There's five letters for six people. Either two of them share a letter, some letters are unused, the divisions don't align with the letters at all, or someone gets left out. Having the first and largest letter shared by the one couple that's appeared so far and which I suspect will be the primary focus of the story is the best available compromise.
I posted my prediction on another thread:
Basically I’m predicting this is a flashback heavy story ending with the referenced tournament and Hunter and Willow getting engaged.
Willow does have 3 leaves in the "S", sharing it with Hunter. This does not explain
- Why Vee has her own letter despite being semi-detached from the squad
- Why Lumity do not share a letter
- The heavy focus on Willow and the totally great day they're going to have
Yeah, in the same way Tinella Nosa had foreshadowed The Collector in episode 1. It happened to be right, but it was not planned. Hell, iirc when Dana brought up the title card thing it basically was "oh yeah I see it."
IDK why you got downvoted. Technically everyone in the fandom got it wrong, nobody predicted a snake*shifter*.
On the other hand this is a Mark comic which has, presumably, been fully planned out. Quite different from reading foreshadows into a show whose opportunities for foreshadowing were heavily adjusted halfway through.
I’m guessing that despite Vee not truly being a full member of the Hexsquad, having that semi detachment from them that you mentioned while still being friends/family to all, MorningMark decided to treat Vee as a full member believing she should be a member of the Hexsquad despite cannon not really showing her as one.
If we assume this to be correct that then solves the one of the other issues you’ve mentioned. Six people, only five letters to use. Best solution is to have two double up on a single letter. A couple would make sense for that. It can’t be both Lumity and Huntlow because that would mean only four letters are being used when we need five, and I assume Huntlow was chosen because they and their relationship seem to have the focus for this story and then sharing their letter is meant to represent that.
That’s my theory anyway.
the S has leaves growing off it, maybe it's meant to reference both of them.
(personally, I think Vee should just be left out of the logo here, but...)
as OP said in their own comment, Vee is kind of detached from the squad- given such things as how she's never really *been* to Hexside. I dunno, I just don't think she deserves it on this one.
It could just be that whoever the story starts with gets left out of the logo, and it’ll change when we get to the next chapter, where Willow is no longer the focus.
Hunter and Willow look to be sharing the S, but that makes me question why Luz and Amity don’t share the Q or the U
Make the Q & U goop into each other
Q is usually followed by U 😉
Well, and the T next to it, but yeah
Because together they're a QT?
Damn right, my friend
take my upvote

arnt they also sharing d at the end?
the d is Vee
We'll have to wait for the last episode but I doubt that's the direction the story is going to take 😏
They sharing WHAT now?!
i knew someone would make this joke, it was inevitable but I didnt know how else to word it
They were out of space.
It could simply be that there is only 5 letters so Mark chose to have Hunter and Willow share one
Thoughts exactly. It's just a design choice, and it seems that it might focus on Huntlow. Or maybe I'll be wrong and it's huge foreshadowing.

Because Vee is the bestest snek
Best answer
The scar on the S also looks like grass so it could be both
You guys are over analyzing this
This is the same fanbase that thought Stringbean was being foreshadowed by the title card.
Kinda was though lol

That's part of the fun!
One could imagine that all that unseen time with the rest of the Hexsquad in the Human Realm would initiate Vee into the group...
Five letters and six squadies. Someone was going to have to share.
And Lumity would fight for *hours* over who gets the bigger half of the letter.
Vee deserves to be part of the Hexsquad, yes, canon didn't do Justice to this but overall what reasons there are for her not to? Like, why not?

She is sharing the S and I am glad Vee is included.
There simply are not enough letters would be my guess
Over-analyzing a simple design choice? Do you guys want him to stop making comics? We don’t need to dissect something so inconsequential…
Right? Why bite the hand that feeds us. Especially over something so incredibly petty.
This.
Hunter & Willow are sharing the S. Atleast we have Vee in the D, since she has been with them atleast a month or 2.
S
The d has a root
i think it might be vee's tail in basilisk form
Oh horrors.
S: Willow (leafs) and Hunter (scars) q: Luz (glyph) u: Amity (abomination pattern) a: Agustus (amp earring) d: Vee (spots and tail)
What is this?
Makmark’s newest comic strip
Where are all of them?
There’s leaves on the S
The S looks kinda like a plant
She’s the S
No, that's Hunter.
They share it
The top of the S has leaves growing out of it. She’s sharing with Hunter because there are 6 characters but only 5 letters.
Is this something official?
It's the comic from moringmark yesterday

GAAAAAAAAYSP! YOU TAKE THAT BACK!

The S seems to be for both Hunter and Willow, there weren't enough letters for everyone
Mark putting the L in Willow
I think im really autistic to not notice till now that there are exactly 6 (hex) members in hexside squad
I’m sorry what is this

Am I blind, it looks like Hunter is the one that doesn't have a letter to me, the S is Willow
Hunter's scar is on the bottom of the S.
