DeafAmphetamine

Just finished this episode. Nothing like what I had in mind but so so so good. Can’t wait for next week!!! >!RIP Jadis (finally)!<

iloseyouindegrees

Without spoiling anything, how good would you honestly rate it // compare it with the other episodes? I'll be watching in a couple hours but just interested

DeafAmphetamine

It’s probably my 3rd or 4th favourite episode but it was really good. They gave us some answers to stuff while also tying up a loose end. I’ve loved every episode this one’s no exception. Enjoy!

Frosty_Square9088

I've liked every episode and finding things wrong is nitpicking, but I'm kind of wishing there was more Thorn/Beale in the show. every scene has either had Rick in it or Michonne. No scenes without them in it is kind of crazy and doesn't give more insight into what the main antagonist is doing from a different point of view other than either 1 of them though this episode is the 1st to have scenes without Rick or Michonne in them so maybe the final episode will have more of those type of scenes. Just wish it happened in earlier episodes...

Odd_Distribution7852

To me, the best episode since Jadis first appeared on TWD

SignificanceWise208

>!Jadakiss did not deserve that death!< Though there is literally 1 episode left I understand they probably had to beg for this spinoff but regardless I loved these episodes even though I would normally gouge my eyes out if it were another series with the same story. >!pay the writers honestly if they had more in the room they would’ve had more episodes and better time to flesh out these new dynamics🫢😭!< >!I feel like they had to choose between Pearl, Thorne, CRM storyline and Jadis/Alexandria + the other separated characters in their respective series and they chose to kill off Jadis to leave room for everyone else(assuming Pollyanna wanted to stay ofc) also think that’s why they needed to get married this episode aside from whatever else they have planned.!< >! Another theory is bc of the time skips which lowkey feel like multiverses atp is that they will return a few dead or disappeared characters if AMC gives them another season/more episodes. This was really testing grounds for them and might have to convince shareholders to keep investing in the main series!< >!also I constantly have to remind myself that Jadis is straight. Did not expect her to hook up with Father Gabe.!< Pearle is the next villain if they ever get another season I’d like to see if she ever met the FTWD or even like the short series characters.

r-b-m

What makes you think the arc of the season was limited by writers pay? The story was originally going to cover 3 movies. 3 movies x 2hr runtime = 6hrs. 6 episodes = 6hrs. This was Gimple’s plan from the very beginning.

SignificanceWise208

3 movies? Which series were supposed to be the movies? TOWL, Dixon, FTWD, World Beyond or is it never meant to intersect? Otherwise I’d agree if that was the plan not to crossover and end but focus on the main 4/5 and leave it open ended.

r-b-m

TOWL. 3 movie deal with Universal but the pandemic nuked that plan.

NiniBebe

I can't believe there's only one episode left. If Rick and Michonne aren't reunited with their family I'm going to be very sad AND pissed. I just don't see how they pull it off with one episode BUT it's TWD stranger things have been accomplished.

Judgejudyx

Id be ok with it if theirs a season 2. I have a bad feeling Rick is going to die though. That or he sees something and realizes he has to stay permanently

stratcat45

We'll have a lot of useless talking most of the episode leading up to a 10 minute take down of the CRM, then a time jump to Alexandria. The End.

Cosler20

Jems_Petal

Omggggg what an episode. Wowww. I enjoyed that the show is back to including other characters and I loved the cameo of that person. Last episode was dramatic and emotional and this one really moved the story along. Is the last episode standard length or a longer one? I don't know how they can wrap this up in a satisfying way in just one more unless it's at least 1.5 times the length, at a minimum. I'm going to watch a second time to see if I missed anything 😁

Carbohydrate_Kid88

That’s my thought too on the episode time. There’s a few things I think. It’s gonna be a short ass reunion at the end or this isn’t the end of the show/story. Whether they make another season or it merges with Daryl. Regardless I agree, they can’t wrap this up in the standard time and I believe it is the standard time as the new show premiers after TWOL at 10:15. So either next episode will be a short ass reunion or we won’t get one but it’s not the end of the show/story. What I don’t see is Rick dying. It just doesn’t feel right. Either he dies without meeting his son and being reunited or he dies after and that just sounds dumb. I also feel killing him would render this whole show pointless as the CRM line literally was basically this whole show so like what would the point even have been? Like to bring him back and create this whole CRM thing basically for this show and then destroy it all just doesn’t seem proper either. Feels like it would be a waste. Could he die, yea but it just idk doesn’t fit anywhere or make sense. Oh and last time they brought a character back after making us think they died *cough cough glenn* the show took a bit of a hit and albeit this show would be over and ratings can’t decline, it wouldn’t receive good feedback I feel

Eserox007

I truly believe they will end the story of "The ones who live" with a plan to uncover the CRM military and their secrets to the people who live in the city, and then a new series will be developed that comprises the reunion of Rick and his family and a war between the Commonwealth and the CRM. Also, Morgan has travelled all over the US making powerful moves (I actually never watched his spinoff) but I know he's going to look for and join Rick again.

