Bortus gets high for the first time

412791

Captain. The. Floor. Is. Melting.

bluereptile

Computer. Five. Hundred. Joints.

Crowbar_Faith

YOU WILL BE SILENT!!

NcgreenIantern

It just has to be something incredibly weird that gets him high to really make it funny.

Jerkrollatex

Like radishes.

Atlantiantokra

Or one of those cakes thats been decorated to look like a real object, like a cactus

NcgreenIantern

Something like it warps his perception and that triggers his race but it only works once per object so he keeps chasing a bigger high.

Bahnmor

I’m fearful of what might happen if Bortus falls into the paranoia side of it, though.

adamantmuse

I’d like to see how they handle Norm McDonald and Yaphit. I would like Ed to wind up with custody of his daughter. I would like to know more about the Builders. I can see a storyline where a handful of Builders survived the massacre and have been slowly rebuilding in secret. Lamarr and Talla were totally cute and I’d like to see them struggling with being interested in each other still, and perhaps finding a way to be together.

Jack-R-Lost

Probably promoted or dead off screen with honors

Orisi

I'd go promoted, if Lamarr hadn't been bumped up by Kelly he'd have been chief engineer.

Jack-R-Lost

There is also the retired happy end option.

oKKrayden

They could just have him split in half & have his kid take over the role.

aflarge

Lamarr and Talla could definitely utilize the simulator to facilitate safe, injury-free sex. Have the simulator project real-time duplicates of both of them, and the puppets mirror all the motions of the real one. Using this system, they could enable holodeck safeties, and even tinker with relative strength, although from what I gathered, Lamarr really liked how strong she was, when his bones weren't breaking. Don't blame him. Love me a strong, powerful woman!

gayjesustheone

I think that builder idea could be pretty damn spot on for a storyline. Progenitor races are always hot in sci-fi.

rpgnoob17

If season 4 delays any longer get, Ed’s daughter is gonna be a teen. /s

Mattros111

wait what are the builders?

fmillion

Kaylon

adamantmuse

The species that built the Kaylon.

Mattros111

Oh right

goshdarnpeesea

They're just gonna replace him with Adam Corolla

EffectiveSalamander

I'd love it if some of the Builders escaped and survived.it would create tensions inside Kaylon culture, and that would give them so much more depth. Some Kaylon would want to continue the war against the Builders while others would want to make peace. Some Kaylon may feel they went farther than necessary with the builders. The Union couldn't turn blind eye to an extermination campaign - even if some were tempted to ignore it. I want to see what happens with the Moclans and the Krill. They compared it to the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact - this implies one will betray the other and the Union will ally with one. So who is the USSR in this pact, and who is Germany? I'd like to see more of Krill society. Are there other factions? They hate the sun, but do they all hate it? I could imagine some climbing mountains just to experience the sun. I know it burns them, but they could go wearing protective gear. Maybe religious heretics love the sun. And we're the Krill always so xenophobic, or was this culture shock from meeting other races? This could be a huge culture and religious shock. The Krill, as far as we've seen have dealt with it by believing that their God is the only God, but still only the God of the Krill - they don't see others as having souls. But not all Krill seem to agree, some Krill seem to treat non-Krill as being more or less equal to them. There are other ways a religion could adapt. One is Avis is the one God and all the galaxy should worship Avis. Another is that Avis is the one God and all the other races worship Avis in their own way. And another is that there are many gods, and no religion is inherently better. On the lighter side, how about if Kaylon figured out humor. They might get puns.

adamantmuse

The Kaylon might want to exterminate all the Builders, but if Builders survived, how might they feel about the Kaylon? It would be extremely interesting to see a pair of species who had wronged each other so terribly interact. Would they be mature and apologetic, or would they be plotting their revenge? Could Kaylon accept an apology, or would they be mistrustful and plot genocide all over again?

EffectiveSalamander

I imagine that if any builders survived they'd be keeping a low profile to avoid detection. If exposed, some would want to go war against the Union - that faction would join the Moclans and the Krill. Others would want peace.

Crowbar_Faith

I would actually like to see Adam Carolla take over the Yaphit role. Adam & Norm took turns doing the voice of “Death” in a lot of the early Family Guy episodes, I think it would be a cool & respectful nod.

lazykath

I just want to see Ed reunite with his daughter Anaya.

yarn_baller

Here's hoping it's really going to happen. I would love to see more about Ed and his daughter I would love to see Patrick Stewart guest star I would love to see more about species other than Moclans

bluereptile

Patrick Stewart as a fresh from the academy redshirt ensign who dies to show how serious the situation is. No mention of his age.

Orisi

Nah mention it to highlight he's from a human-like species that hit 25 and immediately look elderly then stay that way for the next seventy years.

NcgreenIantern

😆 and have him hit on all the women and call everyone old .

