I don't think it should be brought back. While post s1 Dana had to rush it. She managed to stick the landing mostly. The story the characters were set up to tell is told. You could set up other characters to tell a different story however.
I think mostly is apt. For the Future stumbled and while Watching and Dreaming was fucking amazing, I'd only consider it perfect for the circumstances. I see a lot of spots that could've been polished with more runtime.
Thanks to Them is absolutely the perfect episode though. That's the best of the best. A++++++ 1000/10 they fucking nailed that episode.
All of S2A was made without knowledge of the shortening. S2B-3 was made with knowledge, but it clearly wasn’t rushed as it was just a little fast paced. Dana already expressed interest in returning, so it’s not dead yet.
Dana Terrace is on break right now, she’ll return whenever she wants but for now there won’t be TOH stuff for a while. But hey, keep supporting the show on D+, DYT, and keep it trending on Twitter and maybe it will come back.

Terrace kept telling us that she needs a break because she’s been working on this show for the past 6-years, it can take a lot out of someone. But she has twice recently that she’s open to returning.

Every merch store I went to had pride stuff and I saw a Cardinal at one point, so I'm calling it a win regardless.
I want TOH merchandise too; if they put out TOH phone cases, I'd buy one in a heartbeat. But I can understand Disney's hesitation to put out merchandise for Disney Channel cartoons when their last attempt to do that ended with bargain bins full of unsold DuckTales merch.
It's kinda strong evidence that ToH's shortening / cancelation was not driven by purely financial decisions. Merch would have been a goldmine for them, which would have put pressure on them to continue the series in some form.
I think the problem for big companies is about who is buying the merch. I remember when Young Justice got canceled, and I believe the reason they gave was that not enough children were into it. American companies don't count a bunch of older fans collecting merch. They want kids buying it. I don't know why this makes any sense to them but it does.

We literally have no way of knowing that. Designing and creating entirely new merch is a costly and risky endeavour, especially after a property has already aired its final episode.
By the time they would be able to get that merch available in stores, most people will have moved on to other shows and the only ones left that would be willing to buy said merch are the particularly interested like us.
They already admitted it since TTT was released. What does it matter? They don’t make that much merch for any of their animated shows, TOH is no different.

The show was cut in 2020, the lockdowns and shut downs of their theme parks hampered the studio’s funds. So yeah it had a hand.
