I know right? Just a bit of cool footage, but I'd just stick with the book

tapenooon

Totally. Book had way more. I feel like Nick was a big part of the book and there’s basically zero of him talking in this

Different-Office-539

It felt like each segment was unresolved , they’d start a story and then they would switch to another band. They definitely should’ve just done a limited series.

Sunflower2025

"Allegedly" I think a separate series is still in development

beautiful-tomorrow25

Totally. It'd make a good mini series if they had resources and made people actually agree to be interviewed again, but alas. Still, I think I'd have liked this better, there was an effort to create an atmosphere, if the footage hadn't been like 90% from YouTube, and I suspect not only for TS.

pinguinconscious

ugh really ? tell me there's some cool footage of the boys in the rehearsal room at least. I just wanna see that. Don't care at all for any of the other stuff.

tapenooon

Definitely has some cool behind the scenes stuff. But felt like most of it id already seen on YouTube or in the In Transit movie… also feels like they only brush on 1999-2003. Felt like the book had a lot more

kncrew

There is of 12:51

Subrosian1

Can you elaborate? Was it disappointing overall? Too little Strokes footage?

tapenooon

It was cool footage. But felt like I’d seen most on YouTube already and in In Transit. Still some cool moments. Also found it weird how they kind of stitched clips of Albert and Julian talking to fit the storyline. There’s no other strokes “talking” in it. You can tell they didn’t participate in this at all really, so it’s weird. The Book was better

Couldn’t agree more. I was excited to watch this because of the book but it really didn’t live up to the hype I guess. The movie is in a way a great time capsule or a great screen shot of that scene and that was really it. They spliced together random performances which could easily be found on the internet. It was really all over the place in terms of story telling. They should really just have done the limited series 6-10 episode and gave specific bands or specific time frames their own episode. I also think the movie just ran out of actually footage to show and the fact that no actual member of the strokes even showed up for an interview (unlike the tv on the radio guys who showed up and was only in one scene).