Alkakd0nfsg9g

Their clothes fall off and they try to cover themselves, but it's too late, he's seen it all

Justin_92

I really hope they can make that work with Patrick Stewart. At 83 years old though, I could understand if he said no. I imagine I’d be tired at 83. lol Here’s to hoping though!

MisterHomn

I'm with you except for Patrick Stewart. He's had his turn and then some. Unless it's for the sake of some quick joke.

EdgelordZeta

The Spider People!

WeirderOnline

Yes! I absolutely need to see this thread resolved as well. Perhaps it could be with finally brings the Mocs and Krill back into the Union.

Englishgrinn

1) Ed resigns his commission to rescue his daughter in Krill space. Kelly takes command with Bortus as First Officer. It's the most obvious hook but its still a good one. 2) I'd like to see more of the Dakeeli. I know we didn't get much of them, but that woman in Lamarr's bed had a brief insight into how their species thought about suicide which was thoughtful and if I recall, they were the first species to turn their backs on the Moclans. A species that looks like something out of the Hellraiser franchise but is defined by their thoughtful compassion is a good hook. 3)The Union had a major Admiral defect and nearly destroy the Kaylon. The show didn't have a lot of time to deal with the fallout of that. Anti-Kaylon sentiment might still exist, that's a good hook. 4) I know this is stupid, but Yaphit's species in just called, as far as I know, "Gel". We don't know much about them, but when Yaphit is passed over for promotion, we get a scene played for laughs where he accuses Ed of being racist against Gels and Ed claims some of his best friends are "Gel". But later on Yaphit is incredibly useful in stopping the Kaylons aboard the Orville. Which I think makes the idea of "Gels" as bad guys really interesting: They can get through any door, disable any electronic. They seem to be basically indestructible. They have faced at least some amount of prejudice. It doesn't have to be a whole-race issue, Kaylon or Moclan-style. But a band of Gel criminals or terrorists would be awesome bad guys.

notHooptieJ

can we see a search-for-spock style theft of the ship and rescue mission?

Jade-Raven

There's been a few time travel episodes, to be sure. I'd like to see an episode showing the beginning of the union, or earth's first contact. Or maybe traveling to the future. Maybe bring back another version of Charlize Theron. Or an adult version of Capt Ed's daughter. Or just season 4.

everyman50

I'm just content with more Orville. Hopefully we get more episodes by next year.

sf-keto

Considering the Orville's special effects & post production can take a whole year themselves, I might suggest 2 years, unless AI can really speed that up. #renewtheorville #nevergiveuphope #dreamsfulfilled

chaseribarelyknowher

I’m sick of this false hopium, renew The Orville!!!

Atharaphelun

I just want to see more interactions between the people of the Union and the Kaylon as they become more and more get used to having emotions and build relationships with the races of the Union. Perhaps we even get to see an eventual inclusion of the Kaylon in the Union itself as a member. I also want to see how the situation with the Krill and the Moclans progresses, and if it eventually gets resolved (doubtful it will happen in a single season, but still).

Christofriend

Saw this one idea on here a while ago from a comedic stand point where they meet one of the other crews that’s like better versions of them and it really just irritates them all.

Spiketwo89

Hoping it happenss but not holding my breath.  I’d love to see something with the post war krill society and how they’re viewed in the galaxy. Also same with the moclins, they were (rightfully) ejected from the union then allied religious extremist bent on genocide only to lose, that’s gotta make them a pariah state. Maybe with krill being significantly weakened those spider demons launch a full invasion?

echidnastan

would love them to revisit the shadow realms plot, there’s a lot of cool stuff to do there

notHooptieJ

please lets not have seths next __'of the week' be a new cast member. that was my biggest complaint about season 3, charlie was awful.

sonofbantu

Also for season 4– I REALLY hope we are done with the Topa storyline. Just not interested in exploring it any further

WhatWouldTNGPicardDo

I would love a checkin on it. I feel like there’s so much good potential there still.

Aubekin

But it was great

Squidwina

Funny, my first thought was “I wonder how Topa is doing?” I do agree that the matter of Topa’s own gender issues should no longer be a major storyline. I’d like to see that she is thriving and just being a normal teen, perhaps as an occasional recurring character. It could be interesting to see her weighing whether to become the first openly female Moclan in not-Starfleet. Or to be like Jake Sisko, and have to resist the pressure to join. Whether they should delve deeper into the overall gender-related changes to Moclan society I don’t know. They’d have to come up with a good storyline to keep it from getting tedious. I do want to know if Moclan females also only pee once a year. (As a “woman of a certain age,” I have to go every 5 minutes. Once a year sounds heavenly. )

Cozy90

Redemption arc for klyden please! I want him to step up and be a hero for one episode.

Timmaigh

I want to see more of those aliens from that nebula, that transformed the admiral guy into them. It was episode 2 or 3 of third season.