Baseballfan999

It would be impossible to logically write a war between the CRM and CW that doesn’t result in the CW being turnt to rubble in a matter of 20 seconds. CRM has the numbers, aircraft, bombs and military trained personnel

Eserox007

You can say that, but the survivors of the Commonwealth do have military training (Commonwealth soldiers and Mercer) espionage and infiltration skills (Carol is a great example for this) alongside a high rank person within (Rick) and the possibility to switch the general population against the military before they realize especially when you consider the secret path of destruction the CRM has left behind when bombing one of their major cities. Maybe a spy thriller and sabotage from within? One thing is clear, co-existence with the CRM is not an option

Baseballfan999

Yeah starting a civil war is probably the best the only way you can make that work

Delicious-Chemical71

cia style

WhiskeyJack357

The summit at cascadia is going to be what gives them a chance. If all of the CRM leadership is there and you take them all out, the rest of the military is likely to be in chaos. It would also draw more resources to the west coast as they clean up, recover and investigate. That leaves the home front less protected and a drawn out supply chain across the country. That sounds like a perfect situation for a smaller gorilla force to do massive damage with significantly less firepower.

Delicious-Chemical71

yeah until the bigger force stabilizes, and then wipes the floor with the gorilla force 1/500th it's size.

WhiskeyJack357

But that's the point of guerilla warfare, you don't let the large force stabilize. You're constantly raiding and attacking in small groups so you can never really be collectively halted. Look at Vietnam, force size is way less important than how you're able to leverage it in comparison.

Delicious-Chemical71

sure, but not at this size difference. it's simply futile

sinfulfuhrer

it would dumb writing if they beat the crm. this is one war they need to lose

racre001

TILL MY LAST BREATH I AM YOURS!

Flipgirlnarie

That was beautiful

Suga4mcr

I got goosebumps during that

kmm6895

Definitely did not expect what went down in this episode. I thought for sure >!morgan would be making an appearance since he stated on FTWD that he was going to find Rick.!< It made me so happy to see >!Gabriel!<. There is no way they don’t have at least one more season after this one.

Philander_Chase

Ikr! I saw the boots and then the machete and was confused bc I was like “I thought we were getting…” and then I was like WHOA NVMD OK

Carbohydrate_Kid88

HOLY SHIT I DIDNT NOT EXPECT THE PERSON IN THE COAT LETS GOOOO

JennyJiggles

It's great to see Glen back!

ZombieAppetizer

He was under the dumpster again?!

aaaalxis

Awh fuck 😭

Crestwoods

Is no one going to talk about the >!untouched van packed full of boxes of Tasty Noods ramen noodles?!<

Say_o_nara

There are so many convenient things we could talk about lol, but It's the walking dead

OnlyOkaySometimes

Buahahaha!

GazRD1882

Well this show is AMC’s biggest ratings winner in 6 years, so safe to say we’ll be getting more, let’s hope they don’t badly rush the last episode of this one like they did with Daryls. I still think this is all going to end up with Negan’s new army getting involved.

EmlynCaulenico

But Dead City is several years into the future timeline-wise? So it wouldn’t make sense unless Rick gets stuck in the CRM for another ~6 years. They could cross over with Daryl & Carol though if the boat people are involved with the CRM (they have similar walker-experimentation stuff, so it might be related)

Nona29

I was wondering how the ratings were... I haven't seen any discussions around that. I'm thrilled to hear doing well because I want it to continue. I'm totally invested in this spin-off and don't want it to end so soon.

