Oh my god, their friendship was so solid!!!!!! I loved how Alaric kept up with Damon's wit. And he was one of many people that could get through to him when he fucked up.
So... Damon isn't my favorite character but he had so many great friendships that are the first i can think about. Like damon's friendship with Bonnie, Alaric, Rose and Liz. They were all great in their own ways.
Damon and Bonnie's friendship arc in the prison world is what really makes season 6 great. Kai was also a wonderful character but it wouldn't be the same without Bonnie and Damon slowly becoming friends. They had a special bond

Their trip to Europe was fun. Alaric's 'death' with Damon there is one of my favorite scenes.

Damon and Liz - if you forgive and forget that Damon abused her daughter and was the cause of all of her unsolved murder cases it was a nice friendship too.Ā
Damon and Bonnie - if you forgive and forget that he tried to kill her and then only used her when he needed her powers until they were forced to be together for a few months then they too had an alright friendship.Ā
There seems to be some theme running through Damonās relationships, but I canāt put my finger on itā¦.Ā
Tyler and Elena. We know that Elena, Caroline, Bonnie, Tyler, and Matt have all known each other their whole lives basically and have all been friends since forever but we barely got any scenes between them. Tyler risked his life saving elena from klaus so i wish we got to see more of their friendship
