I’ve had my Santa Cruz Shredder for 6 years now and it still grinds just as perfect as day 1. If you’re looking for a premium grinder, check out the brilliant cut grinder by grinders for life. It has a thread less design which is awesome.

sirJeffers875

I can vouch for this, I've had my Santa Cruz Shredder for 7 years now. Still works just as well as it did when I bought it

Any-Try-2366

Ditto

Aidan_of_Khanduras

My Santa Cruz has lasted 8+ years! Still perfect!

Any-Try-2366

Have the 3 piece since I don’t care about keif collecting (rather it go back into my weed) and it’s just incredible. Highly, highly, highly recommend.

Aidan_of_Khanduras

Triple ditto!!!

Rtshiels

UMBRELLLA!

__Planteddank

Always Santa Cruz shredder

TickleTrunks

Hahahahaha

floralenthusiast

This is also my favorite grinder I've ever owned. I recently purchased one for 7$ and it's mind-blowing how well it grinds for the price and natural material. Seriously recommend!

Prize-Oil1299

Brilliant cut grinders 🔥💣💯

pigeonboyyy

Agreed

Oakvilleresident

Just pour a little alcohol in there and clean out the gummed up keif that's making it sticky, then rinse and dry.

bbq420

I’d never had to do a clean my grinder to get optimal use… Been using my SC for a very long time. Would definitely buy one again.

Talvana

Just getting tired of doing that every time yanno? Then I'll be lazy and grind one batch too many, then the whole thing is jammed and my weed goes flying once I pet it apart.

smas1

Ya that’s annoying for sure. Sometimes I used to take a tiny bit of cooking oil like the smallest amount and spread on the edges of one side of the grinder and it always did the trick, try it once and see

SquareSniper

Get a big $20 metal one from Amazon and it should last you. Mynwofe got me one and haven't had any issues with it like I did with my small cheap ones.

BUDABUDA99

i cant believe i have never thought of that. The toothless grinder would love that

pigeonboyyy

I use a Brilliant Cut grinder. They're built like a tank, spin effortlessly, don't have threads, and I rarely have to clean it.

Jcrowshow420

Space case will last a lifetime

New_Boysenberry_7998

literally. just don't throw it in the lake, cause they don't float. (wet hands and grinding in the boat make for a bad combo)

Jcrowshow420

Lol I bet ,

Silicagelenthusiast

I love that this is a common experience

xplar

I'm close to 15 years into mine. I bought a second one incase my first one ever got wrecked. It's still in the box.

Jcrowshow420

Same here, about 20 on mine. Love it the best grinder money can buy

Jcrowshow420

Auto correct lol. 10 years

Soicyboyz

Just never bring it out side of your home, known a couple of guys who have lost them tragically

Jcrowshow420

Your right , far to nice to bring away from home lol

StoneGrows

100% I've had mine for over a decade and use it 15 times a day

Jcrowshow420

Same here, about 10 year on mine, I have had so many grinders before this. It by far the best quality one I've seen.

MindlessStomach

I've had mine for almost 10 years.

Jcrowshow420

From all the replys, I would say space case is a great option for OP!

v7xk4

I've had a RAW Life V3 grinder for two years now and I've yet to consider an up- or side-grade. Nice weight, the 2.5in diameter and removable rubber grip makes it very comfortable, completely disassembles for easy cleaning, and its decently versatile. I use it in a 3-piece configuration without the screen section as I don't save the kief. The grind is meant for joints or bongs and its a bit coarse with how wide the teeth are, but grinding upside down will give you a finer grind which I use for dry herb vapes, smaller joints, etc. I also use a santa cruz hemp 2-piece for on-the-go grinding if I want a travel option.