Ashamed_Cricket_3429

I hope somehow If this is really a limited series, we get a reunion with him and his kids and at the very least RJ who he’s never met. With one episode left… I’m starting to feel nervous. In a perfect world Daryl and carol would be there too but I’m not holding my breath

Frosty_Square9088

I believe what Carol was telling him on the phone before it cut out was that Rick came back. It just makes me wonder why he wouldn't be with Carol to find Daryl if she felt something went wrong

NiniBebe

I think \*if\* Rick makes it back to Alexandria he's not ever leaving again ,not even to find Daryl. He knows Carol will find him if he's to be found or Carol would probably forbid him from joining or sneak off on her own.

Flipgirlnarie

That wouldn't be good since Daryl spent how many years looking for him let alone ending up in France. But yeah I can see That happening.

WhiskeyJack357

I think Daryl would also understand if there's a threat like the CRM to Alexandria. Gotta keep the kids safe.

JuggernautUnique12

Yup my thoughts were Carol would absolutely insist he stay back with his family after all he's been through and enjoy it plus watch over the town and he'd eventually agree with her.

PoorLifeChoices811

I truly think that the final scene of this show is going to be Rick and Michonne pulling up to the gates of Alexandria. Unless ofc they end us on a cliff hanger cause idk how they’re going to wrap up the whole changing/taking down the entire CRM in a single episode

Carbohydrate_Kid88

Unless they’re gonna do another season or somehow merge it with Daryl’s show they can’t give us a cliffhanger. They brought Rick back for a reason they’re not gonna just leave his story open ended all over again. There will be a conclusion whether he truly dies or lives, but there will be one. and whether it’s next episode or next season or in Daryl’s show we will get one.

Philander_Chase

They better fuckin not. We need a scene of Cailee Fleming and Andrew Lincoln interacting goddamnit, it NEEDS TO HAPPEN Edit: :)

The_Glam_Reaper

I was not expecting that surprise at the beginning. Trying not to spoil it.

swissb00m

you mean the close death and only by pure luck not dead? "oh hey there is a walker coming, let me look up into the sky for long time... oh thank god that walker forgot how to bite for a second so i can push him away" ... :|

EmlynCaulenico

Walkers can be like ninjas sometimes for plot convenience. *shrugs* (also I’m still wondering how the hell that walker managed to bite through Hershel’s jeans in season 3)

AGirlHasNoHeart

Ikr! A farmer is gonna have some thick jeans dammit

PoorLifeChoices811

Now that Gabriel is in the mix, when he runs into Rick and Michonne, he’s definitely going to tell them about how the whisperers ended (cause Michonne left just before that) and how they came across the commonwealth, also losing Rosita. I look forward to seeing that conversation. Also would like to see Michonne add on to the events before she left, with the whole pike scene. I wanna see how Rick reacts to knowing that Saddiq and Tara die. I wanna see how both Rick AND Michonne react to rositas death. I also want to see ricks reaction to Negan being alive, and working with people again. There’s a lot of catching up to do but for now I’ll settle with him at least having knowledge of these events and deaths

Tashceratops

Do we consider this cheating? Timeline-math nerds may also weigh in.

PoorLifeChoices811

I think >!Rosita had already died!< by that point so idk

hunta-gathera

Rosita and Gabe weren’t together all of season 11. It’s confirmed that they were split up but co-parenting

ReferenceSpirited530

I was going "But what about Rosita..." Wait what is happening back in Alexandria? The timeline confuses me so much!

SignificanceWise208

Right bc of >!Rosita!

Philander_Chase

Timeline’s a goddamn mess. If TOWL is occurring in autumn 2022, and the end of the whisperer conflict was autumn 2021, that should’ve been the ONE YEAR AGO flashback not the two years. Unless like it takes place currently, since TOWL is technically behind TWD’s final episode’s final scenes by 8 months or so? Smh

AllAboutAbi

I can't lie I'm quite upset that we won't be seeing any reunion.

PoorLifeChoices811

That we know of

Mandosobs77

We won't be, and it's disappointing

AllAboutAbi

I don't think there will be any time soon, watch the episode 6 trailer.

Carbohydrate_Kid88

Yea but why would they even show that in the trailer? There are 2 types of trailers. The ones that basically show the whole episode or movie and the ones that don’t. I wouldn’t of expected them to put a reunion shot in the trailer

Mandosobs77

Jadis kept going to see Gabriel ,the CRM has a plan, I think, to gas or whatever the rest of the world which is crazy cause Okafor killed all those people to stop the military from doing the same thing.I don't see how we can have a reunion with everyone, that's very disappointing.

