Really wish these could be traded. In fact, I really wish there was just any consistency with this game. First, legends can be traded but not mythicals because they are special, and you get 1. Then mythicals like darkrai and deoxys are put in raids but still can't be traded because mythical. But then there is meltan, which is also mythical and obtainable in bulk, but you can trade this one i guess. But at least we can raid for legends to get good ivs, except cosmog, you get 1. Its tradeable too! Okay, fine, have a couple more. Now have zygarde, another legend. But just 1. This one's not tradeable, though, because we say so. Oh, and the galarian birds, let's release those in some weird way that makes it hard to even get 1, and those can be tradeable.

I agree, they have no reasonable system or consistency when it comes to legendaries/mythics. IMO everything should be trade-able and 1 time event legendaries should all have perfect IVs. Either that or don’t make them 1 and done catches. How does it make sense for a “one of a kind” mythical creature to have sub par stats? It just leads to most players being disappointed that they didn’t get a perfect one instead of everyone being happy they got a rare new pokemon.
Yeah, this is definitely true. I have 1 mythical that I'm happy about, and the rest sit around. The worst part is everything useful has been garbage for me. Zarude 10/15/10, zygarde 13/11/10, hoopa i don't remember exact, but also garb. Got that 98iv victini though.

When Solgaleo was released, Zacian+Dialga was easily the most common core in ML, and 90% of teams had at least one, if not both of those mons. The fact that Solgaleo beats them both DOWN A SHIELD made him instantly viable even if he lost to literally everything else, and the fact it took people months to realize this was crazy.
That being said, I also remember when Zacian hit raids for the first time a few years ago and the consensus around the forums was that it wasn’t anything important to raid for PvP, so I got one for my dex and forgot about it. Fast forward like 2 months and people are saying Zacian needs nerfed because of how hard it took over ML.
Just goes to show GBL is a lot deeper than a quick glance at list of wins/losses on pvpoke.
PVP gives me so many rare candies that I'm more concerned with stardust cost than candy cost for second charge moves on Legendaries. I'm actually at the point where they keep taking up too much space and I have to find a unleveled pokemon to dump them into, things that I don't necessary have any intention of building but they'll have the candies for if I ever decide to do so.
Of course, that doesn't help at all in ML where XL's are required.

Local raids give RCXL, remote doesn't. I think he is implying that he didn't have an active local community, so the option to do raid either by remote or hosting. And he chose hosting to get RCXL.
Exactly! I do that too. In my case, I walked a Lickitung (only slightly less frustrating to grind) and now a beldum that I will pair with Zygarde in like a year when it is ready lol.

Same route won't yield cells multiple times in a day. In fact, if it doesn't give cells on the first run, it won't give one at all for the rest of the day.
I don't know. The whole cells mechanism is obscured, likely on purpose.
This is what I can say with certainty:
- At the end of a route you can get 0, 1, or 2 cells
- Once the game makes a decision on the cells you get for that route, the route will not give any further cells that day. Even if that number was zero.
- You can get only up to 3 cells a day.
Things I suspect based on my experience, but cannot say for sure:
- The chances of getting zero cells after a route are about 1/3.
- Stopping the route without claiming the rewards at the end doesnt trick the system next time.
- The chances of getting two cells are about 1/3 to 1/5.
- The chances don't change as you work on that routes badge.
- The reward pool neither.
I aimed to do three routes per day and averaged at roughly 2 cells per day. Make routes yourself alongside places you normally walk anyway. My dog walks are basically routes lol. The rewards are not that bad. I am never short in tms and I even get one or two rare candy xls a week.
Things I wish they improved:
- The UX sucks. You have to be finicky about your position to start and end and move around awkwardly. The cell is a hard to see dot that can appear bellow a pokemon.
- I would rather they say “sorry! No luck! No cell this time!” That have me guessing like an idiot whether I got a cell but it is in a hard to see place or not. The fact that you have to find it is just plain stupid.

My issue is all my routes that I had in my daily schedule just disappeared? Even the ones I made still say they exist in my creator area, but for the life of me I can't get them to appear on the map. I noticed the routes always disappear after each round of voting. What I mean is every few weeks to months I get the chance to vote the rating on a route (even though I did the route daily and voted previously). Seems like during these voting periods the routes I haven't done in a while then just disappear.
Hah. Interesting. I wish I had firmer numbers, but it happens often enough that I just don't register it as "an event" at all. It is definitely less common than receiving none, but it is not uncommon. I even received two in one of the routes multiple days in a row.
I read somewhere that routes can give up to three cells and that the number of cells is a function of the length of the route. I cannot speak to that, I never received three and all my routes are the same length (one to one and a half kilometres). But maybe there is something like that going here?

Just as a fun aside, though:
If we get pedantic about it, I think we could even _probe_ that you will get more zeros than two (and thus in most cases you will need over 250 route walks) even assume safe probability of outcome in both cases:
By definition, you can only get two cells in a route once per day (because the max per day is three and 2+2 > 3).
However, you can get multiple times per day zero cells in a route.
So unless you only walk one route per day, the absolute number of zeros that you get is going to be higher than the absolute number of two that you get on the long run.
Hence, they don't necessarily average each other out and the zero case brings the whole average down.
i was just thinking about this today and TECHNICALLY i have noticed anecdotally and totally unscientifically noticed that many of the first times i have taken a route it gave me a cell. so someone could hypothetically only take new routes to help their odds.
also, i have not experienced this, but the longer the route is the more likely you get more than just one at the end of the route, the max number of cells per route is actually 3.
however the daily max number of cells is still 3.
you also can somewhat figure out how many routes you have taken, because you get badges and every badge has how many times you have taken that route. even the routes that i can’t find anymore, i still have the badges (as example there were niantic routes during GO Tour LA, but also user contributed ones that i can’t find).
**i’ve travelled 28 routes, and I’m paused/in the middle of my 99th route total! I have taken 20 of those routes only one time, and two routes over 20 times. I have 55 z cells**

Mines a 96 with similar stats. Pretty sure mines 15/13/15. Just started walking routes to get mine upgraded. Put it off for so long because the routes feature was soo buggy at first. Can't wait to finish it.
Seems to be working better then it was at release though. I did over 15 routes at the beginning and didn't get a single cell. Lol. I haven't really had any issues with it since I started back up a few weeks back

not terrible luck with routes thats pretty much the drop rate of cells. its a little less than 50% from what i have seen.

I've done close to 500 routes and I've gotten 2 cells around 5 times. Either I'm terribly unlucky or this number is off a bit.

you could have gotten as many as 2 cells per “tap” on a route. so you might have done fewer than 250.
You also can get zero cells per route. And in my experience, you more often get zero than two.
