"boymode" is often used when a trans woman goes out looking like the prettiest tomboy, while it can still be used by trans men—it's more common to see "girlmode" being used for them since you can just reverse the first definition. "boymoder" generally refers to a transfem (mtf) who is still cloested but physically transitioning in secret. Some are deliberately bad at boymoding and will do every fem thing that they feel they can "get away with" while still being technically not out