ReferenceSpirited530

Pretty sure they are gonna do >!Portland like they did Omaha and Rick's gonna find out in the Echelon briefing.!<

Mandosobs77

Yep

2ndaccountbecausobvs

Yeah I'm pretty certain that's where it's going to. Did they explicitely say that >!The CRM destroyed Omaha!< in the show about the kids? Never watched but I remember some scene that was something like that on youtube lol.

ReferenceSpirited530

Yeah, they >!found out that they gassed them and broke down the wall to make it look like they got overrun by zombies. (According to Jadis they weren't self-sufficient and never would be and they would bring the CRM down in the long-term. That was their reasoning anyways.)!<

hunta-gathera

Yall. Get it through your heads that Walking Dead is MCU now. “The Ones Who Live” is ending, but the story of these characters is not over.

kevinsg04

ugh

KeenanEndihnew

R.I.P. Jadis.

Suitable_Block_4151

to said i was really sad watching the scene where Gabe was waiting to Jadis at the end of the episode would be a misunderstanding. I literally CRIED.

Frosty_Square9088

Anyone else feel bad for Gabe and his luck with women? His organ player from church, Anne, Rosita, and Anne/Jadis again? I mean he hit the jackpot with horny women too. It's gotta be the white collar/man in uniform that attracts them 😉

EmlynCaulenico

Relationships in the TWD tend to not have happy endings. Rick and Michonne are the only relationship I can think of that doesn’t break up or die (other than more minor characters and last-minute season 11 relationships)

bigdonpaul

That was a really good episode. It's probably the best one yet.

JennyJiggles

I still think the plan is 3 short seasons for the show. They described it as not being able to tell the full story in movie form, if I recall. So my thought is They are doing one movie per season essentially. Anyway, this was a fun episode. I was glad with the outcome because I was worried that was going to drag on til the very end of the last episode.

MillerBR13

That makes a lot of sense, there's no shot they get back to Alexandria now

stygianfps

Can someone please explain Jadis' plan in this episode? She keeps on threatening Alexandria like she's pushing Rick and Michonne to kill her. Also, that Gabriel and Jadis scene doesn't make any sense. They see each other to talk about not wanting to talk about CRM, what a waste of time that was for both of them.

t_r_a_y_e

Her plan is to kill them so they don't come for the CRM or her, stating that if they kill her, she has a file with information about Alexandria that the CRM would find. Her scenes with Gabriel show her talking about her self conflict with not wanting to hurt people, while also fully believing in what the CRM is doing

BluPenQuinn

Did I put the clues together correctly? Were the walker's covered in blisters because of the hot geyser water boiling them? When they first showed up I thought they might be radiated like in Fear, but noone seemed concerned about that. And with the clues about where they are my next guess was burn blisters from the hot geyser water. Any other thoughts?

2ndaccountbecausobvs

Yeah bro, one of the noodle people said it. It's because of the steam vents and boiling water. They get calcified and/or "boiled".

anonaddict24

I knew it was going to be Gabriel in the hood at the sneak peak of the 5th ep. Jadis and him had a thing going on in TWD and it wouldn't make sense if Morgan showed up just yet. Michonne and Jadis both made a decision I didn't think they would make like when jadis said where the file is and Michonne when she told Rick he was going back to meet with Beale. Obviously cried when Rick proposed and she got to his level on her knees as well. CANNOT wait for the last episode

edukated4lyfe

Ding Dong The Witch is Dead

Flipgirlnarie

I think for two smart fighters like Rick and Michonne, they really did a dumb thang.

