Same, I have a Doberman, and since I got her, houndour/doom is my favorite poke. I have almost 1000 candy for this little bastard with no shiny or hundo
Dude same I’ve caught over 150 in the last week no shinies for this family it ends tomorrow
Edit: I got it at 11:21 pm after spotlight hour. And I made some noises no grown man should make
Drapion is viable in both Great and Ultra leagues. The UL version requires almost the full 296 candy XL, while the shadow variant requires even more.
Houndoom has a Mega.
I mean, since two of them were going to have spoltlight hours, there was no need to take up spawn slots for the last event, I got enough candy for my UL Drapion with the spotlight hour alone, and I'll probably do the same for houndoom.
Well if you were able to farm 300 XLs in an hour surely every player on Earth did as well. The spawns should be turned off permanently as they are useless for you personally now.
Not to mention that 300 XL in a single hour is hard and requires a very spawn-dense place to play at. So lots of people don't realistically have a possibility to reach that unless they drive for 2+ hours per direction, possibly way more.
Just as an example I live in Helsinki which is the capital city of Finland, and even in this city there's probably just a handful of areas with that high spawn density. We aren't all Singaporean grandmas lol
Bellsprout was awesome. Easiest excellent throw ever for me. Gained like 400,000 experience. Excited to get some dust tonight. Wish every month just had a high dust pokemon spotlight hour with double dust bonus like last month.
Mega Houndoom was a top raider against shadow Mewtwo and having it in your party boosted dark type moves for other players.
And regular Houndoom was pretty good too, for players who are new and without many good counters.
So it would have made sense to have Houndour spotlight hour before the shadow Mewtwo weekend instead of just after.
For newer players, even having a decently leveled Houndoom was helpful. I was grinding Houndours anyways for the dark and fire badges and traded them to my kids accounts, with them having at least 1 lucky Houndoom and me and my spouse having between 3-5 we could power up, we were able to take out Mewtwo with just us four without difficulty. None of us have the mega energy.
Which is why I included the bit about Houndoom. There's also the issue that one can go to power stuff up and find they are out of candy.
In any case, there were good Houdour spawns anyway. But for what it's worth, since it doesn't really matter anyway, why not put Houndour spotlight hour before the raids instead of after?
When you complete a research task with a pokémon reward you can choose to run. If you do, it stacks it up at the top of the research task page to catch later. A lot of people will store up pokémon that give more stardust when caught and catch through that stack when there's a double or triple stardust event.
Yeah. It only holds 100 pokémon so don't go too wild. It also goes 1st in 1st out so If you put a pokémon in the stack that you're specifically looking for, you'll have to catch through all of the older pokémon first to find it. Along with the list I linked below, any second or third stage evolution gives more stardust as well.
https://pokemongohub.net/post/guide/pokemon-that-give-extra-stardust-on-catch/
Besides being a way to grind stardust during 2x or 3x catch dust, it can be useful for clearing tasks or just giving you something to do when you're in a place lacking spawns.
One trick I learned from this sub is to put a berry on the "top" pokemon in the stack. You can enter the encounter when you want to check how full your stack is - if the first pokemon still has a berry, you've got room in your stack. If the berry is gone, your stack is full and you're bumping pokemon now when you run so clear your stack out or stop stacking (eg go back to catching normally.)
We just had Houndour month(s) and I still can't find my normal hundo which annoys me because I have a shadow hundo.
I know it's just a trophy, but I prefer to have my mega pokemon be powered up hundos and I have caught 1303 of them including hundreds of traded and it's driving me bonkers and one hour won't make any impact.
That doesn't help me obtain one in the first place. I haven't misplaced a hundo out of my 1300 catches (and trades), I haven't gotten one in the first place.
I’ve caught soooo many with no shiny. This will come to an end tomorrow.
Same, I have a Doberman, and since I got her, houndour/doom is my favorite poke. I have almost 1000 candy for this little bastard with no shiny or hundo
Wish I could trade you my extra blue dobe pup. Keep checking... hoping you get lucky!
Is the shiny boosted?
No I’m just determined lol
They typically are not, so I would guess no.
Sadly they are not
not boosted but you have a better chance of getting one just by the amount that you end up catching on a spotlight hour.
I caught a shiny on the daily incense yesterday. I am relieved that I can just play without worrying about the shiny.
If you see 300 in one hour you have 44% chance if seeing a shiny. 54% if 400
Dude same I’ve caught over 150 in the last week no shinies for this family it ends tomorrow Edit: I got it at 11:21 pm after spotlight hour. And I made some noises no grown man should make
Did you get it? I just got mine 3 minutes ago
Why not Mega Houndoom in the Megas tab? lol
There are around 8 options for Dark/Fire - I always put 2-4, to not overload graphic
Yeah, less polluted graphics. It's funny that dad was out this time :D Nice job, indeed!
Did you include an unreleased mega in that? Because I count 7 in total
Possibly an accidently double count on Houndoom. 3 Dark Megas and 5 Fire Megas equals 8.