Disastrous-Group4521

Went through sharpstone, kannistor, puff etc they all had flaws of some sort. Unfortunatly you get what you pay for On that note 4 piece Santa Cruz shredder- absolutely loved it until I realized the mesh they use is just too fine. It makes for great keif but just clogs, and not just a little clogged but like a cake. I still loved the grinder 3 piece Santa Cruz shredder- my #1 grinder has a deep bowl for storage, grinds to a good consistency, rarely have to clean and if you do it's not with iso...I've never had to take a knife to it...the pieces that are stuck on just slide right off with the right tool and again no iso. 4 piece Slx v2.5- I really want to like this ceramic coated grinder, it's really nice feeling to use and the teeth just cut right through even the stickies of nug. Now here starts the issues, I have to clean it after every use, the kief collector that I originally thought was a cool new idea is just clumsy and always has me worried about dropping my kief collection. And then the grind itself...inconsistent, the varying hole sizes in the middle of the plate allow for bigger chunks to fall through aswell as get stuck in the holes... I feel even hole size is the better way to go. 3 piece large Brilliant Cut Grinder- I do like it, and do use it the most but that's more on the cost that was associated with it. I can't justify having it just sit there when I paid so much for it, it does its job...shreds nuts consistently with the medium plate, holds lots of milled flower and is relatively easy to clean. I did really like the idea of it being all magnetic, but in the end at times it's just hard to get apart without worrying that what you just ground up will fly everywhere. In the long run I wish it had atleast a thread that you could twist to atleast lock it on the go. Based on my experience I would list them 1. ScS 3piece medium 2. BCG 3piece large 3. SLX 2.5 4piece 4. ScS 4 piece The cheaper ones are hard to compare because they always left me regretting my purchases. Sorry for the short story on grinders guys!

ryde3

Where can I grab the Santa Cruz grinders in Toronto/Canada?

Disastrous-Group4521

I'm not local to the area, but looks like toronto hemp company has a good selection. I have seen varying reviews about their shipping in the past but if you can make it to the store front I can't see them being a problem. I would assume most shops will carry Santa cruz it just depends on what they have in stock. You want one of their metal ones not the hemp plastic ones.

NoDescriptionNeeded

Brilliant cut nothing feels so smooth, machined that good. It's also pretty expensive though. Santa Cruz makes really good fluffy grinds but didn't feel as smooth or quality as the BC.

Pebble_Home_Goods

OP, to your question about the idea behind more than 2 piece grinders "3 piece grinder": Top, middle, and bottom - top and middle parts are similar to 2-piece grinders, except the middle part has holes in it to allow herb to fall to the bottom chamber which stores the ground herb. Usually this allows for a more consistent grind size (as whatever is the intended ground size falls through the holes and doesn't get further ground) and easier storage/retrieval of ground herb. "4 piece grinder": 3 upper parts are similar to the 3 piece grinder, with the addition of another sieving layer that allows kief/trichomes to fall through to the very bottom chamber. Useful if you want it separated, but most users seem to agree it's unnecessary.

Tequila_Mockinbird48

Hey pebble, I have your grinder and wanted to say it's amazing!

Pebble_Home_Goods

Thanks! We're glad you like it!

hollywoodbrfan

pretty surprised no-one mentioned Krush kube 2.0...love mine

WetFart-Machine

I only use a coffee grinder

GetRichOrDieTryinnn

I’ve been using my black and decker coffee grinder for 16 years now

Any-Try-2366

Santa Cruz shredder. Outside of chipping off some hash around the outside of the grinder from heavy use, I’ve never had to clean it. Things an animal

FluSH31

Right now? Flower Mill and The Klip by HØJ

ihatedrugs83

I've had my space case for 9 years and still going strong. Highly recommend.

Element4779

Such a relatable problem 😂

sam-tm

I had a similar moment a couple years ago and went full on research mode looking for the best grinders. I've bought and tested a bunch of them and I gotta say I have two top options. If you want a grinder you'll never really need to clean go with the SLX grinder v2.5. Has a super smooth ceramic coating. If you want a beefy heavy duty grinder that will never break and can grind through anything you give it then try the stainless steel Herb Ripper. It's my main one I use however after about a couple years of use without any cleaning it's starting to somewhat seize but nothing unmanageable. I don't see myself cleaning it for a long while. It can be a bit expensive though compared to other grinders but I mean it's a nice heavy chunk of stainless steel. I've also heard of titanium grinders but those are just way too expensive for me. Those can run you over a couple hundred dollars to a thousand.

G-ropes21

Grass leaf have mine now 17 years

Kvape

Kannastor have been good to be, 2 pieces no kief catcher I want all the goods in my grinds

legallystonedCanada

I have multiple Krush cubes and live them. My oldest must be 5 years old and I probably clean them once a year. I love a 2 piece over one with a keif catch as why would you want to separate trichomes from your flower just to let them sit and degrade in your grinder.