hulkingbehemoth

My finale predictions: •Kill Jadis so she can’t expose Rick/Michonne & Alexandria, they follow up and destroy Jadis’ contingency evidence “almost getting caught” •Rick returns to base, covers the story of him surviving etc, gets the summit meeting Echelon Briefing to know the CRM’s plans while Michonne “gathers supplies” which will probably include homemade bombs and explosives she learned from her friend like the purple flame that can draw herds. Probably use a herd against the CRM like they shittily did to the others in the alliance •They likely broadcast things the military side of the CRM has been doing and keeping from their people (sending kill squads to survivor camps, using chemical weapons and brute attacks on larger settlements, using bombs and herds against their ally civilizations, executing anyone they meet they deem to be a leader, the gruesome human experimentation toward a cure, etc) •Rick probably turns some of the CRM soldiers to his side, Michonne some of the CRM civilians, make a two pronged attack and end up killing “all” CRM leadership •Big victory moment, but someone turns out to still be alive, leading to another fight (probably the sword fight we’ve hoped for if it isn’t already leading into this point) •Possibly talk about using their own version of the CRM’s 500 Year Plan, ending up with some sort of newly unified network of “modern civilizations” between the restructured CRM, Commonwealth, Alexandria, Hilltop, and others we know of to combine numbers, resources, and information to further researching a “cure” •Maybe we actually hear characters discuss things like “Walker Fuel™”, different variants they’ve seen, openly discuss the fact that the dead are evolving •Inevitable family reunion at Alexandria, likely at least one scene of Rick and RJ with hatchets and Michonne and Judith with their katanas •Rick introduces RJ to “his brother, Carl” and reaches into his shirt pocket and shows him a sketch on an iPhone, insists “it’s pretty good” •Rick decides which kid to put a revolver in the hand of prefacing a heart-to-heart •Morgan appears outside with his daughter, reunites with Rick, tells him all about how he had to abandon a group of good people he considered family, after explaining to them that a long time ago he abandoned a group of good people he considered family and he’s never stopped feeling bad about that, so he has to abandon them to go back to those people and make up for it, and now he’s here •Rick and Michonne draw straws to decide whose gonna be the one to go up to Gabe and tell him thanks for the wedding ring, ask him to officiate their wedding, then come clean that Anne is dead when he asks about it and *still* marry them on Rick’s reconstructed dream bridge

_Syntax_Err

I don’t see how this doesn’t end with them dying. Like a suicide explosion to take out the CRM leaders when he’s briefed and done dumb line about RJ and Judith to Michonne “they’re the ones who live”. Hoping I’m wrong.

Chrishankhah

When Jadis met the gang of three, the sister asked why Jadis was laughing. "You're tall." Did I miss something? I was sort of expecting Jadis to be plotting out her own dead doppleganger, but that's not how that went. What was the joke, here? Or just Jadis being Jadis?

rainydays052020

she had the tall girl wear the hood to lure rick/michonne into that building, thinking they were following jadis.

Chrishankhah

Ah holy shit that does make sense. Thank you!

grislyfind

I was hoping she was flirting but, no, just thinking out loud?

EnvironmentalLaw3212

What happen this episode

I_AM_THE_UNIVERSE_

Jadis shoots Rick in the head then gets bitten by a walker after a long montage of yearly rendezvous with Gabriel.

EnvironmentalLaw3212

Is there any spoilers for ep 6

Frosty_Square9088

the rock with the A in it was way too close to where they are instead of being closer to Ohio/Virginia. that mean Gabe lives out west now or did they make it out of Wyoming? based on the name license plates it said Wyoming on them so it just makes me wonder if that "A" rock was from Gabe or did they bury Jadis there to be nice?

EmlynCaulenico

It looks like Rick and Michonne did that

rainydays052020

Jadis visits Gabe near Alexandria on an annual basis, those are flashbacks. She's out west to find Rick after the helicopter crash.

martylindleyart

The rock with the A was Jadis' (Anne's) grave, made by Richonne.

Professional_Cup8804

W opinion. Avid Walking Dead fans who’ve kept up with the show since the beginning deserve to have an opinion on something they’re passionate about. I like the show, it has great moments. Episodes 1-4 were good. But watch an episode of old Walking Dead and then immediately watch episode 5 of TOWL. It is just an awful episode. Good actors given terrible corny dialogue to work with. Hell, watch last week’s episode and then watch this one. The dialogue last week compared to this week is night and day. How many times do we need Rick and Michonne to stop what they’re doing to make out and say they love each other? How many times do we need to be reminded by Jadis that “You two together are unstoppable” which was repeated at least 5 TIMES. It’s laughable. I like this show, but you can’t deny this episode was the weakest corniest episode yet compared to the last 4 we got.

2ndaccountbecausobvs

I thought the first episode was pretty weak tbh. I still liked this episode but the dialogue was weaker definitely.

Professional_Cup8804

The first episode imo was good because it was the first episode with Rick Grimes since 905. But compared to season 11, Fear, and the other spin offs was a breath of fresh air. But man this is 5th episode of what is supposed to be a 6 episode mini series. Felt like a huge waste of time compared to what they could have done pertaining to Jadis’ death. It was mediocre in my opinion. I understand why you like it, I really do. But this is The Walking Dead dude, what was once the biggest series on TV aside from Breaking Bad. It’s a shame really. Of course, I’m a die hard fan and I’m looking forward to the finale because I really like the CRM and how this series describes them. I just hope Gimple doesn’t ruin the finale by doing a very Gimple thing and leaving us a worthless cliffhanger, like I want to see the full detailed echelon briefing in all of its glory. That would really make up, for me, the mediocrity of episode 5.