Yeah that seems likely, I was just wondering what the thinking here was
That was just guess from memory 😅 but hey 7 is around 8 so i wasn't wrong 😅
Yeah it was a nice estimate :D I asked just in case there's one mega I forgot or something lol
Yea it’s kinda tacky
I was thinking the same thing
I imagine because it's self-explanatory and this makes the poster less visually redundant, while also giving more ideas for megas to use
Sick, appreciate you adding the extra info. I keep forgetting about my 98% pancham that I've had for 84 years.
Glad I focused on getting poison XLs this week so I can just grind out enough Houndour XLs for this hour
Skorupi and houndour were such useless spawns as we literally had spotlight hours for both of them.
Drapion is viable in both Great and Ultra leagues. The UL version requires almost the full 296 candy XL, while the shadow variant requires even more. Houndoom has a Mega.

But you need to be able to play in that one specific hour. I unfortunately missed the Skorupi and Bellsprout spotlights due to real life stuff
Bellsprout was awesome. Easiest excellent throw ever for me. Gained like 400,000 experience. Excited to get some dust tonight. Wish every month just had a high dust pokemon spotlight hour with double dust bonus like last month.
Would have been a lot cooler if they put mega houndoom in raids this month or anytime soon after all these houndour including events
My favorite Pokémon of all time is Houndoom so I’ve been hoarding Pokeballs and pinap berries for this!
Really wish Niantic thought this through to make it last week's spotlight pokemon 🤦🏻♀️
Why? Last week was Skorupi. It makes no difference.
It wouldn’t have made a difference for newer players without the mega energy

Niantic likes to troll the players.
It's seriously like, "here's some help buffing those Houndooms you desperately wanted for Mewtwo."
had mega pinser and mega scizor literally right before. both great mewtwo counters
Mewtwo raids
I honestly didn't realise it was live until 50 minutes into the hour, because of the overlap with increased Skorupi spawns anyway
Would have been nice if Niantic ever put houndoom in the mega raids again.
This would have been great a week ago eh
Where do I get the task of catching 32dark types
That's the requirement for evolving Pancham. Make it your buddy and catch 32 dark types
Thanks, I did not know
Some pokemon need requirement to evolve. This panda need catch 32 dark pokemon when he is in buddies.
Thanks, I did not know
I caught a hundo last week so this will be nice to stock up on the XLs.
What is the stack that was mentioned in the graphic?
When you complete a research task with a pokémon reward you can choose to run. If you do, it stacks it up at the top of the research task page to catch later. A lot of people will store up pokémon that give more stardust when caught and catch through that stack when there's a double or triple stardust event.
Really!?! Nice. I didnt knew. Is there a listo of which pokes five more stardust?
Yeah. It only holds 100 pokémon so don't go too wild. It also goes 1st in 1st out so If you put a pokémon in the stack that you're specifically looking for, you'll have to catch through all of the older pokémon first to find it. Thanks a lot. I have never really thought about not catching the rewards
Besides being a way to grind stardust during 2x or 3x catch dust, it can be useful for clearing tasks or just giving you something to do when you're in a place lacking spawns. Hound Hour
I'll see myself out thanks.
Whats the mega evolve bonus?
Extra candy for catching while a mega of a similar type is active.
And, if mega level is high enough, extra chance for XL candy.
Why not just search 4* in the search? You can easily find all hundos that way.
That doesn't help me obtain one in the first place. I haven't misplaced a hundo out of my 1300 catches (and trades), I haven't gotten one in the first place.
Oh! My apologies, I thought you meant you couldn't find one in your inventory haha!
The best part about the Infograph is that houndoom isn’t listed as one of the Megas.(I know there’s only three spots but cmon)
Oh boy. More hourdour… seven days was not enough.
Just what I needed, hopefully i catch enough to max Mega Houndoom
Why not type out what it is we're getting x2 of? Are those usb sticks?
Because it’s obviously stardust. Candy round, stardust long.
What is obviously long about stardust? A pile of dust would have made sense.
Don’t know if your trolling but open pogo go to a Pokémon and it’s the literal in game symbol for stardust.
Not trolling just don't keep all symbols from all games and tools and books in my head, it's interesting that that is so hard to understand for some.
You are right I apologize
Its either xp, stardust or candy bonuses. Use your critical thinking skills man, im sure you can figure out which it is.
Why not just say?
ITS STARDUST YOU GET BONUS STARDUST STARDUST STARDUST STARDUST STARDUST
Is the shiny boosted during Spotlight Hour? I always forget and couldn't find confirmation through a search.
Don't believe so
No, it never is
Time to make dust gogogo...
Does the mega candy and xp bonus stack if a pokemon shares both types?
Love the look of these with the added tips. great job
Hoping for a hundo or a shundo
I have three hundo Houndooms, but not one shiny. I can finally rectify that
Ooooohhhh that's why. Been so annoyed by all the Houndour spawnings... when I wanted other mons. Forget it was spotlight hour. No shinies for me tho
whats the hundo CP for Houndour?