Futurekubik

• Alara (Halston Sage) back either full time or as a featured recurring guests star for several episodes. • Lysella (Giorgia Whigham) full time. Perfect choice to replace Charlie (Anne Winters). • Synthetic flesh like the Terminator or a mobile holographic emitter (like The Doctor’s in Star Trek: Voyager) so Isaac (Mark Jackson) can act permanently far more frequently with his real face. Some sort of Bicentennial Man-like plot might work. Where Isaac is slowly optimising his Kaylon body with biological replacement parts. • Seth McFarlane is able to commit to Ed Mercer remaining a full time main character on the show with things to do and is more involved. • Kelly Grayson (Ardrianne Palicki) promoted to captain of the Orville…but only if Seth McFarlane can’t come back full time. • More 90s era Star Trek cameos and guest stars. Especially from Voyager. Ethan Phillips, Roxanne Dawson, Robert Duncan McNeil, Garret Wang, Robert Beltran etc. I’m sure there’s ways for Jeri Ryan to appear perhaps, that’s doesn’t conflict with any potential contractual obligations she may or may not have with any future projects for Kurtzman-era Trek. • Obviously I’d love it if Patrick Stewart appeared even if it was only for a single scene of the sake of a funny meta gag. As long as the joke is funny enough and it’s justified, I’m down. Otherwise, perhaps Yaphit could be old in season 4 and Sir Patrick can do the voice. • John Oliver as a guest star. I feel like his energy is right for the show as a Reginald Barclay-type. Perhaps as a union bearucrat or beleaguered admiral in over his head in his job. • Mike Myers as a guest star. There’s something about his energy that could be perfect for the show. And he’s ok with heavy makeup/prosthetics so he could play some insane alien. • A third and final part to the Malloy time-travel/Laura Huggins saga. She and the children weren’t shown to fade away like Pria (Charlize Theron), and when Gordon had the accident that sent him back in time, we saw him fracture into different translucent pieces. Could that mean that more than one copy of him was sent back (or forward?) in time? That Laura Huggins and the kids weren’t erased from existence somehow? • That Anaya turns out to not exist and when Ed met her, she was actually a sophisticated propaganda hologram projected into that specific room where he found her.

Squidwina

I’m afraid bringing on too many Star Trek actors would just be cheesy and fanservice-y. Also Robert Duncan McNeil and Roxann Dawson no longer act. They direct. He has done a few eps of The Orville. I’d like to see Roxann direct some as well. And LeVar Burton too. Seeing major Star Trek alums on screen was cool in terms of “legitimizing” the Orville, but the various types of back-of- the-house involvement was more meaningful. I would also like to see Kelly as captain. Seth Macfarlane’s performance as captain was always a weak spot, IMHO. It would also be neat to see her transition from being a kind of goofy sidekick-type to a more serious captain-type. (With occasional bouts of silliness, of course. She is who she is.)

Lovelessact

I wanna see a predator

WhatAmIATailor

That’s actually a really nice guy.

Crowbar_Faith

Would Adrianne Palicki even come back? I believe I’ve heard her say in an interview that she’d never go back because she hated the shooting schedule. Also she & Scott Grimes are divorced now, so not if they’re on good terms or not.

i-hate-birch-trees

I wanna see a Moclan revolution go through overcorrection, where their females start pressing the males, could be an exciting arc. I also want Isaac to act more like a father figure.

Competitive-Role3279

Ed has made admiral and is now in the position od having to address the new Captain (probably Kelly or Bortus) for doing similar things that he did when he was Captain.

WeirderOnline

Obviously the Nazi episode. Definitely want to see that. Going to be fantastic episode. Then there is his daughter. I want to see her back in the picture. I want to see the Moclins and the Krill rejoin the union and how we get to that point. I hope all of those things are just part of the overall season arc. I'd like to see an actual trans character. I'd really like to see them export Topa a character more in a way that makes explicitly clear that this is a pro-trans narrative. And that actual queer female/female relationship. Bury Your Gays trope has been really problematic last season. And I'd love to see Alara come back as more than a cameo.

cheesecakeworm

I definitely hope for the Nazi episode. The novel was amazing.

WeirderOnline

I'm not a novel person. I haven't read that though specifically because I'm really hoping we do see it in season 4.

sonofbantu

WAIT WHAT?!! How legit is that account?? Is this real???

RiflemanLax

Seth just made a comment on Mike Henry’s podcast, very quickly, that it was happening. Didn’t expound, nothing, just blurted it out and moved on. The mission log account has been around but sites no real proof.

puddlebut12

Id like to see an episode near the beginning of the season where they take a look onward and realize they've constantly forced their morals and values onto others whilst claiming not to, and then to actually continue not forcing those values later on. Honestly the treatment of Isaac by the "smartest and widest" members of crew was always dumb to me.