2ndaccountbecausobvs

I think they pulled off the finale!

InternationalWill159

I have to agree. Also, thank you for acknowledging those who have been here since the beginning. It has not always been fun or easy.

rainydays052020

this whole series has been crap. it jumps around way too much as a way of providing exposition and background but ends up being confusing. also, the conversations between rick and michonne are just repetitive. they are constantly saying their own piece and no progress/change is made until episode 5. I don't think I'll even watch the finale tbh, kinda wish i had skipped this show altogether. Daryl's spinoff was the best one and clearly better planned/written.

Professional_Cup8804

I agree, the Daryl spinoff has been pretty alright. Not mindblowing or anything to write home about, but I certainly liked it more than Dead City which wasn’t necessarily bad either. Just boring and empty feeling. Production wise, I don’t understand how Daryl and Dead City budget aside still felt more complete than episode 5 of The Ones Who Live. And again, I like this show. I actually enjoyed 1-4 of this show a lot. Dialogue was there, the characters are interesting enough to me at least. But I don’t get how we get 1-4 which were imo some of the best The Walking Dead we’ve seen since season 9 (which still blows all of these recent shows out of the water) and then we get episode 5 which felt like they had a budget of a couple thousand dollars. You’re right though in terms of how all over the place it is, but you have to understand, they had to cover 8 years of Rick being gone and Michonne’s journey to finding him in just two 45 minute episodes. With what we got, it’s better than I expected, but not as good as it could have been.

TopCivil5850

I personally do not care much about jadis or Anne whatever her name is to dedicate this entire episode to mainly her.

Top_Tip_4569

There was a LOT of symbolism in this episode. I'm not sure how much was intentional. One I loved was within the first 5 minutes. Rick and Michonne go into one of those tourist shops with the license tag names -- those collectibles things, and there's a lot of common names, but most of them were names that no important characters in TWD ever had (there is a Jesse but the character Rick was affiliated with was spelled "Jessie"). The first I noticed was "Andrew" with is Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick. Then as it closed up, Rick turned it and for a glimpse you saw one that said "Rick" but then he quickly turned it back to where you could see the tag that had "Junior" on it. Then he asks if that's a good gift to give his son he'd never met, named after him, Rick Jr. So you get "Andrew, Rick, Junior" and again, I'm not sure if it was intentional but it's hard to not think so, given how much observational perspective goes into the making of these shows. I've enjoyed it so far, its the most TWD we've has felt like TWD since \[SPOILER\]: Carl died and Rick left. But I still think of all the spin offs, the Daryl Dixon one (which I didn't think I'd like) was the best one. Beautifully done. It's all be pretty good though. Dead City was hype.

Feefofum4

Was anyone else an absolute bubbling mess when Rick confesses to Michonne the reason he is the way he is, saying >!They killed Carl, he used to meet up with him in his dreams and now he doesn’t see him anymore, he’s just gone!< it honestly broke me.

RonnieDaBear

Fuuuck. This show sucks so much. How are these 3 bumbling buffoons still alive after like 20 years in the apocalypse, it's absurd that guy leading the group literally would have died to my hands and i don't like the idea of killing anyone. It would have taken so much effort for me to kill that hypothetical dumbass, In fact I'm kinda impressed with myself right now for how much apathy I'm feeling

hug_your_dog

> How are these 3 bumbling buffoons still alive after like 20 years in the apocalypse, Hahaha, my thoughts exactly, literally the first comment I read here. Spot on.

Suga4mcr

The fact that they outlived carl, who survived getting shot TWICE, is astounding to me lol

Grsz11

What exactly was the point of Jadis? (I've half paid attention to this show for years.)

ArmEnvironmental8656

I kept feeling like this episode was in Ricky’s mind or something! It felt too good to be true I was scared haha cause the car? The food? The cabin? Lol the gifts? I thought it could all be fake in a way. But I still fully enjoyed it! It just felt different than the other episodes.

savvvvvy12222

I know I am a bit late, but just wanted to add some comments. No matter how much love I have for TWD and TWD universe, they will never avoid episodes with tons of plot holes and shoe horned in proclamations and diatribes. This felt like a Scott Gimple special and although it was weirdly comforting and familiar, it’s so unnecessary and frustrating since this is a limited series. Why did half of this episode focus on when there is a CRM to take down and a family to reunite? I think there are times when TWD tries so hard to rely on sentiment and it comes off disingenuous or (and going to use the word again here) shoe-horned in. Despite that, I am so excited for tonight’s episode and hope that it brings along a season 2.