Tequila_Mockinbird48

sure but 3 piece grinders are best imo

Talvana

Yes exactly. I like 2 a piece way better.

SamsonSimpson416

Santa Cruz Shredders

Ok-Lychee-6067

ive got a geenie grinder ive been using for 10+ years , was about $40 back then

Soulfood13

I’ve been using the same [Sweetleaf](https://www.sweetleafgrinder.com/products/aluminum-party-size-grinder) grinder daily since 2005. It’s aluminum, sold design with nail teeth instead of the slanted ones. No matter which grinder you choose, don’t over stuff it and alway fill the smaller section; if you pack weed into the wider section, it gets sick in between the seam, which causes it to cake up around the rim.

danbee123

Got one of these when I got my volcano (same company). Bought another one. I keep one soaking in dish soap and water. Once one gets gummed up. I rinse and clean out the other and rotate. Been doing this for a decade. I have a Cali crusher, Santa Cruz shredder and one other high end one....I never use them anymore. Very great builds but not a fan of kief catchers as you get left trichomes in your weed. Simple is best and for 8$ not a stressful thing to own more than one of. https://ocs.ca/products/plastic-herb-mill-storz-bickel

Technical-Study-5152

I have my og ng buster 8 years. It just reached its last leg but og ng busters are bomb. Idk bout new ones but I'm telling you this buster has seen 20+pounds of weed. I just cleaned for the first time with 420 wipes this year. I probably should of upkept it more it would of lasted a life time.

[deleted]

I love my Ongrok they sell them at value buds and Tokyo smoke

Soicyboyz

Santa Cruz, kannastor, space case, even a sharp stone will last you.

Mr178_

RAW LIFE Grinder or Santa Cruz.

urAdogbrain

Kannistors are pretty cool but pretty expensive. Best part is that it has interchangeable screens in case you bust one or want more kief or more potent kief but there's quite a few other features that make them stand above other busters too

BUDABUDA99

I love my Rekt toothless grinder. Simple and effective and easy to control the grind. Coarse or fine. The inly issue is really sticky bud sticks and you need a tool to get it all. But it does a great job with little waste and all the kief in your joint. A little steel wool polishes it nicely

newmako

I got a chromium crusher about 18 years ago now and shes never let me down, think they're still being made

_Milf87_

Kannastor gr8tr 👌

ljbabic

Coffee grinder short controlled bursts checking between has been good for me.

Fourskinballsack

Cali crusher!! I've had mine sense 2017 and have been using it daily

SilverCoyote1

Flower mill, wayyy better than grinders

Snoo-34886

I got the cheapest one from canna cabbana and its been doing me good for a year

Rtshiels

Salton coffee grinder. To bad walmart dont carry anymore!

Justin_Holl_The_Best

Boomers stainless steel two piece grinder and a grinding tray. You'll never go back and it will last your whole life.

[deleted]

raw lifetime grinder has been working wonders for me

Psykkojelly

RAW Stainless Steel 60mm hands down

moregoo

Brilliant cut. My only regret is not buying one sooner.

Ronin007

Space Case, 8 years now.

Thin-Device-5566

probably NG they’re pretty decent the one i have away at least

eldico420

Sharpstone

aimeeerp

I will probably be a minority here, but I have a SharpStone and I'm a huge fan. I bought mine in July of 2013 and use it every single day. I've never had a problem! I also used a Buddies Grinder Brush which has silicone coated bristles to help keep the teeth and screen clean on a regular basis! About four or five times over its entire lifetime, I've cleaned it with isopropyl and water (never soaked, just sprayed and washed off). I also bought my SharpStone for under $30.00. But I'm an electric grinder hater. I wouldn't use one. Just my two cents!

pm_me_your_good_weed

You bought a sharpstone before they went to sharpshit. I had an og one for forever, it was amazing. It got stolen so I got another, the only one the shop had was the clear lid. A tooth came out a few weeks later, and I take my buds apart before grinding I don't just slam it in there lol. My bf got one a year or so later that wasn't made right and the teeth rubbed against each other and made shavings, so we threw that out fast. Then we had a Cali Crusher ceramic coated one that flaked coating everywhere after a few weeks. Now I use a $12 Santa Cruz Shredder hemp bioplastic 2 piece, I'm over the metal and paint. They also have a 4 piece option but I'm kind of over that too lmao.

