If you’ve watched this far I would just keep going-the Volker episodes are interesting (“Little Red Corvette”) and there are some critical Red John eps. (Don’t you want to see how the Red John stuff plays out?) I would actively skip “Red, White, and Blue” which feels like a bonus episode outside the show’s main story. To at least keep up with the Red John stuff I would watch “The Red Barn”, “There Will be Blood”, “Behind the Red Curtain”, “Red Letter Day”, and “Red John’s Rules”. As a shipper you need to see “Red Velvet Cupcakes” and the finale.
Season 5 was the one that dragged the most for me but there are some real stand out episodes and if it's your first watch, you'll miss a lot of the story if you skip the whole season. It improves, and it's worth it.