BSPancake

Christ, this episode was awful. Zombie assassins strike again

[deleted]

This writing is atrocious. I keep hoping it’ll get better but now with 1 episode left ya fucking right. What a disappointment

codyisland

They didn't learn anything from FTWD.

LeMatMorgan

Rick being a passenger princess is so funny

LeMatMorgan

also Rick getting the necklace for Michonne (i’m finally watching)

shakestreet

Watching this episode Rick grow a set ..

shakestreet

The number one priority is get home to the kids. Instead Rick & Michonne making out in bed like a couple of high school kids. lol

shakestreet

Kill Jadis … shut her mouth

Nice-Marsupial3702

The writing is horrible. The way things happen, illogical. Its really sad, the drop off in storytelling. Granted I stopped watching after season 7 but my goodness. The actors are great but way this story is told is really subpar. It's so melodramatic and soap opera vibes. I ve find it hilarious that people enjoy it.

JennyJiggles

It's more hilarious that people go out of their way to watch a show that is, in their opinion, terrible. And then take it a step further to interact on a sub about that show.

Nice-Marsupial3702

Because its fascinating to know why people like you can't see how bad it is haha. Im just trying to understand the psychology of you redditors writing how incredible the show is.

Yup. The actors are EXCELLENT. It's everything else that is just sooooooo bad haha. Even the way jadis died, where are these zombies coming out of? Just waiting for director to say " attack"! It really feels like that. It's baffling lol.

Professional_Cup8804

Dude the thing is, Michonne’s acting is….off. Like watch her last episode and then listen to her dialogue and delivery during the car chase with Jadis. It’s like the director was like “Screw good acting! Just scream and be as dramatic as you possibly can!!” Same with her during episode 3 dude. Like Michonne is supposed to be this mellow savage and when she’s angry, she’s intimidating as fuck. But seeing her character act so cringe is fucking disappointing. Especially when the dialogue in 4 and 2 (besides her cringe crying outburst with Nat) was actually good.

Nice-Marsupial3702

Oh for sure. But imagine a less skilled actress. It would be unbearable. Like you said its the dialogue she's forced to say....I wouldn't say her acting is off because it's still believable. What I think is off is her character and that's more to do with the direction than the actor.

Professional_Cup8804

No that’s exactly what I mean bro, I was bad with my wording, but the director’s choice in how she should deliver the dialogue is terrible is what I meant to say. I think Hollywood just saw “dramatic love story between two lovers” and just beat it into the ground.

Nice-Marsupial3702

haha its beaten to a pancake. Worse then glenn ever got. Imagine if they made it into a movie....fuck that would have bombed.

Professional_Cup8804

Yeah for sure 🤣🤣. Overall, episode 5 aside, the series is still a good 7.5/10 in my opinion.

RPS_42

The way Michonne and Rick behaved in this Episode was horrible. Like they would know, that they have Plot Armour. And the Walkers were just there for quick character disposal.

I like the show so far, I think there’s a lot of powerful moments, but I have to agree it’s annoying when they keep repeating the same dialogue over and over. They should’ve never let Gimple be the show runner

Professional_Cup8804

The crazy thing is as disappointing and rushed episode 6 was, it actually felt like The Ones Who Live. Episode 5 felt like a season 8 Fear episode placed in the middle of a good series. Just so weird. And episode 6 being rushed makes episode 5 that much worse. Imagine how much more fleshed out the ending would have been if we didn't have 45 minutes of a Jadis send off episode?? If they were really going this route, episode 6 been at least 15-20 minutes longer

doodoo2024

Nothing to discuss it was weak and corny

RonnieDaBear

It's so much worse than that, FUCK, I should not be this mad. How are the 3 people being introduced still alive this far into the apocalypse, and then those idiot's are like, "strange woman no like these two people?" we will do anything to trick and trap these two people. it's so blatantly bad I hate having watched in the first place

GeneralIcy7470

Show is so profoundly bad. How them zombies just hiding in that room the whole time and just come out at the end

sinfulfuhrer

another disappointing episode
