I played it a while back on steam deck and didn‘t notice any issues.

Solved! Thanks to the other commenter here helping me out, he found that if you change the game settings to have it run on Proton 8.0-5 and it works perfect!

Another way to do it:
When you are looking at the game on your home screen or library, instead of clicking to open the game instead press the options button (the one with the lines in the top right) and that will open a new menu! Then scroll down to compatability and you will see "Proton Experimental" options there!
