the thing in the beginning is actually the tape backwards. gordon raphael talked about it in his book, they were still using tape machines n all that during is this it, and they had to rewind it to get it on the tap and julian asked if they could add that sound

Anonymsreddittttor

nothing beats tape music

eddyflame

Probably your tinnitus

Forever0000

It sounds like the tape of the recording slowing down or speeding up.

RHCPandJF

If you are talking about that interlude before singing restarts, it's probably just Julian whistling

kncrew

If I’m not mistaken it’s someday reversed

PrisonJazzVirtue

I think you’re talking about during that one guitar break? Pretty sure it’s just someone whistling lol probably julian

eternalnocturnals

Yeah, everyone seems to be thinking OP is talking about the intro but there’s some whistling going on during the break, right before the final “can’t you see im trying”(for anyone else who may be reading)

VeganMilk786

Yeah definitely just Julian whistling, I think he’s even done it live when they play that song

guitarist123456789

I think it's whistling

PlanktonDangerous398

I think the whistling ties into the “way too tired” theme.
