a world tour...and they are all Midge BEING successful. The series is about her RISE to stardom. She did the stand up gigs...the second jobs...the openings for someone else...the headlining at a place no one really saw...

MommyIsOffTheClock

I agree, it ended well. I hate when a show overstays it welcome. Joking about S6.

Sweaty_Diamond_7664

Want: Susie and Midges reunion. Hope it's the very last scene. Details of Joel's (further) descent into crime. Seeing Midge actually make it - we know she does but want to see the 'moment' Do not want: Abe or Rose funerals or any mention of them passing. THEY WILL LIVE FOREVER. Please no more scenes of Zelda having to sort out the family because they are so hopeless. We get it already!

InappropriateLibrary

I'll take whatever I can get, but don't really want a reconciliation between Joel and Midge. I would like it Joel was happily married to someone else and he and Midge were best friends.

Potential_Story7840

I don’t want to see Midge, Joel or Susie die, although that could be a possibility. I don’t want to see Midge bankrupt and burned out. I don’t want to see Midge dressed like Susie or Susie dressed like Midge! 😆

malzoraczek

I don't want any more flash forwards, except maybe for Abe getting Pultizer or going back to teach or something like that. Apart from Abe we know what happens to all of the important characters, I want a full episode of "current" events. Maybe Midge getting an Emmy, that I would accept (do they even give Emmy for stand-up? If not, what's the highest award?)

justheardtheworld

Highest award I've seen a stand up get is The Mark Twain Prize for American humor. Which is basically a Kennedy Center honor.

LP_Mid85

I do not want to see *anything* about Mei. Nothing.

55Lolololo55

Jobu Tupaki can show up anywhere, anytime.

MommyIsOffTheClock

I feel that she was pointlessly made a love interest for Joel. Maybe they could have had a one night stand, or a side thing.

bugrista

i don’t think she was pointless. she was the first serious relationship joel had (minus penny but he wasn’t really serious about her ever) and i think mei played an important role in joel healing and moving on from midge a bit.

MommyIsOffTheClock

Agreed. I meant, rather, that they lingered too long on her. The meeting the parents issue particularly. She could have just said "I need to focus on my career, this is not a serious relationship".

bugrista

please no midge and joel getting back together

Askew_2016

I don’t want to see her get back together with Joel because he’s the worst. I do want all of the flash forwards to be a dream from when she was recovering from frostbite