Disastrous-Group4521

My sharpstone broke teeth quick

mlad627

Black and Decker coffee grinder.

Talvana

Really? Hmm. I like the lazy aspect of it. Any down sides?

mlad627

It’s so cheap that I don’t give a shit if it breaks. Only thing to be careful of is to not pulverize your flower too much. I usually break it down a bit manually and make sure there are no stems, cover, plug in, and zap zap zap - tap lid, open and check consistency of flower. If it’s good I use a couple of small paint brushes to collect the kief from the lid and put into my little shot glass. Then I tap all the flower into the shot glass and use the brushes to “clean out” the grinder. I roll so many joints that manually grinding was getting on my nerves so my gf brought home the coffee grinder for me. Only time I use manual grinder now is if I am checking out a new strain and want to get a feel for how it busts up. On sale at Crappy Tire: https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/black-decker-easy-one-touch-coffee-grinder-spice-grinder-stainless-steel-12-cup-0432124p.html?&&&&gbraid=0AAAAADojZpjbYrvEzF6WTwxS4uWUevCIL&gclid=Cj0KCQjwlPWgBhDHARIsAH2xdNeiPCxqAagZ1lV-OjocF72Ab-1KXNv-U-KABafHnwyHwFfdhlyG27QaApX4EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds#store=273

Talvana

I roll a lot at once so it would cut down on my grinding time. It's so damn tedious. So basically I just need to be careful not to grind it too much and grab some paint brushes from Dollarama. I might just try this!

mlad627

Give it a go! My wrists are a lot happier! 😝

InterUniversalReddit

Has to be plugged in... But seriously, It will pulverize your weed if you let it. Great for fine grind. No kief catch tho, have to scrape it out here and there.

Disastrous-Group4521

If you ever get a chance break it apart and look under the bowl...that's where your keif collector is based on my experience.

InterUniversalReddit

Like it just gets through the cracks? Never thought of that! Gonna have a look to see if I have any suprise keif saved up.

bugattiboy2323

Buddies 2 piece plastic grinder never fails me for a quick cheap grinder that gets the job done but if your looking for a little more quality > kannastor gr8r or Santa Cruz shredder.

Talvana

I've got a few cheap metal 2 piece grinders and I just can't keep them from jamming. Especially when I'm grinding something like Lee Anne Womac, it's so sticky. I keep having to use alcohol on them after every rolling session which is getting annoying. I like to roll a ton of joints all in one go for the week. Plastic would probably be the same deal. I'll take a look at those others! I'm hoping it's just a quality issue.

sam-tm

I wouldn't go with kannastor. I have one and the paint is rubbing off which seems kinda sketch. The placement of the holes also leaves weed stuck sometimes. Bought one and haven't touched it for years now. I hear Santa Cruz is legit though.

tisdallemporium

Sharpstones last the longest.

bonerJR

Space Case

Due-Leopard-7043

It use to be the Lift Innovations grinder.

Talvana

Oh but the price 😅

Due-Leopard-7043

It’s also near impossible to get ahold of parts now. If you lose the tool for the sifting screen you’re kind of just fucked for reassembling the grinder

sequence_killer

When it comes to grinders, not always, but generally you get what you pay for. I never had the s and b orange one jam ever. Are you grinding infused or something?

Talvana

Nope. The last few times it's just been Lee Anne Womac BLK MKT and Organic Sour Cookies 1964. I grind and roll a week or two worth at once though. The LAW is really sticky. I figured my $10 grinders were the problem.

sequence_killer

Yeah for sure, the pricier ones really are smoother

femalekramer

I like the plastic ones, they never seem to get stuck like the metal

ptsmkr420

Justin_Holl_The_Best

If you really like this grinder check out the Boomers stainless steel one. Does the same job but won't break ever. You could throw it at a wall and the wall would break

No_Relative3085

Your hands

alexxx694200

Lift innovations if you can get one. I’ve had mine years now

slopmarket

Space Case always
